The young lady today helping me was awesome, and patient while I decided over many of their awesome options. The young man working was also awesome! The meatball wedge was FANTASTIC and super filling! Would totally recommend!

The salads are good, but the meatballs are way below what a good meatball should be. Suggest they don’t microwave them and use less breading. Otherwise I like their format and service.

So overpriced for what you get. With that being said this was a try once kind of deal.

I’ve been to Mima’s twice. I got the pasta bolognese the first time. I thought it was good but the meat was a little overcooked. A week later, my boyfriend wanted to try it out so I figured I’d give the place another try. We had the garlic bread and the mini meatball sampler with our choice of three sauces(marinara, sweet chili and teriyaki). The sauces were great, especially the marinara and teriyaki. The meatballs were slightly overcooked. The staff was okay at best. I had to ask for an extra plate twice. The«servers/cashier» didn’t seem very friendly or care. I don’t think I saw a smile the whole time that I was there. One kept complaining about how she hates cleaning tables. It wasn’t cute.

Yum! My husband and I come all the way from Poughkeepsie NY! Found his place on a whim last year while house hunting. Every time we are shopping in the Danbury area or passing through, we stop. Everything is good here, it’s hard to choose. Wish we lived closer because they have great take out specials! Great for when you don’t feel like cooking on a busy night. I have celiac and they have… Gluten free meatballs, gluten free bread, gluten free garlic bread! Zucchini pasta. All delish. I don’t eat anyone else’s meatballs except my moms and my own, and I will eat theirs. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Major fans! I even like their marinara and I am an tough critic! Not too expensive either! Wish we had one by us!

Stopped in for lunch and picked up a «got balls» t-shirt and a wedge(meatball sub). I got the Angry Meatball Wedge and it was delicious! Everything in the menu sounded very good. I wanted to try the thanksgiving wedge. Next time I’m in Dansbury. Others in our group tried the Mac and cheese, sliders, gluten free meatball sandwich and linguine meatball pasta. Everyone was pleased with their food and definitely wanted to return if our business brings us back.

Stopped in for lunch. I had the Mima’s Pasta Dinner for $ 9.95 which consist of one meat, one pasta and one sauce. I ordered the vegetarian meatballs which was very good but very small. On the list of choices its written as vegetarian meatballs so I thought there would be at least two vegetarian meatballs. I also had the zucchini linguini which was a($) dollar extra!, also very good. The sauce I ordered was garlic and oil. My dish was with much too much oil. A clean, cozy little place and friendly staff. Definitely not worth the money due to the small portion they serve.

Great décor. Great food. Quality fresh ingredients well prepared. A standout in an area with lots of Italian eateries. I ordered the meatloaf meatballs with brown sauce and egg noodles. The dish came with 3 large handmade meatballs, gravy(brown sauce) with homemade egg noodles. Portion size was very generous. Boyfriend ordered Mac and cheese with meatballs. Again the dish was served with homemade meatballs and fresh pasta. Boyfriend said it was good but very cheesy. The place is has about 6 – 8 tables in it. The chairs could be a little more comfortable as they are plastic and metal. This maybe is going with their theme great food served quickly. Cons: Food was served almost too hot that it took it awhile to cool down. In some ways I feel the temp of the food detracted from what could have been a five star meal in that the food lost some of its subtleties. We went on a Sunday and their full menu of advertised beverages was not available. Parking area is small and shared by several businesses in the same general vicinity. They gave us real metal utensils but plastic serving dishes. I would, however go back again, perhaps just for takeout.

Comfort food at its finest. I’m a huge believer of an extra saucey pasta dish so when I opened up my first Mima’s spaghetti order, I was visually in heaven. But what about the taste? Pretty DANG good! The spaghetti was cooked al dente and the sauce was tangy, tomatoey, fresh, and just plain delicious. Meatballs could have been cooked a tad less but overall the flavor was there. [As of 12/4/15] Check in and get a free powdered sugar pizza fritte!

This meatball place is so good! BOYB. yes! Close to I-84 so easy to get to. It’s a café. You order at the counter, seat yourself, and they bring the food to you. Many choices of meatballs, pasta, and sandwiches. All fresh, very tasty, and reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and prompt. I went here for lunch and it was very quiet so I hope this place is doing well, it would be a shame to lose such a find in Danbury!

I don’t see a listing for the Danbury Fair Mall food court location yet but I guess they just opened this week. Nice change of pace for food court food. My wife and I split a traditional meatball wedge, meatball parm style. Very good flavorful sauce and nicely done meatballs, not to crumbly and not too tough, just right. I have also had catering from Mima’s at a friends wedding. Interestingly enough my friends are vegetarians, so their choice of caterer surprised me! Even more surprising was how good all the vegetarian entrees were! Point being that this place has a lot more options than you might expect based on the name.

Excellent food! Fast service. So excited that they are going to be in the Danbury Mall. The lady in the store during lunch time took the time to ask me what I liked and didn’t like in order to point out a great thing on the menu that I might enjoy… and I certainly did! Excellent meatballs, great tasting and smelling garlic and oil sauce! Perfect combination! Will definitely be back!

Conceptually cool. Clean minimal interior. Flavor of practically everything was good. Not great. I HATE plastic service ware. Real food & indoor dining where I’m a patron, deserves real flat ware & plates. I’m not a fan of the plastic basket. Service is awkward. Kinda a waitress, kinda not. We needed extra napkins, water, etc for our party of 8 but we kept having to get up and acquire it all ourselves. Hey! I thought I was eating out? Anyway, the house arugula salad is good, as was the zucchini«pasta», fried mozzarella balls were ok, turkey meatballs are just ok, the hot sauce isn’t that hot at all which was a disappointment, my chicken cutlet was fried perfectly & a nice portion. The pizza frite w powdered sugar and«cannoli» cream was awful. I guess if your a hungry teenager after a game then this would certainly do.

These meatballs are delicious, I had the meatloaf meatballs and hey we’re perfect!!! I had the zucchini«noodles» with marinara sauce, I wish they wouldn’t have used so much sauce, as it looked more like a soup then«pasta» dish. I would order it again but with half the sauce. We also got the mozzarella balls, and fried peppers which were both really good. The pizza dough with marinara would have been better with the sauce on the side. By the time you get it if you don’t eat it really quickly then the dough im gets really nasty and soggy. Over all great place and would highly suggest trying it out!

I love going to Mima’s — they have some of the best sauces I’ve ever tried and I’m always excited to try something different. I feel like the only people who wouldn’t enjoy Mima’s are people who don’t like meatballs — but why would you bother coming if you didn’t?! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can sometimes feel a bit claustrophobic inside. The space is tight and you almost want to rush through your meal when it’s busy to be able to give other people more space. Not the restaurant’s fault, but it is something that takes away from the experience. If you go there when it’s relatively quiet, though, you won’t even notice. Try the buffalo sauce, it’s my absolute favorite! The fried mozzarella balls are also delicious. I can barely eat two before getting full and forcing myself to save room for my meal. And I always get a sugar frite with my meal… tastes as good as the fried dough my grandma used to make!

Atmosphere is clean, and décor minimal, not a place to sit in comfort for a long period of time. No alcohol served, but you may bring your own. Service was fast and friendly, food was decent. I tried a bite of the meatball wedge, found it to be average. I had the zucchini pasta with sausage, both the zucchini and the sausage was very good. The dessert fritte was my favorite thing.

Loved this place! This is what a locally owned restaurant is all about! Excellent food with attention to detail and nice service. We hit it up about 30 minutes before closing and the guy at the counter was super nice and helpful explaining the subject matter… cuz who’s seen a meatball restaurant before?(it’s more than that BTW). I got the Angry Meatball Wedge and it was gianormo. «Angry» because it had arrabiata sauce(spicy) instead of regular marinara. I was expecting chile flakes as that’s how I’ve usually eaten arrabiata but this used jalapenos. So the spicyness only occurred when you’d find a jap instead of the full-time spicy you get with flakes. My wife got gluten free meatballs with zucchini linguini. It was excellent with a perfect slight crunch to the zucchini. If you’re never tried«pasta-ized» zucchini you should. We were from out of town but the guy at the counter seemed to know most of the people coming in so that’s always nice. Wish I were a local to I could eat here more often!

Okay here’s my take on Mima’s. The counter guy was really friendly and very helpful. The menu is deceiving, there’s a lot of choices and you can customize anything. The dining area is sleek and modern very appealing for the cool style and totally fitting the building. It is definitely a place that requires multiple visit. I had a mini meatball sampler with sweet chili sauce and the angry garlic bread. The spicy tomato sauce was fantastic! The meatballs were fantastic! I think this place is fantastic. I personally would hit this place several times a month however as a lunch joint since I like a little more up scale dining experience. This means hostess seating table service etc. not selling the place short it fits a niche and with the excellent food should be on everybody’s must try list.
