Nice trendy café. Modern interior. Pictures of many menu items on the wall. Staff was very informed & friendly.
I had the Pad See Eww … It was very good. The noodles were tender & it had just enough sauce/​seasoning. Orders are placed at the counter. The food was ready very quickly & served by waitstaff to the table. The prices are moderate, but I’d definitely eat here again.
Wifi is available in the spot as well. There are lots of businesses in the area, SMU is nearby & Mockingbird station is just down the street.

my office and i LOVED this place when it was Wai Wai. Now that it is bought out by lover’s egg roll it SUCKS. We ordered the regular today and they let us know about the conversion to Lover’s Egg Roll. They asked if we wanted our menu items the Wai Wai style or Lover’s style. We told them Wai Wai and what we got was crap. This is no longer the same Wai Wai. Underwhelming food, no flavor, and no spice. I miss Wai Wai!!! Do yourself a favor and find a new Thai place.

Delivery was speedy and the driver was very wonderfully friendly!
I was very nervous since I have only ever had Thai at a small place in Arlington but was really craving Thai. I ordered Basil Stir Fry w/​Chicken and spring rolls. Everything was hot when I received it and the taste was perfect!
I will definitely order many times!

First I have to say I’m not an expert in Thai food. When i was in Vietnam which borders Thailand, I was not into the super spicy and super coconuty Thai food there at all. Here, we have a type of easier to eat Americanized Thai food, which I’m willing to try. Nevertheless, Wai Wai is one of the few rare Thai place I’d go back to.
Been here a couple of times, there are things that I like and things I won’t order again. Their Thai tea is of master level! Get that for sure. Drunken flat noodle is another best, with choice of beef, chicken and shrimp. Their soups are pretty decent as well.
Service wise, decent but do not expect too much.

The wife and I tried this place on Friday night. No wait at all for our food (the place was deserted!) so that was great. However, in our part of the city, there are so many better Thai places than here. I’m not going to name them all off because that would be just wrong, but I can think of 3 or 4 within the same driving distance that serve food that maybe come out 1 or 2 minutes later than what WaiWai gave me, but they are 2x to 3x better.
I had the Thai chicken basil rice– no spice, just bland. The small cup of Thai chili sauce provided didn’t provide anything but a little heat.
The wife had the Pad See Ew (not sure of spelling). She liked the meal, but she had to agree with me that we should have gone to a coupl eof our faves.
For the price and the quality, I won’t be back. If I am in a time crunch, I’ll think about this place again– maybe.

The Asian man doesn’t say much, but boy does he bring me my food fast.
The deliver man, that is. I am a huge fan of Nandina on Lower Greenville when it comes to Thai food, but sometimes I don’t want to pay a $ 20 minimum order plus tip and wait an hour to get my food. 2 of my friends live off of Wai Wai, and literally ate it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner this past semester, always updating their Facebook statuses about their escapades to the hole-in-the-wall-that’s-not-a-hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
I decided yesterday that I wanted to try something new, especially when I saw that they had free delivery with a $ 12 order. $ 12? Thank you for being reasonable! I started ordering online, and then realized that their prices were pretty good too. I am a huge fan of Pad See Ew, and have no problem gobbling down crab rangoons and crispy spring rolls with my Thai. At the end of the day, it worked out to be about 20% cheaper than Nandiana’s, so I was pretty pleased to say the least.
«Alright», I thought to myself. I was waiting for the catch. I had ordered Bangkok City Thai a couple of weeks ago, and had all but promised that I wasn’t going to venture out of my Nandina comfort zone when it came to Thai food again. That reminds me, I need to write a review of that crap hole.
Regardless, them confirmation email I received told me to sit tight as it would be about 45 minutes to an hour.
«That’s fine», I thought to myself. Nandina took the same amount of time anyway, and this delivery is coming from about twice as far.
30 minutes later, my doorbell rings. Wow! It was him; the Asian man that brought the goods. He hurriedly handed my the receipt and muffled for my to sign it. I did, and was more than happy to leave him an honorable tip for the speedy service. I brought the food back to my office and fug in.
«DAMN!». Not bad at all. I won’t lie, it’s not top-​shelf Thai food, but it’s pretty darn good under the circumstances. After finishing my food, I could easily say that it was well worth taking a chance on a new place. Just to make sure that the deliver time wasn’t a fluke, I ordered it again today for dinner. It’s no joke, this time it arrived in 25 minutes.
If you are looking for fast, good Thai food, definitely check out Wai Wai. You definitely won’t regret it. As for the little deliver man, don’t be afraid to try out a new saucy personality, homie.

I recently moved away from the SMU neighborhood and this is maybe the place I miss the most. Thai food that can be ordered for takeout or delivery for under $ 10? Portions that are enough for leftovers the next day? Bring Wai Wai to North Dallas please!
This isn’t really an eat-​in place to me, I did eat there once or twice with a friend, but it’s sort of a strip-​mall type setting. Cute enough on the inside, but definitely not somewhere to take someone you’re trying to impress, and not a ton of seating.
My favorite orders are the pad kee mow (drunken noodles), basil fried rice, or hot and spicy basil chicken. They will cater to your level of desired spiciness (but they won’t ask you, you just have to tell them). It’s always cooked fresh and is around $ 7 – 8 per entrée. Reasonable considering my nearby takeout thai place charges me $ 12. They were always willing to cook to order as well (I liked to add pineapple to my spicy basil chicken, and there was never a problem or an upcharge).
I always wished they had lunch specials with an egg roll or a soup like the old chinese restaurant that used to be in it’s place, but the entrees are so good you don’t really need the appetizer fillers.
Pass on the thai iced tea, it’s chalky. I’ll make the trip to Fat Straws for that.

I would have given this place four or maybe even five stars, but my husband wasn’t as fond of his dish. I absolutely loved my grilled chicken salad and it was huge! My daughter had the chicken satay appetizer and it came on a substantial mixed greens salad… plenty for a small entrée.
Hubby got the orange chicken, which didn’t seem bad, i think it was just different than he expected.
I can’t wait to go here again.

This is a nice change from chinese takeout. The interior pretty much describes the food — crisp and clean. We ordered the tulip dumplings, Sriracha fried rice (nice kick to it!), and the Spicy Basil and Shrimp. Nothing really bowled me over because there wasn’t a lot of variation in the menu but definitely will be added to my takeout rotation!

This is pretty much a thai fast food joint for college people. If i were still in college, I would probably love WaiWai, but now that i’m post-​college and my taste buds and expectations have changed accordingly, its just a-​ok for me.
I ordered a grilled chicken salad. My friend ordered beef pad thai. I swear, it came out in 90 seconds. The side of bean sprouts that came with the pad thai were old and wilted — what a turn off. She didn’t really touch her pad thai, needless to say.

Let’s call a spade a spade. This is the Thai version of Pei Wei. I’m sure I’m not the first person to make that comparison, but it’s important to know this 4-​star review is based on an understanding that we’re not talking authenticity here. We’re talking quick-​service Thai. And me likey!
It’s a little barren inside… I can’t quite put my finger on what makes it awkward, but the inside isn’t inviting like Pei Wei, so I stick to delivery and takeout. Both have been good experiences.
The bf is new to Thai food and this was a good place to break him in. We got some Thai Jerky with some super spicy nom nom hot sauce, Gyoza, and then shared an order of Chicken Pad Thai.
The food is good, the price is good, the location is good. Wai wai, don’t ever leave me for my quick-​fix broke girl Americanized Thai food. I love you.

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted some Thai food tonight, so I went to WaiWai to pick some stuff up. I called as I left my apartment and placed an order, and was there in ten minutes to pick it up. The employees were super nice, and my food was ready right when I walked in the door.
Speaking of the food… I’ve had better Thai food, but for the price, this was just right. $ 6.95 for our entrees (chicken pad see ew for me, ginger stir-​fried beef for the boy), and it was a hearty serving as well. Definitely a place I’ll be going to again, although if I have some extra money to burn, Royal Thai is where it’s at.

I don’t have any complaints really. It’s a nice Thai place, and it’s probably a step up from the Chinese place that was here. But, it won’t be a favorite. Despite the trendy square plate, the Pad Thai was only mediocre.

At the entrance of SMU campus lies Wai Wai Kitchen, a Thai fast food place with chic décor. Upon entry wifey, son and I all got stuck looking at the pictures on the wall of the popular entries. Son was first to pick Shrimp Pineapple Fried Rice, Wifey picked a bowl of Tom Yum soup and Garlic Pepper Chicken, and I picked the Papaya Salad. While waiting for our food I was noticing the interior decoration of the place. Not bad. Booth and plastic chairs! Our food came out fast and we were pleased.
We started with the Papaya Salad. Emm tasted just alright with the sweet dressing, but spice was invisible in it. Typically, a papaya salad will be on the spicy side. The veges were fresh, however. We forced ourselves to overlook the spice and enjoy the freshness.
Then came the Tom Yum Soup. Wifey was craving for soup so she gave it a try. «Salty» she exclaimed! I tried it too, and indeed it was very salty and I’m not talking about the lime taste that one would expect from Tom Yum. I mixed in some steamed rice, and it stiil was quite salty, so we gave up on it.
Son started chowing down his Pineapple Fried Rice, and he liked it. It was typical Thai fare with a good quantity of shrimp. I tried it just to be able to write about it here and the taste was, well, typical. It even had cashews in it, which made it look oh «classy»?
The Garlic Pepper Chicken was looking very attractive and I was eyeing it while finishing up the salad. Broccoli, carrots, squash and chicken in some black sauce. topped with cilantro. This was the steal of the table and both wifey and I enjoyed it! It was not served steaming hot, but it was still good.
The location of this place couldn’t be better right at the entrance of SMU, and at the corner of 75, for folks coming from the other side. I noticed students were a majority here. A couple at the table next to us and we were the only family. Speedy Thai at a reasonable price, with the authentic taste absent. That’s all I can say about that! Did I mention that absolutely NO dessert is available here?

Wai Wai, my late-night-I-don’t-want-to-get-up-but-got-the-munchies…I love that they will deliver until 10:00, loooove that. This place is awesome. Their menu is HUGE and they offer a lot of vegetarian options. I ordered the spring rolls and green curry tofu. DELISH! Now since I did delivery, and I always do, I have no idea what the actual restaurant looks like or how the service is. I do know that the person I spoke with on the phone (while difficult to understand) is very friendly, gives a lot of suggestions, and has never messed up my order. Delivery is quick too. I am always surprised at how fast the make and deliver my food, such a good surprise :)

This place is definitely fast. I’ve eaten in a handful of times so far, and the spice level can waver greatly. Just try to be specific when ordering.
The interior is cute and modern. The service is quick and friendly. I always see them thank everyone that comes in.
Today I had chicken basil fried rice. The portions are large, and I took about ¹⁄₃ of it for snacking later. The heat in this dish started subtle, but I felt like it grew in depth as I continued to eat. Very tasty.
The price point is great, my meal was 6.95 which I feel is a dollar or two cheaper than other thai places in the area.
I’ll continue to stop in to this place for some good priced thai food. They have a few «sushi» type rolls on their menu as well, but I’d be hesitant to try it. Noodles, rice and the house entrees are dependable choices for me.

Angela G and I came here right before our Halloween celebration and the food was FAST! Not 2 minutes after we ordered, piping hot food was served to our table.

Wai Wai have do I give a 3.4? Cuz this is good their good but don’t quite deserve a 4.
They don’t have a patio or outdoor seating, but you can make your own in this strip mall next to SMU and that’s just what we did. This is a bit bizzare, but it worked perfectly for myself and 2 other girlfriends. All three of us actually knew what we wanted for lunch (for once) on a beautiful day. I was craving Asian food, one girl was craving La Madeleine, and the other wanted a Philly Cheese steak or a burrito from Chuys. Well, Hello– we were all very happy and went 3 separate ways in the strip mall here with WaiWai at Mockingbird and 75. We got our food and sat outside at one of the tables in front of La Madeleine. The last girl I mentioned got Roly Poly by the way. That review will come later — They have several great cheese steak wraps there and she didn’t get the shaft: D
So, this review is for WaiWai, but it was a fun experience for us all, so I thought I’d throw that in there. WaiWai is nothing too exciting inside or out, but it’s clean, and nice enough for a quick meal. The menu is not overwhelming which is kind of nice actually. I ordered the Gyoza potstickers since I’m a always a sucker for those things. It was between that and the Tulip dumplings or Crab Rangoon to start. All of these are 4-​$ 5.00. Then I had the drunken noodles (pad kee-​mao). These are stir fried flat noodles with egg, bell pepper, basil, tomato and onions with your choice of chicken, beef, tofu or vegetables for $ 7.00. I think it was a dollar to add shrimp.
It came out fast and I was very satisfied without spending a lot and had leftovers to boot. The girls were happy as well. This was different than your typical lunch with friends at one establishment, but we literally were walking out the door from each place at the same time and couldn’t believe the perfect timing. We did the «I know you, I know you» routine.
I miss General Joe’s, but I’m glad to have WaiWai. It was a nice change from PeiWei but neither will ever compare to the full restaurant experience of taking your time and enjoying an appetizer before your entrée in my eyes. It’s great for a quick meal to take home, take back to the office, or just eat inside if ya like, but this is no date place.
They close at 10pm everyday. Wai not try it? Yeah, yeah. Cheesy I know, but they asked for it. They also deliver if you’re in their zone.

This is some great Asian food for cheap! I can’t wait to keep going and try the whole menu.
My coworker and I eat out for lunch more than we should which is killing my wallet since we haven’t found a good cheap lunch spot. Problem solved! I’m going to drag her here all the time!
The fried shrimp was so-​so. My friends pad Thai looked pretty good, she gave it a B+.
The pictures of menu items on the wall is awesome because I never know what half of the stuff is when I’m just reading a menu! Their website is pretty cool too.
This place is ideal for lunch. The seats are comfy and it was super clean. They were very good about refilling our drinks from the fountain and brought the food out quick and hot!
I just REALLY wish I remembered I didn’t like orange chicken, but if I did like it, theirs would rock!

Big portions, extremely fast service.
I came with a group of 15 – 20 people for a birthday. We literally took over the restaurant. They were very accommodating — called in an extra cashier to get our orders in faster. Food came out within 5 – 10 minutes of ordering — seriously! The bf and I had the chicken steamed dumplings, I had the Spicy Basil Chicken and Shrimp and BF had the Thai Peanut Chicken. Everything was awesome! My entrée was delish and exactly how it was described! Spicy!!! But I loved every bite of it. Bf’s chicken was good too. Portions are big — so you’ll get your money’s worth. Place is casual and relaxed.
Too bad they didn’t serve dessert bc I’m a sucker for Thai desserts. That’s my only complaint!!!
