I’m surprised by some of the bad reviews here. I’ve been going to the Paragon for years and have never had a bad experience. The steaks are so tender and flavorful! MUCH better than the Pine Club or the Oakwood Club in my opinion. Service is attentive but not overbearing. This is hands down my favorite steak house in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. The prices are competitive with other good steak houses and sides come with the entrée’. You get what you pay for and The Paragon Supper Club is always a wonderful experience!

We love the Paragon. It’s our favorite place for prime red meat. It’s an old-time steakhouse, and we love it for that. If you need trendy, you’ll be disappointed. If you need great food, tasty beverages, a pleasant atmosphere, and service that is attentive without being annoying, you’ll be pleased here. A decent wine list, a couple of Warped Wing beers on tap are features. My personal recommendations are the filet(they’ll cut to order if 8 ounces isn’t enough for you), or the prime rib(order raw horseradish!), the hash browns, and the house dressing. Finally, if you prefer rare meat, they seem to get it just right here. I realize that’s an expectation, not a feature, but it’s sad how many places don’t know how to cook a steak to order.

Wife & I had a dinner date and were very pleased with PSC. We were seated promptly, service was outstanding(Chris was our server) and the food was consistent with the price point. The stuffed portobello appetizer was outstanding, mixed green salads with house dressing were fantastic and the bread was warm and fresh. Entrees were the twin filets and beef tips. Sides were hash brown potatoes. Pumpkin cheese cake for dinner is a must have as well. I chose 4⁄5 stars only because I’ve had higher quality beef at other steakhouses but I certainly was not disappointed with the quality. My wife was pretty disappointed in the egg noodles that came with her entrée so I would not recommend that entrée. Will definitely return in the future.

I don’t where the other reviewers had dinner but it wasn’t The Paragon. My prime rib was cold and tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. My wife’s walleye tasted and looked like it was straight from GFS. To top it off the waiter brought us the wrong bill. At least our wine was good.

I am in town for the weekend and came here for dinner last night with the family. This was my first time here. Our server, Chris, was very attentive and accommodating. I had the filet and it was excellent! The house dressing on the salad was very good. The filet was cooked perfectly, as I had ordered it medium rare. Everyone loved their food last night. I will definitely be back next time I am in town! Coming from Florida, it’s so great to receive good service and excellent food. Make sure you ask for Chris, he’s a great server!

Update! We went back for dinner! The steak and cajun butter are to DIE for. The wilted spinach salad as well. The asian shrimp appetizer was perfectly cooked and seasoned! All the other sides, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, And fried onions were okay, but not phenomenal. I would definitely go back! I know now to skip the sides and get dessert! The décor is beautiful! It really transports you back to the 1970’s. I had a chocolate martini, which was fabulous! Didnt try the food but im anxious to! Will update soon. Bar service was impeccable.

Came to this restaurant to have the«best steak in Dayton» with an out of town guest after a recommendation from a local. We were disappointed. The atmosphere was nice but the food was not as good as was described to me. Had the steak tips with a salad and mashed potatoes. Waitress was attentive. Piano was played with perfection. Pricey menu. Not my favorite.

Paragon porterhouse has got to be the best tasting steak ever. Always a great meal and I don’t think the other local steakhouses compare.

The food is excellent and a stand out above other steak houses in the area. Comparable to oakwood club or pine club but better in my opinion. The kitchen staff is very talented and for the most have been there for many years same as the front of the house. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I had the 18 ounce Ribeye cooked medium rare Pittsburg style and it was amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. We started our meal with the stuffed mushrooms. One Large mushroom quartered and smothered in tomatoes, spinach and cheese. Very good! My only disappointment with the meal was the salad with the house dressing, it was nothing to brag about. However the 7 layer salad is scrumptious(I got it last time).

We love the Paragon! The filet is to die for and with all sides included it is affordable. The piano bar is an added plus! For a great experience, you should try it.

I can only give this place 2 stars out of 5. If I could do 2.5 I would. Not because of the food, which was excellent!!! It was because of the ridiculous pricing. Which we could have dealt with, until I got the bill and had a $ 3.00 up charge for sour cream! We ordered a $ 33.00 bottle of wine, two meals — one that was $ 35& one that was $ 30, a appetizer that was $ 12 and a $ 2 up charge for my ceaser salad(which was a bit fishy). After that they had the nerve to charge us $ 1.50 for each sour cream for our baked potatos. That was ridiculous! If you are going to charge double for every item on the menu(example: fish sandwich $ 25) don’t charge for condiments it’s just desperate.

We have lived in Dayton for many years, but never tried the Paragon. Now I wished I had much sooner. While the décor might be somewhat dated and the average age tends to the post-retirement end, the food is excellent. I had the special Filets and Scallops. Both were excellet and I would get them again. I also had a seasonal Watermelon Spinach salad which was very good. I tried the French Onion soup, which in my opinion, was just ok. The other cool thing about the Paragon is they have Warped Wing on tap. Good support for a local brewery. All in all, this will be towards the top of my list for fine dining in Dayton.

I want to start off by saying filet mignon is my favorite food. My boyfriend took me here on my birthday because he claims he has never had a better filet anywhere else. The filet was so flavorful and cooked perfectly, I literally can’t think of anything that Paragon could have done better. Also, the filet entrée comes with two sides and a salad– no extra cost! I was very surprised by that. I recommend the house salad, the dressing is amazing. Paragon is very dark and a little more on the quieter side. I would not recommend you to bring little kids to this place. I hope I will be back soon and I’ve also heard that this is a GREAT place to come to on Christmas Eve!

Quite disappointed! Had 8:00 reservation for an intimate celebration but wanted to avoid holiday chaos. Got one mixed drink, so watered down I couldn’t finish it. Ordered the filets with lobster tail special, wasn’t impressed at all. One filet had a gristle running through it which ruined the 3 oz. Piece of meat. My husband ordered the prime rib which was a better choice. Worst part: servers really made us feel rushed and started turning off lights before we finished our meal or was able to order dessert. Would never go back when The Chop House and Carvers are so close and servers are more accommodating.

Great place I feel like I can not do it justice because it was dead probably cause of the Bengals Monday night opener. Which is why its 4 instead of 5 felt like I was in there at open or lunch not at dinner. We were greeted nicely and seat right away. We were greeted nicely and seat right away. Items and specials were explained and we were given time to review the menu and even ask questions. The steak Oscar was awesome. Just the right amount of each piece of the meal. The bacon was crispy the béarnaise just right the crab flavorful and the steak came at the correct temp. Hubby was even able to add on the items he want on top of his steak. Our waitress was informative regarding the meals and side which have two sides plus a salad w the meal on top of the breads. Nothing special about the salad and the sides were great home cooking. Wine list was nice, it was a little dark but nice old steakhouse feel. A little pricey but not really based on what you get. The steak was raised in Ohio. It felt a little back in time… in a good way a true supper club or old style steak house. Hard to compare to Pine Club because I can not get past that we did not wait and always wait at Pine Club. Otherwise similar to The Pine Club tables space apart better. Sat in a nice roomy two to a small booth(assume they do not fit 4 in or it would be tight saw several people who chose to put 3 in it though). It was out anniversary so they brought us out a small ice cream and fudge seven after we aid not to dessert cause we were full. It was nice of her to treat us to that on our anniversary. Then she wrapped all of our leftovers nicely not all crapped and stuffed in a box. Little things matter. Several personnel gave us anniversary wishes as we left. Nice amount of attention by all staff. We were greeted nicely and seat right away. Items were explained and we were given time to review the menu and even ask questions. Dress code probably Dockers and collar/polo for men and dress nice for women not sure if they let jeans in.

Not what I was hoping for. Kind of a cool place, definitely a high-end steak house feel to it. The servers are great, very helpful and friendly. Descent selection of wines for a reasonable price too. We had the portabello appetizer, which was very good. The steaks, unfortunately, were mediocre. One of the people with me had prime rib and said it was extremely tough. I ordered my strip steak medium rare and it came out medium well. It had a nice crust on the outside, so wasn’t terrible, but for $ 35, it was not at all what i’d expect. A very expensive meal overall, didn’t really line up with what we got.
