Garlex Pizza – Blackhawk

Pizza is ok. Service is subpar. Not a bad place to visit if you have nothing else to do. I’d give it somewhere between a 2 and a 3 star overall but the poor service tilts the result to 2 star.

Ordered online through Unilocal,got a discount. Pizza came delivered fast, and perfect. Tasty pizza!

A good local pizza joint with a bar at the back. The pizza is not stellar but definitely above the average in the area. There is a limited but decent selection of craft beer to please any beer lover. I recommend a visit!

Came with friends for lunch. Their lunch specials are great. We enjoyed the pizzas and meatball sandwich.
I would come back again.

I’ve always loved the pizza here but today I also had the pleasant experience of excellent customer service! I’ve been here numerous times over the past 6 – 7 years but not enough that I’d be recognized as a «regular». Today I ordered one of their Mon./Tues. specials, a large combo via internet. Somehow I messed up my order and noticed as I was about to snatch a hot piece in the car that it was a large cheese pizza. I took it bake in assuming they had given me the wrong one. I was shown a copy of my order and realized that I had made the mistake. I asked if it was possible to just throw some other items on it and put it through the oven for a couple of minutes. The person working there stated «No, that doesn’t work.» and proceeded to ask the cook to make up a whole new combo for me. I’ve seen this gentleman there a couple of times before and believe he may have an owner’s interest in the place or, perhaps may be the owner himself. Anyway, having many years experience in the F&B division of the hospitality industry myself I give full accolades to this persons response to a customers mistake and find myself more willing to be loyal to this place as well as recommending the food as well as personnel to others. Well done!

GARLEX IS AWESOME! My boyfriend and I are regulars here and we absolutelt love the staff and food. Jose and Joel are usually who serve us and they’re super nice. I would recommend this place to everyone but then there wouldn’t be any bar seating.

Garlex is awesome! It’s how a pizza place should be: fun, delicious, affordable, friendly. Plus they have a full menu, from fantastic pastas, burgers, ribs, sandwiches… and a great salad bar. Sports theme, which adds to the fun and positive energy. The owner is an awesome guy, I’ve known him for years, he’s real. I really respect private businesses that work towards great customer service and a great product, trusting that the results will come, as opposed to chasing the money at every turn. Check out Garlex. Or just call and have them come to you, they start delivering as soon as they open!

Good pizza, decent salad bar, great for kids, they put out a group on from time to time, always a good deal

Yesterday, Saturday (Oct 31), 3 pizzas were ordered for delivery.
Dough was cardboard like: tasteless, no seasoning, no olive oil, no nothing and very hard.
What pieces of salami were on it were also very tasteless and partially burned.
What cheese was on them, one needed a microscope to identify since it also had no taste.
Maybe a wrong pizza makers on duty, but totally experience on scale of ten we would give it a big
minus 55

Filthy dump. Uninterested teenage workers. During a slow time: crumbs on table, salad on floor. Nobody cleaning.
Really good pizza, but I won’t support a business with no pride.

Ordered via Unilocal on a Friday night. Took about 50 mins, which isn’t bad. Good price and really good pizza.

My roommate always gets delivery from here. Really good pizza and appetizers!

So we ordered for pick up at 8:00, one of us went there at 8:10, were told it’ll be right out, 20 minutes later we finally got the pizza. There won’t be a next time. Cannot stand this kind of service.

I just had my 2^nd pizza from Garlex and I’m now a big fan. My most recent order was for a large pizza with two toppings to be delivered. First, they delivered on time, as they quoted me 50 minutes and they actually delivered a bit earlier. Best of all, the pizza was still very hot and really tasted good. The pizza sauce is tangy, and they don’t hold back on the cheese. The toppings go all the way up to the crust, so you get a lot more toppings than most other pizza places. The only reason I’m not giving Garlex a 5 rating is they say they have a «thin crust» but it’s actually a regular crust. That tells me the «regular crust» is probably too thick… but I’m not sure. Regardless, Garlex is the best pizza I’ve had in the Blackhawk area so far, and I’m not sure if I’ll try others at this point.

I tried ordering from a competitor and after an awful customer service experience I came back to my default, Garlex.
I worked for Gary years ago and the man just hasn’t changed. He cares about his employees equally as he does his customers. You get the same Gary any day you see him and that’s what I like.consistence.
The pizza is always good. Garlex stands alone as their pizza including sauce and crust is just noticeably different from the rest of the pack. Their spicy wings are the best and you can tell that they are not your run of the mill wings. Most places they are wet and taste the exact same.
Their pepperoni is the best and the delivery is quick.
To end I will leave you with this. If it was good enough to employ Jeff Raider. It is good enough for anyone. RIP Jeff.

We loooooove the pizza here at Garlex! Anytime we have a pizza craving– we order from Garlex in Blackhawk.
We made the mistake of ordering pizza from the garlex in pleasanton one night, because we thought they were the same. After getting it home, and opening the box, the pizza looked very different from the Garlex in danville… It tasted different too. We looked on the website and found that the 2 locations have different owners and are not affiliated with each other.
Lesson learned, we have to drive a little further away– but the pizza is SO worth it!
We love the pepperoni pizza (of course with a side of ranch for dipping)

Friendly Staff, Good Food, and Great Happy Hour at this place.
My wife and I come here semi-​regularly and are frequent attendees of the bar area during the sports games. For the following, they have reasonably priced beer on happy hour specials, saving you money and enjoying the people around you.

My biggest word of advice to the owner would be to update the sports memorabilia. Cal Ripken Jr., Joe Montana and Magic Johnson jerseys are all a little bit outdated. Don’t get me wrong, I loved all those players and would show their gear in my home, but for an every night bar, serving wine and beer, you almost have to update it a little bit more.

The only reason this place stays in business is because of it’s ability to host local sports teams and events. The pizza is mediocre. The owner is a complete jerk and makes you feel incompetent for asking any questions or veering off the menu.
Outdated. Old sports memorabilia, if you even want to call it that. The atmosphere looks and feels like it’s stuck in the early 90’s so is the kids area. But I digress.
The only reason I’m even giving this place 2 stars is because of its size. It’s nice sized and as stated earlier can accommodate a good sized group, as long as the adults eat somewhere else, your kids won’t mind the food. If you want real pizza, amazing wings and a friendly, gracious and attentive staff, go across the street to Ascona.

We had a very fun event there with a very large group of people. Worked out great! It was a big plus that the adults could order pitchers of beer to enjoy while the kids had fun on the games.
Pizza was surprisingly decent too. The veggie pizza came covered with veggies and not a lot of cheese. The crust was nice and crispy.
Good choice for a casual party that involves both kids and adults.
