So disappointed to find this place has closed! I love a good patio, and I love bottomless mimosas, but add a fantastic menu and we will keep coming back. We never had the horrible service others have complained about, actually quite the opposite. The worst experience we had was with some unsupervised children, whose parents had to be scolded by the staff(followed by applause from nearly everyone on the patio). Loved this place, please come back!

DAMMIT!!! Please come back North Dallas needs you!!! My wife, 2 dogs and I showed up today for the Spork experience and it was shut. Huge let down. This place not only had some nice fresh & innovative food choices but the atmosphere was unique in the area. The dog friendly patio and game area was just a nice welcoming spot to hang /eat in. Even during the hot summer. Also, there was a nice selection of craft beers to choose from. Such promise for this part of town!

So sad this place has shut its doors! We went numerous times for lunch and never had a bad experience. Fried pickles are some of the best around(for comparison I’m not a fan of the super salty ones at Twisted Root), and of course the Kimchi fries are amazing and large enough to share between 2 or 3 people. You can add stuff to the burgers which is awesome such as a «fried egg» which is actually a battered and fried soft boiled egg which was a crazy cool surprise. Really hope they open back up!

So sad this place closed! We have been many times over the last several months(we drove from East Dallas!), and have always been please with the food, service and atmosphere. So sad! Please open up again! Today was our first visit and we are very impressed. The atmosphere is awesome-perfect for adults chilling and/or kids running around. There is a small outside playground with games. The food is delicious and the eggs Benedict are about the best I have had. Our server, Greg, was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back soon!

I’m so sad it closed! Does anyone have any suggestions for fun restaurants that is fun for the kids? This is my new spot! I have a 3 ½ year old son who is very active and the outside area is great for that! Lots of games and activities for kids of all ages. Good is good! Drinks are tasty and the price is right!

From the off it has been a pleasant adventure. Michael was very welcoming and had good food suggestions. Even got me and my kid to try kimchi! Chopped salad was very fresh and good. Perfect amount of ingredients and the dressing was perfect. Fresh Gulf Catch sandwich very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Only thing I found unappealing was the amount of young kids running around. ;-) We will be back for sure!

I actually really liked it here. I will go back. I didn’t love my order, however. The kimchi fries weren’t my speed, I suppose. The pretzel crusted tenders were good and the normal fries were as well. The waitress, Austyn, was very informative, friendly and attentive. We never wanted for anything. I do recommend this place as there are games and whatnot outside for the summer and some good craft beers. I look forward to trying other menu items.

For our drinks we had a Peticolas Velvet Hammer and a Strawberry lemonade. The Velvet Hammer is on tap. On the menu it says Seasonal Lemonades, «Ask your server for today’s flavor!» So I did. Blueberry, Strawberry and Raspberry were my choices. We ordered from the Magnificent Seven portion of the menu. It’s sandwich baskets that are served with fries and a dill pickle. We ordered the Western Beef.$ 9.75. It’s a tasty burger that comes with bacon, BBQ and caramelized onions. My date added fresh jalapeños and he said it was really a delicious fork burger. I had the Roasted Cuban Pork.$ 9.00. It’s slow Roasted Pork and ham. The Cuban was served on a fresh, soft white bun. The bread choice surprised me but it worked for sure. I liked it so much. This is definitely worth a try!

This should be a great family place but it is a disaster. I witnessed a comedy of errors and incredibly poor customer relations the other day with two young families sitting near us. Our food and service was mediocre but the travails of these two families was extraordinarily bad. The waiter got the order wrong, refused to correct it, then got the bill wrong(in the restaurants favor) amazingly these folks brought it to the waiter’s attention. It came back wrong again and then the manager showed up. If there was ever a more poorly trained manager with less tact I have never seen it. He was dismissive to the point of being abusive; that’s when I decided to leave. Just from observing this fiasco I would never come back and will go out of my way to warn people to stay away.

With the reviews here being mixed I really wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Thursday at 5:30 when it was nice out and sat on the patio with our dog. The patio is both dog and kid friendly. When we got there it was pretty empty but it got crowded, mostly with families over the next hour. The menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches but they have some interesting options. The bulgogi fries are a most, but a huge portion for only 2 people, you barely need a meal after them. They are spicy and flavorful, but could use a little more meat. We shared a bacon sandwich that had avocado and a delicious brioche bun. There are also good happy hour selection on beers and a good beer selection. They have a «real» bar which I was not expecting. We had really good service while we were there. Our waiter was attentive and brought water to our dog. The patio is huge and has a ton of games — bags, fooseball, darts, etc and plenty of things to keep the kids busy. It does good loud and a little hectic wit all the kids and dogs though, so its not exactly a relaxing place to dine. I think it would be a great place for a large group happy hour, especially with kids in tow and will likely plan one with our HoA here in the spring.

If it wasn’t for the manager saving our experience, this restaurant would have gotten less stars for their lack of service and rudeness. I was one of the first ones there and went to the hostess to get a table. She was so rude and pretty much told us it was a really long wait to even get a table. I just told her to put my name on the list, and we got our table 30 minutes later. Our waiter started off being really nice, he took our orders and left. I ordered the build your own burger with chicken and no bun and a side salad. He got majority of our orders wrong, so after we brought that up, his mood changed completely. We got the manager involved, and she took care of us the entire night. She was very attentive and just wanted us to have a good time. The grilled chicken was really good. We ordered the kimchee fries, and they were decent. I wished they had put more bulgogi on it and more sauce. I’ll come back to try other items off the menu. They have a big patio with a few games for the kids.

Had a fantastic dinner here tonight(around 730/8pm). Not overly crowded, but definitely great for kids(they have a foosball table, oversized jenga, ping pong and more). The outdoor seating is definitely fun. There are string lights, bench swings, and a good mix of covered and open air seating. Indoors is super cute too, features a full bar with plush bar stools, multiple TVs tuned to sports, and an eclectic style of retro meets modern day. Our Waiter was prompt m, friendly, and stayed on top of our service all night. The menu has a great selection of customizable sandwiches, and if you like spice try the kimchi bulgogi fries!!! They also have a great mix of 5 $ mixed drinks, 7 $ cocktails, 5⁄6 $ craft beers on tap and wine on tap. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be back!

What a cool concept for a restaurant! Take an old sonic and turn it into a hip fantastic place to eat and relax?!? Sign me up! Our waiter explained it to us like this, take a fast food joint and make it better! Everything is handmade fresh! Sooo my boyfriend and I came in on Labor Day afternoon for a drink and snack! I can’t remember the name of the drink I got but it had Rainbow sherbet and was delish! Joseph got some kind of Long Island iced tea. He enjoyed his too! We order the bulgogi Kimchi fries and I hate to say they were AWESOME! Totally worth the calories and breaking the diet! Now I will crave them! We will be back soon to try more of the menu! Oh and HH is 3 – 7 $ 2.00 off most of the drinks!

I had driven by this place nearly everyday for about a month and I hadn’t noticed it. Funny part is when you’re looking for it, it is VERY easy to find. They used the bones from the sonic that was there before to build on. Now they have this quirky out-of-space meets an outdoor ranch ambiance… yeah, I know. But it works pretty nice. The concept here is a fairly small and straight-forward build-your-own burger/sandwich menu with some interesting cocktails, a few local beers on tap and cool cans. Unilocal didn’t help me find this place it wasn’t it until I received an e-mail from Food & Wine America ranking this spot as one of the top new restaurants to get a burger under $ 10 in the country! I thought that was pretty cool. However, the under $ 10 thing is just for the burger and nothing else. I somewhat trust F&W so I went ahead and bookmarked it after Unilocal agreed and was excited to try it. Interesting and contrary to their concept, they are known for their bulgogi kim chi fries… those joints were delicious. One order feeds at least a couple of hungry people a hearty appetizer. I ended up getting the beef burger with louie sauce, cheddar cheese, and the Dr. Pepper spicy Onions… that was damn good as well… I’d put it on my top-10 burger list… towards the bottom. I also exploited the Grapefruit infused Lager from Austria which I found to be quite refreshing. All-in-all a great meal with a great ambiance and decent prices. The service staff was on point as well. I may or may not be high maintenance when it comes to keeping my water/drinks on deck and they were great about that. If you haven’t noticed, I give this place the thumbs up and suggest you try it out. Leave room to try the boozy shakes and let me know how they are.

I could write a long review but here is what you need to know… The place is incredibly noisy, don’t think you are going to visit with the folks you are out with. The burgers are just ok, nothing special… really. Kimchi fries that they push like a dealer selling crack taste good, but they are soggy. While I do not wish this on them, my prediction is that they will become a statistic like the sonic that was in the spot before them.

Note: I would give this place 2 ½ stars but Unilocal doesn’t allow for ½ stars. We came here on a Friday night around 7:30. We were excited to try Spork since it’s one of the newer restaurants in our neighborhood. Upon walking in there was a horrible sewage and manure smell. It was really strange. You could smell sewage so I assume they had plumbing problems that were backed up but I also smelled manure like maybe they had just landscaped. Not an appetizing scent to have while eating! We waited a good ten minutes at the front before a hostess acknowledged us. In her defense it looked like they were short staffed. Rather than seating everyone waiting at the front she was having to run around and clean off table tops, wipe them down and rearrange chairs. Once seated we again waited a bit of time. A waitress came over and said«what do you want to drink.» No hi, hello, just that. We ordered two drinks and the Bulgogi Kimchi Fries. I noticed the silverware was a knife and fork so I’m really confused as to why the restaurant is called Spork. Shouldn’t they have a spork and knife as silverware? Regarding food, the kimchi fries were ok. The fries were incredibly soggy so I suggest eating them with a fork. There wasn’t much Bulgogi on them so they’re basically fries with a spicy mayo, red sauce(ketchup or mix?), and onions. Ok but not something I’d crave or need to go back for. For my drink I ordered the rusty tango. It too was just ok. A bit too heavy in tequila. I really couldn’t taste much else. I also think they used a yellow tequila instead of a clear tequila. Personally I wouldn’t pay $ 8 for this drink again. I’d rather just get a shot of tequila since that’s probably cheaper and would taste the same. The restaurant is very family friendly. I would not recommend going here on a date or hoping for a quiet dinner. The place is incredibly loud. There were kids running around everywhere having a great time. They have a cute outdoor area with a few games to play if it’s nice out. Not really my kind of place but if you have kids and are ok paying $ 8+ per burger(without sides) then this is the place for you!

This place has a really cool vibe, being a converted Sonic Drive In. I wish it wasn’t storming last night so we could have sat outside under the old drive-up area. The inside has a retro vibe that sets the mood for burger eating as well. Parking is a nightmare though. There’s only a few spaces and all others are for the coffee house café next door. We were too scared of being towed, so we parked in front of the Wendy’s and walked over. In a thunderstorm. I was not amused. The café and Spork should just share the lot or at least do a 50⁄50 split of spaces. Our waiter was awesome. He was knowledgeable about the menu and suggested items to start with. We hadn’t even looked down yet, and the kimchi fries he mentioned were ordered by my boyfriend. They were totally worth it. The kimchi mayo and the tamarind ketchup are a perfect balance. The portion was massive and I felt it was way worth the $ 7. It is mostly build your own burgers, with weird sauces, cheeses, and extras to keep the experience unique. Be advised their«fried egg» is a deep fried hard boiled egg. Not an over-easy southern fried egg. I thought the menu explained it well, but the boyfriend seemed confused when it came out. I has a burger on their menu — Citrus Grilled Chicken. It was topped with ham, avocado, and ranch. Too much ranch. I had to eat the chicken sandwich with a fork and knife, and cutting it was unsuccessful. There was a very generous portion of avocado slices though. The burgers(mine was $ 9) don’t come with a side. If we hadn’t had those kimchi fries I would have been disappointed. While messy, my chicken burger was good. But it wasn’t great. It wasn’t a burger I would drive out of the way and stress to find parking for. I don’t think he was crazy about the burger he had either. Enjoyable, but nothing to gush to your friends about. One last thing about the ambiance that is slightly annoying but also slightly humorous. They have little candles on the table, which seem like a weird addition seeing this isn’t a fancy place. I noticed them right away, but didn’t think about it until the basket of fries was moved too closely and caught on fire. Really. I panicked and started blowing at the paper holding the fries. People noticed, but none of the wait staff that was watching me seemed to be too concerned.

I’ve been anticipating the opening of Spork since I read about it last year. This restaurant is the coming together of a handful of people involved in various awesome Dallas eateries(Mexican Sugar, Smoke, Chicken Scratch, and more!). Basically, they’ve revamped an old abandoned Sonic drive-in in North Dallas and turned it into a fun, casual dining experience. The outdoor area is amazing with a huge foosball table and some big pallet swing benches in addition to dining tables. The inside is a decent size. There was a short wait when we went so we chose to eat at the bar. Service: Not bad but not great either. No one was extremely friendly and it took a really long time for our food to come out. Drinks: good selection of beers on tap(I went with a Velvet Hammer). The cocktail list looked interesting so I’ll have to be sure to check that out next time. Food: I tried the bulgogi kimchi fries and the Californian Korean dog. The fries were pretty good! Sauce and kimchi were on point but I wish that 1) there were more bulgogi, and 2) the fries were crispy so that they would hold up better with the sauce on top. The Korean dog was okay. The flavors were decent, the dog had a nice snap, but it really didn’t stand out much to me. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Spork seems like it’ll be a fun, casual place to grab some food and drinks and hang out on a nice day.

I’m going go go 5 stars because the 2 star reviews are unwarranted and the kid left happy(thanks to some amazing pretzel crusted chicken tenders that came with enough fries for the 3 of us to share), and some funky fun custard that tasted more like a brownie than custard(still a little confused on this but it was good. I think?!) Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his burger and I had the fish of the day. The roll was delicious but it fell apart under the sauce. Interesting space theme, looking forward to the patio when the weather warms up.

The first thing I noticed was the bar area. Nice white seats with a wooden table top. As you walk toward the bar, you then notice a cage of rocks. Very different and very cool! The dining area isn’t big, but it ain’t small either. Can’t wait for them to open the outdoor seating area.(I see a hanging bench out there!) Kimchi fries — delicious and spicy, but I don’t taste enough kimchi flavor. However, it’s a big basket of fries! Build your own burger — moist, flavorful, and juicy. I recommend adding the dr. pepper onions if you like your burgers sweet. Cali korean dog — bean sprouts and pickles with a spicy kimchi mayo. I like the combination of the veggies and the sauce gives it a really good kick. Overall, pretty good! I’m excited for this new place and can’t wait to be back for more.
