Us women know how hard it can be to find a great nail salon. I had left my previous one after almost 4 years. By chance through a friend I found this one. My first experience was actually a good experience Kiana was wonderful and is talented at her job. My second visit was still good. The only disappoints at had at that time where the excessive gnats all over and the quality of the massage chairs which are not comfortable, but because of Kiana, I was willing to overlook these things. Because of the area the prices are slightly higher than other salons, but I was okay with this too. My bad experience came on my 3rd visit, I called on a Saturday at 1:30pm to see if Kiana was available and was told she would be there in 30 minutes. Perfect, I drive there 45 minutes later and no Kiana. The lady said that she should be there in 10 minutes and I could wait. I didn’t have time so I left. I come back at 4:30pm, Kiana is there and busy. She has a lady do my nails that was horrendous, she spoke absolutely no English and I almost thought I was her first pedicure. Fast forward almost 2 hours later and Kiana is ready to do my gel polish manicure. As she starts, in walks her 6:15pm appt. they lady is annoyed at waiting and says she can’t wait, I tell Kiana to go ahead I’ll wait. She says it’s only a quick polish. Forty five minutes later she comes back to start on my nails and I wanted a design for the 4th so she started making suggestions and working. By now the place is closed. I ld her the pedicure as horrible and that since I waited so long I should get a discount, she gave me $ 20 off. Then she asked why the pedicure was bad, I said there wasn’t anything specific, it was just overall bad, she was timid and afraid. Well at 9:00pm, yes, 4.5 hours later, she can’t finish my nails, I have to come back tomorrow for my design. Great, I had to bring my daughter back anyway. Sunday came and went and I was being lazy, Monday I text Kiana, what time should I arrive? She says 5. I say, I work until then, and she informs me she has a 6PM appt., okay, I’ll leave work early. I arrive at 5 and no Kiana, I text her, no response, I call her, no response, of course the only lady there is the one that doesn’t speak any English and is looking at me like something is wrong or she is confused. I’m irritated and I text Kiana and tell her that I took of early from work and this woman is here that is useless. I then went to Hollywood Nails on Preston and Royal and loved it. Professional with white jackets on and all. Great customer service and plenty of staff so no wait. Only disappointment is you have to too in cash! My new nail salon, and children get pedis and manis for 20 or 25!

In all honesty, this wasn’t the worst manicure I had. That’s sad. This was my experience at Hollywood nails. I went in at 10ish on a Monday morning. There was a girl inside sitting at her laptop with headphones in engaged in some kind of video chat. Turns out it was a Skype session with some other girl laying in a bed somewhere. How do I know this? Because when I told the girl that I needed a fill, SHETURNEDTHELAPTOPTOWARDTHEMANICURESTATIONANDDIDMYNAILSWHILETHESKYPESESSIONWASLIVE. That’s all I have to say about that. Also, coming to a theatre near you– creepy nail voyeur.

I went to this nail salon exclusively for four months and they gave me a terrible toe nail fungus — just had to have a podiatrist remove my big toe nail! This place does NOT sanitize their instruments or their foot baths well enough to kill fungus and bacteria. Use this place at your own risk! No sandals for me for at least 6 months… gross!

Nothing special here, unless you like to watch your friend right next to you get much better service(Hot towels, massage) while you get a basic beauty school manicure… both at the same price. Next time I will do my «spa manicure» myself at home and save the money.
