I’ve been here a couple times and they were both very different experiences! The first time was the night that me and three others were going to the price is right show at Bellco! The manager was dressed as dapper as possible and welcomed us! We sat and chatted with him for a while because his girlfriend is a fanatic for the price is right! It was great! We ordered a good amount of sushi and the green chili egg roll is a MUST! They even bought us a round of drinks! Fantastic! The second time, I was with a buddy of mine and we met 5 other friends there after the holm/Rousey fight. It was a madhouse! There were a ton of people there and there was a Dj, with a disco ball of course! We ordered a couple rounds of drinks but after having my butt grabbed by a couple ladies, we decided to move the party along. I’m intrigued(of course, right!), but confused! What goes on here on a Saturday night?! I might have to do some recon… all for the sake of the Unilocal community of course!

We sat in this restaurant for 3 hours and spent hundreds of dollars only to find out their valet service hit a curb with my car and didn’t tell us until we were ready to leave. They attempted to change my tire without my permission but the only reason they didn’t was because they couldn’t locate my tire lock key. The valet driver appeared high and almost didn’t seem to understand the validity of my complaint as to why they couldn’t tell me from the very beginning about the condition of my car. Them, when my friend who was upset, understandably, expressed his disappointment, one of the managers told him«I’m going to deal with him because you’re not the driver!» Never… ever…will I touch this restaurant’s grounds again. And it’s unfortunate because the bartenders are awesome.

Such amazing food, service and ambiance. Denver’s gem! We ate there twice during our honeymoon visit, and they made it so special. Special applause to top server named Ben. Definitely try the Kobe beef sushi! Unforgettable.

Go here for pre theatre cocktails!!! Been a few times and it never fails to disappoint! The staff welcomed our group of 10 and served everyone very fast! Also, I asked our bartender for blue cheese stuffed olives and he made them in the spot!

We arrived about 5:30 for a pre-theater dinner. Warmly greeted by our server Taylor, we were seated at a quiet table and offered water and he took our drink order right away. After he brought out our German Reisling, we decided to start with an appetizer of oysters on the half shell and shrimp cocktail. Both served very fresh and presented nicely. Deciding against a heavy dinner we selected another appetizer they named CHARCUTERIE. It was a great combination of cheeses, meats and toast points. Perfect dinner. Taylor was gracious and attentive. Will definitely return to enjoy other menu options.

Go for the sushi and the champagne. Skip the fillet., Fillet arrived overcooked(grey inside) so I sent it back. Soon another overcooked fillet arrived. Waiter and manager both explained away the sad state of the meat by explaining that they use a sous vide cooker. Unfortunately, this means that it wasn’t an off night. it was an actual choice. I’m told the sushi was good. Warning for guys. Bathroom doesn’t have enough a door. Seriouly. Turn a corner and there are the urinals. Very odd place.

I love this place. The food is great and the setting is chic but not stuffy. They have a good selection of bubbles by the glass which is hard to come by in this town. They always have awesome music and bring in some solid DJs(my favorite is Already Sweaty and I’m not the only person who feels that way). Now let’s get to the staff. These people are amazing. Always a guaranteed great night with happy, good looking people pouring great drinks. The owner is a good guy that spends his time working hard to grow his business and support others in the industry(he is also not horrible to look at and I’m not the only person who feels that way either). I highly recommend this spot to anyone that is thirsty and likes fun.

Service was excellent to say the least. Sushi was on point and the drinks were strong. No complaints at all. At night it turns into a nightclub and the music is awesome. One of the best lounges in Denver. Would definitely come back again.

Met some girlfriends frim work here and it was way more than i expected. Staff was amazing. managers were fun and engaging. We came foe happy hour stayed for the partying. Food was reasonably priced. You have to take in consideration the location and atmosphere. There is $ 12 valet parking. well worth it in the downtown area especially if you plan to stay for a while.

My friends and I came here from out of town due to a deal we got on Living Social. However there was an event going on that cost $ 20 at the door. After speaking to the owner, he waved us in, and even bought us an entrée of yellow tail! The sushi was very good and so was the service.

I find myself coming here more and more. At first I didn’t know what to think but lately I’ve found myself choosing to eat or drink here almost weekly. Excellent staff, great crowd, and always just a fun time. Their management is incredibly involved and friendly and it shows! I can”t review a specific experience because I’ve been here so often lately, but I will say I came here for Happy Hour before seeing Motown: The Musical and the sushi was on point. Definitely try that here. Also, I’ve heard raves about the warm spinach salad. Stop in and see for yourself!

Hmmm. Shouldn’t they be called«Happy Hours» if they last for more than just one? .. . So each week the world’s most beautiful woman and I have our Wednesday Night Date Night. For our anniversary every year one of her presents is a season’s pass to one of the DCPA play packages. Usually that includes something like 8 plays during the winter/spring season. And when those plays come up(they’re scheduled on Wednesdays, our date night:), we’re always looking for a place where we can grab a quick bite before the show. Enter the Epernay Lounge. For a long time we used to hit up Happy Hour at The Corner Office, but that has become so HH-crowded that there’s rarely even a seat at the bar open these days. Looking for close-by alternatives we saw the Epernay Lounge across the street and decided to give it a try. Maybe it crowds up later in the evening(?), but every time we’ve gone in(just before 6 p.m. until just before play time at 7:30 p.m.), the place has been lightly used and we’ve never had a problem getting a booth or sitting at the bar for their HH treats. Best deals are the truffle mac & cheese, the spinach salad with bacon, blue cheese and poached egg(!), and their spicy shrimp(not tuna) roll. They’ve got a very good selection of $ 3 bottled beer and half-price wines available and the folks have always been really really nice. Can’t talk about how they do with their regular menu, but when it comes to providing a place for a good HH before a show, the Epernay Lounge fills the bill just fine. Sign me, David«Broadway» M.

Love coming to this place! Everyone is so welcoming and so friendly! I love coming here for their drinks and desserts! If you’re dropping by for a drink, make sure you meet Michael and Caleb. Favorite bartenders I have ever met!

Great pre-show drinks and dinner spot. Surprisingly not crowded on an Friday night around 6ish as well. Had tickets to see a show and found this little gem on Unilocal. We had some sushi rolls and sake. Super tasty and just the right amount of food for a light dinner. Love the vibe too, kinda hip and trendy without really trying. Bartender was super attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back here when in the area as I would like to sample some other tasty treats they had on the menu.

Great atmosphere. We came right after happy hour so they seemed preoccupied getting the restaurant ready for the night crowd after happy hour and forgot about the dinner folks, like us. Food was good, the small plates are actually really large! Oysters were ok, but we had to ask for dressings for them. Sushi rolls were good, but if I was going to spend the money then next time I would probably pick Izakaya Den. Great cocktails though. Sounds like happy hour is the time to check it out, but if you go around dinner make sure to check in on Unilocal and you get 15% off!

James F and I were off to the DPCA one evening and the Corner Office was packed to the gills! So we took a quick jaunt around the neighborhood and stumbled upon Epernay. We were immediately greeted by a super lovely hostess/server; while the place was packed, she assured us that she could squeeze us in tout de suite. While we waited, she continued to check on us and let us know the progress of our table. After we were sat, we let the server know we were in a bit of a hurry and she quickly grabbed our drinks and food order and even brought our bill right away. And sure enough, our martinis and sushi arrived in no time! But most importantly, everything was fantastic. We both loved our martinis and the sushi was top notch in my book. Beautiful presentation and very flavorful! While Epernay is swish and swanky, don’t be fooled into assuming it’s a club atmosphere, it’s very far from it! Enjoy a fancy night out in a cool lounge with great service, excellent drinks, and tasty bites. I’ll certainly stop back here before another show, Epernay rocked it!

My girlfriend and I went here last Friday night. I hope the following review is helpful to all. Pro: Service was excellent. Taylor was a great and very professional server. The food was excellent as well. Con: Unfortunately the heat was not working, but the owner and our server apologized.(We even got a free cup of Miso Soup). In the end I would recommend the restaurant to anyone that wants a sushi spot that is modern but also has live music in the evening.

I ate at Epernay about one year ago, and again tried to eat there tonight. It is no longer a restaurant, but a bar. Please keep that in mind. It is a bar with very loud music and no real dining service available. Tables that are available are lounge style and it is not conducive to talking. I would call this a bar for the happy hour crowd or the 20’s set. A bar that serves sushi. Just know that when you’re headed there. We actually left and went across the street to the Oceanaire for a grown ups dinner.

Prior to a DPAC show we decided to stop into Epernay Lounge for a drink and some munchies. We’ve walked by here enough to be intrigued by the posh atmosphere. We were able to snatch the last two seats at the bar, the very busy bar. We waited a considerable amount of time to be acknowledged and then an extremely long time to actually receive our first round of drinks. We ordered a round of martinis to start; the only flavor I tasted was sweet and not much else. We decided on a few things to eat, the stuffed mushrooms, tuna roll and a half dozen of oysters. The food was very disappointing in presentation and in taste. Mushrooms were anything but stuffed, a piece of cheese melted on top of a mushroom. The fact that they arrived 30 seconds after we ordered meant they were not cooked to order and were waiting under a heat lamp. Served lukewarm at best and became cold within minutes. The tuna roll was basic, but the tuna was chopped up and had a pastelike texture and not appetizing at all. The oysters were fine, I’ve definitely had better. The accompaniments were served without a utensil so we had difficulty putting anything on our oysters. The oysters were also not cleaned properly and had a lot of grit and were not enjoyable. The saving grace was that fact that their HH includes half off Champagne by the glass and we both had an excellent glass of Champagne that was normally $ 22 per glass for $ 11 each. Now that’s a worth while HH deal. We were both very pleased with this deal. My recommendations for Epernay: 1. Have more bartenders during peak times to accommodate the rush, people will be much happier with service, will stay longer and order more. 2. If you’re going to offer food it should be excellent and be executed well. If you can’t do that, don’t offer food and save yourself the trouble. 3. First impressions are everything, especially in CO with so many other options in close proximity. Your first impression was lack luster and for that reason it’s not likely I’ll return.
