Overrated club in Detroit. I like that you have more people dressing up to come out for a night on the town. However it is just like another hood bar except higher pricing for drinks and limited seating. If you book a booth understand that it will not be ready until 11:30pm and they seat about 6 people comfortably. You will have to spend $ 100 in drinks to sit there or buy at least 1 bottle of Moet which runs you $ 150(who even drinks that stuff anymore). Drinks are $ 10+ and I think that’s steep for a well liquor drink at $ 10. The dance floor is the size of a SMALL bathroom and the ladies bathroom is tiny with 2 stalls. The servers we had were not pleasant and the music for the most part is rap/hip hop. Cover is $ 10BEFORE11pm and inflation starts at $ 20. They make money off of the club promotion and«VIP» factor. Just because it has«lounge in it’s name doesn’t mean that it is as such. There is no real dress code as we had on cocktail dresses and there were people in jeans and gym shoes. Be warned.

Enjoyed this spot. Happy hour food specials are definitely a key bonus and worthy it. Most apps thumbs up. A bit pricey outside happy hour deals. I have not been here during late night or weekend hours.

$ 10 to get in here before 11 and after that it goes way up and trust me, it ain’t worth it. The one plus i will give to this place is that the DJ did play good music all night, but that’s it. The Drinks here are WAYTOOEXPENSIVE(I’m talking between $ 9-$ 15 for drink, depending on what you get and $ 4-$ 6 for a beer), small dance floor, small VIP booths, inexperience waitresses, the negatives just go on and on with this place. I did come here for a party, but i probably will never be coming back again.

Not cool!!! So after spending $ 35 to watch the fight tonight, my husband and I walk into the lounge and there are no gotd*amn chairs! Who does that!!! Absolutely unacceptable. We are here with another couple and had plans to have a good time, eat, drink and be merry but I guess not tonight. They must not want or need my money tonight or EVER! Not only are there no chairs at the bar, the usual comfort of the booths are currently adorned by reserve signs. I’m more than pissed. Not that I can’t sit and enjoy my night but for the simple fact that I paid good money to stand. Unfreaking believable. Never again. TRUST

Two words — Grown & Sexy. PV is a small club next door to the Detroit Fish Market. If you’re not looking for it, you’ll probably walk right past, thinking it’s just the Fish Market’s alternate door. Anytime I’ve been, this place is always poppin’ off… but then again, it’s a fairly small space. Average $ 10 cover on weekends. My rum & diet coke runs $ 7 here — for a short. DJ keeps the hot hip hop coming strong, unfortunate that the dance floor — like the whole place — is so small. There are a few VIP booths, and after being part of one for my girl friend’s birthday, I can say there is nothing fancy about them, unless you like paying a couple hundred just to make sure you have a seat for the night. The bar staff is charming and attractive. It’s basically a pick-up spot. For the occassional girls night out where you want an excuse to put on a hot dress and feel swanky, PV is a good choice. The crowd is late 20’s-30’s age range. Usually full, but not so full you can’t move. Pretty respectable, good looking folks. Key word, «occasional». :) Come here too often and you’ll break the bank. (food menu exists, but I haven’t tried it) NOTE: All pictures on this business profile are from the Detroit Fish Market, not of PV. They are the same owner I believe, so makes sense… but the pics definitely do not reflect the club.

I don’t know why I haven’t seen more advertisements for this place. I’ve been here on two separate occasions. Once was a wine tasting some time ago. That was a fabulous time. The setup was nice. The organizers(can’t remember who organized this event) had it organized very well. The bar staff was knowledgable about what they were serving. The service was nice. The chef(of the Seafood Market) walked around and I spoke with him. He was very nice and told us about the restaurant he owns, Sangria. The daily happy hour specials are very reasonably priced. From 5 – 8, appetizers are $ 3 and from 8-close, they are $ 5. Nice! The happy hour menu includes house fries(which are nicely seasoned), sweet potato fries(which are served with either ketchup OR cinnamon & sugar), catfish fingers, popcorn shrimp(which are REALLY small), crab cake sliders and chicken wings. This menu reminds me that I need to make the PV Lounge a regular after-work spot. So last night, I went there for the 2nd time ever, for the Detroit Restaurant Week Happy Hour Event. it was MUCH more organized than the previous week’s event at the Whitney and that’s a slam at the [Whitney’s] staff, NOT the DRW event organizers. It made me like the PV Lounge, even more. They were well staffed, the complimentary appetizers flowed continuously – and they were delicious! The $ 5 martini special was good. The bar staff didn’t get disheveled when the crowd seemed to pick up. There was a waitress tending to the booths. Hats off to the organizers of the Detroit Restaurant Week staff and hats off to the PV Lounge staff for a great time.
