Super-fast carryout! We order 6 shawarma sandwiches and it was well worth the drive. This place is awesome. Chicken is pure amazing. Make sure you get extra garlic.

Great sandwiches excellent hot dogs. Best food after an afternoon of imbibing I have EVER had. I eat their chicken shawarma sandwich frequently. I bring all Detroit visitors to Bucharest grill it’s a MUST experience.

3.5. Beef shawarma was good but nothing I’d wait in a huge line for. Cheap for a big sandwich. Pita was a little dry.

Just stopped in at the new location on Michigan Avenue. Same outstanding sandwiches. Same quick service. Was hoping this would have some sit down room but no such luck. 5 stools is it and it can get very cozy when the customers are waiting inside. I think I would rather drive a little further to the downtown location and then sit in the park bar and eat.

Freaking amazing. I am there no less than three times a week. I get a chicken shwarma. No complaints at all. Everything on the menu is amazing.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve enjoyed their food. I’ve never enjoyed ordering delivery, however, and my last experience with this establishment takes the cake. Hung up on twice, incredibly rude phone attendant. Rude enough for me to complain on Facebook to them. Apparently they are more worried about me saying«Get your shit together» then apologizing or fixing their problem. Don’t bother with these people. There are far better options for middle eastern food in Detroit with incredibly friendly people and delicious food options.

First; let me say I’ve been patronizing Bucharest before they open the location on Michigan Ave… in Corktown District. So, I’ve personally been a patron for over 4 years. I’ve seen the growth of the buisness, and in most circle in the detroit community«Bucharest Grill» is a house whole name. So, when we ordered this past week, and received the below average customer service from the young lady on the phone. It was disheartening. Not only did she hang the phone up, on my coworker who was attempting to have the order read back for clarification, to minimize any mistakes. Upon receiving the order, there was multiple items missing from our order. Even with good food, customer service place a important part, and sadly this has been a reoccurring issue with Bucharest. As I’ve stated in past reviews, of restaurants in the«Corktown District» they have to be willing to provide complete service i. e quality food, respectable prices and good service… to keep my buisness. They’re just to many restaurants in the area… providing quality, to have to deal with; poor and sometimes bad attitude service. While the food was good, the service has turned me off from this location. My over all experience was a 4 out of 10.

I’m romanian… sadly this place doesn’t have too many romanian dishes, yet it’s named after the capital of romania. Most dishes here are middle eastern. I had high expectations coming here and was really let down. I told my parents not to come here because they wouldnt get what they would have been expecting. The food is also very salty. Soooo salty I can’t believe it. This place should either add more romanian food or change them name.

We order religiously once or twice a week. Always great! The one time it wasn’t amazing, they replaced all our shwarmas the following week. Amazing staff. I recommend they work on wait times. Some times a call in order they say 20 minutes, but it ends up being 40 minutes. I would like to see some sort of system where they could text us while we are waiting in the parking lot then drive up to the window when we get a text that the food it ready because the waiting area is very small and newbies get confused whether or not there is a line. Most people already paid and are just waiting. We love this place so much, at our office, we are having what we call a «BuchaFEST» and we are doubling up on the garlic and having shwarma raffles. Great job Bucharest Corktown! Thanks for taking care of us and the great food. Things to know: — They do not do add ons to pick-up orders. — Order before 10:30 for food to be ready in less than 30 minutes — Delivery sometimes takes 1 – 2 hours(not worth it) — I think Delivery should be free when order is over $ 100 — Save $ by ordering 6 packs(if 5 people order a chicken shawarma, just order a 6 pack — same price) — Always have the cashier repeat back the order before hanging up. Ask them so speak slowly — Always tip the staff

Shawarma is hands down the best in Detroit. Only three stars because the staff are indifferent, distracted, and just plain act like you’re bothering them. Three words: CHECKYOURBAG. Once you’re out of the building and notice food missing, management completely does not care. I know a bad review will not affect this restaurant’s business, but treating customers who are genuinely honest people who have better things to do than try and get a free $ 5.00 sandwich is just outright wrong.

Tasty stuff here! Awesome shawarma with great garlic flavor, and its healthy food too! It was crowded but I got my stuff fast and the staff’s attitude was pleasant. Great prices too. The Detroit-style customer service is Not as bad as I have read on other Unilocal postings, but I can see where that can become a problem if the management is not tuned into the problems.

This is a great place for a pita in the Corktown neighborhood. It is apparently a branch of a shop that is in Midtown/Downtown. The food is excellent, the service is good and the prices are more than fair. It is one of the better bargains in Detroit. I was bringing my son and his girlfriend home from the airport and he suggested we make a stop at this place. Since it was on the way, it was no trouble. The diminutive building was attractive and well-lit. There was plenty of parking in the lot beside it. The interior was very small and was a walk-up-and-order format. It was quite busy when we visited in spite of the fact that it was 9PM on a Sunday night. We found the servers to be reasonably friendly and efficient. We placed our order and waited for about 8 or 10 minutes for it to be filled. It was a little crowded but we decided to eat our food there in the shop. There were five stools around a very narrow counter on the perimeter of the waiting area. It was tight but we managed. It was clear the majority of their business was takeout. We ordered two Beef Shawarmas and a Chicken Shawarma. The latter was mine and it was absolutely delicious. I was quite happy with it while my son and his girlfriend were also happy with theirs. The prices were more than fair as our total for the three sandwiches was $ 15.87 with tax. The base price was $ 4.99 per pita. It was a great bargain as they were more than sufficient for a meal. Overall, this is a terrific spot to get an inexpensive and filling sandwich. The food is great, the service is good and the prices are outstanding. It’s one of the best bargains around. If you’re in the area, I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Tired of taco trucks and looking for something new? Stop by a Bucharest Grill for inexpensive and filling Mediterranean. With Schwarmas priced from $ 4-$ 6 and delicious and generous portions of curly fries, this spot is definitely a must for visitors to Detroit. My favorite thing is that their Schwarma is probably ¾ meat and ¼ veggies so eveb though it looks small, it fills you up quite a bit. This location in Corktown has very limited seating but has a parking lot. The downtown location has more seating but parking is more difficult. Service and customer service is definitely not the greatest here. The food is so good that they realize that they can get away with poorer service. During peak lunch and dinner hours, always call ahead if you want to avoid 30 minute long waits.

Work gets Bucharest atleast once a week, as long as orders are in by 11:10a we get our food by 12ish. With the large order we call in, I’m glad that they are able to get everything and correctly. Because my number is in the system, I don’t have to provide any info except my number and the ppl there are great. The delivery guys are awesome too! Food never disappoints and orders ranges from sliders to shawarma to salads. Thanks Mucho. –Kat

Absolutely excellent! We picked up a carry out for lunch and i got the Chicken Shawarma Salad w/chicken, lettuce, cucumbers and peppers — skipped the tomato, onion and pita chips. It was delicious. The dressing is an olive oil and vinegar based mix so for those fitness fans, it is a perfect meal. I added a side of garlic for some fat and a side of the home-style potatoes. They were sauteed potatoes with carrots and peppers and onions. So good… a perfect starch for lunch. The food was ready when we got there and they have online ordering which is extremely convenient. This is a new favorite!

Don’t waste your time. Go to the original location. The quality of food service is much better. I came here for the first time and I ordered my usual chicken shwarma and it was cold. I took it back and the guy behind the counter tried to tell me it wasn’t cold. I’m not coming back to this location, and I highly recommend that no one else does either.

I have had the hot dogs before, but would stick to their original Bucharest shawarma. This location does have parking but is carryout only. Overall, you cannot beat the fresh quality of ingredients and the quick service — definitely a Detroit staple!

We couldn’t ignore this place if we tried cause the whiffs of grilled-deliciousness will get to you as you cruise across Michigan Ave! At less than $ 5 a wrap, your hunger will cease to exist after only eating half a portion. The meat always has a grilled and juicy taste, the lettuce, tomato and pickles are crisp and the garlic sauce is pungent. There are some bar stools to sit on if you choose to dine in but it seems to be more of a take-out/delivery place(whenever we go, there are always tons of workers but no customers). It’s great to see businesses on Michigan Ave!!!

The same great quality, absolutely delicious and fresh food for the same great prices as the downtown location. MUCH easier parking, and, for me, just a few blocks from my home. Awesome! The not so awesome is that it manages to stay just as congested as the downtown one, and even less friendly. The girls who work the counter speak in such a dry tone, and have no objective other than to get you rung up and out of their face. Over the phone is even more difficult. With all the background noise it’s hard to tell when they’re talking to you or if it’s the person next to them taking a different order that I’m overhearing. Plus when I have called in my order they have gotten it wrong more than once. They’re so fast though, that if I want my chicken schawarma I’ll just run in rather than call ahead. I find I only have to wait a few minutes anyway. Overall, the food and prices are so good, it’s worth tolerating the other stuff!
