Went here for lunch, my husband and I were the only customers. We had great, fast service and delicious food! I had the salad/soup combo. The potato soup is good, a little heavy on the dill though. My husband had a burger, and loved it. They have a decent beer selection. The sauce they serve with the chips is magical.

We were looking for a place away from Brown St. This is awesome. Located in the The Oregon district. Artsy, funky. Lots of shops and bars. Great menu. Craft Beer as well as the usual favs. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Minister Melt and Jamaican jerk burger we very good as well.

What a hidden treasure! Cool dive bar in front and gorgeous kind of hipster lunch café in the back. The patio is adorable. The menu was put together so well. The food is delicious and so inexpensive. The staff was friendly and made it feel homey. I didn’t see what the night seen was like, but I definitely approve of it as a lunch spot.

Last night I was there with friends. We decided to leave about midnight. Obviously it was crowed and difficult to leave make my way out of the establishment. I accidentally bumped into a girl that was taking money for the cover charge. This girl pushed and violently slapped me in the face. My boyfriend restrained her from throwing a punch. A group of males man handled me out the door. They proceeded to call the cops and we stayed around to explain what happened. we chose not to press charges. Today I am covered in bruises. This establishment is full of low brow hipster want to be’s. If you look like to you have a full time day job you will not be treated kindly at all. The place is a dump anyways. Take your money elsewhere.

I got the Po Boy, and Blue cheese burger Pros: very tasty food, Our Server was very good cons: 1. portion sizes are really small for the price, 2. we didnt know it was seat yourself as there was no sign and was our first time, and the person we asked look at us like we were stupid. 3.booths were too small for people to actually sit in. I kept bumping elbows with my girlfriend trying to eat. 4. apparently there was some sort of beer tasting event that started halfway through our meal, which would have been cool if someone would have told us about it… instead we watched other people get beer tasters(I’m assuming you had to pay for it) 5. They were out of sweet potato fries, not a big deal. 6. super loud…(I get it its a bar(I didnt know that before) its going to be loud, but it truly made our meal less enjoyable.) We latter found out they had a nice outside sitting that would have been better… wish that was expressed instead of «are you stupid? sit wherever» look we got when we arrived. place was alright but I probably wouldnt be coming again

We were there yesterday because Lucky’s was closed. We had been just for appetizers a couple of times, which led me to believe the food was better than it had been when I used to go after work with friends. I was wrong. My partner got the salad of the day, which looked great in the Facebook picture, but in real life looked like I made it. I’m not much on presentation either. There was no dressing much at all, so the chance that it was their honey bacon which is supposedly delish was de-missing. I got the hamburger of the day. That sounded good. In my head, it was really a Big Mac with less bread and one less hamburger patty. With onion straws and bacon! I was about to fall in love. I just knew it! Our lunches arrive. As I watched our dishes come toward our table, the burger was huge. When it got there, I remembered those optical illusions you see on Facebook every now and then. Like the pic of their salad. It was just tall. Piled with cold onion straws and cold burned bacon. I like crunchy bacon, but not that crunchy. It was cold, so it didn’t shatter when I bit into it. The 1000 island dressing was really their herbie dip(which they have changed for the worse but that’s another review) and they made have stirred pickle relish in. It came with old, not so crunchy slaw. It even looked old… you know when the red cabbage is no longer red, but everything else is a sickly pink? A little limp, not as crunchy and just kind of dead in the bowl. Didn’t even eat that after the tiny little bite I took for kicks. Food poisoning is real, after all. We would have told the waitress sooner, but she never came by except to ask if we wanted the check. After the offer of a 20 percent discount(which I jumped on, though in retrospect I should have held out for more). In the end, we felt ripped off and bummed out. The lesson we learned here is: If Lucky’s is closed, going anywhere else trumps the convenience of going two doors down.

My first visit was a few weeks ago for weekday dinner. We got there just in time to get a seat at the bar and the place filled up shortly after that. It took a while for the bartender to get to us to the point that we had both our beer and food selections ready. he was nice and we could tell he had been getting other orders done the whole time we waited so I think they just needed someone else to help him. The food was really good for both of us and as a vegetarian, I had several options. They also try to keep it local so the food was noticeably higher in quality. We went again this past weekend for their brunch and Bloody Mary bar. We sat on their patio which was really cute. Service was once again really slow, though. We had to flag someone down just to make sure we got our orders in before brunch ended at 2:00. She apologized for the wait and even though she should have at least acknowledged us(we were beginning to doubt if we were supposed to seat ourselves) she was really nice. We have both our food and drink orders ready for her, all of us trying the Bloody Mary or mimosa bar and all of us getting the huevos rancheros. i loved the selections for my drink, I like putting a lot of spices in and there was variety. Unfortunately, she came back to tell us they didn’t have the huevos rancheros, which was an instant sell to all 4 of us so we all ironically ordered the burrito instead. Fortunately, our burritos were delicious because it took a while to come out. Maybe our perception of the time was skewed since we were all starving but it just seemed like everything took longer than normal. It took one lady who appeared to be the busser literally half an hour to clear three tables that were vacant. So my overall impression: good food, cute little divey bar that’s not divey at the same time, and nice staff. You just have to make sure you have nowhere to be if you plan a visit.

Great bar! Good food(get the kale salad), good beer, friendly bar staff and locals. Live music almost nightly. I was looking to try some local beer, and while they had local stuff they didn’t have exactly what I wanted… the bartender actually recommended another bar/brewery down the block. Awesome service. Great place to stop by if you’re front out of town.

I had only ever been here after midnight on busy Saturday nights so I honestly had no clue they had delicious food! We met some friends earlier in the evening on a weekday and I was surprised at how wonderfully relaxed it was. The food was delicious, the service was great and it wasn’t overly crowded. I had a great dinner and a great time. We will definitely be back!

Brought a friend here on Monday for lunch and a beer and was not the least bit disappointed. I had the winter kale salad and he got a burger both of which were outstanding. At one point I saw the chef come out to answer some questions for a group of ladies who had questions about the menu. The atmosphere is fun and I have nothing but fond memories of goods times there… Especially upstairs if you know what I mean! Service was fast and friendly. A great place to stop for lunch if you’re out in Dayton. Thanks for the great times!

Dinner was amazing! The new menu has great flavors and keeps it simple. The Prosciutto Asparagus is perfect to start the meal. Then try the Pear and Prosciutto side salad with Pear Vinaigrette. The Shrimp Po’ Boy is a perfect combination of heat and freshness. Yum! An added bonus is Trolley Hour from 4 pm to 7 pm with $ 5 Select Apps. Come try this new menu and have a Moscow Mule!

Until recently, this was one of my favorite restaurants/bars in Dayton. They have great food and beer, and I really like the ambiance of the back patio. However, they recently decided to only serve brunch until 2pm, and you can’t get most(but not all) things on the lunch menu until after 2. This is extremely disappointing as I usually go here for lunch, and they have great food. The brunch menu is very small and I don’t want to eat breakfast food at 1pm. They also brought out the main menu, and several members of my party decided on burgers — only to find out that they couldn’t order them after working up an appetite. It’s very confusing. The service here also tends to be a little slow, even when there is hardly anyone there. On my most recent visit, it took over half an hour before the waitress even took our orders. That’s not cool. If they were a little more clear about what you can and cannot order around lunch time — or if they just brought the normal menu back — this would easily be a 4 or 5 star review.

Nice place but basically a beer joint. They have lots of selection when it comes to beer, zero selection when it comes to wine. Get«THE» cab and you will get a tiny screw top bottle of Barefoot wine. They have a great little patio.

Went down there for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed. It was actually my first Oregon district experience in general. The atmosphere was of a sort that is uncommon these days especially out in the suburbs where I live. I recommend it to all and I’ll definitively be back

This place is awesome! The aesthetic is great with the brick walls, old style bar and dim lighting. The food is all locally grown or raised and is CHEAP! One of the best burgers(grass fed cows) I’ve ever had! The potato soup is to die for and try the Wyders Pear Cider if they have it!!! Staff are very friendly and attentive :) Wish I lived around here, because I’d come here all the time!

Trolley Stop feels like a familiar and casual spot for meet ups; the entire place looks so aged that I often wonder why I go back. It’s bustling with local bands that no one has ever heard of before, but they are so full of talent and promise that most people can’t stay away for one moment. The upstairs area contains a pool table where we sometimes play a really bad game of pool but, hey, we’re just having some fun! Their menu consists of burgers and salads along with vegetarian options. The iceberg and mixed greens salad with their house«herbie» dressing tastes just delicious. And their drinks are quite well-prepared.(They serve an amazing five dollar cosmo, which I love because it’s such a good price!) I enjoy Trolley Stop. They even have a patio area for nights that feel warm and summery. They are very low key. That’s why I fell in love!

This is my favorite bar in the world. I used to live 2 blocks away and have been here for Halloween, St Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, lunch, Thanksgiving Eve, board games, open mic night, New Year’s Eve, Tuesday evening, and many, many Saturday nights… most of which I remember. Drinks are cheap and stiff. They used to have $ 3 Long Islands that were NOT watered down and I probably forgot parts of a few nights in my 20s because of this. Many of the bartenders have been there for a decade or more, they’re friendly and quick. I love the décor and that the oldness of the building shows. There are multiple parts to the bar… a courtyard with balcony, the second story with booths and a pool table, the stage and dance floor, and the brick area with jukebox and darts. It’s a pretty good spot to see live music because there are 2 levels of seating so you’ll get a better view. Most of the bands that come through are pretty good, and a few of them are even national acts(still bummed I missed Hoots & Hellmouth). The food is good, especially good for bar food. I really like the black bean soup. They don’t serve late though, so be aware of that. Sometimes the servers can be aloof. Last time I brought my mom here we had to ask the bartender to send someone over. Food service is not fast but not wretchedly slow either. Bar service is pretty speedy, even on nights when it’s standing room only and you can barely move. Rest in peace, Tomcat. All the girls miss dancing with you, me included.

Imagine you’re me. You’ve just driven 10,000 miles, moved out of Brooklyn(you’ve ONLY lived in Boston [Jamaica Plain] and New York [Clinton Hill]) after a yearlong stint in Amherst, MA way back when). You are actually trying to SAVEMONEY(something that you can’t do while living in New York without making serious sacrifices regarding your way of life(i.e., going out for drinks with friends costs $ 30…and you’ve only had two, relatively weak margaritas or Manhattans or Gin and Tonics [or as I call them: Tonics), so you do what most people you know, family and friend alike, friend nearly unthinkable: YOUMOVETODAYTON, OHIO. On your first day, you are extremely hungry. Apartment hunting makes you lose your appetite completely and become incredibly hungry at the same time. My partner and I decided to take a break from the madness of being show some nice places for a silly amount of money(I’m looking at you, Cannery Lofts) or kind of disgusting old houses that smelled like soup(there was no soup), had a fully carpeted bathroom, and black mold on the inside of the light fixtures). I will not mention the kitchen. Just… don’t look behind the fridge if you already know a place is nasty, you know? At least this point, there are two things everyone needs: a beer and a sandwich. Seeing as I didn’t have very good luck on the majority of the cross-country trip procuring vegan-friendly food, I had little hope for finding anything I could eat at the Trolley. Surprise East Coast snob: you are totally wrong. The staff are awesome, the music is great, and the other customers were really nice.(I’ve since been back in the evenings, and everything holds the same. That’s the indicator of a really rad place, in my humble opinion.) They have a good veggie burger and chips that will run you less than $ 5. Fabulous. So is the patio. What makes this my FAVORITE bar(beside the aforementioned?). The fact that the bartender suggested we try another beer first because it was on sale and only $ 2.50, and then get the ones we first ordered if {a.k.a. when) we wanted another drink. Say what?! And the $ 2.50 beer was a Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA?! I salute you, Trolley Stop. Thanks for existing.
