Nice stay

We took our engagement photos here and were so wowed with their breathtaking interior, customer attentiveness and overall standard of service that we are planning to book our wedding night stay here in May. Emily from Sales took care of us and arranged for us to use the entire property (indoor and outdoor) for our photos. We were very thankful to be able to get some one-​of-​kind backdrops for our save-​the-​dates. We stayed afterward in their lobby bar for champagne and scotch and made a date night out of it all. Pricey, but worth it. High high quality all around. Can’t wait to have a full stay here soon.

I stayed here for a weekend while attending a family event. This is very classy and stately hotel. It is an older hotel that has been exquisitely maintained. The staff was outstanding. They were friendly and willing to help out in any way. I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is fantastic for special occasions. Under normal circumstances I would have chosen a less expensive hotel.

NOT A LUXURY HOTEL
This hotel would be fine if billed as a medium tier hotel, but its marketed and priced as a high end hotel (which its not). Some points:
1) The wifi service is about the speed of a dial-​up line, and this is for the «premium» service that cost extra.
2) There is no HD on the television. Come on this is 2015. And why have the flat panel TVS to send an old SD signal that has to be oddly widened. Really?
3) We tried to order from the «24 hour» menu (advertised in the room) at noon, and were told that many of the items were not available that day. What?
4) The staff seems to treat every request as an opportunity to dodge the request or service rather than attempting to wow or please the guest (as they do at a Four Seasons).
5) As others have noted, the rooms look dated.
The only saving grace of this place is the remarkable location. The shops, restaurants, and bars nearby are all fantastic.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend in the Crescent Suite, celebrating our 17^th wedding anniversary. The experience was underwhelming at best. The room pics online show an elegantly furnished room, but upon arrival, we discovered the room to be sparsely furnished with old, worn furniture. The rugs in the bedroom area were stained with an orange substance. The smell in the living room area was awful and the wood floors had scratches everywhere. The hotel engineers thought it smelled like mildew. They put some deodorizer in the vents, which lasted about 24 hours. The shower and the bathroom sink closest to the shower kept backing up. On our last night, we ordered 2 cocktails and a strawberry shortcake. Only the cocktails were delivered to the room. We had to ask for the shortcake. Once the shortcake arrived, it had chocolate syrup on it that tested a little burnt. The hotel was also doing some construction which woke us up early every morning. I wished they told us about it when we booked the room. Our room overlooked the construction area and another building. It was the worst view. On our last day, we were awakened by clashing and pounding on the windows — the windows were being cleaned. This hotel is definitely showing its age on the outside and the inside, but for the cost, I expected better on the inside. The suites are better at Four Seasons and the Omni. Last year, we stayed at Rosewood The Mansion Turtle Creek and had a wonderful experience, so of course we expected the same experience here. Needless to say, we won’t be back. Next year, we will stay at The Mansion again.

I travel quite a bit and did not want to like the Rosewood Crescent because their weekend rates were quite high… but they quickly converted me. What service! All workers are spot on with customer service. And the fitness center/​locker room staff. Oh my! I almost forgot I was working out. In the fitness center, the attendant makes sure you have towels, cold beverage, headphones, and they even have work out clothes if you forget them! Don’t miss the locker room. Shoe shines, snacks, drinks, hot and cold whirlpool, steam room, and sauna. Everyone gets a robe and shower shoes. Grooming products also top notch. Great job, Crescent staff!

Just spent the weekend here with my husband and we have truly enjoyed our stay. Excellent service from the front desk to the staff at the fitness center. Enjoyed the convenience of all the restaurants just a walking distance away. The spa and fitness facility was impressive and I will definitely come back again.

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. This past Saturday, my friend and I went to the Rosewood Crescent Hotel for our much anticipated afternoon High Tea experience. The service was mediocre at best and the food was absolutely DISGUSTING. Our first course was a plate of four tiny sandwich type items. Imagine stale bread with some creamy ‘stuff’ spread in the middle. The bread was so stale that it was barely chewable and the staleness also added some extra ‘flavoring’ to the creamy spread. Let us say that one can get better bread at Walmart. The second course were some lemon and strawberry scones. Only the lemon scones were edible. By that I mean that I was able to swallow them when washed down with tea. The third course were four small dessert items that were overly sweet and absolutely nothing to rave about. I suggest whoever created these food items and management taste their products before inflicting such products on customers. If the Crescent Hotel would like to rank themselves as an establishment for fine dining, they should make it FINE. This was only a reminder of most fine dining experiences to be had in Dallas (or should I call them NOT FINE dining experiences). Everything this afternoon was a sad attempt at imitating an English High Tea experience. From all my travels, I can honestly say that this is the worst high tea experience I have ever had. The only thing high about this experience was the price of $ 40 per person excluding taxes and gratuity. Do not recommend and will not come back.

I attended a wedding in Dallas and stayed at the Crescent. The staff were nothing short of exceptional. Our room was very spacious with a great view overlooking the pool. While staying at the Crescent, we soon realized that fantastic shopping, great dining and entertainment were within short walking distance. Take some time to visit the Spa/​Gym, it’s a great way to start your day. Lastly, the Crescent has a car available to take you any where within reason i.e. Highland Park shopping areas. Can’t wait to come back for our next stay!

My husband stayed at the Rosewood Crescent for work. The room was comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The common areas were very nice. The employees were incredibly kind and helpful. They went out of their way to provide distilled water for my husband’s medical equipment. We would certainly stay at this hotel again if we visit Dallas.

This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in for work (and maybe play too), and I wish I had spent more than an hour in my room other than sleeping. For starters, the bed was heavenly with fluffy linens and a soft down comforter and cloud-​like pillows. I hate drying my hair with a passion and their hair dryer was awesome. I would buy one if I could find out what it was. I had a very spacious suite with plenty of desk space and a large bathroom, closet and dressing area with more mirrors than I even knew what to do with. The bath products are Natura Bisse… drool. The robe and slippers were a nice touch. The attached Nobu restaurant is wonderful and there is a full-​service Starbucks and small café attached also, in addition to a few other dining options including their private club. This place is posh with the highly attentive staff to match, and a convenient location.

Beautiful hotel in a prime location! Stayed 3 nights for a girls getaway and could not have chosen a better place. The spa is amazing and the staff very friendly and attentive. The pool area is relaxing and we were really pleased with our junior suite. We had let the hotel know it was one of our birthdays and they even surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!!! Nice having Starbucks right nearby and a tons of amazing restaurants within a very short distance. Would definitely recommend! As an added tip. Coming from out of town I drove but wasn’t planning on using my car over the weekend. Instead of paying for the pricey valet they informed me I could self park in the garage. Turned out when I left on Sunday afternoon I only owed $ 5 for the entire weekend! What a steal for downtown Dallas.

I took my mom there for tea for her birthday. GPS had us circling the place 3 times before we ended up in the self parking garage which would have been ok if it hadn’t been raining. Anyway, the hotel lists the address for Beau’s as 400 Crescent. FYI there’s no such address and apparently no «restaurant» named Beau’s in the hotel either. Tea is served at The Conservancy a.k.a the hotel lobby.
The staff was really nice and seemed eager to please. I definitely won’t be back for the tea service or breakfast (eggs, bacon & toast for $ 25)! The first course, finger sandwiches, were ok. The bread was a little dry and the chicken salad was salty. The salmon was tasty but the egg & tuna salad was bland. The second course, scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserves were really delicious! The final course, of mini desserts, was also mediocre: tiramisu (dry), brownie, fruit tart and something that tasted creamy & had nuts in it. Overall 4 stars for service & ambiance but 2 stars for the food & value ($ 32 a person with tax & tip $ 80)!!!

I stayed here recently for a conference, and I must say, this place is pretty nice. The rooms were rather spacious, the staff was quite helpful, and the fitness center was truly awesome. I have to also add in, those dual shower heads, with good water pressure, sure do make you morning start out right. You really had the sense that you were staying somewhere upscale here.
As for the downside, and truly what I would knock off a star for, it is the elevators. These things are honestly the absolute slowest elevators I have ever experienced. If you are there with a multitude of others, just take the stairs, as you will surely get there faster. Honestly, just take the stairs the whole time you are there, it’s better for you anyways. All in all though, I’d definitely stay here again if I were back in the area.

We’re not sure what others are seeing here but this place really needs some updating.
Yes, the staff are friendly and helpful, the lobby lovely, but the non-​public spaces could use some attention. The plumbing fixtures are old and the shower (at least in our room) barely works. There’s an abundance of bad caulking and the carpets in the room and in the halls are worn and stained.
For these prices and the Rosewood name we expect much more.
AND, $ 10 per day per device for internet? What century are these folks in?

This property is beautiful! The hotel is lovely and the staff is great. The fitness center is well equipped and always staffed. Room service was delicious and they just replaced their AC in all rooms (which was a wonderful relief from the humidity).
Stayed on a corporate account so I will say I’d never pay to stay there (just a little out of my means) but certainly NO complaints based on the experience.

Let me just say this place is way above my ‘means’ but a friend I was with hooked us up with her sweet corporate rate and felt like I was walking on non-​presumptuous air!
From check-​in, to help with our bags, to all the service in-​between, I never felt judged or rushed. Everyone was so kind and helpful –for me, this was the best part of my stay. I don’t own a $ 600 bag nor do look like I do but I was still treated with high regard.
The lobby is elegant and comfortably chic with gorgeous floral design, the highest of ceilings, and velvet chairs. The rooms were clean and had the finest amenities (two shower heads!)
Probably my most memorable part of my stay was the pool. A true big-​city/​Vegas-​like feel with nice lounge chairs and a bar enclosed by the city of Dallas skyline. Relaxing, exciting, and fun all at the same time!
For breakfast, I thoroughly enjoyed the spa café. The green juices and egg white omelet were amazing and reasonably priced! A Starbucks was just a hop and a couple skips away from the lobby which was also nice.
Walking out for a night of fun in Uptown was easy –even in heels! Not having to pay for or organize a cab ride was so nice.

BIG BANG BOOM HOLD UP! We had the pent-​house here, over 3000 square feet and 2 stories high of pure, hold up… is this a hotel or a house! YUP like that! This penthouse has an amazing lay out for starters. With a kitchen, dining room area, office space, living room, 2 baths and 2 bedrooms and tons of closet space, this is everyone’s get a way without getting away in dallas.
This service is class A number 1. From vallet who pull straight up and gets your bags and sends them straight to your room! With service that as soon as you call for help, someone is at your door in seconds to minutes with what you need and want.
The only thing I did not like is there in no ATM in the hotel, its across the street. But outside of that you are all good here.
Room service is amazing.
Expect the royal treatment here, Because not only are you getting what you pay for, your are getting more
And the ladies that work the front dest are the most helpful hotel staff I’ve even seen! Whatever you need they will make sure it happens!!!

I really wanted to give this place 4 stars but there were enough aspects of it that dinged my impression that ultimately, it’s getting 3.
First of all, this is a gorgeous hotel on the outside, the rooms are a very good size and the showers rock. Double shower heads, great pressure and hot water. We also saw a wedding going on downstairs on Sunday and it seems events like that are probably right up their alley – it looked like a nice place for it.
Great pickup service from the airport – I do not recall which service they use but they were friendly and fantastic. The spa here is also phenomenal but I gave them their own review (5 stars).
Room service – ordered a couple times; great staff, tasty food, pretty speedy.
Pool – quite small, but we snagged spots early. They had bar service but my friend said when she was here last October (and it was 90 out) there wasn’t any. So maybe hit or miss there.
Here’s where they lost me…
Staff – mixed impressions here. Right off the bat our first morning my friend had been fighting a sad battle with some mild food poisoning and couldn’t stop vomiting. I called the concierge around 8 asking if they had anti-​itch medicine (rubbing it on your wrists battles the nausea) and explained it was for nausea. He said no but I should try the gift shop and it was open. Seriously? What is the *concierge* so busy with at 8 on a Sat AM they can’t get a vomiting guest some meds? I went down to the gift store (it’s across the court) AND IT WAS CLOSED. The security guard there said yes, the hotel was always sending people to the gift store on the weekend but it’s not open then!
Ultimately I had to hoof it to the Shell at the corner of Maple and McKinney. The dude there was VERY helpful – did you know holding a small piece of ginger under your tongue will also kill nausea? Next time.
Housekeeping – we came back to the room at 6pm on Sunday to find it was just being done. Um. Okaaaaay…
Breakfast – not really much of an option here
The room service breakfast is fun if you’re feeling flush, do it. $ 4 for toast, sure, but it comes with butter, 3 different jams, and honey. Whee, why not. HOWEVER, the first morning I went downstairs to The Conservatory, and I laughed and ran. $ 7 for a bagel and cream cheese, $ 16 pancakes, $ 21 omelets. HONEY. You are not New York City or Boston and even those cities would blush at those prices.
Long story short: go outside, make a right on Maple and cut catty-​corner at the end of the block over to the Hotel Zaza. Find Dragonfly and eat your breakfast there. It’s cheaper (but still a tad pricey) and has way more pizzazz. Plus way more pretty to look at.
Overall, we did have a fairly positive experience here. It’s also a great location and you can waltz up McKinney to a number of different bars that are prime people watching. I guess for the price I just expected a little more effort on their part when it came to problems or the need for individualized service. But you could do a lot worse.

The nice cab driver asked where I was going, and I responded, «The Rosewood Crescent.» In turn, he responded, «That’s a really nice hotel! It was featured on that show with Robin Leach.»
(It was then that I had a brief ego-​driven moment of self-​pity as I realized I must now look old enough to get the reference… darn it. But, I digress.)
30 minutes later, the lovely cabbie drove into the hotel’s courtyard and a friendly bellhop greeted me with a smile and offered a helping hand as I exited the vehicle. He asked my name and escorted me to check-​in where he introduced me (by name) to the young lady behind the high counter. She too greeted me with a smile and stroked my ego by saying they’d been waiting for me to arrive. My ego and I liked that.
It took less than six minutes to check-​in (it would have been less had it not been for her unnecessary apology for not being able to upgrade me… for me, it’s just not that serious). The lobby, atrium areas and dining rooms were all lovely with abundant natural light and high-​end appeal.
The standard room was nicely sized and beautifully furnished, with a lovely view of the second floor pool. The bathroom was large, clean, well-​stocked with standard toiletries and featured twin rainfall shower heads with perfect pressure and ample hot water. Two robes hung in the bathroom and I found a pair of terry cloth slippers waiting for me in the closet along. There were notices on the night table regarding green-​cleaning options, which is more the norm than not I suppose, but I still appreciate.
The staff was incredibly friendly. Everyone greeted me with a smile and whenever I found myself deep in introverted thought, someone asked if they could be of service. Even room service was a treat. The food was delicious and the wait was minimal.
My company was hosting a conference and I must say it was a pleasure to work with the event coordinator, Gary and the AV coordinator (whose name escapes me at the moment). All aspects of the event went smoothly from the AV setup to the smallest catering details and I was really impressed with how they handled our group (which I would describe as relatively high maintenance).
A few other items of note — the courtyard is beautiful and boasts about a half dozen high-​end shops and a Capital Grille. The food in general was very good, in fact, I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed my meals without exposing my inner food-​junkie. Dinner at Nobu was top notch, the salads and fixin (g)s for lunch were outrageously fresh and flavorful, and the catered snack of cheese and jerky was plucked right of my dreams. Lastly, the onsite spa (I’ll do a separate review) and onsite Starbucks, were both godsends.
Two small gripes. First, housekeeping in our makeshift workroom (one of the large conference rooms) was not routine enough. In fact, we had to call to have the garbage removed and fresh towels delivered. Secondly, the bathroom sinks in our makeshift workroom were not working — one having no water and one having only cold water. I’m deducting .5 points (which is unfortunate as I have to round down).
I’d describe the property as «debutant elegance» and recommend to anyone looking to splurge on the experience. That said, be mindful that this is a (well kept) older hotel, if you’re looking for a modern vibe… look elsewhere.
