Well the food is always good each time I’ve been here my sandwiches come out good and taste fresh. The area is a little sketchy and definitely wouldn’t recommend coming at night after dark– if you want dinner come early! There are usually two people working and each time I’ve been here it’s never too busy. I come to this location because it’s pretty close and like I said, there’s never been a problem with my food. The service is quick each time but the staff members don’t seem too thrilled to be at work. I don’t think I’ve ever received a hi or how are you, welcome to subway– nada. But other than the somewhat scary location and under talkative staff, the sandwiches are good and I have a ton of gift cards which makes it even better getting a free meal– so what the heck I’ll definitely be back!

I would consider myself an expert on Subways. As anyone who frequents this chain knows, there are two types of Subways. There are Subways where the focus is on making the customer happy with a delicious dirt cheap meal and there are Subways that have the main focus of squeezing every dime out of a customer. You can usually tell by looking at how they serve chicken. The stores who focus on the food have a big tub of «chicken» and they scoop the«chicken» out onto your sandwich. The Subways that only care about taking your money have the pre-portioned cardboard trays with around 5 – 7 strips of «chicken» on them. This Subway implements that second system so that they can serve you the smallest amount of meat that they can. The manager of this subway gives off the vibe that he will do WHATEVER it takes to gain a penny from a customer. Forget about getting $ 6 footlongs at this location. I ordered a simple chicken breast that is always $ 6 at every other Subway in Denver; the manager proceeded to explain to me how it is company policy to wring up «chicken» breast as «chicken» teriyaki and thus charges $ 7 for it. I asked the manager how it made sense to charge the same price for a simple«chicken» breast and a «premium»(as Subway calls it) «Chicken» Cordon Blue(with the same amount of «chicken» and ham added on top) and he treated me like I was an idiot for asking. Another scheme that this manager implements is giving(and thus charging) customers for a large drink automatically when they order a combo. Every other Subway I have ever been gives customers a regular drink unless they specifically ask for a large. At this fast food restaurant customers have to ask not to be given a large drink and then be treated like they are in the wrong for doing so. In general, the manager at this location will act as though he is disappointed in you for not ordering a combo. I do not know if this is another cheap trick to save money but the standard«toasting» time at this restaurant is between ten and fifteen seconds; getting a sub«double toasted» at this location is just like a regular toast at any other location. I don’t blame every employee here for looking miserable every time I come in. The good thing about Subway is that they are all franchises and there is one on every other block. I will let another franchise owner earn my business because this one certainly has pushed me away.

As Subways go this is actually one of the better ones I’ve been to. They make a decent sandwich here. I know it’s just a Subway, but they’re all different. It’s too bad that all the loitering outside detracts from wanting to go to this location. I’m not sure what attracts the loiterers outside this Subway. It’s possibly the large bus stop nearby. Either way its sucks and drives me nuts. I hate being harassed when I’m in a hurry to grab some lunch. Go about your business and leave me and other people alone.
