We went on Valentine’s Day weekend, so it was really busy. When showed up 15 minutes early and they were telling walk-ins an hour and a half wait. The Food: the appetizer was really good. The Dinner was ok. My mushroom ravioli sauce had a lingering vinegar taste to it. Dessert torte was really good. The Service: Very lacking. The server seemed to be running all over the place, but not accomplishing much. Dinner was presented by a runner without an announcement of what the plates where. Luckily we have had these before so we knew they were right. Never checked until the meal was done, and FAILED the beer test.(How long it takes a server to notice that you are close to being out of beer) In our case empty glass for 15 minutes and we had to ask for another, and a dessert menu. Which doesn’t exist? The show you a plate of prepared desserts, not all of them, with Crisco as ice cream and whip cream. So gross! Show me a menu and then walk away so we can discuss it instead of standing there waiting. Also, don’t stand there and clear everything off the table, quickly grab only what your two hands can in one motion and then as you pass by again, repeat. Clearing the whole table ruins the customer experience. Too bad they consolidate tips. A really good server doesn’t know how good they are and a mediocre server doesn’t know when they need improvement. We will go again; hopefully this was just rookie mistakes.

My sister and i were treated rudely from the time we were seated. The waitress was rude from the start. We ordered cocktails, and decidef after perusing the menu and her behavior, that we were not going to stay. Very disappointed.jan12,2016@430pm

Overpriced microwaved food with an unfriendly slow staff. The waitress didnt seem to care we were her table, as she was tending to larger tables that came in after us(to get those tips). When she finally did come over, at least 10 minutes later, she finally took our drinks and orders. I got a Caesar salad to start(which came out 5 minutes before our drinks did), which tasted like hospital food. I got gin and ginger with Hendricks gin allegedly but I couldn’t taste it. I got the pasta alla vodka which is ricotta cheese wrapped in pasta with vodka sauce, Pretty much just a ravioli. It was a blend bland, unimaginative, and incompatible ingredients. The pancetta across the top was reminiscent of the fake bacon you’ll find at Dunkin donuts and subway, I ended up picking it off. My girlfriend ordered a pasta dish with chicken and they brought it out with shrimp. The waitress apologized with an unsympathetic«oh sorry… The kitchen must have messed up.» When her correct food came, I finally got to eat my bland pasta balls and we toasted to the shitty fake Italian food we were about to eat. Being from new haven I have already had most of the good food CT has to offer, so I went in with low expectations due to the fact that Brio is a chain restaurant, but some expectations cannot be set low enough apparently.

Had the pesto chicken with angel hair pasta… Thought I was brought the wrong meal… Aside from 5 baby spinach leaves there wasn’t a single green color to be found. The food was extremely salty. This meal and my friends pesto chicken with quinoa were loaded with dry spices NOT fresh basil… This may be due to the fact that they were considered«light» meals. It was seriously disgusting. Also the asparagus was not prepped properly, half of it was was a fibrous, un-chewable mess. Never again

basically .you are paying for the décor. food is nothing special and overpriced. waiter brought out one tiny piece of bread for 4 people. i would definitey not return as there are far better locally owned italian restaurants.

Beautiful restaurant, great location BIG disappointment! We were going to go to cheesecake factory but they had an hour wait so we went to Brio… We should have just waited! They have an extensive menu that«looks» great! Our server had so many tables that took forever for him to come. Of course nobody else would stop by. We ordered the tomatoes and mozzarella for appetizer. They are just ok! The vinaigrette is not tasty at all. And they were just plain and flavorless. I ordered a chicken panini(which is amazingly described in the menu) it was so disgusting and completely inedible! It had so much pepper and spices you couldn’t swallow it. Orders the Mac and cheese for our toddler and she hated it. I decided to tried it and it was terrible! It is made with reggiano and it gets a very strong taste for a child. It is a shame because the location is great and the building is beautiful but their food and service suck! Also there was a female manager who kept on hiding behind the scenes instead of coming to the tables to address the issues. Poorly managed place!

Service was decent despite some negative reviews from other Unilocalers. Maybe I was lucky today. This place is very expensive for what it is and despite being very well decorated, the high prices do not reflect the quality of the meal. $ 44.00 before tips for 2 panini sandwiches, 2 lemonades a and 2 glasses of water. There was nothing special about the panini, and mine was served warm, but not hot. Some parts of the cheese weren’t melted thoroughly. Otherwise it would have been a 3 star review.

My husband and I went here a week ago, and we both had a great dining experience! Our food was delicious and our server was funny and attentive. The manager was also very attentive and made sure our food was fresh and hot! We shared the three courses for $ 20, and also had the 4 flavor bruschetta(it has a different name on the menu, but it escapes me at the moment)… So good! The bruschetta was absolutely incredible; I will be going back to get more soon. We had the caramel marscapone(sp?) cheesecake that was to die for, and the atmosphere is very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. Really couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience!

The only thing tasty here is the wine. The service was terrible. The server did not refill the water glasses when it was requested, the orders came out wrong. The dish I ended up with was the roasted chicken with risotto which resembled dog food and tasted like a full shaker of salt. My dinning companions were also nor impresses by their meals. On a positive the restaurant was decorated in a beautiful Italian Tuscan style and was comfortable. There is also plenty of outdoor seating if you enjoy watching the mall traffic roll by. You’ll do better going to the malls food court. The meals were also over priced.

Whenever i am viaiting my aunt in Connecticut and go to the Danbury Mall we always take a break and have lunch here. The servers are very nice and the food is good. My aunt loves it here and I guess this is why I like it so much. It’s nice to see her happy and enjoying herself. They treat her special here and this is why they get the full 5 stars.

Food wasn’t bad, but the staff treated us like an inconvenience. Took 15 minutes to take our order, 20 minutes to bring simple food out, never refilled a water glass. in spite of asking twice. Had to flag down a waiter(Not ours, I am not sure ours was capable of moving from her conversation with another waitress to actually wait tables) to get the check, and then, had to go drag the check over to pay it. The manager basically shrugged when this was described to her. «That’s not my experience.» I love it when people contradict complaints of bad service as if this somehow makes it go away.

Almost a four. Almost. This was my first time at a Brio Tuscan Grille. I was at the Danbury Mall via Philadelphia. Was meeting my parents from Boston to pick up my kids from a weeklong visit to The Grandparents. I had never even heard of Brio Tuscan Grille. I figured they were a chain, but gave it a try anyway as there really isn’t much to eat around the mall. First of all, the atmosphere is very relaxed. The place is HUGE and open and airy. There is plenty of seating. The menu is somewhat limited for the type of restaurant it is. Prices are reasonable, if not slightly on the too high end. We were greeted, and seated promptly. The staff overall was excellent, and friendly. One concern I have is that my wife ordered a chicken salad of somesorts and requested no cucumbers. They couldn’t honor that request because the salads we were told were premade. Giveaway that it’s a chain. Seriously? Can’t make a salad without cucumbers? I ordered a steak salad. It was huge with an adequate amount of steak in it. Very filling. There is a kids menu, important that I have three kids. As chain restaurants go, this is far better than the other ones. If you are out-and-about and would like a lunch, and you are at the mall, by all means, stop here. You won’t be dissapointed. Don’t, however, travel out of your way to get here. Not worth it. Food was good, but not very memorable.

The service here is slowwwwwwwwww. We stopped in for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon. The place was pretty much dead. We sat outside on a nice day and after about 5 minutes our server came for some drink orders. A iced tea(one of their specials for the day) and a bloody mary. Took us about 10 – 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Girlfriend ordered a Bruschetta and a side salad while I got an entrée salad. The side salad came out first about 15 minutes after we ordered. We then waited another 20 minutes for the main course to come out. It’s Bruschetta and a salad, no reason to take so long. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but the slow service killed it for us. What we expected to be a quick lunch turned into a hour and half affair and ended up making us miss a train to the city. I’d skip this place next time.

Place is beautiful. Food is pretty good. Service is generally average. My biggest complaint is the price. It shouldn’t be $ 20 plus $ 5 for a salad to eat chain Italian. There are much nicer options for the price.

Waste of carbs, pasta was dried out, our server disappeared and had to ask host for the bill. All dinner items were unacceptable. Will probably not return.

If your looking 4 service good price and a warmth, at the mall of all places. …The weather was freezing on February 12and rather than stand out in the freezing cold I waited for my ride in the Brio Tuscan Grill @ the Danbury Mall… at ‘The Bar’. I’m not frequenter of mall bars but I was pleasantly surprised and how I was greeted from the moment I sat down considering my chance of being back were rather small(I only visit the Danberry mall seasonly because I live in New York). I was greeted with a handshake, a name and a smile… all for a man who is just going to have one drink. I know some of the meet and greet is a formula but it was nice to see employees who did look pained by the process. Servers Michael and Will @ the bar standout. My wife came in and we stayed for an unplanned dinner.

We’ve never actually been to a BRIO before, but overall I’m a fan. We opted to sit at a bar table since there was zero wait and our server Mike, was pleasant, warm and overall pretty attentive. The fried calamari with the fried pepperocini is what we started with and I then had the salmon special that had their crab/shrimp cake on top over quinoa and roasted veggies. Hubs had the stuffed pasta alla vodka and it was very good, but super rich. Prices were fair for the portion size and I would have no problem going back again!

My son and I went in to grab a quick bite to eat after a long day and a little bit of shopping. We sat at one of the high tables in the bar area to have the«taster menu«specials. We usually grab a few to make it worthwhile for the wait staff and to bring some home to my husband and other son. It took a while for someone to bring us menus. When the waitress did, she was polite & apologetic. We ordered a whole bunch of items to taste(some were new), when they came the other waitress that brought our food over said«Wow, this is a ton of food, not that I am judging, but wow» My son looked at me and rolled his eyes. I asked her to pack up a few things that we knew we were bringing home. Once again she said«I am not judging». At that point I firmly said«it’s fine, my husband had to take my little guy home, please just pack it up» We ate what we wanted and had to WAIT, and wait and wait for someone to come back over. It honestly felt like forever. I was also charged for something that I ordered, but never came out. She offered to take it off the bill and send it home with me for free. I declined that offer. I gave 3 stars because the food was fine. But the service last night was way off. We honestly couldn’t wait to just get out and go home. When we finally left, my son turned to me and said«see, I told you we should have gone to Chipotle»… I had no argument, he was right.
