I have been here several times and am always pleased with the service and environment. Everyone that works here is awesome. They’re always friendly and accommodating. The outside has a perfect patio for good weather and fire pits for chillier days or evenings. It’s a great place to watch a football game or happy hour during the week, and an equally good place to come on weekends with a good crowd and a great DJ. They have Trivia night on Monday, $ 5 food and drinks on Tuesday’s, and live music occasionally, as well. They have great Texas Tech watch parties, and although I’m an Aggie, it’s still a fun crowd with good vibes. I have never ordered something I didn’t like. The menu is mainly different types of sandwiches, but they’re perfectly crafted and all very tasty. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the originality and taste of the menu. My favorite is probably the Prickly Patty. The caramelized cactus is so good and I always add bacon, as well. The pickled veggies go great with everything. Overall, I’ve never had any complaints upon visiting High Fives, which is why I’ve made it a personal staple that I take friends or dates to.

When meeting a friend for business at High Fives I was a bit amiss to its existence. However this bar has been alive for awhile without much press, and nothing is wrong with it. Two points up from being generic, and maybe overshadowed by much ballyhooed patio deck bar HG Sply or the quirky fun Beauty Bar with danceable DJ sets, High Fives is comfortable with a good happy hour. Everything is $ 5 on the drink menu and most everything on the food menu. The Brussel sprout salad was fresh with apples, warm crispy leaves on top of a tangy cold salad beneath. I chugged down glasses of wine as sunny 4pm turned to dark 6:30pm and we moved out to the fire pit on the patio. The eye candy is good here and on a Friday the place wasn’t packed which was good for me. Perhaps Dallas has one too many bars that High Fives has gone a bit unnoticed, but it’s a good hang outable spot that for now makes for a very enjoyable happy hour without obnoxious crowds. Vibe — slightly yuppy Highlight — happy hour, patio.

High Fives is one of those places you go to watch a football game when the weather is perfect. I was a little confused where the entrance was located and it seemed a little awkward walking through the outside patio area. I thought the outdoor patio with the fire place was really cute and perfect for the weather when it gets a little chilly outside. I enjoyed the actual restaurants itself more than what the restaurant had to offer(menu wise). I ordered the El Jefe sandwich with the brussel sprout salad for dinner. I feel as if the restaurant should have offer more dinner option items. Personally, I’m not much of a fan of ordering a lunch sandwich for dinner. Anways, I was really big fan of the brussel sprout salad and its something you should definitely order if you decide to make the choice to come to this establishment. The El Jefe sandwich was mediocre and Im not sure if there was much to even be said about it. Overall: I thought High Fives was okay. I would come back here to just have a drink and watch a game.

This first date was quite unique. Was doing some«fishing» on plenty of fish and after a few catch and release trials I found a fish that caught my eye. I had just had major reconstructive knee surgery and was on crutches for 6 weeks. I was heading home the next weekend and needed to do laundry and pack. After talking to this girl for a while we decided it was time to meet. She felt really bad for my story and decided to meet at my house to help me out(she was pretty daring since I couldve been a crazy person). She came over I had dinner delivered we polished off a few bottles of wine and SHEDIDMYLAUNDRY. That’s right a beautiful female was doing my laundry on a first date. I knew she was awesome that day. Needless to say 2 years later we are engaged and get married next year. Not sure many other people have first dates where the person they meet online come do their laundry and dirty drawers and then end up getting married.

I had a huge crush on this girl I’d known for about a month and finally mustered the courage to ask her out. The date is going fine until after dinner. We get in the car and she tells me she isn’t feeling well. We stop at Starbuck to get a water but she didn’t want that and told me to just take her home. I was super discouraged at this point because I was nuts about her. While we were driving back to her apartment in awkward silence she opens her to-go box and just starts barfing her intestines into her half eaten sandwich. Horrified, she looks at me and tells me she is so sorry. I finish driving her home and drop her off, thinking I would never hear from her again. Turns out, she was into me, but she was actually just sick. We’ve been dating for almost 6 months since. Thanks High Fives.

Great atmosphere, great drinks and great service! Love the laid back feel to this bar and all the outdoor seating. I wish I could watch a game here, would be the perfect setting. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!

We came here for happy hour and that did not disappoint. Their food and drinks were $ 5 for the most part which helped our tab not skyrocketed. I think they really like adding ginger beer to their mixed drinks so I ended up liking most of the drinks. My favorite(and the waitress) was the Julie! The half dozen wings were great appetizers. The meat was soft and the chipotle bbq sauce was not too overly saucy. We also ordered the side board which had chips, potato salad, tater tots, and pickled veggies. The tater tots were super addicting! The potato salad was a little too carb-heavy so I would probably just stick with the tots next time. By the time we actually ordered sandwiches(also $ 5 during HH), I was pretty full. I had the left coaster which consisted of turkey, avocado, bacon, and wheat bread. It looked and tasted healthy and pretty big in portion-size. The peanut butter crunch sandwich was definitely addicting! I love PB so for all you PB lovers, get this. Visually, the plate is small-looking so don’t be shocked. It was still big enough for one person. Overall, great service and food. Come check it out!

What a fun place! I came here for a drink after work on the Thursday before Halloween. The place was already decked out in spooky decorations(giant spider webs, disembodied hands, skulls, spiders, paper bats) and the every staff member was dressed in costume. Our server was dressed as a pirate and stayed true to character, calling my friend and I «lass» throughout the evening. They serve food, but it really is more of a bar than a restaurant. When we ordered our drinks, our server asked if we wanted to start a tab. When we said no, we’d just pay, we thought it was understood that we wanted to order some food first, but our server brought our checks right away. Of course she took them away when we explained that we also wanted to eat(our server was super nice and chill throughout the evening). But after we ordered our food we cashed out right away, so the place is definitely run more like a bar than a restaurant. We were fortunate enough to arrive during Happy Hour, when everything on their menu(except for the dip boards and wine bottles) is $ 5. My friend and I both ordered the Eastciders Texas Honey Cider(usually $ 6) and she got a BLT while I ordered some tater tots for us to share. The BLT looked great(it had an egg on it! And fried green tomatoes!) and my friend loved it. The tater tots were good! Pretty much your standard tater tots. Warm and salty and served with ketchup. I think you can also get them with cheese on them, if you want. I also ordered Zapp’s Chips, thinking they were housemade chips, but I guess Zapp’s is a brand, and I was given a little foil bag of potato chips. Only $ 1.50. They had some great tunes playing, and by 6:30 the place was hopping. It was a really festive atmosphere. Given the good Happy Hour deals, the friendly staff and the fun ambience, I think we’ll be making it a go-to place for after work drinks.

My review is only for the all day happy hour on Tuesday. The concept is perfect. Everything on the menu is $ 5 except for the meat & cheese boards. The food and drinks I ordered were delicious and made better by the affordability of them. I was surprised to see this place almost empty when I showed up. I’m sure word will get around soon with this kind of deal. I can’t wait to go back.

Not great… The 9 $ drink was 90% ice and the couscous salad had plastic in it. When you get a drink, ask for less ice. Don’t get the couscous salad. Sandwiches were good though. Staff is helpful.

I had high expectations for High Fives and they were all met. Great food(get the Dougie. seriously.), great environment, and great drinks. The location is pretty much all patio, but there’s plenty of tables and bar space inside when the weather’s not so welcoming. They have cornhole and a few other bar games if your into that stuff.

Yummy cocktails, bartender was very friendly, helpful, and outgoing, and two words: POTATOSALAD. I was tipsy and hungry and it satiated every fiber of my being. I will be back to try more cocktails and menu items! But if you’re a potato salad fanatic like me, definitely order theirs.

Tuesday Happy Hour all day — everything(food and drinks) $ 5! Dip Board — both salsas tastes, guac has good flavor, tastey hummus and the freshly grilled pita bread is perfect! We shared the High 5BLT& the El Jefe. BLT was close to perfection — fresh egg, crispy bacon, buttery toast; the fried green tomato was lack luster but not a detractor. El jefe left something to be desired– seems great in concept but the breaded chicken cutlet was dry, the black beans were dry, and nothing else made up for that. Could definitely use more spice too. Cocktails were decent(specially for $ 5) too! Doggy friendly– and they brought him water multiple times! Patio now shaded and easy to do when the sun goes down in the middle of the summer.

Here for the block party. Honestly. It was too crowded to tell. But still has a good time. So I guess if they’re crowded and I still had a good time that means something. I’ll have to come back when it’s not a special occasion.

Checked this place out last Friday for some drinks on the patio. no happy hour specials since it was Friday. The waitress was really knowledgable about the drinks and the menu for them just opening. The atmosphere was just what we wanted… chill and a nice patio! We tried a few sandwiches and everyone was happy with the food. The drinks were great, typical Dallas prices. We played some corn hole too. All in all, it was a perfect afternoon spot! We will definitely be back! I tried one of their signature frozen drinks… something Fizz. It was sweet and a little strong, had to move to beer after. The grilled cheese sandwich with tomato basil dipping sauce was amazing! My boyfriend tried the BLT, I had a bite it was great too!

The vibe is very chill. The patio is cool and the service is friendly. Not fast, but you come here to chill out so its cool. The Dougie sandwich is awesome. Drinks are good and the menu is pretty big for cocktails. The down side was the meat and cheese tray, which was gross. I know the sounds extreme, but it was not good– not at all. I’d pass on it next time. I’d come back for drinks but probably not food. The biggest bummer was all that smokers and the people who sat down next to us and started smoking. It was outside so I guess you have to deal with that but it was such close quarters. There are too many options in Dallas for cool patios. Probably won’t be back(even though the Dougie rocks!)

Pretty cool little place & much improved from the biergarden. I stopped in just for a drink so I haven’t tried the food yet. There are a few beers on tap & an additional selection of canned beer for $ 3 – 7 to choose from. There is also a large cocktail menu that looks delicious but at $ 10 a cocktail, I passed. Happy hour runs through 2 am M-F but not sure what all that entails. The food menu is small, mostly sandwiches and a few flatbreads but looks worth checking out. HIGHFIVE!
