Love this place. I recently moved to Denver and take each visitor to this place and each of them love it also. Amazing food. Can get very busy, so be aware that you may have to wait on a Sunday morning. Other than that no complaints. Friendly staff.

Very friendly and attentive staff. You can tell this place has been around for a very long time because of certain items I saw that I have never seen before. For example, their cash register has been there for 30+years, still works and looks pretty cool! The food is pretty typical for a breakfast/brunch day and the prices are very affordable. I had the Notanomelette and it was quite satisfying :) I’ll be back to try more!

If you are looking for a great breakfast, this is the place. I’ve been here many times over the years, since I work in the neighborhood, and I’ve always enjoyed my experience. I’m a vegetarian, and they have plenty of options for me to choose from. One thing that really impresses me is their omelets. When I go to a lot of other places and order an omelet it is really just oblong shaped scrambled egg, but not at Dozens. Their omelets are folded over and cooked to perfection every time. If your sweet tooth is calling, I would definitely recommend the Belgian waffle with whip cream and strawberries. All I can say is, that they do a consistent quality job.

I don’t like writing reviews until I’ve been to a place several times over years. This is a place my family has visited for three generations, I first went here with my high school sweetheart and grandmother. Grandma was hard to please. Everything had to be spotless(no dirty silverware!), the staff had to be nice, and the food had to be perfect. The food was always hot and I never remember her being unhappy here. Mom is a foodie and she probably reviewed it herself. I love the coffee, it’s a special roast only served there by novo coffee. The omlette was cooked just right and was reasonably priced. It included enough food for two people with big appetites. Everything was the right temperature, right texture, and right ingredients. The environment is cozy, upscale, and pleasant. The server was personable and pleasant as usual. The cashier even remembered my uncle and had nice things to say about him with a genuine smile. He even listened patiently to my story and set appropriate boundaries to help other customers before I told it. I cannot imagine a more perfect breakfast place, it deserves 5 stars, but I reserve it for rare occassions. I’m impressed with the consistency over a decade. Great restaurant, I can’t think of a better place to eat breakfast, it even outshines the hotel Boulderado’s old brunch menu.

The servers are usually very dear and kind. The food quality is average. It could be a tad better, honestly. But for the price, its excellent and does not hurt the wallet. There seem to be several favorites on the menu. I’ve tried many things, but my least favorite was the one with shrimp. Teeeeny, tiny shrimp that you could tell might have come from a can or something– tastes fishy, not fresh by any means. Truthfully, if I wasn’t so nice, I would have asked for something different but I was pretty much starving. I’ll always recommend trying something other than the shrimp. Most other items are pretty darn good. It gets very, very busy and in the colder months, there is no adequate room for waiting patrons.

I ordered the Loveland scramble. The dish was ok. It didn’t have too much flavor and I felt that I would have rather made eggs at home over this. The service was good. The apple butter was good and tasted fresh but besides that my meal was nothing too exciting.

Best brunch around. I’m used to Nashville or Louisville brunch joints — which are tasty but super crowded with long waits and ridiculous prices. This place had NO wait and the food was incredible. It was also inexpensive. I got the«anothernotanomelet» which was delicious and huge. I finished maybe half. The scones are also awesome. Wait staff was very nice and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend this place.

Went to brunch here on a Sunday right around prime brunching time. It was uncrowded and we were seated immediately. I tried the Eggs Arnold and I was very happy I got the shrimp on the side. Tiny, frozen things with an overwhelming fishy flavor. The ham, eggs, puff pastry, and insipid hollandaise were ok, but the puff pastry got soggy fast. The main part of my meal didn’t arrive hot, though my side of potatoes was steaming. The potatoes that came with the meal were also very underseasoned, so I tried to put them in the hollandaise. It just made everything blander. I was completely bored with what I was eating. Great as a diet strategy, not so good when you’re at a restaurant. My friends got the Steamboat(bacon & cheese on scrambled eggs with an English muffin, and potatoes) and the Belgian waffle, covered in strawberries and bananas with a side of eggs. The Steamboat was nothing you can’t make at home in a few minutes. In fact, my scrambled eggs are a better consistency, as these were a little dry around the edges. However, the Belgian waffle was magnificent and covered in what looked like very fresh fruit. Every breakfast also came with a slice of pineapple, which was a nice touch. I should have read the other reviews, even some of the 5 star reviews basically still say, «Eh, it’s good enough if you’re really hungry» in the comments and that’s exactly how I feel. I think their strengths may be baked goods and carbs and not what I ordered. Overall, it’s nice to know about in a pinch if I’m hungover and need food prepped by someone else *right now.* If I have even a little hunger wiggle-room though, I’m going to head somewhere better.

No. I ordered an egg dish with«shrimp.» What I got were those little dehydrated shrimp that come in the shrimp flavored cup-o-noodles. That’s where they lost me.

I had breakfast here a couple of months ago and thought the place was pretty good. The restaurant is located in a converted old house and is very cute inside. I came in mid-week around 8:30 or so and there were plenty of open tables — i.e. no wait. After perusing the menu, I decided on the ‘Anothernotanomelet’, which is a bed of potatoes topped with vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes and topped with cheese and two eggs cooked how you like them(I like them over easy). The dish comes with an English muffin, apple butter, and(I think) a little fresh fruit. It was a nice looking dish, but it turned out to be a little bland. I asked for some salsa and that helped out quite a bit. The apple butter that came with the English muffin was a very nice touch. Service was friendly and efficient. This place is a little out of the way for me, but I’d be inclined to eat here again.

A nice family-style breakfast and brunch place. Visiting from out of town and was just looking for a quick, but tasty breakfast place, and Dozens was good enough. The waiters and waitresses were really nice and the service was great! The food was quick. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, hash browns and a side of pineapple. I have never seen any other breakfast place put a round sausage over the biscuits and pour gravy over the top – but I enjoyed it. It tasted great! The hash browns were not as crunchy as I usually like them, but it did the job. The pineapple is a pineapple – like the shape of my head and hair!

Went for breakfast this morning here because it was the only place close by that opened before 7a. Ordered the Arnold Benny. When she brought me the plate, I was a little startled by the look of the hollandaise. It looked runny and gelatinous. Eggs were cooked nicely. The crescent they put at the bottom quickly got soggy. Coffee was good. Service was fine. Next time, I’d probably wait until 7a until other places open.

I was pleasantly surprised by Dozens. I work at a competing breakfast spot in town, and I eat at a lot of breakfast joints. I ordered an omelet, which i was hesitant to do because often times they come out being WAY too much egg. This omelet was a perfect amount of egg wrapped around the other ingredients. The potatoes were great; a little bit of onion, well browned, not overly seasoned. And the apple butter, as others have mentioned, was perfect on the english muffin. I also got a side order of biscuit and gravy, which was also great. Too many spots in Denver try to be creative with gravy, and rarely succeed. Leave it be. Fat, flour, milk, salt, pepper, sausage, perfect. I’d even take package gravy over some of the ridiculous stuff places are serving. This is not a fancy, trendy, pushing-culinary-limits place, so if you’re looking for that, look elsewhere. But if you want a quality, downhome breakfast, come here. We ordered what I mentioned above plus two coffees, a small orange juice and a BLT add avocado and our bill was $ 25. Perfect. And the service was friendly and attentive.

I think Dozens is great! Delicious food, original menu, good and filling but not absurdly huge portions, great and friendly service. I love that they give you apple butter instead of those high fructose corn syrup smuckers packets. I got the blue sonnet omelette with avocado. Delicious! The potatoes that came with it were just how I like them! I also like how they ha e reserved spots for customer parking. Probably not enough to accomodate everyone during peak hours, but some is better than none, especially in the middle of downtown. Also, prices are very reasonable for what you get. Its not the best breakfast i’ve ever had in my life, but certainly if I still lived here i’d be a frequent customer!

This place is just OK. I ordered a shrimp and lobster scramble. The lobster was nonexistent. Hollandaise sauce could have used more butter. The potatoes were soggy. My cousin had an omelette and said it was nothing special. Service was nice. I called to see if I could use an expired daily deal for just the amount I purchased it for and was told yes. When I went to check out the manager was so rude about it. It’s not my fault your employee said to come on in.

This place is a self proclaimed Denver Breakfast Institution. It Is nestled in an old house off of 13th street in DT Denver, kind of off the beaten path. Went in and ordered a Denver Scramble(They call it the Loveland). With tax it cam to around $ 8.50 since they have a special going where take out orders are $ 1 off. The eggs were cooked great, the English muffin was toasted nice and the apple butter for the muffin was good. When I ordered a scramble I expected the extra ingredients to be scrambled with the eggs, they were not, instead they just were warm and laid on top of the eggs. This wasn’t the end of the world but not what I would define as a scramble. The potatoes were cooked nicely and browned but lacked flavor and I ended up adding catsup and salt/pepper to them. All in all to me this is a three star place, not bad but not the best breakfast I have ever had. For a place the coins themselves as a Breakfast Institution I think that they have some things to work on. Obviously enough people like it to keep coming back since there are some 4 and 5 star reviews on here. To me though, I think it is a run of the mil breakfast spot in a cool old house. I will go back primarily because it is close to where I work, but it will be more of a one time a month spot and not a weekly spot. When I order something else I will update my review if I feel like my experience has warranted more stars… See i’m not a heartless jerk! — — — — — — — — — — –UPDATE — — — — — — — — — — – As I explained before I am not a heartless jerk, but also know when an owner should take criticism and not be rude to honest paying customers. If you sort by rating the owner of dozens has left INAPPROPRIATE and UNPROFFESIONAL responses. Instead of asking what he can do to win their service back and help there experience he gloats that Dozens has been open for 26 years/serves 1000+ customers daily. While this is a great feat that I commend you for, since I know the restaurant business is tough, it is not the way to earn new business or make potential customers feel welcomed or wanted. Its a wonder how he has been in business for 26 years with that attitude. At any rate, I will not be spending any more of my hard earned money at this establishment which is a shame since I was going to give them another chance in the future. There are to many other places in the DT Denver area to get some good breakfast without supporting an owner than has no idea what the definition of customer service is.

Dozens falls into a «hidden gem» category for me– it’s not on any sort of main street, the building is very unassuming, but it’s one of the best breakfast spots in Denver. The corny puns on the menu are charming, the food is prepared quick, but very well, and they have some of the best coffee around(from what I’ve heard– I don’t partake). It’s inexpensive, and you get a lot for your money. The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating– almost as if you’re having breakfast at a friend’s place. But you pay your friend at the end. They also have some fresh baked goods, if you’re not overstuffed by the end of your breakfast. I love Dozens, and I’ll be back again, and again.

Freshness First Dozens has been a Denver favorite for over a quarter of a century. This«Breakfast Institution» has remained on top of the morning meal pile by consistently providing its hungry customers with fresh, wholesome food. As a self-confessed health nut, I truly appreciate what Dozens brings to the table. My go-to move for staying on track is the Terribly Healthy. First, a boneless, skinless chicken breast is poached in wine. Next, steamed broccoli and fresh tomato slices are added as sides. Finally, a fresh slice of pineapple garnish sets the tone as a coup de grâce for the hungry patron. Get a move on to Dozens! Enjoy a fresh and flavorsome meal without all of the guilt!
