Nice ambiance, beautiful sunset. Great calamari appetizer along with chips and really good real guacamole. Asian pear grilled chicken salad very tasty. Emma was a great server. Top notch ice cream cake.

Wow what ever happened to your coconut shrimp? Used to be great. Just had it 2Feb was so bad tasted like it was frozen from Costco. Been eating here over 25 years what a big step down in quality. Very disappointed. Management needs to check this out! Frank Robinson (949)4955608

Oh geez, not very good. We ate/drank in the bar, our server Natalie was excellent, professional, welcoming and helpful. Parking was easily accomplished, the lot is extremely large. My friend had an Anchor Steam($ 6.50) and I had two glasses of the Hess Cabernet($ 10.75). Pour was legit. Bread was sourdough rolls… my buddy said that they were excellent. We started with a shared plate of Calamari strips which were very good($ 9.95) light, fresh, crispy and served with an aioli and a a tarter sauce… it went downhill badly from there. The highly recommended tuna stack($ 28.95) was a disaster. Presentation sucked. It was a large pile of rice with a thin, limply cooked crab cake, and a CHUNK of seared tuna, with about a full ounce of fried wonton strips piled on top. It tasted meh, and looked horrible, and logistically, it was difficult to eat… on top of that, it was insultingly expensive for what was provided. What it SHOULD have been was a carefully layered dish, with excellent eye appeal and mindful preparation. I would be embarrassed for this dish to leave my kitchen. My friend had the fish tacos($ 14.95), he loved the chipotle salsa, and I have to admit it was quite tasty, but the fish did not taste fresh to him. Left an almost $ 20.00 tip, and departed quickly, will never darken Harpoon Henry’s doorstep again… blahhhhh!

Excellent location and décor. Service(Heidi I believe) was superb. I give it three stars because I was unimpressed by the crab cakes I had and felt it was seriously overpriced. Not sure even the location and view would get me to go back.

Ahhhh this place was so good! Great service and reasonably priced for being a seafood restaurant right on the water($ 20 – 30 entrees). Fiancé and I shared a clam chowder bread bowl and for our entrees we shared the seafood combo & the Atlantic salmon. The salmon had so much flavor with the soy glaze but my favorite was the scallop I tried off the seafood combo plate. Literally melted in my mouth. To top it off, we showed up with no reservations at 7 pm on a Saturday, had us seated within 5 min at a table overlooking the water. Seriously wish we lived closer so I could make this place a regular when I get my seafood cravings!

Im giving a 2 star, and ill explain why, food was amazing! I expected it being expensive were on the water. Derrick our waiter was attentive and met our needs. Almost didnt eat here due to Chelsea the greeter very poor attitude, and not at all nice. For a nice place on the water in Dana Point you would think the greeter would be just the best. Instead of a kid with attitude. We asked for a table with shade as we have a 5month old and 4yr old. She did not offer to help us and then was rude when we had to move tables.

Perfect venue, great view, excellent seafood. The battered Mahi Mahi and Filet of Sole were great. Perfect clear sky at the harbor. Parking is plentiful. Save time for a stroll along the docks after dinner. We capped that off with an easy drive back to Neport Beach, via PCH.

The food here is great! My server was Sara, she’s a doll! very energetic, you can tell she really cares about her job! After a lovely dinner we decided to sit at the bar for a few drinks, it was a Saturday night, nice crowd, and they even had live entertainment. The Drinks here are excellent! Channing makes a wonderful Mojito, so be sure you try the MOJITO!

We ate at HH’s while staying at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott across the street. The view of the marina was nice and our server was especially attentive. Other than that, the food was absolutely horrible. My wife had the shrimp tacos which she said were bland. I ordered the chowder and it was extremely thick and tasteless. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and they brought out super-thin strips. They had no taste and were pretty greasy. I figured the shrimp, Mahi Mahi and scallop dinner would be better but it was worse! I left this place with an upset stomach and wishing that we had simply eaten at the hotel.

So… A relative and I dined at Harpoon Henry’s this afternoon. We arrived at their patio entrance and no one was there. When the hostess finally did come, she said«I’ll seat you now» then just walked away. Another employee came to ask if wend been helped then sat us herself even tough she was a waitress. The portions aren’t all that great but the food was really good. We ordered margaritas and they were very watery. I sent it back and ordered a different type and it was just as water. The booth we sat in had barbecue sauce along the bottom of it and it go on my relatives pants. The plates and utensils were also not clean at all. Overall, the food was great just seemed like snack-sized entrees and the stay away from the margaritas unless you like yours with extra water.

Terrible service… If I could give it 0 stars I would. When we asked for simple requests like a coffee refill or some tapatio they forgot to bring it. They provided us with a sad excuse for sautéed artichoke and spinach. Im embarrassed that I took my mom here for mothers day.

Party of ten on a Sunday Night. Nice atmosphere. Food overall was great. Drinks were well mixed. our waiter did a great job. I had the calamari steaks, they were awesome. It was a 730 reservation and there were a about six other tables that were being served. Very intimate setting.

The restaurant is divided into two parts: a formal dining area upstairs and a casual dining patio downstairs. I decided to eat in the patio area and my review does not cover the upstairs dining area. The patio is nice because it has windows all around that give diners a nice view of the harbor. The tables have plastic patio chairs, which I understand because it is a patio, but I think they could do slightly better with the décor. The patio menu isn’t exciting. It features the typical appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees that can be found at most restaurant. There are two exceptions though. They have a burger and wine combo for $ 299.95, granted it is a special wine, but seriously? I wanted to ask the waitress how often someone orders that, but I couldn’t because we hardly ever saw her. There were only a few other tables filled while we were there, but the service was so slow. It felt like our waitress went on a break between the times she checked on us. Next time I am in Dana Point, I will try another restaurant before coming here again.

Came here for drinks/dinner with my girlfriends to watch the Christmas Boat Parade in the harbor… I called the day of(a Friday) and requested a reservation with a window seat and the hostess assured me we would be able to see the boat parade perfectly and had be down for 7:30 with a window seat. We ended up being a little behind so I called and let them know and when we got there we were seated in the main dining area where there is a whole line of windows, but we were at a table that was up a step and not right up against the window, which was fine because you can’t see the damn parade very well here anyway! It was very Christmas-y and cozy inside and the service was wonderful, which is what made the experience nice and not as disappointing and I thought it would be considering we could hardly see the boats… they are way, way off in the distance looking out the windows here. You would have a much better view from Waterman’s or Wind and Sea. Anyway, our server was very quick and attentive and we had a couple bottles of wine and some light food. I only had a salad so I can’t really comment as to how good an actual meal here is, but the menu is extensive and moderately priced with some pretty good wine selections to boot. Around 8:30, an Elvis impersonator showed up to perform in the cocktail lounge area(toward the front of the restaurant) where there were plenty of people enjoying drinks(they have plenty of small tables in the lounge/bar area). Overall this place has an awesome, old timey vibe to it. Definitely not full of young, sexy people, but it has an appeal all on its own and I respect that. I would totally come back here for a couple drinks or a daytime lunch, just not for the boat parade.

Came here with my parents for our anniversary dinner. Needless to say it wasn’t our best meal. Even though when we made our reservation for an anniversary, no one congratulated us. Our food was ok. Thought it would be better considering the harbor view. Waitress forgot my drink order and brought it after we had already finished our meal. We just sent it back since it was much to late to drink it. The desserts were good, much better than the meal itself. When we walked out even though there were three ladies at the desk no one even said a simple«thank you» or «goodnight». We will not be returning. Especially if this is how they treat people on a special night. I could only imagine how it is for a regular dinner.

If you like to hang out with cockroaches, water bugs, whatever they were, then this is the place to go. I can’t even believe this place. 1st the waitress told me the wrong amount of sliders on the plate. It was seriously 2 bites Ordered another plate. By the time it came the other person was done eating. Mind you there was one other table occupied in the entire patio. Seconds after she brought the second plate a cockroach ran by!!! I screamed and obviously lost my appetite. She came out. I told her what happened. Then she asked if I wanted it to-go! R u kidding me. I just had a cockroach hanging out w me. Then after all that… I had to ask to have the 2nd portion taken off my bill. Like really? Waitress misinformed me first of all, secondly there was a cockroach. Never ever going back! Bad service! Cockroaches! That should say enough.
