For what its worth, Gators is a decent spot. Don’t expect to get first class dining or a service experience and you’ll be ok. I came out Saturday night with a group of girlfriends to celebrate birthdays and sing Karaōke. We came pretty early, around 7:30 and the place was empty. Our waitress came around and took our drink and food orders, but it seemed like it took forever before the appetizers came out and even longer for the food, which is typical bar fare. By 9:00 the crowd had swelled, and just before 10:00 karaōke started. This slightly irked us because we came to sing and it was way too long to wait to get started. Once it began though, we showed out and entertained like only we can and had a great time. The crowd changes the later it gets and depending on your bourginess, its either a good or a bad thing… for me, a not so good thing and I headed out around 11:00pm.

1 star Bc I couldn’t go less. It’s been 28 minutes and I still haven’t received my beer. There are a total of 12 other customers here.

Not impressed. Friendly staff, but it’s low key sports bar atmosphere. $ 4.00 mimosas, but it’s basically orange juice. You’re not missing anything if you never came here.

This joint is TRASHY! Yes, I did have breakfast there; so maybe I was asking for it. But, Eileen’s down the street had too long of a wait and I was starving! A friend and I both got the sampler breakfast and it was tasteless, way overpriced, and came out cold. The table was sticky and our waitress was not attentive. Typically, I have had some good luck with brunch and bars. But, not here. The staff and clientele was questionable, as well. Never again!

Not the best staffing in the world, but the drinks are cheap and super strong. The roof top is also a good time, all though they don’t utilize it enough. I live in the neighborhood and would absolutely fall through if they had more events! The crawfish nachos and fried pickles are great

While attending the Cotton Bowl, we ate here New Year’s Day. I don’t really know where to begin. When we asked about a table, the gentleman working the door asked us to wait for an open table, as they were all full. Completely understandable. What stood out, was the number of people waiting, with no order or system in place to be seated. It was a free for all. We waited about 10 minutes and found our own table. Not bad for New Year’s Day. The multi colored menu with green font is difficult to read. While eating our food, which was horrible(burger and chicken fingers), I heard the doorman tell a waiter that he was going to stop letting people in; they were too busy. I counted 4 empty tables. Our waiter was brand new, first day working. Iggy was the highlight of the visit. Our reason for walking in was to catch the second half of two bowl games. If we had known the food was this bad, we would have never come in. Avoid.

If I could give it less stars I would! Walked in New Year’s Eve it was dead and the manager walks up to me and asks if I have papers for my service dog! While I do, it is illegal to ask me that. I will never be a customer of this place. Not because of the question but because when I tried to explain her question was not appropriate, she walked off.

One star is for the waiter. He did his best to keep up with his tables and make drinks. Bartender was more worried about the small party then making drinks for the tables that were there. I ordered Cajun style gator and I think the ketchup had more spice then the food. If you want real Cajun food hit Freemans in deep ellum. Don’t waist your time or money here.

Well, the beer is cold. Alot of tvs. There is a guyoutside trying to get people to eat here. I didn’t speak to him. Seems nice enough. The red beans and rice with fried catfish is to die for. And my waittress/bartender, Becca is great… sweet, cute and full of spunk… ill be back. I eat from here every time in in Dallas,

A smelly divey bar that I would not recommend — here’s why: Gator’s smells like bad, sticky, spoiled beer. When we were there(over the span of two hours on a weeknight) the bartender had to be hunted down. The location was the main reason we selected this spot.

Beer bar trying to serve breakfast to tourists. Not the best experience. We were told 1hour wait for Ellen’s Southern next store which was our destination. Stick to bar Bites and beverages.

My parents were in town visiting and we were out and about sight seeing and decided to stop here for lunch. It was the least busy place on the street and my dad who hates to wait was with me so that is why we choose Gator’s. It is a cute little place and the menu is okay nothing extravagant. Two of us had fried shrimp po-boys and the other a burger. The po-boys were very good and the person who had the burger said it was excellent. The reason I am giving them 3 stars is it really smelled like a sewyer when you walked in and if certain people in our party were okay with waiting I think we would have left because of it. The other is the there was one server for the entire place we never got drink refills even, the server never had time to check on us, and it took forever to order and get the check.

I went on Sunday for lunch. I planned to eat next door but the wait was over an hour. As I walked past Gator’s, the man outside convinced us to go in. We were very satisfied. I had some type of Cajan pasta that had shrimp, chicken and sausage. It was really good. I also had one of their frozen drinks which was good too. Hubby had the red beans and rice. He said that he enjoyed his food too. Along with our waitress, other staff also came to our table. I’ve gone once on a Friday evening for karaōke. That was sooooo much fun. I didn’t order food that night but now I wish I would’ve. It was a great experience and I will definitely return. The prices were a little higher than I would’ve liked and a few more items on the menu would be great. But, my experience was good!

I went here on Wednesday for Wingsday, $.50 Wings. I was not impressed by the food. I ordered lemon pepper wings which came with a butter sauce poured over it and barely any lemon pepper flavor. I only ate 2 out of 6. Then I ordered the loaded fries. The cheese was dry as if it was sitting out all day. I definitely won’t order that again. It also made my Stomach hurt later that night. The food was also pricey for what it was. Loaded Fries for $ 8.99, why? Everything was at least $ 8.99 or above, even appetizers. Not worth it. My friend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak… I’ve lived in Philadelphia for the past 2 yrs. That was NOT a cheesesteak, smh! However, the music was good.

Gators is one of the many businesses in the West End area that is still striving from all the innocent tourists that are trapped within this area. But I gotta admit that whenever we walk down the West End for unknown reason we always have to stop by and get a drink. We had their Daiquiris, while the taste isn’t bad the price is. i should say is for tourist. $ 8 for a small serving. This is the same reason why we never eat here. The appetizers starts at $ 8.99. You can get the same amount for a meal at Razoos and based in some reviews that other places might taste better too. Would still be coming for drinks when in the area though.

Meh — The service was mediocre. Food… Okay, I was a sucker and bought the gator for $ 19, or totally not worth it. But one of my biggest pet peeves, draft beer in plastic cups, come on get real! Apparently I should listen to Unilocal more often, the clientele here is in fact, well yeah… I would suggest only coming for drinks and/or drink specials. Save your money for better food for sure. For example Ellens just a couple of doors down was fantastic. The moral of the story is, listen to what people on Unilocal are saying!

Not a fan. This place is gross. The people are ghetto and the food is nasty. The food reminds me of microwaved bar fare. It doesn’t feel safe. They have a cop outside, which makes you wonder why. What normally goes on here is shady as hell? Probably. Another sketchy thing — they also have a street hustler that tries to recruit you to come in like they have in New Orleans and Las Vegas. The beer on tap is flat. The clientele is lower class. The only appeal this place has is its location. Speaking of location, it’s only two blocks from the fun bars. Texas does not allow a CHL holder to carry in a bar. That means the only ones unarmed are those that obey the law. Hold your purse or wallet closely here. Don’t drink too much. Stay frostey and watch your six.

Arrived at the location at about 8:30 was told after 9:00 you have to be 21 my sister who came with us is 20 and the guy who was there(couldn’t tell if he was an employee or waiter) told us we could eat but then we would have to leave. Which was fine just didn’t want to waste the $ 6 we had already paid for parking. So we sat down and ate I was a tad bit upset because there were a few kids there past 9 pm and when I say kids I do mean under the age of 10. But through the night we weren’t bothered but just a heads up. Now food was ok didn’t take too long for us to sit down get drinks in which I ordered the blue Hawaiian which was good and get food as well. Now there are no prices on the drinks or shots menu but my drink was $ 8.50 just wish they had prices on the menu. My sister had a nonalcoholic drink a pink lemonade was never told it wouldn’t be free refills so was charged $ 10 for the two drinks she had of pink lemonade. Atmosphere was cool I liked it I got to laugh they played up to date songs and you can on the mini stage and do karaōke if you would like. It was crowded I don’t know if it was because it was a Saturday night there were two birthday parties and The rooftop was closed. Overall I would come back again to try

Went out with my girls and Riley the pup(pet friendly) for happy hour. We had a blast. I was a lil hesitant at first because I didn’t hear great news at first. I was convinced to go because the ladies wanted to give it another shot. So glad I went. Happy hour was great. Between the 5 of us we shared fried pickles, mozzarella sticks and fried jalapenos. The apps were plentiful. Huge portions and very tasty. We had a 2 rounds of shots that were good too. Gummy bears and vegas bombs. I ordered the sex in the jungle. I wasn’t expecting it to be a frozen drink but it was great. The server was fun and dancing with us. The décor wasn’t gorgeous but it was cool. Water themed. Bathroom a lil smelly. Music on the patio and a pretty good genre mix. Great happy hour choice.
