They have very ghetto people working in this location. Who pays 7.99 for the 3 piece small wing combo? The mash potato gravy smelled like arm pits. And even after everything you forget the biscuit? Couldn’t even get my drink order right. This is a true disappointed. Never again. Don’t waste your money

I usually go to the Popeye’s on Northwest Highway and Jupiter but there is a Popeye’s near my house on Ross Avenue which is absolutely a disgusting place that needs to shut down. Too long of a wait the food is hardly ever fresh and the last time I got po boy and my bread was moldy and stale. I’m still surprised that this place hasn’t been shut down already

Wow that’s wrong with this place! The service is just the worst! If it gets any worse. wait it can’t get any worse incompetent people. There were literally 4 cars parked outside over to the side with complains about there orders not including me. I do not know what is wrong with this location but they have hit rock bottom. It’s so bad the employees don’t even know what a baguette is! They don’t know the difference between red beans and rice and jambalaya…

Just terrible service. Told me there would be a wait on my order(close to closing time so understandable) and the car behind orders the same item and they just tell them we aren’t making that right now… Just laziness. There are any number of times the service has been terrible. Or the place has been closed 15 – 30 min before their posted hours but I don’t want to go into all that detail. That being said I will no longer frequent this location.

Why is it 88 degrees inside the restaurant?(I looked at the thermostat when my wife mentioned she was melting.) Sure, that’s slightly cooler than sitting outside in Texas in August, but not that much. When I have to consider that eating on the curb might have a breeze, there’s a temperature problem. Popeye’s has unique chicken, so there were a number of issues I would tolerate to get some. Some of the locations are not in the best places, the crew is not always attentive, there will be something broken somewhere, but the chicken is always magical. However, two things happened since my last visit that probably ended my trips to Popeye’s — the chicken got smaller and the prices got larger. While most fried chicken has a golden crust, I am pretty sure that this is not solid gold. Also, either I got one piece of mild chicken, or the spiciest thigh ever — because they were at opposite ends of the spice scale. I will miss Popeye’s and like a boyfriend that never learns, I will go crawling back. I just have a lot to forget first. I should not get this passionate about fast food, because the idea that fast food can be disappointing is a bit strange, but so it goes. I’m disappointed. The chicken(heat differentials excluded) was good. Service was tolerable. Turn on the freakin’ A/C!

I decided to have chicken for lunch today and that turned out to be a bad choice. I ordered the 4 pc. dinner from the drive through order station. They asked if I wanted light or dark meat and I said light. I drove to my office and opened my lunch eager to enjoy my chicken and what did I find? 1 breast and 3 tiny wings a biscuit and coleslaw for $ 8.50. Wow! 3 tiny wings? Not a good value at all. I will not come back to this location again.

This is easily the worst Popeye’s I have ever been to. The service was severely lacking. One young lady stood next to the register thumbing thru papers while a line four customers deep stood waiting. No type of acknowledgment or consideration. The lobby was sad and dirty. There was a broken booth in the corner with home made caution tape. The few tables that were open were filtly and the flies… Great goodness the flies. Luckily there are tons of other options in the area were i can grab a quick bit to eat.

I’m not a huge fast food junkie — but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. The staff was friendly and my food actually tasted good– It could have been hotter in terms of temperature but it was a cold dreary day. I was on the way home from the store and thought Id give it a try since I see their commercials all the time. The spicy chicken is tasty and I like their spicy fries. I am tempted to give it another try just to check out the consistency. Thank you for the good experience!

Soooo slow. I had enough time to get impatient, play a game of solitaire and then figure out what my Unilocal password is and write this. I’m the only one here, minus the guy who walked out because he got tired of waiting.

WORST Popeyes I’ve ever been to, they do everything wrong that you could possibly do wrong. I can’t help but wonder if there is a single competent person that works there… I doubt it. For starters I wouldn’t even consider it «fast food» because there’s nothing fast about it. They always tell me to go park, where I sit for 10 minutes. Then they come and bring me an order that’s wrong, and as if that were not enough half the employees are not even apologetic about it… they embrace how terrible they are. The only reason I’ve gone there as many times as I have is because I like Popeyes as far as fast food restaurants go, but seriously this place sucks more than a Dyson

If I didn’t love this place so much I prolly wouldn’t keep going back after multiple order mess ups, I put up with the mistakes because the food is good and the service is friendly, the workers are all helpful they just need to slow down and be efficient

This location is awful. I go on my lunch break from work and literally every time I have to pull ahead and wait for my order to come out, they NEVER give me the sauce I ask for, never ask if I want sauce, not to mention the language barrier causes my order to be wrong 75% of the time. The fries are never even semi warm. One time I was so mad about the service I got that I went inside to speak to the manager – well she only spoke Spanish and just gave me a blank stare.

If it were not for the Tuesday dark meat special(leg and thigh for $ 1.50, used to be 0.99), I would have no reason to come here. The service is god awful, the ‘hood is sketchy(I sometimes get panhandled while in drive through line), and it’s a bit off my beaten path. That Tuesday chicken is heavenly, though(thanks to the high turnover of product), and it is by far the best quality fast food fried chicken experience for me, edging Church’s because of the spicy option, and blowing away KFC, which is just sorry soggy stuff, worse than Walmart and all other grocery options.

The one star is for the chicken only. That is, when they’re not out of what I want. How can they be out of coleslaw at 5:30 in the afternoon? The totally inept, unfriendly, useless, lazy, uncaring, and unresponsive staff here get ZEROSTARS!

I mean, how does a chicken place run out of chicken? It’s like a bank running out of money, yes? We ordered through the drive through, which was an unfortunate situation anyway. The guy didn’t understand what we were trying to say and was a little grotsky with me when I would ask him to repeat what I had ordered. Glad I did, because twice he had it wrong! After we finally got through the ordering, we got to the window and the fella told me they had run out of chicken and it would be at least 10 minutes. Wha huh? We cancelled our order and drove to KFC. No thanks!

Dear Popeye’s Chick on Ross Ave, if all you serve is fried chicken, why are you always out of fried chicken?(2nd time this happened) «We only have legs right now». And if I order a kid’s meal don’t come to the window and ask if you can replace my 3 –year old’s toy with a dang biscuit. She’s 3! She doesn’t want a biscuit– she wants a stupid over priced plastic piece of crap toy!

What can I say. I do like spicy chicken and Popeye’s fits the bill. My only complaint is that the fried batter on the chicken is too thick. I prefer lighter, flakier batter that doesn’t overwhelm the chicken. Great biscuits and Popeye’s is the only place I know where you can get a side of red beans and rice any time of the day. Nothing like good red beans and rice on a cold day. Overall, I recommend Popeye’s for anyone that likes a little more flavor in their chicken, just lay off the batter.

This place rocks on Monday’s and Tuesdays with the cheap eats specials they have. You can’t go wrong with chicken from here. The chicken in my opinion isn’t very spicy like they advertise but then having a passion for extreme heat may make my review a bit biased aside from the fact my East Indian heritage raises my expectations to a higher bar. I’ve tried Brothers chicken down the road. I was extremely disappointed after reading so many positive Unilocal reviews. I realized I should just stick to a company who got it down right many years ago to the point that they expanded on a national scale. If they’re as big as they are today… someone did it right I’d presume. The greasy, always crispy(even good the next day), slightly spicy, and somewhat choice meats of chicken keep me coming back. It has consistently been juicy, moist, and tasty from this location. I always order the jalepenos to squeeze the juice over the chicken. followed by a nice peck at the jalepenos after I dunked the chicken in a little bit of ketchup. My gripe about this location… YOUHAVETOALWAYS check your bag before you drive off to ensure everything you ordered is there. They’ve done it at least 5 times where they re-assure me its in there and I check it only to find out it was an empty container or bag within the bag. Really had me upset and pissed. Some of the workers at this location are borderline slow/unaware so make sure you are on your toes when visiting otherwise you’ll come up short when your at home. Last thing I have to say that was phenomenally great was the Big Easy Chicken Bowl accompanied with sour cream and a packet of Louisiana hot sauce. The combination mixed up altogether gives it a taste unlike any other using only fine ingredients. I was in heaven after trying this. If you are on a diet altogether I wouldn’t recommend this dish let alone the venue itself. However if you are looking for a sinful indulgence then treat yourself to something different and try their Chicken Bowl!
