Just don’t do it. Quoted 1 hour for delivery, 25 minutes for pickup, so we choose pickup. Ended up taking a total of 40 minutes… and the food was not good. Three of us ate there all three with different meals and the General Tso’s Chicken and Sesame Chicken were both dry… and obviously old. They had definitely been sitting there for a while before being served to us, not fresh at all, which is weird considering we had to wait an extra 10 – 15 minutes AFTER the quoted pick up time of 25 minutes. If we had to wait so long, why was the food so old? I got the spicy tofu with vegetables… it was spicy… but the tofu was tasteless, NOT like other spicy tofu I’ve had at other Chinese restaurants. The tofu chunks were huge, I don’t know anyone that likes tofu THATMUCH to enjoy their huge chunks. I got an almost instant stomach ache and didn’t even finish half of my food. I got the egg drop wonton mix soup, which had pork filled dumplings and slices of pork in it… gross. I wanted egg drop soup, which I should have just gotten the normal egg drop, because I don’t eat pork and it was everywhere in it. We also got crab rangoons, which weren’t bad, but weren’t fresh at all, which again… why did we wait 40 minutes for old, dry, unappetizing food? Just do yourself a favor and trust the bad reviews, they’re not lying. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt after reading all the low reviews, but definitely shouldn’t have. The one good review must have really hit them on a good day or something.

I work nearby and grab lunch here almost every week. The people are friendly and the food is great — and you get plenty for the price. The sesame chicken is my all-time favorite, but I also really love the Wonton Mix Egg Drop Soup, which I haven’t seen any other place. It’s like a more substantial version of classic egg drop soup, with BIG dumplings. This is my go-to for Chinese food in Aurora.

The place was dirty and the food was sub par. Really dry rice, accompanied with really soggy meats. We ordered orange chicken and cream cheese wontons for take out. The chicken was submerged in sauce and there was so much soggy breading, hardly any meat, and the rice was terrible. It’s also pretty hard to mess up cream cheese wontons so at least they got that somewhat correct, the sauce for it though tasted old or something, it just wasn’t normal by any means. The location is not the best either, honestly thought we were going to get robbed. This has nothing to do with the restaurant but there was a group of thugs hanging in front of the place so we parked a few spots away. Then when we were leaving, they were near our car waiting for us to leave. Nothing happened but it was sketchy.

I placed an order which was over the amount for the delivery. Twenty minutes later they call me back to say the were out of something I ordered and that they didn’t have anything to replace it. They will not deliver. I explain to them it is not my fault they ran out of food; the caller put the manager on the phone. I asked if they had something they could replace it with and said no and that he was canceling the order… Then hung up with some fake apology… I was like what!!! The audacity to be ruled to a customer. I will never order from them again. It not like the food was all that anyway!!!

WORSTCHINESERESTRAUNTEVER! DONOTDOBUSINESSHERE!!! Tonight we decided to order Chinese and ordered 1 order Sesame Chicken, 1 order egg fried rice, and a small egg drop soup. I also specifically asked to not have steamed rice as the free side, I paid an extra $ 1.00 for fried rice. Total order was $ 21.57 They say 40 – 45 minutes, so when my food arrives in less than 35 mins, I was happy. I tipped the guy, thanked him, and went inside. Opening the food, I was horrified. The sesame chicken was cold, soggy, and disgusting, the rice was half cooked and covered in oil, and of course, I get a side order of steamed rice, even though I specifically asked and paid for fried rice. I call them, tell them about it, and this guy starts arguing with me on the phone. I told him I’d bring his food back and I wanted a refund. He agrees but says«we’ll refund you for what’s left». I scrape the food off of our plates and take it back to him. I get there, and he starts arguing with me in front of two customers saying that he gave me a full container of sesame chicken and I «ate almost half»(even though it was nearly full to the brim. I obviously had to taste it to figure out it was garbage. At this point, I was irrate. I told him to stand by his crappy food and told him to taste it if he thought it was worth sending to people. He refused to taste the food. I tried to show him a picture of the food on our plates, and he wouldn’t even acknowledge it. He said to me «we’ve been here 12… no.13 years, and that’s because our food is good.» After we argue, I tell him I’m not leaving without a refund because the food was absolute garbage. Finally, he agrees to refund me, but only gives me $ 19 of my $ 21.57, saying I ate some of the food. INFRONTOFCUSTOMERS!!! Please Please Please do not order from this place. It is terrible food, and you are supporting a terrible business and a terrible owner.

Based on TAKEOUT. There are days when sometimes, I am so worn out either to cook from LIFE and other commitments so when I came across the MENU of New China Chef, I ask Hubs to go to New China Chef for Take Out. Friday May 11th2012. 21:35hrs ish TAKEOUTDINNER We order the following items from the Menu : * T-Bone Steak with Fried Rice($ 7.99 + $ 1.00) My order * T-Bone Steak with Fries($ 7.99) Hub’s Order * Appetizer of Spicy Fried Chicken Wings 8 wings($ 4.95) * Crab Cream Cheese Wontons(8 pieces)($ 3.95) * Small Sesame Chicken($ 5.65) We specifically asked for our T-Bone Steaks to be cooked WELL-DONE. In which, New China Chef obliged. The T-Bone Steaks were HUGE, though I cant deny some portions of the T-Bone Steaks are All-FATs… Both the Shrimp Fried Rice and Crab Cream Cheese Wontons were just A-OK. The Shrimp from the Shrimp Fried Rice was the tiny ones, and its just a few pieces in the fried rice. I was slightly disappointed with the Spicy Fried Chicken Wings, coz for one, though its spicy but ITDOESNOTWOW me at all. Big Bummer. *Sad Face* If I am not mistaken, after they fried the chicken wings, they just tossed it with chilli oil. Do take note, our order of T-Bone Steaks comes with Soda Pop in plastic bottles in which if I am not mistaken again you have to add $ 1 for the Soda Pop. We opt for Coke Cola(Hubs) and Fanta Pineapple(mine). I forgot to take pictures of those(Soda Pop) and the Small Sesame Chicken dish in which Hubs already devoured them. So from the receipt it reflects different pricing from the Paper Menu we received. From the Paper Menu and the receipt of our orders, the prices reflected are different when I realized after having our dinner that evening at home. Perhaps the next time, if we were return for a Take Out, we should clarify the different pricing with the Owner. All in all, A-OK Take Out Dinner from New China Chef. New China Chef has an extensive menu and a rather eclectic one at that. Not really innovative, but has great prices, large portions, and the entrees are tasty. I had more than a dozen people over and we ordered delivery and it was delivered promptly and piping hot and smelled fantastic. My chicken with snow peas had plenty of chicken along with snow peas an carrots in a brown sauce. It wasn’t awe-inspiring, but it was pretty darned good. The only complaint I heard was from a co-worker who ordered a «healthy» entrée who found it rather bland. Otherwise, everyone else seemed to really enjoy their selections. Given the scarcity of restaurants in the Gateway/Montbello/Green Valley Ranch area, it is nice to have a decent Chinese takeout place just minutes away.
