The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas

This review is about the pool experience at the Ritz Carlton Dallas. It is baffling as to why the hotel did an extensive renovation on the lobby and rooms yet nothing seems to have been improved at the pool except some cabana type cover.
The experience at the pool is far from the Ritz reputation for class and service. For starters the pool aesthetics is drab and tired looking. The servers are not as attentive as they should be. The hotel does try to add to the experience by offering some complimentary smoothies or ice pops. However it doesn’t nearly make up for the lack of special feeling one should have at Ritz property. Towels are not picked up timely after guests leave.

Dallas has so many boutique and unqiue hotels, I don’t know why anyone would stay at this overpriced, stuffy place. This is a 1980s piece that looks like it came out of Pretty Woman. Yes, it’s renovated in a lovely style but all the on trend people of Dallas are going to the new places. The Ritz really needs to get its business together and stop trying so hard. Dallas isn’t NYC or Paris. I would suggest that they reinvent themselves as more of a Dallas icon instead of such a chain luxury hotel because I’m not buying what they’re selling.

This hotel is gorgeous! Everything is top notch from start to finish. All the staff and I mean all the staff were so accommodating and perfectly awesome our whole time. For a hotel as posh as the Ritz, there was not a snotty employee in house and I loved that. Service was class A and then some. Loved the car service amenity — Edgar, the driver, is soo nice and fun to drive around town with. The bartender, Jaime, is such a fantastic bartender that I think my days of my old stand by cocktails at the Capital Grille are now going by the wayside. Ohh, and the flowers in the lobby… soo gorgeous! I absolutely loved the way they looked. The only thing that I felt could have been a bit more grand in scale and scope was the pool area. For a hotel like this, I was expecting more. But it was hot and the pool was cool so it was just fine. Drink service there was quick and very friendly. I hope to be back very soon. I love you!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the ritz Dallas this past weekend. From the moment we arrived on Thursday, we were greeted with true southern hospitality. We were shown up to our gorgeous suites which were pristine — shortly after we the bellman Raphael brought our luggage up and wished us a wonderful stay. We then roamed around where we met Darryl by the spa who told us about the city and recommended some good spots to check out, which we did and enjoyed! We also met Amy by the Pool who was the epitome of sweet and really informative about the property and breakfast (fav meal) telling us about the buffet on Saturday morning. We also loved loved loved Phillipe who was downstairs in Indulge and made me a delicious iced Americano. He was so lovely and easy to talk to, really made us feel welcome. We loved stopping by and chatting with him each time we passed that sweet spot.
The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant — the food was excellent and our server Alicia was also really warm and welcoming, her service was pleasant and attentive.
As we met my mom at the bar later that afternoon she was chatting with the wonderful bartender and personality Ilir who we also got the chance to talk to later in our trip as we had coffee at Fearings. Amber was our server and she was fantastic as well — dynamic duo having her and Ilir there. Ilir knew all of his guests at the bar and made a mean mojito for a couple celebrating their 21^st anniversary.
On our way out for the night we ran into Annie the housekeeper who was 5 star all the way. She took note of the things we especially liked and made sure we had extra and were never in need. Her attitude and spirit were joyful and uplifting and she really made us feel special paying attention to detail.
Lastly was Steven who we had the good fortune of having as our server on Saturday morning. Service was so smooth, so pleasant, attentive and accommodating. He was beyond delightful and talking to him was wonderful and special — he made us feel like the only people in the whole restaurant!
Our entire experience was absolutely 5 STAR — this hotel lives upto the Ritz Carlton name. There were so many people we didn’t get to speak to but every face had a smile and we were greeted with nothing but love and hospitality.

I apologize for this delayed review. Back in 2010 I attended a conference held at this hotel and the conference had a deal of rooms at $ 199 a night here. I did not stay as I am a Marriott Rewards «points whore» and stayed at the Renaissance for about the same price to collect the points as at that point Ritz did not award Marriott points. That has since changed as Ritz now awards Marriott points.
Fast forward to August, 2015. I was asked to attend a vendor meeting that was being held here. I arrived on a morning flight and arrived at the hotel at around Noon. I was planning on having them hold my bags while I explored Dallas but to my surprise, not only was my room ready but, due to my Marriott Platinum Première status they had upgraded me to a suite on the 4^th floor. The view out the windows was nothing to write home about but the suite was awesome.
The living room had a massive large screen TV and comfortable couch, good sized work desk and a Nespresso machine. There was also a bathroom off the entry hall.
The bedroom was ample sized with a comfortable King bed. The bathroom was typical Ritz, massive with a soaking tub.
This property appears to be somewhat modern but has an older feel (in a good way). The bar is large with lots of wood and attentive bartenders.
What made this stay even better than it already was, were the doormen. It was over 100 degrees and I asked for direction to FedEx Kinkos that was about a half mile away as I needed to do some printing and shipping. They gave me walking directions and apologized that their house car was tied up otherwise they would drive me. I enjoy the heat so I was fine. They gave me a cold bottle of water and off I went.
I detoured from the route slightly and, as I was waiting to cross the street noticed a Rolls Royce or Bentley (can’t remember which) roll up on the opposite corner. As I started to cross the driver’s window rolled down and someone started waving to me. It was one of the doormen. The house car had returned just after I left and he drove around looking for me. He handed me another bottle of cold water, drove me to Kinkos and then waited for about 15 minutes before driving me back.
While «over the top service» is the standard among the «ladies and gentlemen» at the Ritz, this exceeded my expectations!
The rest of the meetings went well. Meeting rooms were comfortable and the food (as well as the service) was excellent. I cannot wait to return!

Ritz Carlton would not give me my keys at the valet even though I was the one who gave them my key when I checked in. I have called the police and they still would not give me my keys.

Was hired for an event here and treated extremely poorly by the Ritz staff.

Amazing service. Clean, beautiful rooms. Great food! 5 stars! Loved staying here for the holidays too. My sister was working most of the days we were here visiting her and this was a perfect place to crash. Killer spa too!

I’m visiting Dallas for a few days so I chose the Ritz for its ideal location and caliber. After walking into this Hotel’s grand entrance, reception gave me quick Check-​In. I was so tired from my flight so I was happy to discover a very crisp and nicely decorated room.
Even though their Bar and Valet was really busy both were very chipper and helpful. The best part of my stay here was the Spa, which I’ll review separately. Overall, a very nice stay.

I was hosting an event at the Ritz and they have always done a great job for us but this was my first time actually staying on property. I came over to check in at 1:00PM knowing that they had a full house the evening before. I was promised my room by 3:00PM. When I came back over at 6:00PM the room in the club level was still not ready. I had a dinner party to go to at 8:00PM so they offered a different room to shower and get ready and my club level room was ready about 20 minutes later. I showered and changed then checked into my club level room to finish getting ready.
The club level is pretty great — they have a private room that is open 7am to 10pm that has breakfast, drinks, snacks, tea, dessert, etc for free (or included with your club level room cost). This is a huge bonus for just about $ 100 more than their typical room. If you plan to eat breakfast, lunch and or dinner in your room I would recommend. I dined elsewhere for dinner because I already had plans but I came back into the club room for a few drinks to take back to the room.
Some great bonuses at the Ritz — the room had a DVD player and the tv had Netflix. The internet speed was also very fast. There is a mini bar, desk space and the room was recently updated so it looked very nice. The bathrooms here are huge and have separate tubs and free standing showers. Upon returning from dinner, the staff had done a turn down service on the room which was nice. A few chocolates on my pillow and a bottle of water next to my bed. They also sorted everything in the bathroom including my straightening iron cord all wrapped up nicely. They even left a glasses cleaning cloth for my frames which were in the bathroom.
The only downfall I saw were that the shower ceiling was pealing badly and needed to be repaired in both rooms I was in that day, also the quality checks are not the same throughout the hotel. The first room had things that the second one did not, etc. Such as a toothbrush, hair cap, etc. The service quality here is very good, however it is very over priced compared to the Omni Dallas which I find has extremely similar rooms and service quality but half the cost.

What a nightmare. The restaurant was supposed to be «four star.» It was horrible. So much salt on everything. Not edible. The staff in the hotel seemed nice but when we left, the guy who put our bags in the trunk neglected to close the trunk and our trunk popped open on the highway. We nearly lost our luggage! Never again!

My fiancé and I have stayed at The Ritz twice and I can definitely say that the second time was far better than the first. I’ll let this review be based solely on our second time staying here.
The lobby is always clean and stunning. They do such a great job updating their floral display and keeping the lobby vibrant.
We got the Deluxe Guest Room and it was extremely spacious. The furniture was updated and comfortable, the bed was plush with nice linens, and the bathroom was divine. The service on this particular stay was outstanding!
Each time I’ve had room service here, it’s always been great. Most hotels don’t have food you’d say was delicious when brought in to your room, but at The Ritz, the food is wonderful. For breakfast, I had scrambled eggs, sausage, a fried hash brown, and an English muffin with coffee and it was all enjoyable!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and it’s always great to feel away from home even though our home is actually in Dallas. It’s a romantic getaway and highly recommend staying here!

New construction, and ideally located at the intersection of the Arts district/​downtown and uptown Dallas. It is within a walking distance to museums, the opera, and many good restaurant choices. McKinney Avenue is, perhaps, the best pedestrian street in DFW.

Been to MANY bars. This one is the best of all ritz Carltons. WAIT!!! The best of any bars. Period. Maybe one bar in sacramento can compete but it has no name. It’s somewhere downtown. Look up Jaime at the Ritz in Dallas. It’s worth it!

Is the pool still under construction? Lots of cement, no green space = missed opportunity. It’s subpar, especially with stiff competition like the Rosewood mansion and 4 seasons nearby.

Valet lost our keys. Complimentary valet… You get what you pay for. Despicable and unacceptable. I will not be giving this run down chain my patronage anymore.

Dinner was great. I had the surf and turf. The staff was polite and professional. Great dinner

Absolutely excellent property. Service was perfect. With every touch that one might hope for in a luxury hotel. This place is hands-​down one of the nicest hotels I’ve has the good fortune to visit (and there have been more than a few lately). A total must-​visit if doing business in Dallas and budget isn’t an issue.

Hi I wanted to share my spa facial experience today at The Ritz Carlton in Dallas.
The staff is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about skincare on all levels and shades I might add.
Today I had the transformation facial with Kirsten, and let me tell you it was transforming. My skin is noticeably brighter, glowing, and smother. If you want instant gratification this is the place to be.

We stayed at this Ritz Carlton Hotel property on the club level for a week when we were searching for a place to live in Dallas, and it far exceeded our expectations. Our room was fabulous and the staff, food, and drinks on the club level were absolutely spectacular! The location of the hotel is also wonderful, and the restaurant is superb. I can’t say enough about the staff! They made us feel like we were the only ones staying there. Just wonderful!

Excellent stay here. Excellent food, service and attention to detail. We felt pampered and well taken care of every step of the way. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Simply outstanding. My wife and two young girls (2&4) stayed here recently on our weekend getaway to Dallas. The accommodations were outstanding only bested by the service. Everywhere you looked people were smiling and saying hello. We tried to go to a Rangers while we were there but got rained out. Apparently the manager was talking about it as we were walking through the lobby arriving back at the hotel because he sent us free nachos and 2 pots of hot chocolate as a «pick me up» for our children due to the rainout. Attaching his note in picture section. Will without doubt be back as regularly as possible. Thank you !!!

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are a little dated, but clean. The flower display in the lobby was absolutely stunning.
Dined at the restaurant, Fearings, which is located in the hotel for lunch and the crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had.
Enjoyed cocktails and appetizers in the bar off of the lobby another evening, they also have a great outdoor bar with music and a big fireplace.
The nachos are not your typical nachos, there are 10 – 12 chips with everything put on them individually (not what our hungry group expected) The bratwurst was excellent. It was served on a pretzel roll and they were kind enough to cut it into thirds for us.

First of all our Bartender Ilir was wonderful and nice on the eyes! He made great drinks and outside patio was quante, but a great crowd. Workout facility was the best of the best? Super clean and all the cardio equipment and weights you want/​need! Customer service is top notch with a smile on their face. Looking forward to coming back!

This review will be for the main for bar. I had the opportunity to visit the bar area with a group of friends for a night cap.
What a friendly group of bartenders and wait staff. Plenty of places to have a seat either for a conversation or watching a game on the TV.
Have a great visit and would return again.

If you want the best service then this is the place you want to be at. I’ve only been at the hotel once but I been to the residences more than a few times. It is a delight to have the valet service be prompt and friendly.

Tonight «Tome-​Cat» took it up a few notches.
One of the Thoracic Surgeons that I work with hosted our department Christmas party here. He actually lives in the building. This was a celebration of epic proportions.
The entire place is decorated like the MGM Grand. It’s very beautiful in appearance and the staff was very friendly and paid great attention to detail.
I came dressed in my finest of finest garbs and had one hell of a time.
The drinks were flowing and the vibe of this place made me feel like I had won the lottery.
All in all it was a 5 star experience, but I’ll give four stars being that the doorman blew the bathroom up and didn’t bother to spray and i walked in right after him, and the stench almost burned my nose hairs, other that that this is definitely the nicest place in Dallas!

My family and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton, Dallas this year for Thanksgiving.
The staff at this property is exceptional, especially on the Club Level. The Club Supervisor Mr. Robert Rosenberg went out of his way to accommodate my family and friends. If you stay on Club Level, you can expect the same from him and fellow staff, just don’t forget to show your appreciation.
Thanksgiving dinner at Fearing’s was excellent.
The Ritz Carlton, Dallas is without a doubt one of the finest hotels in the city.

I’ve stayed at a few Ritz Carlton properties, like Miami, Sarasota, and Montego Bay. This was by far the BEST.
What an experience! The staff was top notch. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel room was extremely clean and beautiful.
They had a «happy hour» in the lobby in which they served margaritas and guacamole. Water and fruit for you to take on the go was available every day.
There was a Bentley that was available with a driver to take you around (within 3 miles of the hotel). This car was very easy to get and when we had to wait the concierge brought us coffee.
I must say I found Dallas dull, but my experience at the Ritz definitely improved my experience and views of Dallas.
