I have been to Maloney’s several times. A friend of mine has an annual Mardi Gras pub crawl and Maloney’s is the last stop. We have several events through out the year that we host at Maloney’s. The pub crawl brings in a lot of crazy fun people-my guess would be 80 – 100 patrons most years. Maybe the place is always busy late on Saturday nights-I don’t know but at 8:00 p.m. when I got there, the bar only had about 10 people in it. My point is the annual pub crawl brings in a lot of business. The service was great. That many people in a short amount of time can overwhelm a bar but Maloney’s staff did a great job. I had a grilled cheese off the $ 5.00 menu and it was pretty darn yummy! My only complaint is really about the price of the drinks and the lack of specials for a group that brings in a lot of business and has shown a lot of loyalty to Maloney’s. Come on Maloney’s-where’s the love?

I understand that this is a bar in the LODO area of Denver but I had to write a review for the sake of clarifying to others what they need to be on their toes about here. I happened to have been here before on occasions other than this particular Friday night and it is an ok place. Here is the issue with the tavern. Maloney’s Tavern was empty with the exception of a handful of people on a Friday night at 8:45 pm. I sat down at the bar along side my friend who had arrived 20 minutes earlier. I was waited on in short order and that is great. The problem comes up when less than 30 minutes later a large # of people descended on the bar — a group of mardi gras revelers on a pub crawl(of which I was a part). I completely understand that when the bar gets busy you can expect a wait for service. But what is not acceptable is the fact than when I left my seat at the bar for a period of 20 minutes(which is an easy thing to do at a bar if you are a girl and have to go to the bathroom and out to smoke or just to chat with a friend across the room) you took my ½ full beer off the bar and dumped it! I drove myself and I had gone out to move my car to a different meter and I came back, chatted briefly with another friend that had arrived and then went back to the bar and found my beer was gone. If my half beer was at a table where people wanted to sit and NOT at the bar, I could understand. This is nothing short of a ripoff. I pay $ 6.50 for a pint of corporate beer(blue moon, guiness, fat tire) and you throw it out before I can finish it. At least when I attend a sporting event and don’t have a choice other than the overpriced options, I get to actually enjoy the whole thing. Additionally, you have a long-term customer who has brought in his expansive group of friends for a «pre-Fat Tuesday» Mardi Gras pub crawl to your establishment for 11 years now and you don’t have one single drink special AND you throw out your client’s half finished overpriced beverage. I won’t be back anytime soon because it is simply ludicrous to pull that stunt on paying patrons. Perhaps it works too well for the young and really stupid drunk crowd that cares more about the location than on the money they lose to your establishment.

I recently visited this place with a friend to have some food and drinks. I thought the service was good and the bartender was very attentive to us but I would later learn that the bar tender was a bit too attentive. Without ordering a new drink, one would magically appear. And then shots started to randomly appear without having ordered them. I assumed that we were just being taken care of since it was a slow night. The bartender then told us that our tab was getting«up there». A few drinks, some $ 1 sliders and the shots that we never ordered amounted to $ 220. I was shocked. I was informed that the drinks were expensive because we were drinking«double talls,» also something that we didn’t order. In the future, I’ll be taking my business to somewhere where I don’t feel taken advantage of.

This is a bar that caters to the«Late night shots crowd» I was in early on a Saturday night to meet about 30 people for a birthday party. We had the place mostly to ourselves till about 8. The Staff was great and very accommodating. Their $ 5.00 menu can not be beat. Lots of options and portions are great for 5.00. 3 sliders and your choice of 4 different kind of fries for 5.00? Oh yes. it’s true! We had a blast and will be back again.

Came in first time for Bingo Night. Terrible service at the bar. Bartenders were extremely rude, sassy, and very unaccommodating. Couldn’t keep the orders straight and didn’t know the differ eve between a pale ale and an IPA. Being in the industry, this is not how you treat customers…

Normally I would give this place 4 or 5 stars but tonight was just horrible. I’ve been going to Monday bingo for over 6 months now and 99% of the time rack up a hefty bill will the group of eight or more I usually attend with. If you do go to Maloney’s on Monday for bingo make sure you steer clear of the server Jillian, she inattentive and rude. Tonight we had a smaller group of only four and most of us had a prior event we attended therefore we hadn’t ordered any food this evening. Because of this she had the audacity to ask us to «get the f**k out» because we had only had ordered one drink at that point because«I am only making $ 2 off your table», 9 pm. We knew that our bill would be lower than our usual large amount but still planned on tipping her accordingly even though she hadn’t been that attentive in the first place. After she said this we tried to explain to her that we had planned to order more drinks and that we would like to talk to management or the other server who usually serves our group. After she refused we decided to leave as she was no help. At the door I asked the bouncer to talk to management and he asked what was going on to which I explained. She then walked out to confront us in front of the bouncer. Watch out for rude service from this girl. She is scary and rude.

It’s fun — good music and space to dance. Drinks reasonably priced. I have been there about 8 times now. The people there are really nice.

I love exploring cool«hip» places downtown, but this one is not one I’ll be back at anytime soon. I thought I’d take some friends there as I had a decent experience there before. But as one reviewer stated, it only takes one bad visit to leave a sour taste in your mouth. To start, the bouncer was completely rude to a friend from out of town… not a great first impression for someone I’m showing around my city. Also, the bartender was not friendly at all. When asking about drink specials he was extremely curt. This was after the obnoxiously long wait to even be acknowledged. It wasn’t even busy(around 9pm) to warrant such a long wait. It’s as if we were an inconvenience to him. The beer(for how low-rent the brand… I think Bud Light or something equally piss-flavored on «special») was crazy expensive! When I opted to pay for an even more expensive, yet better, beer, I was informed that they were out. We ended up paying for our over-priced drinks, slamming them, and moving on to a better place around LoDo… ya know… ANYOTHERBAR.

Came here for the first time before a concert and it was very good! The tap beer was the coldest I think I’ve ever had! The food was great with large portions and the best prices probably anywhere downtown! Will for sure make this a regular stop on my future trips to Denver!

Eww. The carpet(yes I said carpet… in a bar) smells like mildew. The bathroom was gross. The food was clearly frozen stuff that had been microwaved. The bartender was nice though, and the only other upside is the location.

Look elsewhere, these people are a bunch of idiots. Got refused service because I was in shorts. Really you give out dildos on Mondays, real classy! Find a new place, people! Not what they used to be! I’d do zeros stars if this app let me!

Came in last night for the first time in years and I was pleasantly surprised. I always avoided his place because I’m not much of a beer drinker, but stumbled in here while showing some friends from out of town around, as they were huge beer drinkers. What I found was totally different than what I’d seen in the past. First of all, I thought I was at the beach. The entire floor was covered in sand and there were inflatable beach themed props throughout. The music playing was super fun– rock classics and some country and some top 40. Drunk Melanie thoroughly enjoyed the music selection, lots of dancing was done. Prices were decent for downtown, as well. If I’m wandering in the area I will stop by again!

WOW! Went to Maloney’s on Sunday night with a group of friends. First of all, my boyfriend and I ordered several drinks. The night was winding down and we wanted some waters to hydrate. The bartender charged us $ 4 for two small waters… WHAT?! Needless to say I did not tip for a water in a plastic cup… Just looking at my bank statement now, I see a charge for $ 4.80. THISISILLEGAL! PLEASEEDUCATEYOURWAITSTAFFBEFORETHEYENDUPINJAILFORDOINGTHINGSLIKETHIS!!! I tried calling Maloney’s to speak with a manager and no one answers the phone… TYPICAL.

Staff and service was great. Had a party of 40 people and the staff, Sean, Katie and Lex were amazing. Fast drink returns and great venue to have a large gathering. Thank you Maloney’s.

This review is strictly for the night I had here New Years Eve. My wife and I stumbled upon this place after leaving from a terrible experience at Tiltedkilt. Thank god we did, we had a blast. There was plenty of bar seating and my wife loved that she could place her jacket and purse on a hook under the bar. We arrived at 8:00pm with only about 40 people there. Everything was clean, nicely organized and decorated for the occasion. The staff was very friendly and seemed like they were genuinely enjoying there night there. Prices were fair for the area. There was a Dj for the occasion and played all the greatest hits that my wife and I like to dance to. People started pouring in and what was originally my small group dancing like fools soon turned into one big dance party. They gave out free Champaign and did a countdown for midnight. I spent plenty of New Years in bars, this was by far the best experience Ive had in one. Great job guys.

Forbidden Bingo was a lot of fun! The drinks kept coming and they weren’t stingy with the Patron. My friends and I had a ball and one from the group even won a nice toy to take home!

Good service when you get there early, cheaper than most downtown locations. what sets this place out though are the activities from beer pong to bags, to pool and darts. Its a good hangout and the place is big enough to accommodate. Im not a huge fan of downtown bars, but this place won me over.

When I was in college this was my favorite bar in the world. I still love it, and for sentimental reasons I want to give it 5 stars. But, after exploring the world a bit, I don’t think it really earns them. The booths are broken and uncomfortable, and there is always a weird smell in the air. It’s like a mix of chlorine and sweat? It’s always been that way, and I would know the smell anywhere. This place can be super packed or super dead – it’s always random. I never know what it’s going to be like on any given night, but it’s always a good time. The drinks are good and cheap, the staff is nice, and the sunken bar is really neat. Also, Bingo at Maloney’s is always a treat. There is one aspect of Maloney’s that I hate, though. The bathroom. First, the doors are always broken and that’s annoying. Second, they have a bathroom attendant for a reason I can never figure out. It’s stupid. I hate it. But, I keep coming here. It’s full of memories and I love all the framed pictures on the walls. :)

Well as much as I said I wouldn’t return, I have. But only for Forbidden Bingo on Monday nights. And I have to give serious props to the bartenders on those nights because it can get busy, and they hustle! Bingo is full of adult humor, adult(XXX) prizes, and is hosted by a very entertaining fellow. The DJ is great too! Guaranteed good music between games. Almost makes me wish they had a legit dance floor. I’d recommend sitting at the bar during Bingo to ensure prompt drinks and refills. Those monster mugs they serve beer in are heavy and you don’t want to have to be lugging yours across the way to get to/from the bar; and there is only one cocktail waitress that I saw. They have a good selection of beers on tap, and of course full bar offerings. The food is typical bar food, but it’s on special all night for $ 5 each, for a good portion of food too! Served until 10 pm. The space itself is pretty divey and run down. The bathrooms borderline disgusting by 10 pm. I do have to say, this last time I was here, I found it ridiculous they have an «attendant» in the men’s restroom. That man was so bored! If you’re going to have an attendant, I think women would appreciate it more especially because when you’re drinking those huge beers you certainly go more than the guys! Overall, I can’t guarantee I won’t come back, but if I do it’s only for B-I-N-G-O! Because otherwise, this is not a bar I want to sit and hang out at.

This is a place at which you can order both drinks and«food». I had a beer there. It was beer, of a modest selection. I also had«food» which was the saltiest sandwich I’ve ever had in my entire life. The bartender carded my dad, I liked that part. They have televisions, and one of them had hockey on. I watched that hockey. If it weren’t for the loud music and glowing televisions this place would be so unremarkable it would blend into the buildings beside it; you wouldn’t even know it was there.
