Mr. Claytor walked off the job today. I paid him $ 2,100 to do some small patch work on my home as well as paint the entire exterior. The interior was finished by him, it was not done incredibly well however(scuffed up wall paint, breaking of house items around the area, and did not wait to scrape the texture and left as soon as it was sprayed). That being the case, I did not feel it was enough to be upset over. The exterior however was a different story. First thing that went wrong was that he immediately started painting the outside of the home without ANY prep work, no caulking, no sanding, not even washing it first. The home was built in 1999 and still had the original paint. He even painted over obvious dirt globs that formed under window trim and simply sprayed on top of flaking paint. When I pointed out that he did zero prep work before painting he made it sound as if he would make everything right. What does that include? Renting a power washer(which I had to go with him to use my credit card for the deposit since he does not have a credit card himself) because he is a «professional» painter that does not own a power washer. He then proceeds to wash the already painted house. That’s right, he just washes the already painted house as if that will somehow undo the fact that underneath the paint is 15 years of dirt and grime. That evening, I used the power washer to go over that same paint and sure enough, without even being that close, it was already coming up. The final day, he decided it was all prepped and ready to be repainted, with flaking paint everywhere and dirt you can see through the first coat. The problem then began when I asked if he was going to sand, at which point he started cursing at me and saying that I can not be pleased. If you ask any professional painter, sanding imperfections and flaked paint is an absolute must. I also wanted him to caulk between the trim and the house, and between the panels, which was agreed to prior to the job. He would not listen to any of this and insisted it was ready to be painted. I objected adamantly to painting it in it’s current state, so he packed up and left. As he was leaving, I was asking him about the $ 1,500(the agreed price for the exterior) at which point he asked if I had a receipt, or a contract from him. Of course I did not have these things, since he never gave me either. I am in the process of developing a website with pictures describing in detail the entire experience in hopes of helping people avoid being his next victim. I am also filing a civil suit, but I fear it will be in vain since it is obvious that he owns very few items of value. I strongly urge you to find someone else. He can convince you that he has all this experience(30 – 40 years depending on when you ask him). If that is the case, he either did not know the first thing about painting the exterior of a house, or he knew and thought we did not know enough to be able to tell the difference. I am sure he will dispute all of this, so if there is any doubt or question, please email me( ) and I will be happy to provide an enormous number of pictures of the problems in his work and the condition he left it in. To anyone else scammed by Mr. Claytor, speak out! Remaining silent allows him to take advantage of others.

So… I’ve needed drywall repair for a while in my home. I had ripped off wallpaper and needed some texture, had some holes in my ceiling from light fixtures, holes in my walls from leaks and so on. Being really nervous about working with contractors, I spent a week getting estimates from a bunch fo different guys. Tim was the one with the best price and he just made it sound so easy.(that’s when you know that they know what they are doing) So all my drywall is repaired now, and I am very happy with the results. Someone had actually quoted me 3 x the price and said they would do it in a week, when Tim said it would take a full day. The only reason I didn’t give him 5 stars is because I’ve never had any drywall repair before. He was on time, he did what he said he was going to do, I was able to trust him in my home, alone. He works fast and gets the job done right. Place is clean. Couldn’t be happier and would recommend him to anyone that needs drywall/random things done in their home. P. s. He was able to fix a baseboard that had leak damage and part of a door frame that nobody else seemed to know what to do with other than rip the whole thing off. I liked him so much that I had him do some painting. At the moment, he’s not done yet, but I’ll be sure to review his painting in my next review. Need some work around the house, Call Tim! Oh, and he’ll be happy to give you his references, just ask. I talked to them and they all love working with him. And. he always answers his phone/messages. What can I say?! These things are important!
