Best chicken and vegetable buns in Daly City. My husband likes their pork buns also, but I think they’re a bit too sweet. The wonton noddle soups are really good too but sometimes a little bit oily. I love the curry puff, they are yummy! The place looks unsanitary but the food is always on point. Oh and CASHONLY.

I wish I can give them 5 stars, but this little hidden gem seems super dirty. Everytime I’m here I hear the people at the back coughing with alot of Phlegm and spitting it out. like I said I HEARIT but have not SEENIT. REGARDLESS I still come here for my dim sum cravings. My usual order consist of baked bbq pork buns and rice rolls in dried shrimps and green onions. IT’S AMAZING !!! I have attached some pictures so take a look at how gorgeous my baked bbq pork bun is! The rice sheets come with some soy sauce type of dipping sauce, delish! Keep in mind it’s CASHONLY and the food is super affordable. They offer — Steamed buns Baked buns Shu Mai Shrimp chive or cilantro dumplings Beef balls Egg rolls Pot stickers Wonton soup Thin egg noodle chow main Chinese doughnut Sweet rice cake Chicken turn overs My all time fave RICEROLLSWITHDRIEDSHRIMPANDGREENONIONS …that’s all I can remember You do need to a small fee for the plastic containers about .10 or .25 cents.

I’ve always known this place was here but never bothered to go in since I never am the kind of person to have cash on me. I dropped off some dry cleaning nearby and decided to go in here since it was open, I had cash, there was a line of anxious customers, and I was parked right in front. It was a sign that I had to give this place a chance. There’s no menu so as you’re waiting you’re just trying to peek at the display to order since you don’t want to be THAT indecisive customer that holds everyone up. Their selection was pretty basic as there were steam buns, cilantro shrimp, chow mein, soup with duck egg, egg buns, bbq baked buns, spicy wontons, bbq pork turnovers, egg custards, and potstickers. Would’ve been nice to see some of those noodle rolls I love so much, but chances are that they were sold out since there were a lot of empty rows in the display case. Best thing about this place? Dirt Cheap. It was 2 something for a pound of chow mein and $ 2.70 for 3 buns and $ 2.70 for dim sum. Everything was below $ 3 for 3 or so. I think it was even 4 custards for $ 2. So the big question, what I get? I got 6 steam buns(mixed with chicken and veggie; BBQ pork, egg custard, and Chinese sausage), 3 dim sum, 3 potstickers, and 1 lb of chowmein. My total damage was under $ 15. I guess to me that’s cheap since a salad in the financial district cost $ 10 + a gooey cookie and I would pretty much hit the cost of all this dim sum. Sadly only steamed buns were still warm when I got home. I’m pretty sure the food is served lukewarm here. My thoughts? I think the food was ok, doesn’t really stick out for me. I could also be a dim sum snob since I work near SF’s China Town and have had some pretty amazing dim sum there. Taste fell short and was either salty or too plain. The bread on the steamed buns also crumble pretty easily. Next time I come here, I will pass on the dim sum and instead will try the soups which seem to range from $ 4 – 7 each.

I was craving dim sum but didn’t want to spend the afternoon waiting for my number to be called while waiting at a dim sum restaurant. Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers I was able to find a to go place without driving all the way to Chinatown or Inner Richmond. Not bad at TC. It is not the size of Mong Kok or Wing Lee or Delicious(all in SF Chinatown) or as high quality as the Tai Wu or Koi Palace. But it is a closer drive. So so — har gow(shrimp dumpling) — fried shrimp cake — spring roll — lo mai chicken Liked — efficient counter service — easy parking. Yes, they will charge you for a container and cash only. So for the lack of ambiance and easy parking, it hits the spot. Next time I will try the jook as well.

They changed their recipe and use cheap ingredients. I use to crave the shrimp dumplings because of the water chestnuts. The wrapping is cheap and the filling has no flavor. Stay away. Disgusting now.

If you need take out Dim Sum, this is the place to go! Often times, we are ordering a quantity of items and here at TC, they have it in the right quantities, so you don’t feel limited. Baked Pork Buns, Sui Mai, Shrimp /Cilantro balls, Rolled Flat Noodles, Sesame Balls, Egg Custard and regular steamed pork buns is what I ordered this time. I had ordered a dozen each of the pork buns, 6 orders of the Sui Mai, 3 and 4 orders of the Shrimp and Rolled Noodles, then 2 and 3 orders of the Sesame and Egg Custards. This all came out to about 65.00 so it was worth it. We got here at 8:11 am and there were a few people in front of us. After about 5 minutes, there were about 20 people in line behind us. It was Christmas Eve. I still recommend to go early and get what you need. The quality of the food, the fast service, the available quantity is just right. They also have other dishes like Won Ton Soup and etc that is prepared and ready. I really like this place and cannot wait to get one of these in Las Vegas! GK says, check it out.

For dim sum this is expensive but given that there aren’t many on the go dim sum places nearby, they can justify the pricing a bit. Down side is that the dim sum is super oily. Much more oil than needed. Get the porridge! I love the preserved egg porridge.

I never realize that there is a dim sum to-go place at Irving, until I got sick. So I search on Unilocal to look for Chinese style porridge, since I had a really severe sore throat. The porridge here tastes good, and it’s a great value. My husband bought a lot of mango pudding from here also. Overall it’s a nice place to go for porridge and dim sum if you want to have a Chinese style simple meal.

Fast service, cash only, has a parking lot since its in a «shopping square,» good selection of food(decent when it comes to dim sum specifically), about 8 tables for casual dining in Oh, and on a side note, this is one of the only places for dim sum I’ve been where the people behind the counter speak good English. Not hating on ESL peeps, it’s expected and take it for what it is. My tailor, for example, God bless her, but I need to slow down my English with her. Whatever, all good. It’s just refreshing not having to talk slower is all :)

I found this place on Unilocal since my boyfriend and I were looking for a different place to get some quick food near our house. The bakery is small though so I would suggest ordering to go. We ordered three turnip cake, three taro balls, three baos, one jook, and one pound of chow mein all for about $ 14. There was so much that we split it up as breakfast and lunch for the both of us. The taro, turnip, and jook are all especially good so I would definitely recommend those. Be aware that they only take cash though and charge for each plastic container used. Each table also has a small variety of sauces but they don’t have to-go packages so you have to put them on your food while you’re there. Overall, I will be coming here very often to get my fix of dim sum.

t c pastry, so how long has it been since I have been coming here? A life time for some legal adults. Nothing has really changed beside the prices have gone up a bit. But that is the way of business. Not the most clean place. The food is dirt cheap, the quality is most decent. You would not come here dressed to impress but, come here in PJ’s and wife beater shirt if Daly City weather is willing to cooperate. Some of the things to know is this is Cash only!!! Line up. If you cannot pronounce the item, Just point to what you want. They have a glass display. They also have rice soup with duck egg and pork.(perfect for a cold day) filling and tasty. Hot tea,(you get a tea bag and cup, water spout is located near the coffee. An it’s like 5000 degrees so let it cool down before you drink.) The hot dog pastry is a buck and is sweet and good. Shrimp balls and everything else is cheap so try different stuff.

You come to TC to grab your inexpensive dim sum by the box and leave. Leave the brunch plans and nice clothes at home. Stroll in here at 10am hungover looking for fried starchy goodness or porridge if you’re under the weather. Cash only the last time I check and has that«soup nazi» service. There’s two ladies that work here, one being the kind and warm one that serves with a smile and the other one staring at you repeating«what else??» I get the pork sui mai, har gow, porridge, fried taro, and bbq pork buns. That’s about a meal and leftovers for about $ 11. I come here once every other week but never stay for longer than 5min. It’s my dim sum booty call.

It’s cheap dim sum minus the frills and thrills. Their soup settles my chills. Their taho with tapioca don’t ruin my grills. Their deep fried taro is worth the skrills. TC Pastry helps me pay my bills. Because it’s cheap. TC Pastry is a definite ‘hole-in-the-wall wtf kind of restaurant is this’ type of place. Yet it’s also worth a weekly visit. It may not be a state of the art establishment but once you inhale the food, that so-called state of the art stuff does not matter. $ 20 could order you a feast, and then some. Great place. Great find. Tell your friends. Daly City in the house!

It’s a hole in the wall and one of the only cheap dim sum places in Daly City if not the only. Service isn’t that great but your not their to be served. You their to quickly choose what you want, pay and get your food and change. Most of their dim sum options are actually decent for the price. I definitely like the fried taro balls, curry puffs, deep fried wontons and siu mais. Their porridges are also okay and their egg tarts are so-so. Overall it is affordable and definitely stop by when you want a quick and cheap dim sum bite but I like the tc pastry in irving better since I think they have more options there.

I’m sad that this place only has 3.5 stars, they deserve so much more! This place is the definition of a hole in the wall. Not the cleanest, but that’s how you know it’s going to be good food! ;) It’s extremely inexpensive, you end up ordering a lot more than you can eat! Which is just fine, more food for tomorrow. They sell different kinds of dim sum, and noodle soup. My favorites are the wonton noodle soup, taho, and the cilantro shrimp dumplings. Honestly, I order a lot more than those three things, but those were the first that came to my mind. Everything here is really good and really cheap, bring the whole family!

This place is a major hole in the wall. I don’t know what half the stuff is. The ladies there are not super helpful, but they are really just taking orders and handing you the food. There usually is a line because the food is cheap and tasty. They sell the stuff by orders like 3 or 4 pieces. My favorites are the baked pork bun, the crispy wonton, the shrimp cilantro balls and the chicken patties. But the star for me is the chowmein. It’s like 3 bux for a whole pound, it’s simple just noodles and bean sprouts. I’ve had the dim sum that’s in the counter, I don’t know what it was but it was good.

The cheapest and best take out dim sum in Daly City! From the outside TC Pastry doesn’t look like much but the sizes of the dim sum items are incredible and cheap. Quality is not compromised. They have probably every popular and traditional dim sum items plus a few other special ones. It is so cheap, you probably only need around $ 10 to fill your belly. Sitting space is very limited. Their lines can get long, but it’s almost always less than a 5 minute wait. Bottom line if you’re craving dim sum and don’t want to wait and just want to get in and out, then this is the place. I will be back again when I am in the hood.
