I went to this location Saturday night, and a girl behind the register told me that this location will be closing. She also told me, it was because there is a conflict going on between the owner of Fuzzy’s and the owner of the shopping center.(Not sure how much of that is true). I really would hate to lose this place, because I know a lot of people that go here from the Lake Highlands area, and old East Dallas. Sometimes the food is a miss, but for a quick fix and a cold beer, this is the place to be. I have met a few friends there and my family and I would go here for Sunday brunch. I know there is not much we can do, but all good things must come too and end. Well, after reading some reviews, sounds like there was a lot of unsatisfied customers. Maybe the real reason is lack of customer services and bad reviews.

I don’t know what’s going on, but the quality here has really gone south lately. Cold food, incomplete orders, argumentative staff, overcharged for my meal, and just generally not very good(all over several visits — not just one). Time for a recharge, Fuzzy’s!

Very average and fairly tasteless. This seems like a spot for parents with young kids or young adults on a morning after a long night out. The tables seems to never be clean. You pay extra to add jalapeños. Even for nachos. That just seems crazy to me. We are in Texas!!! You should have to decline peppers as opposed to begging for them!

Yes, it’s rather authentic, but as I was saying, it’s the first restaurant I’ve seen make fun of its own food, and the only Mexicans in here are working

Bummer… This review is based on several visits, not a grudge review. Velvetta queso, unfriendly cooks/servers who offer skimpy servings and all overly salted food. Filthy seating, dirty beverage bar. Have they ever wiped down condiment bottles… sticky and nasty. Ending on up note, guacamole is pretty good which is why I have 2 stars rather than one.

It’s just OK. With so many other taco places around, their actual taco selection on the menu is very bland. I like some variety and this doesn’t have it. Also, I waited 20 minutes for my taco which I think is excessive. Better taco places out there.

Gets an average review. I have eaten at three different locations — the food is always okay, not great, not terrible. I will be trying other places, there has to be better tacos here.

I love the shrimp tempura jumbo burrito. I’ve been here many times and have had many different things. It’s all good.(Even the breakfast tacos) If you’re drinking age get a margarita during happy hour, it will make you happy. Fun fact, both Fuzzys off Mockingbird Ln give you a discount if you show your student ID.

Love Fuzzy’s but I absolutely hate this location. The pros: It’s close by and it’s cheap, but that’s about all this location has to offer. We came here last Wednesday to grab a quick bite because we were in quite a bit of a time crunch and the place seemed less than crowded. Our order was simple, 3 chicken fajitas tacos, a shrimp taco, 2 fajita beef tacos and a margarita. What we ended up getting was, 2 chicken fajita tacos, a shrimp taco, one beef taco and 2 margaritas. Um what? The employee who helped take our order seemed less than eager to take it and when we explained to her that we only wanted 1 margarita she was quick to sigh and yell at someone else to take it off, then we were non-existent in her realm of pink hair. Oh… okay… our bad. As for the rest of our tacos? Well, it wasn’t worth it anymore. Perhaps the employees should get off their phones while working and actually help the other cashier that seemed to tackle a line of 10 people while the rest of the employees sat around a booth and played on their phones. One last thing, the quality of the food in this location seems to be going downhill fast. Was there a management change? I don’t believe the beef fajita should be slimy…

Sometimes when I call to place my order to go I get put on hold for an eternity and have to hang up and call back. I’m always surprised when they don’t ask me to hold upon calling back. What gives? Anyway, other than that I don’t have any complaints about this location. The food is consistent — the big pulled chicken salad is always fantastic, as are the shrimp tacos. Love the huge plastic drink cups. Still haven’t figured out whether you can bring them back for free refills or refills at a reduced price. The mystery continues…

Now let me start off by saying I love fuzzys, we usually go to the one in rowlett but we decided to give this one a try. Staff: awful awful awful service. The guy who took the order was by far the rudest cashier I’ve met and was sarcastic and snippy. Then he got my order wrong and the cooks were rude when I let them know and made me pay the extra(I didn’t really mind but they were rude about it.) the food wasn’t bad but I suggest everybody just head to the one in rowlett, much better service and worth the drive.

Before yesterday, my review would have probably been 3 stars. Not the best food, but conveniently located and popular, with just enough effort from the staff to provide a just slightly better fast food experience than McDonalds or Taco Bell. Plus they have margaritas and pretty good queso and breakfast tacos most of the time. After yesterday’s service though, make that 2 stars. It’s a shame, since most of the other employees I’ve dealt with here are typically pretty friendly, even if apathetic. … Let me start with my first stop in yesterday afternoon. It was about 1:30 and when I walked in, they were relatively swamped. No biggie though– it’s still lunch time, I’m not starving to death, and the line usually moves pretty quickly. But as I looked around, I noticed only a couple cooks and one cashier. The cashier was on the phone, totally ignoring customers. Dude is 30-something, «U of A» white and red frat-boy ball cap on backward, Fuzzy’s T-shirt, cargo shorts… Clearly annoyed, taking the phone call more seriously than most cashiers would need to and incapable of multi-tasking — perhaps a manager/business owner who got called in because no one bothered to show up and he was planning on heading to the golf course with his franchisee friends today? Okay, so they’re probably understaffed right now– It happens. I’ll just come back after my 1:45 wine-tasting appointment at the studio with a potential distributor when I’m not so pressed. When I returned around 2:15(when I could just have easily walked to Taco Joint, Lovers Pizza, Olivella’s, Lakewood’s 1st&10, Subway, 7−11… you get the point), there was a different guy on the phone and the cashier(/manager?) from earlier was helping the only other customer. Perfect! This will be quick and simple! I was in the mood for a quesadilla, which are kinda overpriced here, but still it sounded good. I had a terrible experience last time with a chicken quesadilla that had so many wet, non-cheese ingredients that the tortilla disintegrated in the 2-minute walk back to work, so I wanted to make sure I ordered correctly. «Does that come with pico de gallo on it?» I asked. «It comes with sour cream *and* pico de gallo.» Was his curt response. «Are those on the side or actually in it, because I – « “It has pico and sour cream on the side and it has pico and garlic sauce with the meat and cheese. Do you just want meat and cheese or do you want all of it?» «Just beef and chee – « Cutting me off a second time and raising his voice in a tone that 13-year-old girls might take with their parents, eyebrows raised enough to tilt his backward-facing ball cap, «That’s why I was telling you it had sour cream and pico on the side, it has the other stuff inside it and I wanted to make sure all you wanted was beef and cheese.» Taken aback, I just looked at him with a dazed expression and said«So did I.» A blank stare and then«six eighty-two,» was his response. «Your number is 819, ma’am,» as he handed me my change, dropping some of it in his haste, then rolling his eyes and reopening the cash drawer to replace what he’d lost. Yes, calling me ma’am after acting like a total a-hole makes it all better… Tell yourself that. Normally I throw a buck and my coins in the tip jar. Today they went directly back into my wallet. The best part though, is that as he whisked past me to bus a few tables, he looked at my phone screen while I was typing my check-in. I noticed then that he suddenly took a much softer and friendlier tone with the next few customers… Too little, too late, Brah… From now on I’ll just get my food from Taco Joint, Lovers Pizza, Olivella’s, Lakewood’s 1st&10, Subway, 7−11… you get the point…

One sunny afternoon I was leaving White Rock Lake and decided to stop in for a quick snack. I don’t think I’ve had Fuzzy’s before, but they were tasty. I had a couple beef tacos and I slipped one craw fish taco on my order just to try something different. I have to admit that I liked them. With the large patio and a tasty beverage, how can you go wrong? Now this isn’t one of those authentic street taco places, so don’t come here expecting that. These are tasty, cheap and simple. Nothing complicated here. On a side note, I was a bit shocked by all the other items on the menu. Burritos, Nachos, Salads, soup and more. I guess I need to go back for a Sunday patio afternoon.

My life changed after I went to Fuzzy’s for the first time in August. After I came back to Philly, my Fuzzy’s cravings got so horrible that I booked another flight in February. Needless to say, this was my first food stop when I arrived back in the Lone Star State. If I could have one wish in the entire world, it would be that some smart restaurant owner would franchise this and bring it to Philly. Oh dear lord, the chips and queso found here is the perfect starter. The melted cheese queso is topped with MORE cheese and tomatoes. It is to die for. Not only is the queso a perfect flavor, it comes with unlimited chips brushed with Fuzzy Dust– so feel free to stock up and bring some home with you for some late night eats. Every time I come to Fuzzy’s I order the soft Baja tacos. You cannot go wrong with the shredded beef, chicken or pork tacos. Topped with a homemade Pico de Gallo and cilantro– the tacos taste fresh and satisfying. The can’t-miss taco at this Fuzzy’s is the Tempura Shrimp Taco. The crunch of the tempura shrimp blends perfectly with the garlic sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, cilantro, and feta(toppings). The true appeal of Fuzzy’s is the $ 3.50GOBLETS of beer. They have beer on tap behind the cash registers– and on a hot day after walking around White Rock Lake, you have deserved one. Dos Equis goblet sized for $ 3.50? Don’t mind if I do!

If I stumbled on this place in my hometown in Indiana, where the only Mexican restaurants are Chi Chis and Taco Bell, I would have been pleasantly surprised. So, a bit of this review is about context. In Dallas, where there are a multitude of good joints, Fuzzy’s is sub par. The food is serviceable, not bad exactly, but nothing to write home about. Mediocre. There are half a dozen places nearby that are better for the same or less money. Point your car East on Mockingbird and head to Good to Go.

Why would anyone come here when Taco Joint is across the street? Skimpy tacos, terrible service & screwed up orders. They’re burritos are all lettuce and tortilla. Their chips and queso are yummy but that’s all.

Overall, I recommend this Fuzzy’s as a place to have an enjoyable casual night out. Fun, social place. I’ve had better tacos, but I’ve had much, much worse. Very good beers on tap, great patio to hang out with friends and a casual atmosphere to just relax in.

I’ve been here 3 times now and each time I think«why did I come here again?» Perhaps it’s the countless Fuzzy’s resusable cups the hubs has stock piled in his trunk but I really just don’t care for it. The place just has a grundgy feel that doesn’t feel«clean.» The two vegetarian burrito options are on different ends from each other with hardly a price difference. So either I get just bean and cheese orrrrrr I get everything in it without cheese and beans? Uhmm… let’s talk about how odd that is. The trash situation was yuck… a dirty rag near the place where you get your water glasses… eh. I’m glad I saw it after I ate because I would have definitely lost my appetite. As they say in baseball, three strikes you’re out!

It saddens me to post my first-ever downgrade of a restaurant review, and this may be generalized for many Fuzzy’s locations across the eastern Metroplex. Ever since they franchised and expanded, optimizing and standardizing recipes and ingredients for corporate purposes, the food quality has been on a negative trend. I typically end up getting the same few meal items no matter the Fuzzy’s location, and have experienced them steadily getting smaller in portion size and diminishing in quality of preparation. Growing with the original Fort Worth location and once a cheerleader of the same, I can only be generous with my revised three-star rating.
