One of the nicest lounges I’ve been in. Hands down! Large walk-in humidor with good variety. You’ll pay a little more per stick on big name brands but worth it if you use the lounge. Lounge has large leather couches and chairs as well as big screen TVs. Well stocked bar and super nice staff. Don’t miss this experience!

Came here for a bachelor party. Nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves. Good selection of cigars. Classy without being pretentious. Live music was really great. Will definitely be back.

There’s two sides to this biz: a cigar humidor/retail side, and a bar. I hit the humidor first and was greeted by a young lady offering suggestions, but I opted for the gold standard… a Montecristo. After completing my purchase she punched it and lit it for me. Perfect. Then I walked across the hall/entrance to the bar and enjoyed my smoke with a drink. Chill atmosphere. Servers were attentive but not all up in my business. I «worked» on my iPad for a while and simply relaxed. Try it… It’s good for you. ;) They have 50+/- vodkas, 75ish whisky/bourbon/scotches, and other misc wines and such. More beer than you can drink in a night too. If I find myself in Detroit again, I’ll be back.

Since I moved downtown this is a staple for me. Great non-pretentious atmosphere and clientele. Great selection of smokes and there’s always friendly staff at the humidor ready to offer help, a suggestion, or a cut and a light. The live music is always quality and helps to set the mood. My only minor gripes are the barmaids at times. They can be a little too laid back. Sometimes you have to flag them down to refill your drink. When it’s very slow they are pretty attentive however. The smoke filtration system could be better, but like I said these are nitpick minor gripes. I love this place. I have been to cigar bars around metro Detroit and outside of Michigan. This is by far my favorite place. Be wary during Tigers games… the fans can be a bit obnoxious.

Today I was in the mood for a good smoke before my meeting at Wayne State Med School, so I figured I would pay one of my favorite cigar shops a visit, La Casa De La Habana, located in Detroit’s downtown Harmonie Park. When I lived in Detroit a few years ago, this was one of my main spots. especially on Friday nights. I love the Cuban cultural influence that the designers had when building this place. Everything is properly laid out. One side of this establishment sells cigar essentials such as humidors, cigar cutters, travel humidors and other necessary supplies that any true cigar afficionado would carry. They are even selling hats a scarves now. Sweet! Upon entering, the tabbaconist, was very helpful and friendly. I didn’t know him from a hole in the wall, but he made me feel very welcomed, like I was I catching up with an old friend from years’ past. He guided me to the humidor and encouraged me to take a look. The humidor was completely stocked with all of the big name heavy hitters in the cigar industry. Everything from Fuente to the crappy brick house cigars was on deck. They didn’t have a large boutique selection of cigars which was a downer, but all in all the selection selection was good, nothing really over the top. After taking a while and thoroughly selecting my morning smoke which was a Fuente short story, I decided to go into their Comacho smoke lounge and enjoy my cigar along with a cup of water. The cigar was really good as Fuente’s normally are. It was perfectly humidified, had perfect construction and had very good flavors off the draw. Their lounge on the first floor is very nice and is equipped with a full service bar. They also have an exceptionally nice members lounge on the second floor with another full service bar that offers exceptional top shelf spirits and seated areas. I enjoyed my experience overall, and definitely will be back soon. The service here is great, the décor is very warm and gives you a beautiful slice of Cuba. This is one of the nicest cigar lounges in the nation and definitely the nicest cigar lounge in the Detroit city proper.

Classy and eloquent spot in downtown detroit, truly a respite from the usual Detroit lounges. Private access was granted to me by a friend of mine to the members only area and I took out some clients to smoke and clink a few glasses. The clean atmosphere and feeling of exclusivity and premium service helped me to close a deal that was well into the six figures. Happy clients and happy business man. I purchased an annual membership shortly after. Definitely recommend to businessmen and networkers in Detroit. An investment in yourself and your business.

I haven’t written a review for this yet? I must have been too busy drinking martinis :) My husband and I stop on here every few months when we are walking around downtown. They have a really nice selection of cigars and since he’s a bit of a «cigar snob» it’s fun place for him. If you enter the right doors you’ll end up on the cigar shop. They have a humidity and temperature controlled room that you can shop in. The staff will cut your cigars for you if you want to smoke right away or pack it nicely if not. The matches are always available. If you enter the left doors you will be in the cigar bar and lounge. They offer some nice cocktails, beers, and wine. There is seating at the bar or some sofas to relax in. There is a club with private lounging available if you want the most of your cigar smoking experience. Lockers are also available. I shorted one star because the waitress was pretty preoccupied. We ended up leaving her less of a tip than we wanted because we couldn’t get her to pick up the bill. Otherwise a great shop and fun place for couples.

This is a great place for cigars and alcohol(aka scotch or tequila) but they have a great wine selection. Semi Private rooms make holding a conversation easy. Ventilation is good. Service is great. Cigar prices are a little high but you pay for atmosphere.

Great ambiance minus the crowd. Lovely walk in humidor but the selection of sticks almost rivals the everyday smoke shop. Music was great. I’ll try again on a less«popular» night or during the daytime

Cigar bar situated nicely in Harmonie Park, right around the corner from Music Hall. The atmosphere is nice, kinda swanky. The service is pretty good, and the drinks are EXPENSIVE. $ 10 – 14 for a glass of house wine, expensive. No thanks. The downstairs is open regularly, the upstairs I believe is only open for weekends or special events, usually with a cover charge. Depending when you’re there, you may be able to catch live music on either level. I’m no cigar afficiando so I can’t speak on their selection, but their humidor appears pretty impressive so I’d assume any folks coming here looking for a stogie will find what they’re looking for. For the price, and not to mention coming out smelling like cigar smoke, I’ve just never been blown away the few times I’ve been here. Service isn’t bad but not particularly great, and I always leave feeling just«that was ok.» And I must admit, the prices kill this school teacher’s pocket when there are other spots — some cheaper, some of the same price range — that I enjoy more. I can’t quite put my finger on it… but La Casa De Habana just doesn’t do it for me.

Reading reviews on Unilocal!is fairly amusing, especially when people figure out that you have to pay for parking when you are not in a bland suburban strip mall. Or that drinks can be expensive when you are not drinking cheap hooch. That aside, this is a great place for a nice cigar. For a noob like me, the humidor is the best stocked I’ve had the pleasure of stepping foot compared to the rest of metro Detroit. The cigars are always in good shape, which should be a minimum standard but it is shockingly rare to find. They have a great selection of Bourbons and single-malt scotches at a reasonable price for their quality. Free wifi is available, you have to ask for the code but it makes the place a fun way to get out of the office. What is disappointing is the layout of the place. The humidor and space for the guy who rolls stogies(yes, they roll their own) is fine. It might take a bunch of space but it is well thought out. The bar area, not so much. Th bar is HUGE, taking almost half the room it’s in. Which would be fine IF the room was twice as big, but at its current size, this leaves room for only 10 or so chairs to sit in away from the bar. I don’t know about you but I’d rather sit in a comfy seat than another bar stool so this disappoints me greatly. One day I’ll have the money to open a copy cat of King Corona in Tampa, complete with Cuban sandwiches but until then, this is a great alternative.

Introduced to La Casa by my associates Henry and Brian B.(no relation). This is the third Cigar Bar I’ve visited in the last two months, the other beings 1701 and Churchills(West Bloomfield). I have to say I’m not sure I have a clear cut favorite but La Casa might have a slight edge. I agree with the previous comments about the average cigar selection and pricey drinks. The bar is impressive though. One of the largest and nicest bars you will find downtown I’m sure. If you are looking for a drink, chances are they will have it. I’ve only been on weekdays which tend to be more quiet, which can be nice. I’ve seen the same musician both times I’ve come to La Casa and saw him play a more acoustic set last night. It’s very relaxing to sit, enjoy a cigar, watch a game, and have music in the background at a decent level. I will say though, I look forward to dropping in during the summer on a Saturday night after a Tigers or Wings game and mixing it up with a larger crowd.

I’ve been here a couple times over the last few weeks and each time has been real enjoyable. The have a decent selection of cigars and the staff seems to know their stuff. Lots of Patels and Padrons. I would’ve liked to have seen a larger selection, but those brands are staples to almost every cigar smoker. I typically bring my own cigar, so it’s not a huge deal to me. As Henry B. mentions, the drinks are fairly pricey. $ 4 for a Perrier, $ 10+ for select bourbons. Damn. I went with a Sam Adams, which was cheaper than a bottle of water. Huh? Their VIP area might be worth it to some. I had a chance to tour it. It’s located on the second floor and is pretty expansive. Lots of chairs and couches to kick back with some friends. Ask for a tour, the staff will give you a walkthrough. Since Michigan has gone smoke-free, i find myself at cigar bars more and more and this place will always be in the rotation.
