Be careful with tips. They will tell you one price at the counter and then charge your credit card for a higher amount, assuming you will not notice. Parking is terrible. If you try to park on the vacant lot next door, someone will tell you to move. A homeless crackhead serves as a doorman to «open sesame» for you. The tables are greasy. Disney channel blaring on flat screen t. v’s – random. The tacos themselves are standard, street-style. Could use side vegetables, i.e. raddish, grilled onions, jalapeño. Overall a hole in the wall with okay tacos. Try to pay cash. There are way cleaner, more honest but just as authentic tacos joints around town.

One of the best places for tacos in the city… Pastor quesadillas should be a part of every order… Nice people… Good parking… One problem though, this is a cash only business and the homeless people know it… Most will not be too aggressive but there is one guy who is batshit crazy and i nearly got into a fist fight with him as a result… To the staffs credit they came out and tried to diffuse the situation but he still hangs around there all the time… For this reason i usually go to the location on Gaston instead… Just something to consider if you are dining alone and want to avoid that kind of bs

Only 4 stars because it is located in a scary area. I seriously called my friend so I could be on the phone with someone when I walked to my car just in case I got mugged/kidnapped. The tacos where amazing and worth it though. I might just next time take advantage of my CHL when I go out there. Also, they charge for extra hot sauce(really?) when you can just take your togo order to a table and pour the verde on your tacos before leaving(for free).

This place has some seriously legit Mexican street tacos. Be prepared to order in Spanish. That’s how legit it is. The joint isn’t the fanciest, but then again, what kind of authentic taco comes from a fancy restaurant anyway? Tacos are cheap and plentiful, and their salsa selection is so on point, it’s hard to believe you’re not walking around somewhere in Mexico City. Go with their suadero, cabeza, pastor tacos — you definitely won’t regret it.

On the Dallas Eater 38 List(as of March 2016) Awesome & cheap tacos to be found here! I came on a Saturday before noon, so this area was fine, but I could see how it might be a bit sketchier to venture here at night. Luckily, there was no line when I went so I ordered right away and got my food within 5 minutes. I tried the Bistec Taco($ 1.50) & Suadero Taco($ 1.50) [ and both were great and flavorful– highly recommended! The meat in the Suadero(I’m pretty sure it was the suadero) was more tender, but I really enjoyed both. You really can’t beat the price, and the authenticity of this place. I will definitely be back in the future to try their other tacos, and to get the bistec and suadero again. There are plenty of tables available inside if you want to dine in. Parking was easy since they have their own lot, and it has a good amount of spots.

Got 4 tacos and they were all excellent. My favorite was the Cabeza. Very moist and flavorful. Their salsa is spiiiiiicy. They bring out two sauce to you when you dine in. Verde sauce is still spicy but at least a little cooling. They take credit card, so that was a plus for me.

Dallas is so stacked on fast, authentic, delicious, and affordable taco spots that you can at times become jaded as to the glory you’re actually experiencing; but Tacos La Banqueta really is one of the best of what is already an all-star squad of taco spots in the city. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Tacos La Banqueta ain’t nothing fancy that’s for sure, but it’s quick and easy. They accept card, and will have your tacos out(irrespective of how many you order really or which kind of meat you choose) in under five minutes. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? These tacos are fantastic, and all of the meats are unique in their own right and flavorful across the board. The red and green sauces(and the limes!) are added bonuses, and while in some cases the meat was a bit fatty I honestly had no complaints here. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Tacos La Banqueta is an excellent option for authentic tacos, and while it doesn’t top out my list of taco spots in the city, it’s worth a visit. No Star Granted.

I rarely give out 5 stars, but this place is up there. It’s out in the ghetto so just be wary of your surroundings. There’s also a bum that lingers around and opens the door for you. Doesn’t harm you, but for the unaware, you’d be weirded out. The employees tried making him leave to avoid complimenting patrons and making it weird. Anyway, the tacos here are absolutely amazing. I ordered 5 carne asada tacos and 5 lengua(tongue) tacos with everything. The lady ringing me up was confused because she asked me, «Oh. Beef tacos?» I’m like«Uhh, yes.» Add their red hot sauce and you’re pretty much eating fire. It’s spicy and it lingers, but it’s so good. The green sauce is spicy too, but has a cooling effect. But that red, a dab of that and you’re in for a great surprise. I’ve also had their cabeza tacos, which were a bit fatty, but it’s delicious.

Finally visited after passing it for years. Great flavored and freshly prepared tacos. Clientele very diverse and you order at counter and they deliver to table. Surprised me by accepting credit cards considering the casual nature. Enjoyed Chorizo, Steak, Chicken and Saudero. All hot off the griddle served in 3 bite, double corn, size. I ate all four and could have gone 5 deep it refrained. Saudero had great crispness, chorizo was spicy, and don’t forget to load up on red sauce. Ill be back

I am always on the lookout for a good little taco joint. And this place is definitely one of them. Nothing fancy at all. Just a little restaurant, but pretty darn good food! Great prices, good food & friendly service. I had my standard corn tortilla w/fajita beef, onions & cilantro and walked away pretty full. No skimpy portions here. Great place to stop when you are in the area.

La suadero = beef shoulder! This place is a little hole in the wall gem open late until 11pm weekdays. In a seedy part of town! Huge drinks for cheap! I’m craving their horchata right now! All their tacos are tasty and fresh! No one people bum rush them with to go orders right before they close! Affordable really good street tacos for the area! I would come back!

Great street tacos. Greasy just the way they are supposed to be, only thing they could improve on is making the pastor a little more flavorful and not as dry!

This place is AWESOME!!! Went here for lunch with the coworkers. I got here around 11:30 so it doesn’t get too busy yet(though most of the tables have been occupied). By the time we got our foods and sit down, the line started forming. Most tacos are $ 1.35 each. They have alot of different variety of meats. I have only tried the bistec(steak), cabeza(beef), lengua(tongue — this one is $ 1.75. There’s a reason why it’s more expensive, because it’s AWESOME!), and tripa(tripe — must try! Doesn’t have any intestine taste like at all. It’s a bit crunchy and full of flavor). The tacos come with corn tortilla but you can substitute it for flour with an additional charge of 25 cents. The corn tortilla is not that ‘corny.’ I usually would substitute for flour(which I did) but I would save my money next time and stick with the free corn tortilla instead. The tacos are fairly small(i mean, they’re a buck thirty-five!). I can consume probably 4 – 5 tacos. Another thumb up is for their sauce! It’s hot and spicy! Turn out, there’s a Tacos La Banqueta near my house as well! Gonna go try it soon and see if the taste is consistent with this location!

Ok so let me start this review: So i grew up close to Mexico City so i know what authentic DF style food its like. The tacos al pastor are okay they are tasty but need more meat. And here’s the bad part of my review: The tortas are mediocre, they are served in a regular size telera(a kind of bread) and where is the beans??? And the onions, tomatoes and jalapenos of my torta cubana ??? Come on la banqueta!!! for this place to say its DF style food i had higher expectations. Overall this place its ok…

There are different types of real Mexican tacos, and for D.F. style(Distrito Federal aka Mexico City), this is a great spot. The tacos are small and made quick. They pack ‘em full of the protein you choose and only get as fancy as cilantro and onions if you want them(and if you don’t you don’t need to worry about real tacos). The hot sauce kicks! The prices are cheap. 4 tacos, $ 6 + tax The cabeza, so soft. The pastor, nice and crisp. The lengua, solid choice. But the bistec, that’s the best. Try it.

Came here based on reviews. I tried a variety of tacos. I’ll start with the chicken taco it was hot and fresh but dry and no flavor. The pastor was really good tender with flavor. The chorizo was good also. I added cheese for a quarter more. They’re 1.50 a piece small but filling. Now the salsa was really good. the green has a nice spicy kick to it creamy also I could eat the green sauce on veggies as well. The red was ok but they have so many to choose from so pick some tacos with green sauce. They chorizo pastor salsa is better than fuel city my opinion

We came here last night for dinner and I really really had high expectations for this place since it had tons of reviews and I love trying new tacos I had 3 bistec and 3 pastor and a suadero quesadilla Bistec was very dry and hard to chew I tried the meat alone and it had no flavor. The pastor was okay much juicier than the bistec a tad bit of spice to it too which I liked. Quesadilla I tried a piece of the meat and made me wish I would have gotten suadero instead of bistec for my tacos but over all the cheese could have been better or maybe it needs more. Now the hot sauces where by far my favorite!!! Both green and red(I love spicy)

What happened? I was stoked about coming here today for some luscious lengua tacos(which cost $ 1.75 each instead of $ 1.50 for each of the other options), and unlike my last visit a few months ago, when the tacos were piled generously with succulent chunks, the lengua today was one very thin slice per taco, less than 1/8″ thick, measuring about 1“x3″, like this: ________________________ | | | | | | | | |_______________________| I had to move the cilantro and onion aside to see if there was any meat there at all. Seriously? Tacos La Banqueta, you’re ridiculous cost cutting measures on your most expensive taco has lost you this regular customer, formerly a big fan, for good. Was it worth it? You decide, and let me know, if you care to.

I have to admit that the tacos here are great! I had the tacos al pastor and the tripe tacos. On food alone, this place can easily score a 5-star rating. However, what turned me off was this sign that they have on the counter that says«We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.» I’m not a proponent of restaurants or any establishments that can find any reason to discriminate customers or clients on any basis. For this reason, I’m hard pressed to find a reason to come back since I know good tacos are plentiful in this Mexilandia that we call Dallas, Texas. Sorry, La Banqueta, but I’ll keep walking by on the sidewalk.

Don’t let the outside of this place detour you. This little East Dallas taqueria is legit. Fresh, cheap & delicious… sign me up! Went with the steak, tripe & tongue tacos. Their are only $ 1.35. Crazy cheap. All were delicious but the tongue was my personal favorite. If you are any where near here & want legit tacos you need to stop by.

Me encanta que en este sitio uno recibe lo que pide. Sin rellenos ni imitaciones. Es lo que es: una taquería con unas carnes para caérsete la baba! I love that in this place you get what you ask for. No fill-ins or imitations. It is what it is: a «taqueria» with mouth-watering and delicious meats!
