I was introduced to this place by my neighbor that owns this restaurant. Finally got the opportunity to try the food. My friend was downtown and I asked him to pick up 2 rice bowls for us. Overall, very happy with the quality of the food and the pricing. I wish the best for the restaurant and the owner. He is committed to providing quality, affordable food. I like the mix of Asian and American cuisine, while keeping it original and affordable. I look forward to trying more of his dishes soon.

So they have this mean woman working there in the front that should not be!(caucasian with wavy hair, if you’re wondering). She’s only nice to guys. She stands in front of customers and gossips about them. I can’t even! Everyone else is friendly and nice, but that bitch has got to go! Food quality is good, but I am forever traumatized by her.

A tall shiny business building in downtown Dallas has a food court down below. I had hoped that Kuai dumpling would be more authentic Asian than fast food, but it wasn’t. The talky homespun country manager behind the counter and the yogurt machine were the unique saving graces at this Panda Express esque experience where dumplings, soups and rice bowls are priced economically. They taste it too. The dumplings didn’t look exciting, nor did they look like they had been handcrafted by an Asian person, but they tasted ok. My Thai rice bowl for $ 6.50, was declared by the cashier as having the most taste, but the chicken was completely unseasoned in a way that most kids would enjoy. The coconut peanut sauce was sweet and tasted commercial. I got a free drink and a yogurt for being a first time visitor. The yogurt was tart and yummy. The toppings bar consisted of candy corns, chocolate chips, shredded coconut and fruity peebles which was another nod to the elementary school aesthetic. It was so good, for maybe being processed, I had two servings from the random sauce cup used for the small size. For an exotic eatery at a roller rink this place hits the mark, I was sated, treated very nicely and spent less than $ 10. A more sophisticated meal can be had at Zaguan next door, and a more local one at the Sonny Bryan’s across the way. If you’re in the area and need something fast it isn’t a horrible option.

This place was fun. The service was good. The price was fair. I like the dumplings. The rice bowl is okay.

The people that work here are super friendly. The dumplings are pretty good. This was a fall-back place for me but writing them off. Most dishes are watery as they take the same steamed chicken/veggies then pour water based«sauce» over at the last minute. They used to be a good value for the«5oz» chicken side if you wanted to add some protein to your lunch but now they are charging you for the dipping sauces if you only get a side. It’s dipping sauce folks. Marginal food has now gone petty! What’s next? Start charging for chopsticks?

The staff here are incredibly nice. The food itself here at Kuai is around a ~3 depending on what your expectations are. It’s Westernized asian food that comes on top of noodles or rice that’s perfect for all the individuals looking for something quick. This is definitely not the place for authentic Asian food — you’re in the wrong part of Dallas for that. I’ve tried their Thai chicken and the Hong Kong fish. The Thai chicken was well reasoned and pretty standard. The Hong Kong fish was. eh. It was fish that wasn’t seasoned too much and was rather bland — this is definitely the healthier option for those individuals watching their food intake. The process after ordering your food can get a little hectic because sometimes you get your food while you’re trying to get all your sauces and drinks together. This is something I do struggle with because on both occasions, I turned around and there someone was with my bag of food. Thank you… but no thank you. The food here does come out very quickly so be prepared for that potential«surprise». If you’re a first timer to Kuai, just tell the folks at the register and they’ll hook you up with a cup for some of their really tasty teas and a little cup for their yogurt machine. I love their teas — they’re really tasty and sometimes I wish Kuai was closer to work so that I could pop by for tea only.

I LOVE this place! They have awesome customer service, and the food is excellent. My go-to is the ahi tuna tower. The small is big enough for my lunch. Their bowls are also really yummy and when paired with a soup you get a free iced tea! They also give all of their customers a free sample cup to try their frozen yogurt of the week. It’s a hidden gem!

For lunch in downtown, this place is a good, solid choice. Don’t let the line out the door fool you. They move quick, and the soups, dumplings and bowls are all excellent — fresh, flavorful and fast. I find the Coconut Soup to be a little too weak of a version of tom kha gai, so I order the Coco-Matawny for a little kick. A small soup and 4-pack of dumplings is a satisfying lunch, without making me feel stuffed. They also have a great selection of self-serve flavored ice tea. I like the peach one, but raspberry is good too. Oh, and they give you a free tiny cup for their yogurt machine, if you’re into that. You can upgrade to a larger cup, but I never have room.

It was fine, I got one of their bowls(orange chicken). If it is your first time here, you get an iced tea for free. Normally I would not mention this, but they actually have a variety of tea flavors that they mix in-house(I think). I got the ginger honey, which turned out to be too gingery for my taste, but I enjoyed the mango peach more. The bowl itself has so much potential, but it lost me on the flavor. My orange chicken was really bland and watery, and did not taste citrusy. It was just some generic brown sauce with chicken. I loaded on the sriracha and other condiments they had to make it palatable. I may try their dumplings or tuna tower next time, but I will not be getting another bowl.

I went there for lunch. It was okay, but not great. As a vegetarian, I appreciated they are able to prepare the dishes with tofu and they offer veggie dumplings. It was a little on the pricy side for what i received. I won’t say I’ll never visit there again, but I’m not in a rush to get back.

I haven’t tried any of their bowls, but I really enjoy the soups and dumplings. The hot amd sour is my favorite and the pork dumpings are yummy. The prices are extremely reasonable ans tax is already included, which is nice. This is definitely a great little lunch spot while taking a break from work.

I do not favor this place at all. Their bowls are the worst. I had high expectations I suppose. Also the spring rolls are made with chicken not pork. Which is absolutely disgusting. I am vietnamese and I can say that this is one of the most terrible and asian places. Rant over. Update: I’m writing this review as I am attempting to eat this beijing chicken bowl. I also noted that some parts of the chicken is raw. smh

Really wanted an Asian lunch spot and took forever to find the tunnel. However, I was disappointed on both occasions.(Gave them a second chance.) This is your typical Americanized Asian food. Everything was missing something. I got the Ahi Tuna the first time. For the price, the portions are extremely small. To give it credit, the fish was fresh enough to not have any weird taste. Honestly, not that bad but far from Japanese restaurant standards. Too salty also. I got the coconut soup the second time. Totally disappointed. The soup was overly salty. Probably has tons of MSG.(I got extremely thirsty after drinking the soup and usually that’s a sign.) There’s no vegetables in it. Everything was just wrong. Didn’t try the dumplings, but I read from the other reviewer that it tastes like supermarket frozen dumplings so I skipped. For all the rave reviews this place has on Unilocal,it’s actually a huge disappointment. When are we ever going to get decent Asian food downtown?! It is, however, super fast.

I love the food here and the super quick service is the icing on the cake. Oh wait, the frozen yogurt they give you with your food is but the service is really fast. I typically get the tuna tower which and a seaweed salad. Today I decided to swap the seaweed salad for a side of tofu. The tuna tower is delicious! They make the tuna tower slightly different here and I have no complaints at all. You chose between a small or regular. The small is what I consider a bit more than a normal portion so it is plenty enough and for $ 7 that’s fantastic. They give you the tuna tower not in the shape of a tower but with all ingredients in a bowl like container. They give you avocado, tuna, roe, choice of rice, crab and a few other items I can’t remember. This way they serve it is what I believe makes for the large portion. The seaweed salad is good but I don’t recommend the tofu. There wasn’t too much flavor so I had to add lots of seasoning. They have so many tea options. If you are obsessed with tea as I am then you will absolutely love this place. I think there’s 7 different tea options; sweet, unsweetened and even decaf. Let’s not forget one of the best parts! The frozen yogurt they give you with your order. Granted its a small cup but it is complimentary and tasty! The froyo they had today was tart and raspberry. You must try this place if you haven’t and I’m sure you’re a regular if you have. Don’t let the long line outside scare you away, you get your food VERY quickly.

Lunch special is bomb. Get an entrée and soup for about $ 10. And free ice cream! The coconut soup was AWESOME. I wish they’d say it’s tom kha gha which is pretty much what it is, but it was awesome. Had chicken in it. Tuna tower was great with tuna, avocado, crab, and brown rice(you can choose, I was just trying to be healthy). I’ll definitely be coming here more often!

First time? Free iced tea. But that was only the beginning. First time? Why don’t you sample some of our rice bowls. Oh, and here’s a cup for some frozen yogurt too, on the house! Best service for sure! We got to taste 3 of the rice bowls — Tokyo, Masala, and Thai. Each one is very different from the other, so it’s hard to say which one I liked best. The idea behind it is so you can eat there everyday and never be bored. We wanted something healthy for lunch, and this was a great choice. You can get your rice bowl with white or brown rice, and you can substitute tofu for chicken in any dish as well.(Note for vegetarians: the Thai Bowl is based with fish sauce). They do small and regular sizes, and the small is pretty sizable for a lunch portion. We also tried the vegetarian dumplings, which were great! I would come back for these before coming back for the rice bowls. They have 4 different sauces for the dumplings you can try as well. My friend got a «small» hot and sour soup — very different from your traditional hot & sour soup. It has ground pork and baby corn in it, which I’ve never seen before. I wasn’t a fan, perhaps because it wasn’t what I expected. Overall, great service and great prices. Good healthy lunch option for those working in Downtown.
