Only reason I give this spot a 3 is one reason and one reason only: $ 20 Saturdays. You pay $ 20 to get in and its an open bar!!! They play pretty good hip hop and old school joints. I have yet to go on any other day, I can not tell you what a Friday is like in this place. When Saturday comes around… GOANDDRINK!!!

This place is absolutely disgusting. I had purchased a Living Social deal… for $ 19 you got four cocktails and two small plates, valued at $ 49(allegedly). I made plans to meet a friend there at 7pm on a Tuesday night. I walked in at 7pm sharp and the place was EMPTY. There was a waitress sitting at the bar and a guy with a laptop(presumably the manager? or owner?) sitting alongside her. The place was silent and the lights were dim — not the classy tapas bar in Cherry Creek that I was imagining. They told me they were open and to take a seat wherever I’d like… the filthy white pleather couches were definitely not an option so I chose a stool close to the door. After sitting there for a few minutes, the waitress got up off her bar stool and came over with a menu(just so you have a visual, the menu was a short list of bar snacks, printed on a blue piece of paper). I ordered a cocktail, which they did not have the correct ingredients for, so I settled on a flavored mojito that the waitress recommended. Ten minutes later, I received my drink. We had browsed the tapas menu online earlier that day so we had a good idea of what we wanted to order. However the menu(blue piece of paper I mentioned previously) did not contain any of the items listed on the website. Instead of truffle french fries and an artisan cheese plate, we were offered nachos, wings and hummus. The manager/owner guy told us that the chef had quit, so they were unable to serve anything from their online menu(hmmm, might want to consider hiring a replacement?) We went with the hummus and the nachos, thinking they were the only two things that sounded remotely appetizing, and were appalled when the two plates finally reached our table. The hummus was clearly scooped from a grocery store container and the pita bread it was served with was cold and stale. The nachos were a joke… tostito chips with SQUEEZECHEESE and a few tomatoes splashed on top for color. We didn’t finish either plate(and they were SMALL). At MOST I would say that this entire meal was worth $ 10, but seeing as how I paid $ 19, I felt ripped off. To top it all off, a couple in their mid-50s had settled into one of the filthy white couches nearby and begun a serious make-out session in the middle of our meal. If the filth wasn’t enough to make sick, the service, the quality and the middle-aged make-outers certainly were. I will never ever consider returning to this place. I am shocked that it is still in business.

I was organizing group last Friday and we had our first meetup at Minibar We were around 15 people, most of them like the place because of the good musc and foods, drinks are cheap too as we got happy hour price I recommended this place if you are coming with a group as they gave you discount … The place is mini but cozy. Love the interior, parking is easy to find. The owner Bill is a nice person, he is welcoming people in the entrance So yeah I recommended this place :)

Same story as many others: We went with the idea of food around 7:30 on a Saturday night. Completely dead, but they still managed to take forever to help us. The Mac & Cheese had no other description on the menu, but it came with ham, which made it useless for my vegetarian wife. Her food was obviously just out of a microwave. Maybe this place is a great nightclub, but we thought it was also a restaurant, and we won’t be back.

Cherry Creek does it again. I don’t know what it is about Cherry Creek but they continue to outdo themselves in terms of the worst service in the metro area. Now I should have seen the writing on the wall when minibar was the advertised local deal on travelzoo where I paid $ 19 for a voucher of drinks and appetizers worth $ 47 supposedly. Right from the get go things were bleak. We walked in without a simple greeting and sat ourselves down at one of the white love seats facing the bar. The waitress walked by us several times without a simple«hi» or «I’ll be right there.» Then finally after 10 minutes she came up and asked what we would like. I presented the coupon to which she took our order. The drinks did not take long to arrive, however I had requested a mini-mojito and received in its place a spicy pear. My wife acutely questioned the appearance of the drink and I tasted it to verify that it was in fact not a mojito. I walked up to the bar and explained that my order had been delivered incorrectly to which the waitress apologized and made me another one. Meanwhile my wife was none to impressed with her«cougartini» which was nothing more than a glorified margarita. When I received my replacement drink it became apparent quickly that they overcompensated for cheap liquor with an extra sweet artificial mix. Oh well I thought, that is the risk you take when you gamble on a «groupon style» promotion. If crappy drinks would have been followed by subpar appetizers then I would have chalked it up as a learning experience and moved on. Shortly we learned it was just the beginning of a slow motion train wreck. The waitress brought our two appetizers, which were wrong on both accounts. My wife and I were dumbfounded. How could the waitress error three out of the four times with us already? Our feathers were a little ruffled to say the least, but we trudged on like kids of yesteryear walking to school in one of those fabled snow storms. We returned both items to the bar counter and explained what we had actually ordered to which the bartender/manager apologized. My wife could not finish her initial drink as it was poorly made and asked me to finish it for her. She took the menu up to the bar as she felt at that point she would have a better chance making the order there, as our waitress had gone AWOL for some time now. I’m not kidding when I say my wife stood there for a good ten minutes with the menu in her hand as the three attendants behind the bar ignored her. As my wife was still standing at the bar our food came out of the kitchen and the bartender/manager brought it to our table. My wife came back to our seat clearly upset from being ignored and deservedly so. At this point I told him that the service was incredibly horrible to which he gave an initial superficial apology. I stated that was unacceptable to which he said«Why are you badgering me? I already said sorry.» With my wife and I feeling totally disrespected, I told him we were out of there and that he was going to get a negative review on Unilocal. He laughed at me sarcastically when I said that, showing me that he cared nothing of such things. We walked out of there never to return.

Me and the Mrs. never get to frequent places like this anymore seeing as how we have two rugrats. On a recent night out without the kids in tow, we took full advantage and dropped in here for a drink. I went with a Manhattan. The bartender wasn’t very confident in her execution of said drink but it still came out good. My wife opted for the complimentary champagne, can’t mess that up. The music was ok. The DJ spun a mix of dance tracks, random old school soul, and pop/rap songs. We really didn’t hang out to long, mostly because there weren’t many places in this small joint to lounge because everything was reserved. I guess the outdoor patio could be great for smoking a cigar and having a drink if the weather’s good of course. The crowd was mostly trendy young folks and a few older denizens trying their best to blend in. This is the kind of place where what you look like matters so don’t be surprised if you’re ignored in favor of more attractive patrons. I’m not complaining because it comes with the territory. The seats at the bar are those retro designed wobbly plastic ones you can buy at Target or somewhere; not a good thing, especially if you’ve been drinking. Overall it’s just not the kind of place where I’m most comfortable. I would recommend this places for folks who are attracted to the clubby style of nightlife options, you won’t be disappointed.

We tried Mini Bar last night. It was horrible. Here’s why: Décor — think cheesy nightclub — frosted acrylic, white«leather» couches, and the place was dirty as hell. The place seemed like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. The bar was filthy, which brings me to my next gripe — the bartender, who probably could have wiped down the bar, but didn’t. He also complained to us that we were«making him work» by ordering drinks off the drink menu. The drinks were so-so. Mojito, some sort of run/raspberry thing, a martini(with some disgusting olives), then there was the wine issue. My wife asked for a wine list. Bartender informed her that they don’t have a wine list. They only have«house wine», and it’s «shitty». Nice. She had a beer. We really wanted to leave at this point, but figured we would try the food. Tried a Made Rite Microbun, «Kobe”(yeah, right) Microbun, and Chicken bun. All were mediocre at best. Made Rite was a grease bomb. Kobe was leathery, chicken was a festival of mayonaisse. Looking in the kitchen I see that they use a microwave a lot. It shows. We had a bite of each and got the hell out of there. If you like dirty, Jersey Shore-esque establishments with lazy bartenders and bad food, this place is for you.

I’ve only been here for happy hours, and I can say, based on that experience, I can’t imagine what this place is like after 10 pm. It has a weird, kind of 80’s atmosphere about it that I just don’t feel comfortable in– I think it is all the pink, a pepto bismal shade. The bartender consistently ignores me when I wait at the bar. The waitresses are better and will actually take drink orders and are polite. The place is like it says– mini. It is small, with a wall of tables and another nook for seating. They do use the outdoor patio for extra space with some kind of weird cabana feel to it. No pink outside. Not a lot of food choices for me as a vegetarian, and the drinks for a happy hour are a little high priced for me– $ 6 for a tiny martini or a tiny mojito.(They really do use the name«mini» in the drink list, not a great marketing ploy.)

miniBAR is like the BlackEyedPeas performance at the Superbowl. Just…hotmess nonsense. Why people bother spending money on opening such a less-than mediocre establishment, when Denver is just climbing out of it’s zombie state as a food city?!! Can anyone explain this to me? I want my 2 hours back!

I liked this place! I don’t get out much these days and thought it might be a little too shi-shi for my taste, but it was fun! the bartenders were really nice, the drinks were really well priced, which we weren’t expecting in cherry creek! I wish we had come during the summer because their patio looks awesome. Will have to come back.

Been here a few times. Really picks up as the evening progresses. Owner is very cool, so is the chef. Apps are good; sweet potato fries, the chicken«microbuns». Yum. Bartenders are always thoroughly engaging and attentive and the drinks are great. Wait staff is friendly and again, attentive. The Minibar has a tented fire pit area outside which is fun, even in the winter. Demographic tends to range from 20s to 40s, emphasis on the 20s. Sometimes Rockstr Aaron DJs, too, which is always terrific. Anytime I’m in Cherry Creek for the night, MiniBar is a necessary stop, for sure.

To follow up on my last review, I gave MiniBar a second chance on a Tuesday night with some friends of mine. Our waitress was really friendly, even though she was the only one bartending and serving the tables as well. As a result the service was a bit slow but not awful. The cook himself was hustling plates of food out to the tables. Kudos to them for making the best of apparently being short staffed. I asked the bartender if she knew how to make a Manhattan, and at least she was honest when she told me she couldn’t. Honestly, though, a Manhattan is a whiskey martini for all intents and purposes. How can a bartender not know how to make this classic cocktail? This was the second time out of two where I wanted a Manhattan and the bartender couldn’t make me one, so I opted for Jack and Coke instead. We ordered the Kobe beef sliders which were fresh, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and delicious. The New Mexico chicken sliders were tender, moist, and very good as well. The sweet potato fries were overcooked and burnt on the ends, but the dipping sauce was delicious. The tapas plate(hummus, olive tapenade, and red pepper relish) was fresh and pretty good. Overall, I think MiniBar does some things right(most of the food) and they have some areas of opportunity along the lines of service and cocktail making. It’s a cool location and perhaps they can staff it properly(meaning enough servers) and find bartenders who know how to make classic cocktails.

I’ve been to Mini Bar a few times now for meetups and it’s always been a good time. They have some cool unique drinks and all the usual stuff. The staff is friendly and gives great service, which is pretty impressive with how busy it gets. The patio is a lot of fun and makes for a good atmosphere It’s a cool place and I’ll definitely be back.

What a disappointment. I had such high hopes for the place after reading some great reviews. I had girls night recently and I called the bar to make a reservation. The nice gentleman on the phone indicated that Hickenlooper was having an event on the patio but that the inside was wide open so off we went. I arrived at 5 and asked our waitress for a drink menu to which she responded, «we don’t have one.» I sort of didn’t know how to react to I asked if she had any drink specials and she said there was really only one drink special and that it was $ 6. As we waited for the other ladies to arrive, I asked the waitress for a food menu and she pointed to a mirror by the bar with something written with a dry erase marker. Her comment, «it’s on the wall.» Gee, thanks! I’m so happy that you couldn’t take the time to read me the FOUR items written on the mirror. I was really confused at this point because the website clearly has a happy hour menu, food menu, and drink menu. How does that work? When I mentioned the menu to our waitress, she replied with«we’re in the middle of revamping our menu so this is all we have, sorry.» We all wanted to leave but we were waiting for 3 more girls and couldn’t. One of the girls in our group decided she would go with the cheese plate but she wanted to know what kinds of cheeses that came with so she asked the waitress what came on that cheese plate. Waitresses response: «cheese, fruit, and crackers.» I really have no desire to ever go back there again. If I wanted OK drinks served with a little bit of pretentiousness and bad service, I would have gone to Monarch. Oh wait, I can’t; they went out of business. Wow.

Went here with a group of friends and had a great time. The bartenders were very nice and hooked us up! We got a free bottle of vodka(it didn’t hurt that my friend new the bartender) but he proceeded to give us free drinks all night. The crowd was a bit older than what I’m used to(early 30s) and there were a ton of cougars, but hey, it’s Cherry Creek. Overall, great experience with very a very helpful staff. I will be back!

$ 20 All You Can Drink!?! Hello… this is the best deal ever! This is not your typical place where they dust off the Skoal vodka plastic jugs, we were drinking Grey Goose, Skyy, top shelf stuff and red bull, as well as shots! Fortunately, we have a friend who works here and she told us about this Friday night blessing. Unfortunately, you don’t exactly know when these $ 20 nights are going to happen. BUT, I talked with the owner(super cool and does fundraisers) and you have to become a Facebook fan, so you should probably do that as soon as possible. The food is tasty, a little on the expensive side, but when you’re drinking a well-mixed cocktail for a cheap price, it doesn’t always matter. Needless to say, I left Minibar very content and woke up Saturday very unhappy. PS — I love the pink walls.

Sex and the City meets Cherry Creek. First off, this isn’t my kind of place but when I’m being dragged out with friends because I’m home for vacation what can one possibly do. MiniBar features pretty much everything that caters to women, from Pink walls, to champagne specials to small light kitchen fare. The food looked tasty although I didn’t try any. The drinks(be prepared to drink ‘foo ‘foo Vodka here folks) seemed to have a light pour… not good. The service was OKAY at best, more of a «look at me, look at me» type of attitude than anything. Oh well, live and learn.

I was with a group last night and tried a bunch of things. Here is what I thought of everything: Spiced nuts — great. Crostini — weakest item, but fine. Deviled eggs — only deviled eggs I have ever liked, and I loved them. Chicken quesadilla — delicious. Medjool dates — delicious. Caprese salad — fine. Shrimp — very good. BBQ baby back ribs — great. Homemade Kit Kat bars w/vanilla ice cream — really great. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the service was great.
