I was introduced to this place by my neighbor that owns this restaurant. Finally got the opportunity to try the food. My friend was downtown and I asked him to pick up 2 rice bowls for us. Overall, very happy with the quality of the food and the pricing. I wish the best for the restaurant and the owner. He is committed to providing quality, affordable food. I like the mix of Asian and American cuisine, while keeping it original and affordable. I look forward to trying more of his dishes soon.

So I was in the area and really wanted dumplings and found this place. I didn’t quite realize that this was in the basement of a building in the middle of a corporate food court. I’m not sure I would have spent so much energy seeking out this place had I known that. But, now you do so you can make the call. Given that is is a random dumpling place in the basement of a building in the middle of a corporate food court, the dumplings were actually quite good. Very cheap, plentiful, and very good. However, I won’t be back.

Kuai offers a relatively healthier and tastier option for a reasonable price. My go to dish is large Thai chicken half rice/add veg. I have been generally happy with the quality of food(although there were days when the rice was over cooked mush) until last week, when I had to pull a six inch brown hair out of my lunch. Needless to say, I lost my appetite. I would have given 4 stars, but based on the reviews I read, food safety and hygiene are consistent issues with the restaurant.

For the price, the food is amazing. The food is pretty amazing any way you cut it really. Their dumpling game is strong, I don’t go anywhere else for dumplings when I’m downtown for lunch.

I was disappointed. Unilocal reviews and pictures had me expecting more. Medicore… I had beef bowl with rice. Renaissance Plaza was pleasant to sit in with sun coming thru skylights.

Just ate here for the first time, found a 4 inch long brunette hair in my food. If you’re gonna have those ladies back there with all that long hair, wear fucking hairnets.

I was brought here for lunch last week during the work day by a friend, and am so happy I was introduced to this place. Their portions are awesome sizes for the cost, and they taste amazing. I had the chicken dumplings($ 6), a side of chicken($ 3), and a side of edamame($ 2.50 I think?) and literally was full for lunch and full after eating the remaining chicken for dinner. Such nice staff, they were very friendly and enthusiastic, got the food out quickly but it was definitely fresh. The gentleman working hooked my friend up with a discount since he had brought new people in, and gave us all free frozen yogurt and drinks. — yes, because what is better than dumplings with your choice or vanilla or cake flavored frozen yogurt AND a toppings bar. #heaven. They had 5 – 7 different flavors of tea as well, I loved the unsweetened mango tea. I’m looking forward to going back to try something new, although I loved my meal. Even better — they offer frozen meals of their dumplings and soups that you can take home to cool. Definitely will be going back soon — only downside is there not being one in Richardson I can go to on the weekends!

The dumplings were ok. I ordered the Veggie & Chicken Dumplings. They were ok, nothing particularly special about them. The wasabi teriyaki dipping sauce was pretty medicore as well. Overall, not bad for being in a food court and cheap prices. However, I probably won’t be back.

Delicious! Stopped here right before the lunch rush. Staff was helpful in explaining the menu and offered us free drinks and yogurt for being first timers! Husband got the ahi tuna tower bowl which was really refreshing and light. I got the Thai chicken which had a great kick. The flavors were spot on; I was pleasantly surprised with how good and quick it was-perfect for a midweek lunch break. I will definitely be back to try the other bowls. We both got white rice and small bowls and were comfortably full after(no food coma back at the office!) P. S. The two flavored yogurt machine also has a small topping bar! Cool!

Decent place. Located underground so can be a trick to find. Very«Mall Food» style but tasty and decently priced.

I drove in circles trying to find this place. I’m fairly new to the area, so I didn’t know which building the Renaissance Tower was. *shrug* I walk in and as I’m standing there looking silly, I decided to ask security where this place was. So as you walk in, you have to go downstairs to the food court area. I ordered a small shrimp teriyaki bowl with rice noodles and 4 piece veggie dumpling with spicy ginger soy sauce. The veggie dumplings were barely filled and was just okay… nothing special at all IMO. In an effort to save dollars they slice the shrimp in half, yes in half, lengthwise. SMH. It’s all about the dollar right? The shrimp was the most flavorful thing in the disk, everything else was bland. The only seasoning had to have been the sauce which is tragic! I was offered a drink as a first time customer and the styrofoam cup had a piece of hair and other trash inside of it, so I politely said I wasn’t thirsty. I do like the fact that it is a healthy option of food in their food court, but I’m going to pass on future visit. I was hoping all the time I spent looking for the place would have been worth it, but it was far from it. The best part of my trip was talking to the Chris, the head of security for the building.

Decent rice bowl at a fair price. I work in the area and regularly stop in for a small soup and small rice bowl.

I thought I wrote a review about Kuai! Kuai is a unique and much needed addition to the Renaissance Tower food court. The place to go when you don’t want a chicken sandwich, bbq, or the other options. My favorite meal was large shrimp spring roll soup with veggie dumplings with spicy ginger soy sauce. The soup only comes in a large size and filled with shrimp, chicken, and noodles. Dumplings come in either a 4 or 8 pack. My last meal there is now #1, the tuna tower! Brown rice, crab salad, and topped with ahi tuna(sushi). The flavors are fantastic and I really did not need the sauce that is provided. And you get just enough wasabi to give you the right«kick». If you’re thirsty, try their teas. They change the flavors sometimes and so there is plenty of variety. First time guests get a free tea. The staff is friendly and helpful. They know how to keep things moving during the lunch rush too.

Working downtown and being confined to eating in downtown has been a little daunting for me because I haven’t experienced a solid place that where I can watch what I eat. I passed by this place initially thinking«ghetto panda express» but decided to give it a try one day. My first experience was a great, I think it was the owner who I talked with right off the bat offered me a sample and free tea with my order. I thought nothing of it until I looked at the tea selection… they have an amazing tea selection. My favorites were honey ginger and lemon mint… can say I haven’t seen many, if any, places that carry those flavors. I looked at the menu for a second and was a little weary but then the owner said I could get the chicken steamed with brown rice… legendary. My decision was sealed, this will be one of my go to places. When I got the order, I figured it was going to have the standard amount of protein to carb portion but when I opened the goody box, there was a solid amount of chicken in my order. Super kudos! The price point is also pretty competitive!

Inside the food court at the bottom of the Renaissance Tower, next to taco bell. Price reasonable, food fresh and flavors almost perfect. Ordered the Thai Chicken & Veggie Bowl with Brown Rice for $ 6.00. Spicy and nutty; creaminess to it. Brianna was a cutie and very knowledgable of the palette, knew how to nail your idea to your plate. And first time customers get to have a big cup of complimentary tea(they have many flavors), draws the flavor out of the food. Give it a try!

Kudos to Kuai for offering a healthy lunch alternative to the fried food joints in the Renaissance Tower food court. Kuai is tucked between Taco Bell and some random pizza place and it is worth a visit. My favorite lunch item is the Marco Polo bowl that is steamed chicken, broccoli, and onions on brown rice. It is a really good meal and does not leave you feeling groggy like other Asian restaurants in the building that fry just about everything on the menu.

Honestly? I’m a bit disappointed here. I absolutely LOVE dumplings, and a steady steam of business trips to and from China the past year have turned me into a bit of a snob. However, the euphoria I experienced upon discovering that there were in fact dumplings available in DFW subsided during a lunch trip the other day. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? It’s hard to cultivate a customer-friendly atmosphere when you’re stuck in the middle of a corporate food court, but I certainly can’t fault Kuai for their location(they must make an absolute killing in here). As far as service goes, it’s quick and friendly enough, so really no gripes. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Eight dumplings for $ 6. I get it, such a rarity comes at a premium. While I’d love to see that price come down just a tick, my sixteen dumplings were more than enough food, so I wasn’t at all disappointed by the fact that I’d spent $ 12. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? And with that? It all sort of fell apart. Literally. Here’s what makes up a good dumpling. First and foremost, you need a fluffy-esk outer casing that traps in the moisture to sort of double cook the filling. Unfortunately, my Kuai dumpling casing was a tad bit undercooked, which lead to it cracking and falling apart the second I touched it. No bueno. Secondly, the beauty of a dumpling really comes out when the outer casing is almost cooked right into the filling to the point where it’s nearly indistinguishable. At kuai? There was a casing that had fallen apart to reveal a ball of pork. Ew. Finally, flavor it absolutely key. At kuai? It tasted like salt, and the dipping sauces didn’t help. All in all? These weren’t good dumplings. No Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I know I know, you’re so excited at the prospect of dumplings in DFW that you simply can’t not stop by. Very well, but don’t say I didn’t tell you so. No Star Granted.

Tasty cheap lunch. Got a small wonton soup with pork/shrimp dumplings & bok choy with 4 chicken ginger dumplings for less than $ 7. Very tasty and light lunch. Will come here again!

Downtown is one of the few truly über-walkable neighborhoods in Dallas. For those of us who live or work Downtown, I think we’re a little spoiled. And a little jaded. We can find just about anything yet I always find myself unable what to pick for lunch when I’m head out. Now that I have discovered Kaui, I feel like I have a solid, inexpensive, and fast option when I just can’t make up my mind. Tucked at the end of the underground food court in Renaissance Tower and connected to the Downtown tunnel network, Kuai might be hard to find if you’re searching on the surface. Their menu is generally Asian fusion with bits of various cuisines: Chinese, Indian, Korean, and Thai to name a few. Their feature items are the dumplings but they also have soups, rice bowls, and sides. They are really flexible here on customizing your requests which is a hit with me. For a fast food type place, the service is also awesome. If you’re a first time guest or you bring a first time guest, you get a free tea. They have a selection of 7 – 8 natural teas, both flavored and unflavored. I first came here just about 2 months ago and I’ve already been back several. I consider the food generally to be on the healthier side(compared to a burger and fries) and the prices cheap. The portions never leave me hungry. If you’re a downtown worker looking for a lunch time bite and you haven’t been, you’re certainly missing out!

I’m usually a sloppy burger, sloppy pizza, hunk of cake kind of girl. This place hooked me by giving it away free(samples). It was very tasty and I will go again … like after Thanksgiving and my arteries are clogged so I need to slow it down with some slow cooked beef … wait.
