I give this location only 3 starts because the food is always amazing. The service, however leaves much to be desired. And the way they clean their tables is atrocious! We waited for several minutes before they came to take our drink order and then several more minutes before anyone took our order. Our waiter looked to only have 3 tables. Having worked in restaurants all my life I could tell he was new so we didn’t give him a hard time or say anything. He’s new. It happens. He tried. The BIGGER issue was they have trays of leftovers and dirty plates sitting in the isle full which is totally disgusting. We watched waitstaff after waitstaff walk past these trays. One waiter kept throwing more stuff on there totally being lazy. We saw two managers come by and throw an opened napkin on top of the dirty dishes as to cover it up(which the napkin is only so big so you could still totally see stuff on the sides). I might expect this place at… actually I never expect this at any restaurant out in the open right beside people dining, but if I’m going to spend $ 100+ on a bill for 2 people then I don’t think there should be dirty dishes staring at us while we are eating. Trays eventually were moved but we watched as the managers had to tell the waitstaff to move it. We did see one manager pick up a tray and be proactive but for the majority of your time there(about an hour and a half) there were at least one if not two trays there at all times. GROSS! Maybe I’m more sensitive to these things because I grew up in the restaurant biz, but who wants to look at that while eating? Not me and not my friend who was with me who also has worked in the food industry for many years. I expect more from this establishment. Maybe this is their process and procedure? Then there was a private room being cleaned out. We then watched one of the wait staff undress(she had a tube top on underneath) and change into her regular clothes! As she was leaving the private room she’s buttoning her shirt up. Again not appropriate behavior for this place. The food was Amazing. I had the Grilled Redfish with scallops and squash risotto. I will be back because of that but not to this location. Back to the waiter… he semi-tried or maybe just nervous. Hopefully he will get better with practice. He was very nice. Just green. If that was the only thug wrong it would have gotten 4 stars. I just can’t give more than 3 for this because of those dirty trays and waitress changing in the private room with glass doors… I just can’t.

This was my Birthday dinner. The restaurant sat us pretty quick I ordered the lobster tale. The food was delicious. The only thing I would change is maybe they can revamp there menu a little bit. P. S. If you order the swamp thing it is really really sweet. I recommend the top shelf Margarita.

We discovered Papadeaux in Austin and loved it. Now that we’re in Dallas, it’s nice that they’re operating here as well. The oyster with spinach and cream sauce ala Oyster Rockefeller Is always good. The Chilean sea bass was cooked perfect, like butter. One of the best I’ve had. It was served with a few baked tomato that was just delish. Will surely be back.

Decent food and element attempts to be a classy cuisine but they could do better on the prices. They could draw more people in if they had reasonable pricing.

After a long day of travel, I enjoyed a very good meal at this busy restaurant. My server, Tyler, help me select my meal. Great choice. Mixed Seafood kabobs on a bed of dirty rice. I could only eat half. The restaurant is very large with a beautiful water fountain patio area out front. I sat in the bar. Either area is noisy. I was surprised. The bar area has lots of TV screens for the sports watchers that are having a solo dinner. My dinner. Very good. Service. Very good, Professional with friendly warmth. Wait time for a table. None. It’s was 630pm and I sat in the bar. Wed nite Interior décor. I love traditional dark walnut wood bars. Nice décor The lighting is mood setting but allows you. To read the Menu. I would return.

My boss treated us here for a small pre Christmas party. We dined in the extremely hot wine cellar. When we asked to make the room cooler they were unable to accommodate due to corporate regulations is what we were told. It started out bad when we ordered two of the chilled appetizer sampler platters and they ran out of lobster. My filet mignon and lobster tail was overcooked. Tough dry and rubbery. My sister and her husband ordered the same thing and had the same experience different time and location. This is the only reason I am sharing this.

What a large and lively restaurant. I’m visiting from out of town and was quite pleased with the food and service here. I had the lobster bisque and my friend had the shrimp etoufe and they were both very flavorful and good. Very comfortfoodish. The cocktails weren’t great but the food made up for that.

There is nothing to be said that has not already been said about this fabulous restaurant. Go there and enjoy great service and delicious food. I have eaten at Pappadeaux’s for years and at various locations. It’s always good. Always.

Gosh, I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. We came at lunch on a Wednesday and(surprisingly), were seated right away in a booth. We had great service from our server(Eddy?), and the manager went out of her way to bring my high-maintenance lunch companion«olive oil» on a plate with cracked pepper and fresh herbs for the sourdough bread! She didn’t have to, but she went above & beyond and did it all with a smile and great attitude! As to the food, I ordered the lunch special Rice & Beans with Andouille sausage and grilled shrimp. It was excellent!!! I’m getting hungry just reminiscing about this place!

This is not a ‘casual’ dining restaurant, as in the kind of place you’ll stop by for a quick lunch by yourself. It’s more like the type of place you would go to eat Sunday dinner with family or for a date or special occasion. When I went the restaurant was packed. There were no empty tables so I was offered a seat at the bar. There were two groups of people already seated at the bar waiting on tables to become available. There was also a couple eating a really good looking(although fairly expensive) lobster dish at the bar. I ordered fried catfish and red beans and rice. The dinner came with bread and whipped butter and a side of scampi butter. The meal was filling. It was also very well prepared and very tasty. I didn’t really like how dark it was on the inside of the restaurant. I went there around 2 p.m. And the restaurant was dim on the inside. I’m use to well lit restaurants. While seated at the bar I had a conversation with the nicest bartender ever– Wolfe. I was offered a sample desert by the manager Clemmins? But it never arrived. Tired of waiting I eventually left. Would I go back? Probably. But I certainly won’t go alone. Everyone seemed to be part of a group and being alone made me feel out of place. I also caught stares. If I do happen to stop by again(alone just picking up lunch) I’ll get my meal to go. Overall the food was great but it’s hectic in there.

We picked my lovely Mother up from the airport and asked her what she wanted for dinner. When she said seafood, I thought, okay, let’s take her to Pappadeaux. I wanted to go to the one off the Tollway, but attempting to find the address in the Unilocal app while driving was not a good combo. How I ended up at this location… I dunno. I have no clue what part of town we were on. Anyway, we arrived late on a Saturday evening. There was no wait, so that was good. The restaurant was really loud with some boisterous customers nearby. None of us were pleased with the small groups of servers huddled together near our table having loud conversations. Rude. We waited and waited. No one ever came by to take an order, bring water, nada. I asked for a manager. And she ended up taking care of us the entire night. I was not impressed with my mahi or the crab cakes. I will not return. The food was mediocre. I will say, the manager Clemmie(???) went out of her way to make up for the less than stellar experience. I really did appreciate her professionalism and service. Thank you!!!

Excellent service. Bartendah paid attention to my requests and didn’t forget. It’s hard to find great service nowadays and Pappa offered it. Will be back. Great mule drinks. Great food. Great service. 5 stars.

Yep yep it’s a good olé standby chain. I dig the location as the bar is always bustling with interesting folk. Grab a cocktail(hello swamp thing or peach bellini) and an appetizer and schmooze with the bartenders. Their bread is delicious too, worth splurging on! If you’re a distance runner like myself you can appreciate a good carb every now and again. I stay away from fried food and there’s a lot of that here but they have other lighter options if you are watching it. The trout is fantastic and sometimes I will get some gumbo with spicy andouille sausage. But most of all come for the atmosphere and there’s a nice patio that is pretty shaded with cozy seating.

The atmosphere is nice but the food is lacking and uninspired. The price is far too high for the quality of the dishes they serve. I ordered the mussels with andouille sausage. It tasted really thrown together and the flavors didn’t mesh at all. Ugly presentation too. I appreciate the idea of a little surf and turf, but this just was not palatable. It was even… Unappetizing. It was really just chunks of sausage thrown in with whole mussels. My date ordered the tilapia with the crab cake, and the chef forgot the crab cake…(Or they ran out.) When he asked the waitress about it, she got her manager who went back to the kitchen to correct it. When she returned the kitchen just put a lump of crab on his plate… insulting! That small cluster of crab meat was like being served a «fuck you.» The things they did do right are the cocktails and desserts. Beware of the hurricane… it looks and tastes like a girly drink but it will knock you on your ass. ;) Huge dessert portions too. I had a kings cake cheese cake and it was great. I’d come for cock tails and desserts and maybe the food will be better next time? We did come on Mardi Gras which is probably the busiest night of the year.

Food(4⁄5) Boyfriend and I came in on a Friday for lunch around 1pm, and there was no wait. However, be forewarned that wait times for dinner may be extremely long due to Pappadeaux’s popularity. We normally don’t order appetizers or dessert because the entrée sizes are plenty enough but everything looks delicious so I’d probably try them if I came with a larger party and we could share them.(I’ve got my eyes on you, fondeux) My boyfriend ordered a large platter of the fried shrimp and Cajun chicken tenderloins(~$ 23), and I opted for the lunch portion of the Pasta Mardi Gras(~$ 15). My boyfriend said his dish was good but he wished there was a larger meat-to-fries ratio and I agree as an overwhelming portion of his plate was covered with French fries. The Pasta Mardi Gras has always been my go-to option. Love the creamy sauce, shrimp, crawfish, and sausage tossed with the pasta, and I loved even more that the lunch portion was still large enough for me to box up leftovers, all for $ 9 less than the dinner price($ 24)! Drinks here are pretty delicious, and I’ve always enjoyed the strawberry frozen margarita. However, since I had to work right after lunch, I thought better to skip any afternoon alcohol indulgences. :) Service(3⁄5) Nothing super special here since I think the quality of service varies. For this particular visit, our waiter seemed to be forgetful. He mentioned about 3 – 4 times he would get us the complimentary bread to get started but it came out about 10 – 15 minutes after we were seated and maybe 1 – 2 minutes before we got our entrees. Forgetful or busy? I thought the former since the dining room wasn’t near as busy as it usually is for dinner. Atmosphere(4⁄5) I only give atmosphere a 4 if you come in thinking you’re enjoying a casual meal.(This could easily become a 2 or 3 if you were thinking this to be the perfect place for an intimate date night) This place is LOUD and extremely busy. There’s like an army of waiters constantly moving about on the main dining floor to serve their tables, so it makes for a pretty chaotic scene. Décor is reminiscent of a ship with dark wood tones throughout the restaurant. If you come in with the mindset of having a casual meal here, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Bottom Line I really like this place for a casual lunch or dinner. It’s a bit pricy but I don’t mind as I’m usually able to box up my leftovers for a second meal. Service is a coin flip, but if you want to be seated quickly, try coming in during lunch(much cheaper and reasonable prices for select dinner items!!) or during the off-peak hours for dinner.

Friday night at 7pm is super super busy. Waited an hour for a table of five. Service was great, however, food service is a little slow. Waited one hour for our entrees which by then we were full from the drinks, bread and crackers we ate. Food is execellent as usual but I didn’t like the parm risotto. I’d recommend this place to others and I would come back.

I give this place 5 stars because the food is excellent, the service is very good, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. If you go here I would suggest trying the Pappas Greek Salad for a light, flavorful dish or maybe even the Mixed Seafood Grill. Don’t order both unless you are sharing because the portions are huge! If you are a first timer and you want something safe you can opt for the Cedar Plank Salmon. It is very clean and does not taste fishy at all. Finally for their dessert. They have some of the best consistent desserts than any other restaurant that I’ve ever been to. My favorite is the Pecan Praline Pie. It’s basically if pecan pie and cheese cake had a baby, that would be the product. It’s definitely worth a try. If it’s your birthday you can get it for free!
