You know, I’m always in this area since my gym is right across the street and I see the delivery cars all over town, but I’ve never actually had the food at Vera’s. It’s never been a top priority either since when I used to live at home we had other choices close-​by. But now since I moved out to the other side of town, my pizza cravings needed to be redirected to another close-​by establishment. We, as an apartment, figured it was worth giving Vera’s a shot.
Tuesday night, just got home from the gym, and we didn’t have a whole lot of food due to the lack of food shopping. We looked through the mail and saw a menu for Vera’s with a half dozen coupons for both pickup and delivery. After glancing over the choices, we ended up picking the large cheese pizza, wings, large salad, and two liter Pepsi for $ 24. We also tacked on an order of garlic knots, so essentially it was like $ 27 altogether. Not bad. I placed the call for delivery and the driver showed up about 30 minutes later. She was super personable, polite, and didn’t seem to rush me, especially since I had to walk down two flights of stairs to pick up our order outside. Also, it’s FREE delivery for anyone else who’s interested.
The food was quite good, even for delivery, everything held up well. The wings were still crispy, and the garlic knots/​pizza were still hot. The salad was your average salad, but their house dressing was pretty solid. Everything tasted delicious and we all agreed that Vera’s will most likely be out go-​to pizza joint from now on. Totally recommended.

This place is hands down the best Italian food in Danbury. They have these unique focaccia sandwiches that can’t be found anywhere else. The balsamic chicken and steak are fantastic. The Pizza is amazing and the owners and their girls make the experience wonderful. I’ve told ALL my friends and family to come check it out. DELICIOUS FOOD!

I love Vera’s Trattoria! I live in Manhattan but make it a priority to stop by Vera’s every time I visit family in Danbury. Their pizza is so delicious, I think I’ve tried almost every type of slice! Everything is always so fresh and cooked to perfection. Also, I love family owned businesses and Vera’s is amazing. Everyone is always so friendly and accommodating. If you’re in the area and are looking for some excellent pizza from great people, you HAVE to go to Vera’s!

First time caller from NY… waitress for 15 years in an Italian restaurant… asked to have chicken sliced thin and was told no «they all come in the same size.» I felt like the gentlemen who sounded Italian was rude and would not recommend his business. Sorry Vera… I love my Italian food will order from somewhere else.

I called to place an order for delivery for 4 pies to a our office and I was told I had to pick it up. When I inquired in regards to delivery the man on the phone rudely stated «You’re not the only business getting lunch today.» We will never get food there again as many of our employees complained about the poor attitude and lacking customer service. Sal’s Pizza on Padanaram saved the day! Great pies and VERY friendly service.

I stopped in Vera’s Trattoria on the western border of Danbury CT. (Only about 2 miles from NY State Line) for a late lunch. I was immediately impressed by how immaculate the dining room was. Being that it was the tail end of lunch time the restaurant was half full. It was evident that other than myself, the people eating there were regulars. I can see why; the service was friendly, gracious, and professional. I had 2 slices of pizza. The slices were enormous with an homogenous blend of flavorful cheese, sauce, and crust. I
am from Northern NJ and we pride ourselves on excellent pizza. Having been in Danbury for a little over a week, I can say that this area takes a back seat to no place as far as the quality of the Pizza (I eat Pizza almost every day for lunch, as I am often traveling solo) Vera’s is certainly amongst the best Pizza in Danbury. Based on the reaction of the other people in the restaurant it seemed evident that their other selections offered the same high quality as the pizza. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great casual Italian Meal.

Got take out from here for the first time the other night. Great margherita pizza and calamari.

I grew up in New York with a neighborhood pizza shop since moving to Ct this has become my neighborhood pizza shop ! It is also a great restaurant with all your favorites and so much more. John and Vera (and family) are true professionals and experts in the restaurant biz ! Best pizza in town also if you’re in the mood for a salad you can’t go wrong here ! Love this place ! Highly recommended !!

This place is awesome! They have the best chicken parm dinner and their pizza is amazing. Please dine here you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place. Best pizza & Italian food in the state of Connecticut. And the owners treat us like family. I would recommend to everyone! Once you try them you will never go anywhere else. Must go.

I ordered delivery gluten free pizza and a salad. The gluten free pizza was not great and the salad was not impressive. The delivery took hours and the pizza was cool when it arrived. Tuscanero, a nearby eatery, has a tasty gluten free pizza.

Love, love, love this restaurant! Very family friendly and food is delicious. If you’re looking for an outstanding pizzeria, this is the place to go in Danbury! The staff welcomed us in with open arms, served us quickly, and were so sweet with our two year old.

Great Pizza, subs, Italian food, garlic knots, EVERYTHING. The staff is friendly and food is pretty quick. We usually take to go or have delivery, but the restaurant is nice on its own too! Highly recommend.

I think the other reviews were before the new owner, who only would say his name is «Robert», which is isn’t and I asked him why he would lie about his name and he said he was worried I would write about our exchange.
This is an awful, horrible, poorly run business where customer satisfaction is at the bottom of the priority list should be skipped at all cost. The old La Familia which became Vera’s for reasons unknown, was a great place to pick up a pizza on the way home or when you needed a luncheon in.
NO MORE! This dufus, «Robert», is such a complete idiot that he doesn’t seen to think he needs to make customers happy. I had purchased 2 Yahoo! Local coupons which were $ 30 each and I paid $ 15. I ordered my relatively large order and he refused to honor these coupons because he wanted us to dine in… he wanted other people to see his spot as a sit in restaurant and not a pick up pizza place.
I told him we were such good customers that we wanted to order something not on the menu… a chicken parm with an eggplant slice on it. a chic and eggplant parm grinder. His answer. NO. If it’s not on the menu, I will not make it. Period. So I offered to pay extra and he said. NO.
He then asked me to leave the store to which I told him he owed me $ 30 for my LocalAmazon coupons and he literally… literally. threw a $ 10 bill and 5-​$ 1 bills over the counter at me. I picked them up and picked the money in my pocket and he wanted it back.
I then asked my 18 year old child to join me in the restaurant so I wasn’t alone is just wanting to get my money back for the Amazon Local coupon. He decided, because I asked for a chix/​eggplant parm grinder which wasn’t on the menu, that he would tell me that the previous owner’s, the kind and courteous folks that they are, only were bringing in $ 14,000 a week and he was bringing in $ 20,000. I told him I thought he would soon be making $ 0 if he treated customers like me with such enormous disregard.
Please knows, I am a soccer mom of 3 teens, I walked in with a smile and in fantastic mood. I have never, ever encountered such a rude, tear evoking, and anger inducing episode as I had tonight at Vera’s with the «Robert»… big, goofy looking guy with a too small tee shirt and no right to be owning and dealing with the public.
I WILL NEVER BE BACK… I WILL TALK TO MY FRIENDS NEXT DOOR AT MOBIL/​CAR WASH TO NOT GIVE HIM BUSINESS, I WILL POST IN ON MY PTA WEBSITE, ON MY BLOG, ON THE DANBURY BLOG, ON THEIR WEBSITE AND ON ANY OTHER PUBLIC FORUM I CAN GET TO.

Icing on the cake was the cock roach that went straight across the pizza display as I stood there. Gross.
Trust me… eat elsewhere!!!

Been here several times and the food is excellent. Heading there tonight again.

Love this Place… Pizza awesome … Wings Rock… Antipasto chopped is the best… get it delivered and you got an evening!
