Been here twice. I always order the chicken and it had been good each time. Each time the food is hot and service is fast. They are kinda expensive though. There rolls are amazing so I’ll be back. Great location as well.

This is by far the worst location I have ever gone to! I went there this evening and ordered 15 pieces of mixed chicken, and a gallon of sweet tea just to arrive home and find out that I had all roasted chicken, and spoiled tea! This isn’t the first time! Each time that I have gone to this location has been a problem! They either forget something in the order, or they just completely screw up your order like they did mine tonight and then have the nerve to have an attitude when you come back and complain! Poor customer service-no thank you, or have a nice day, just hand you your change/order and off you go! The servers forget what you ordered, and they sell you spoiled items! It’s close to home, but this was the last straw for me! I will NEVER go to this location again!

I think the chicken is overpriced a bit, but I evaluated their menu and realized that if you order it a certain way then it’s worth it that way. I ordered a two piece combo which comes with a drink and a side. I realized after I ordered it was a dark piece and a white piece pricing. I wanted two piece dark. If I ordered the pieces individually it would’ve been cheaper. There are combos that are worth the price, but some of it isn’t. Just have to look at the different combo prices and how many pieces. I’m only picky particularly with fried chicken and prices because I’ve worked at a fried chicken place my whole life. There’s free ice cream!!! The place is clean and nice too. Staff isn’t friendly. Impatient. Not helpful.

Some days the chicken tenders are REALLY good and other days not so much. I love their gravy and rolls. Sometimes they give extra yeast rolls without even asking :) Usually i ask for extra spicy seasoning. I can’t eat the tenders without the gravy.

I came here on a Wednesday around 6PM and there were already a couple of people waiting to order. I only ordered the 10 pieces legs and thighs for $ 9.99 with no sides and no rolls so I can’t really comment on that. I read some of the other reviews before coming here and asked for some of their spicy seasoning packets and a young lady behind the counter gave me some with a smile. I just thought I’d mention that because you don’t really expect much from fast food restaurants and some of their workers look like they’ve had better days. So onto the food… I don’t live in Dallas, let alone Texas so I wouldn’t really know how this place compares to the other fried chicken places nearby like Popeyes, but I thought their chicken was a little too salty. Even without the spicy seasoning it was a little much for my palate. Maybe other people are fine with it or maybe it was just this particular batch, but that’s what I thought. I still used the spicy seasoning with it which made it more salty, but not intolerable. I do wish their spicy seasoning was more spicy though. :(The chicken was crispy on the outside and there wasn’t too much bread on the outside– just enough. The meat inside was moist and you could tell there weren’t parts that were too dry or old… To wrap it up, it’s ordinary fried chicken. Nothing extraordinary or different and nothing bad. Ordinary fast food in terms of speed and service. I would probably be back if I lived here hahaha.

If you like fried chicken then you’ll like this place it’s pretty good, I usually get the chicken tenders and they are tender! If you want it spicy just ask for the seasoning because they put way to much Spicy seasoning on some pieces and barely any on the others. I rather season it myself

One of the best fried chicken places around. Yes it’s fast food, but this place is amazing! First of all their rolls are a piece of heaven. They are always warm, soft, and buttery. Sometimes I go there literally just to order the rolls! That’s how amazing they are. The chicken tenders are really good. But what makes them amazing is the(Lotta-Zing) spice seasoning. I even bought the bottle of it and use it on everything.

Sometimes when I dream, I dream about their chicken. I honestly think that their fried chicken is the best around town. It’s not overwhemingly oily and their seasoning leaves you mouth watered for days. Yes, it’s fast food but it’s REALLYGOOD fast food. Wicked Wings? Heavenly. The place is clean too!

The employees are focused on talking to their friends in the drive-thru, inside or on their cell. They have no customer service skills, experience or any motivation. It is obvious management has complete contempt for the customer. The roast chicken recipe is the absolute best. But, it is truly a rate bird. The store never has any prepared for the customer. The customer is always asked to wait 20 min. It takes about 10 to 15 min. I am not sure how you can roast chicken that quickly? If you do wait then you are still not guaranteed to bag the elusive roast bird. It is typical that you will be handed a box of ROAST chicken only to find a FRIED chicken surprise when get home. You might save yourself the wasted time and go to the numerous other fast food. The roast chicken is good but not good enough to be treated this bad as a customer. BTW The fried chicken is TOOGREASYWITHOLDOIL.

I mean… it’s fast food fried chicken. And for fast food fried chicken, it is the best! Fried just right, and their wings are not too fatty, which is my main complaint about other fried chicken joints. Can’t get enough of that zing seasoning. Adds that extra spicy kick — I always ask for extra. And their yeast rolls are always so fluffy and perfect… yum. On weekends, they have a special on their zing wings(or whatever they’re called). I believe it’s 59 cents per wing? Service isn’t that great, but it’s fast food.

I was craving for wings today and while in the area, we came to this Golden Chick. My meal was cooked to perfection and it defiantly hit the spot for my craving. First, the roll that came with my meal was so fluffy and perfect, it looked and tasted like it came straight out of the commercial. As for the wicked wing, they don’t skimp out on the zing here. The amount was generous and the wings were super crispy! The tenders we got were nicely crisped on the outside and tender in the inside. As for the sweet tea, maybe a little too sweet… No big deal though, just add a bit of the unsweetened tea, and you’re good to go!

love this place… the roasted chicken was sooooo good. the seasoning is yummy and reminds me of my sisters cooking :) I have tried the fried chicken and it was ok… the batter just tasted like corn flakes to me…(kanye shrug) but the roasted chicken, rolls, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, orkra, tenders, sweet tea is yummy

If you’ve been to Golden Chick, there’s nothing else quite like it. The food is comfort food like no other. I always get the chicken tenders, spicy, of course. Then it’s a toss up between the fried okra, the mac and cheese and the corn on the cob. Yesterday I got the fried okra and it was good, but I should have gotten the mac and cheese. It’s so hard to find a place that makes it well. Golden Chick is one of them. I don’t care if the cheese never hardens. Not even after being refrigerated. I don’t care, I say! The secret, or the best part of the meal, is the gravy. It’s so good. Although the chicken tender is very good on its own, it’s absolutely no match for the gravy. It’s just a vehicle to get the gravy to your mouth. And granted, if I thought I could be sustained on just the gravy and that the wife, a dietitian, wouldn’t frown on my attempt, I would totally just order gravy. Put it in a thermos and sip it all day. Probably not in the summer, that’d be gross. =oD So here’s what you do. Get yourself a #1(4 Spicy tenders, one side, a roll and a drink, you don’t really need more, it’s enough). Then sit down, pray and then take a tender, dip it in the gravy and eat. Don’t chomp down on the tender. Just bite the part that has gravy on it. You gotta use up all the gravy before you run out of tenders. Lather, rinse, repeat, enjoy. Oh yes, the roll. So this depends on whether you’re a sweet roll kinda guy. I am. I get some honey sauce(ingredients: honey, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, water), cut your roll in half, put the honey on one half and put some butter spread on it. Now enjoy again. Yum. If you didn’t space out your gravy properly, now is the time to use the other half of your roll to sop up what’s left. You’re lucky I gave you a way out of this mess you’re in. Lastly, they only serve Pepsi products. Boo. I wanted to make me a Coke float with the free soft serve, but it’s not the same with Pepsi. Oh yes, the free soft serve. Get one while you’re waiting for them to dish up your food.

First to review this particular Golden Chick: this is a defining moment in my Unilocal career. Though I have lived in Texas for seven of the last ten years, I had never been to a Golden Chick before this one. How is that possible, you say?! Well, while others I know have raved about their iced tea– I am immune to the love of iced tea, and have always declined the opportunity to go there. Now, I have been to this Golden Chick twice. First, I must mention that the yeast rolls are fantastic. If I were to become a vegetarian, I could easily consume enough of these to sustain myself, if not inflate myself. The chicken strips are really good too– they have a nice fluffy batter on that. You have the option of getting them«spicy,» which I am still undecided on. «Spicy» refers to dumping some red powder on the chicken. I’m leaning towards a no on spicy. Why? While I do enjoy a caliente spice to my meal, this is at the whim of how heavy handed the employee is. The results? Sometimes it’s a light drizzle and sometimes it’s a monsoon of this spice flavoring. Oh, and they have gravy. People seem to like it, but I don’t do gravy. Fortunately, Golden Chick does not require reservations. You can go whenever you get the urge, even on Sundays!
