I went here this past weekend and had the chicken phở. After adding lime in it, the phở was pretty tasty. There was alot of noodles and big chunks of chicken in my regular sized bowl. My husband had the spicy beef phở which was also good. Service was fast and attentive but not overbearing. I like how the waiter asked if he wanted his phở spicier and checking if we were ok.

this little out of the way place is pretty good for what they serve. vietnamese restaurant who also owns the sushi place next door so you get japanese and vietnamese. the tomato crab noodle is pretty good. the soup stock is rich and flavorful and not overly salty, so not sure why some say it is. but if you find it’s salty, just mention it and they will remake it for you. pretty nice owners and items are pretty fresh and freshly made. cost is pretty inexpensive too. so not bad.

It was so good! I kept trying to make more room. The chicken soup with rice noodles was fabulous!

Every time I come here, it’s always empty. So sometimes it takes a while to get their attention since they’re usually in the ktichen. I usually get their bun rieu since no Phở places nearby really serve this. I like my soup really hot but the first few times I was here, it wasn’t that hot. But lately it’s been. One time the meat we ordered was too salty. I like that we can order from the Japanese menu from next door. Best of both worlds! Plus the seating here is bigger compared to Oriental Kitchen. I like coming here since it’s near my place.

Found this place closeby as I was running errands. Not sure why Unilocalers recommended their bun trieu, the crab tomato soup :-( Based on food I would give 1 star. But the customer service was good and friendly so I gave the 2nd star for that. Walked in at 12pm on a Saturday and it is empty… already not a good sign. The guy saw I was cold and asked if I wanted something to drink, like hot tea. I was pleased. It was a hot tea served in those thick Huntington Beach plastic cups. It was hotter than I like but it did the job. The same guy took my order – he was very nice. When the soup came out, he cane back and asked how it was. He even told me the broth is made with a blue shelled crab. I was honest and said the shrimp flavor was very strong, but i wasnt blatantly honest to tell him that it was way too salty, and that I couldnt finish my meal, let alone really enjoy it. I was very disappointed in the soup. Some tofu chunks, thin vermicelli, looked like an egg drop soup, and i found small dried shrimp — im used to this dried shrimp in my parents’ Filipino cooking, but yikes this soup was just not fresh or flavorful. Im glad they did serve fresh bean sprouts, basil, lime and jalapeño, but it didnt make up for the rest of the bowl. I could barely finish half of it. Two guys walked in as I was finishing up. I wanted to ask then if theyve eaten here before, but really just wanted to leave by that point. Street parking was easy to find. Apparently there is also a Japanese menu which I dont plan to ever order off of. Sadly, I wont be returning. This was not a good meal by any means. I’m glad I got to try it out though. Wish I had a better experience. Pics of my meal are posted.

My fiancé ordered the bun rieu and I had the chicken with garlic noodles. We both shared fried egg rolls. The Thai tea was ok. The food tho was good. I was stuffed my self and was satisfied. My fiancé kept commenting on how good the broth was in the bun rieu. The owner said the broth was from the crab, which I tasted as well. There was no pork/crab meat which she was a little disappointed but was happy there was tofu and tomatoes. Still better than the other bun rieu she’s had in the Bay Area. We hope to come there again to try their other foods. The owner was very nice as well. He gave us directions to where the mall was because we weren’t from the area. Very nice mom n pop Vietnamese phở spot, we will definitely becoming back for more bun rieu!

Prices Ok, Taste Ok. the only thing thats not Ok is the guy who help me! he’s kinda rushing me, its our first time we we’re kinda confuse on what we want, the guy server makes us feel rush and stupid on not knowing what we want. he didnt even bother helping us or suggesting whats good on the menu, he was just basically looking at us bored and everytime i ask him about the food he’s being a smart ass. prolly wont go here anymore tho. nothing special tho foods just ok, we order bento box combination of 2 choices i got beef teriyaki and salmon sashimi that goes with it is just literally 2pcs like the size of my thumb lol beef teriyaki is ok, my daughter order chicken teriyaki(taste ok) with 1pc of shrimp tempura.

Yea they are OK I suppose. Server dude with the brim was nice & attentive. We ordered phở & shrimp spring rolls. There was only one small shrimp in each of the four rolls. Ok I guess. LOL but anyways when the kitchen dude in the back delivered our two bowls of Phở he didn’t hide the fact that the bowls were burning his hand. He looked angry at us yelling«OUCH, OUCH!!!» Like it was our fault. My friend and I looked at each other like okaaaaayyy. I’d probably skip this place & find somewhere else for phở because I didn’t like their rice noodles in the phở anyway.

Absolute great place to have sushi and Phở. We sit in the sushi place, it shares the menu of the phở but they two have different kitchens. I cannot love it more. The spicy beef noodles B17 is way beyond my expectation, we always get sushi and ramen here so no need to highlight its greatness. 100% come back soon.

Great place to have vietnamese food in the bay area. Portions are generous and yiu can tell by the food they take their time in preparing all their food. I would highly recommend to give a try if you have yet to go.

Their bun rieu style is the way I prefer, with crushed ground crab paste rather than the ball or lump versions at other places. Note they do not provide chopped lettuce or mint leaves(both are musts IMO) and so I cannot 100% vouch for it, maybe 75%. Everything I’ve tried so far is okay here(pun not intended phở-sure). Nothing bad so far, albeit nothing stupendous to go out of the way for either. If you prefer cleanliness for a noodle house this is worthy of a stop — if in the area. Really three stars average but they open until 10pm, which is amazing for an eatery in Daly City. Also, the place is never even a quarter full, let alone packed at any of the times I’ve gone. Milestone: the 17,000th Compliment’s review.

Ended up here with a hearty appetite after jogging lake Merced. Got the train head(for those that don’t know it’s the XXXL) and finished it all. It was delicious and healthy as they don’t add msg.

This place is AWESOME. Their phở taste a little bit different than other phở places and that’s because it doesn’t use MSG in any of their food. Tried the supersize phở and it’s enough to feed two people. The 5 color rice is also a must try. Super juicy and smokey pork chop, chicken and beef with an over and easy egg on top of the rice. Once you cut it open the egg yolk drips into the rice underneath. Perfection!!! Some people have issue with the owner but he’s just a guy full of passion with his food(can be defensive at times). I cut him some slack as I’m fine with a passionate owner who is proud of his product. Price is reasonable and portion is big. Must try!

I’ve had a hard time finding good phở since moving from so cal. My friend took me here and this place was more then I expected. It was packed so you know that’s a good sign. I ordered rare steak phở and it was really good, not as much meat as some places, but I ordered a small. So I wasn’t expecting much. The flavor was great. One thing I liked is with the veggies they give, they also included cilantro which I love. The service was ok. Food came out fast and that’s all I cared about. Oh also try the watermelon tapioca drink with out the tapioca! It’s so refreshing!

It’s not often that the title of a restaurant matches it perfectly. Just like their name suggests, they’re just«OK.» They have this challenge where if you eat 2 pounds of noodles and another 2 pounds of meat that they’ll give you $ 20 and that food for free. Um, I barely liked your one small bowl of noodles. How am I supposed to eat pounds of it? A great deal of fanfare has been given to this place because they don’t use MSG. Well, big whoop. Does that automatically give them 5 stars? I don’t think so. I found the quality to price ratio higher than most. I like my broth piping hot, not just warm. It has an okay flavor though, and though they cook it for many hours to get that beef stock, I really couldn’t taste the exceptional quality. It was good, just not great or spectacular. I thought the beef was chewy and in didn’t see any rare beef at all. This place was just okay. Much like the name suggests.

OK Phở is owned by the same owners as Oriental Kitchen. The restaurant is very spacious, clean, and wheelchair accessible. They have a phở challenge where you have 60 minutes to finish 2 lbs of noodle, 2 lbs of meat, and soup. If you can do it, your meal is free and they give you $ 20. However, the penalty is $ 35 if you’re unable to finish it and/or get help from others. Also, you must be at least 18 yrs old to do this challenge. Aside from the menu, they have daily specials on rotation. Two of the items we ordered were from their daily special(DS) and two were from the menu. Bun Rieu(DS) — Many Vietnamese restaurants use a mixture of crab, shrimp, & pork in their bun rieu. OK Phở prides itself as they use only crab meat. The broth was very flavorful and contained no MSG. Beef Stew Noodle Soup(DS) — Flavorful broth and tender meat. When the bowl was brought out initially, there wasn’t much meat. The owner noticed and apologized. He then went into the kitchen and brought out a bowl of meat and said he didn’t know what the kitchen staff was thinking. Chicken Phở — No MSG, which is a good thing. They use boneless chicken breast so the meat was a bit dry and the broth wasn’t very flavorful. This was just«OK». Fish Cakes — The fish cakes were delicious and perfectly crisp. They’re handmade and made fresh as I didn’t taste the fishiness. Vietnamese Coffee — Good coffee and not overly sweet.
