I have always had a good experience at Hillcrest. The management is accommodating and every tech I’ve had has been professional and very service oriented. Neon did my gel today and did a fantastic job on the shape and massage. He offered additional neck and shoulder massage which was incredible. The place is always super clean. I don’t understand the poor reviews as I’ve always had a great experience and recommend it to my friends.

I have given this place multiple chances while I search for a good new place in Dallas… Every time I am disappointed. They rush and the polish/gel never lasts and they charge so much! Day one polish chipped and they made me bleed on my toe and fingers. Horrible. Will never go back!

This place was absolutely horrible. Every time I go, I think it’ll be better, but it isn’t. Today I got a gel manicure in a bright red color. Diane was my nail technician. She filed off my previous gel and did so almost down to my skin. My nails are incredibly thin(granted they were already thin, but now they are paper thin and they hurt terribly). I usually do my own gel nails, but went to the salon today because I didn’t have time. I knew more about gel manicures than Diane. My first hint that my manicure was going south was when she put the clear base coat on. She put it all over my nails and on my skin. She then proceeded to put the red gel color on. Let’s just say the color is supposed to go on your nail, not all over your skin, cuticle, underneath your nail, on your fingertips etc. My nails look all red and bloody due to the red gel color being everywhere. All in all, it’s horrible. I ended up talking to the manager and she immediately refunded my manicure. I believe her name was Lynn. She was incredibly helpful and offered great customer service. There might be other nail techs, but I would never go to Diane again. If I’m paying $ 37 for a gel manicure, it better look a million times better than what I could’ve done at home. This experience was the exact opposite.

Good job on manicure and pedicure but Kim Do was super rude and aggressive. I’ll come back but it definitely won’t be with her. She did a debentures job but was NOT polite or gentle. I’m not sure if she was in a bad mood or what but no need to take it out of my hands and nails. This is supposed to be relaxing right? Nancy did my pedicure and did a good job.

The service was excellent. Beside that, I love the way they make the salon so clean and beautiful. The salon is so large, busy but quiet that makes me feel relax while sitting on the massage chair. I got a spa pedicure today and satisfied wish their service. The technician did my feet carefully and professionally. By looking at the way she cut my toe nails and my cuticles, I can tell this lady has many years experience in nails. She was also very friendly and talked with me a lot. I recommend this salon.

My hair salon, Toni & Guy, is next door to Hillcrest Nail Spa, so I have used this salon on a few occasions over the years due to ease of proximity. The nail techs and front desk have never been overwhelmingly friendly, but a recent negative experience has caused me to avoid this place at all costs in the future. See below: The 2 techs I had were rude, even to the point where one yelled at me that I was going to slosh water on the floor(I wasn’t). Both techs insisted I pay before the manicure was completed(ostensibly to avoid smudging my fingernails, but I do clear, which dries quickly). I explained that I do not pay for a service until it is finished, in part because it helps to determine the tip that is justified. They continued arguing with me until I flat out refused to pay until the sub-par mani/pedi was done. They sullenly complied but spoke to each other with other techs in their language about it(could tell because of the eyes that kept darting back to me). Overall, a horrible experience. I will never go back. I will instead go to my small neighborhood salon on Preston that, although is not as new, provides much better service(and does not try to force me to pay before they are done). Here’s some additional info: Pros-usually minimal wait time due to the size and high number of techs available. It’s a visually pleasing, updated nail salon. There’s free booze, which I suppose the Stepford wives and wanna be Dallas socialites will appreciate, but I don’t drink… Cons-The nail techs are aggressive in pushing their specialty mani/pedis. If you just want the«basic”-they act rude and rush through your service. Did I mention very rude techs? Poor service(had to point out crooked eyebrow job, uneven/jagged edges on nails, cracked heels that weren’t buffed, etc.-staff seemed put out that I pointed out). No one said goodbye, thank you for your patronage, etc. The whole experience screamed«screw you! we’ve got several other Highland Park patrons to treat like dirt, so like it or lump it!» Never going back… plenty of other salons in Dallas that are more polite and offer better service.

It’s okay. This has been my go-to nail salon for awhile now but lately they have been rushing through my pedicures which is disappointing. Let’s be honest– we love the foot massages! And when they cut me short on that I’m not satisfied. Perks– they will give you a cheap glass of box wine. And the place is clean. I’ll probably go back out of convenience to where I live, but I’m starting to shop around since the service has gone down a little and the prices stay UP!
