This is my 2nd time here and both times I’ve had to wait about 45 minutes to get my food. Even my appetizer of chips and green chile queso. Today I’m here and am ordering to-go to thinking it would be faster. It’s not. It took an hour this time

Torchy’s Tacos is from Austin, and with it being my first time in Texas, I needed to try it! This location seems to be popular because it’s near SMU. You order in line, get a number, and grab a table if available. Menu is extensive, and 2 tacos are plenty to fill you up. I tried the Mister Pink taco– Guajillo seared ahi tuna, cabbage fresco, cilantro, and queso. It was delicious! We also got the Green Chile Queso which was great as all of the other reviews said. We mistakenly got 2 orders(1 to-go, 1 to-stay) and the to-go order came with an abnormally large portion of chips(a good thing!) so there’s a portion discrepancy there you can use to your advantage. Service is kinda non-existent, which is fine for this type of self-serve establishment. These are excellent Americanized tacos with lots of variety. Don’t forget to order the queso!

I love torchys. Amazing very unique tacos. Some Tex mex, some Americanized, some traditional. CHECKOUTTHESECRETMENU! You won’t be disappointed! The elotes are awesome, add Diablo sauce for an extra kick. And the queso!!! Must get the queso, add chorizo or brisket for a different twist. Only thing I will say is the seating is rough. Close quarters and not much to go around!

I love Torchy’s tacos but I think my favorite thing to order is their queso. It’s pretty perfect. This location is fun, has some nice seats outside.

One of the best Taco joints you can go to in DFW. Many say it’s the only place they are a democrat. I love the chips and queso, steak tacos and breakfast tacos.

Long story short: don’t go to this location of you like to customize your order. Now let me explain. I lived next door to the first brick and mortar Torchy’s in Austin, so I am a longtime Torchy’s fanatic; however, this particular location has to be their weakest. And I’ve tried many locations. If you do any sort of customization, chances are this staff isn’t going to get it right. Which would be fine if I were still at the restaurant, as I would just send it back, but this discovery always seems to be after I get home with my to go order. It’s frustrating to pay for extras you don’t receive; its frustrating to listen to the cashier read your customized order to you then once you start to eat you realize none of those extras ended up in your taco. This has happened probably almost a dozen times over the last couple of years at this location. Unfortunately it’s the closest one to our house, which is why I continue going back. The Forest location is much better and has never made a mistake on my same customizations; go to that one if you’re deciding between the two.

Haven’t met a Torchys I didn’t like. Came to this location for a quick lunch with staff once and here again for work. Love the cross roads and queso!!! Love the self serve limes on the counter along with leftover bags. Not all locations have had this on each visit and its so much easier than asking. Go here!

Visited once. Food was decent… after we finally received the correct food. **DONOTVISITIFYOUHAVEDIETARYRESTRICTIONS*** After getting our food we realized that one of the orders was wrong. We informed the person who was delivering food, and she really didn’t seem to care at all. She took our food back, and about 5 minutes later brought us back the burrito opened up and said«This is what you ordered.» After explaining to her the second time what was wrong, she took it back and 10 minutes later we had a new burrito. I am able to look over the mistake of our food being wrong, but to bring it back to me and attempt to prove that it is what I ordered? Seriously? Someone we were with also ordered a taco with no cheese because they do not eat dairy, their taco had small portions of cheese on it. It wasn’t a big deal for them, but I’d say that anyone who has dietary restrictions should not eat here.

Darn it! I’m so addicted to this place! Tacos are not legit Mexican, but who cares?! They are bomb! My favorite is the fried avocado, with pickles carrots. Ugh so good! I love that they give you different salsas that compliment each taco, and they give you the option of what tortilla to choose. I especially love that each month they have a taco of the month! I will admit that sometimes they are too out there for me to try, but it’s cool. Also, on Sunday’s they have $ 3 bloody Mary’s, tequila sunrise and mimosas for brunch! Yes please!

Decent Tex-Mex tacos with unique, fun names. The place is clean, the employees are nice, & the bathrooms are clean but cramped. This is not my go to place for Americanized tacos, I prefer Velvet Taco, but I have a lot of friends that like to get food from here. I think people just like ordering food with crazy names & the décor makes you feel like you’re dining with the devil. It’s not just about what you sell but how you sell it & these guys have perfected it. I’ve had several different tacos & they all taste good but they aren’t 5 star excellent. They have a lot of options & a secret menu. You can customize your taco to your liking with flour/corn tortillas &6 different hot sauces. Their chips are so light & crispy & yummy! You can’t eat just one! The queso is really good & not that fake glow in the dark cheese like other places but it’s a big serving, so share! The have maine root sodas which use natural ingredients & I love the Mexican coke! These sodas just taste better! They usually have long lines during busy times so it’s best to call in your order ahead of time! They have a nice outdoor patio and outdoor bar patio area… is that what you call it? I don’t know but it’s cool. You can hang out and people watch all the SMU shenanigans!

One of the more busy locations in the DFW, with pretty limited parking spots. They recently opened up a new garage in the back, but that doesn’t quite extend enough parking to the amount of traffic that comes in at peak hours. Wait time is relatively long; nearly an hour or so during mid lunch/dinner. But I have to admit that I haven’t had a taco here that I didn’t enjoy. My go-to items are the Mr. Orange(salmon based), Baja Shrimp, and the Democrat. I always ask for extra chipotle and avocado sauces on the side. The tacos don’t look that impressive, but they really do fill you up. I love the amount of flavor packed into each one. I also recommend the chips and queso and coming here during their killer happy hours. If you’re not an alcohol fan, they spoil you with Maine Root! Overall, great place. Nice service and clean tables. Can get a bit crowded, but that’s typical of the SMU setting.

There’s a bunch of Torchy’s Tacos, and they’re a good brand of tacos. However, this particular one, I DONOTRECOMMEND coming here Sunday mid lunch where you will get very frustrated of searching for parking for 30 minutes, and then coming into a long line where they tell you right when it’s your turn to order that there are no more taco shells available. It’s worth just making an extra 10 minute drive from downtown Dallas to the Forest Ln location.

This is definitely my favorite torchys location in Dallas! Always on point, reasonable wait times, and great service! First off, if you’re coming to torchys you must know that once upon a time these delicious tacos came from a food truck in Austin. Since, it has spread like Texas wildfire! The food has remained the same and executed well for having so many stores. I have two go-to tacos. 1. Fried avocado on corn. Omg. The combination of fried avocado, decried beans, lettuce and cheese is amazing. I’m a huge fan of their pablano sauce. I put that shit on everything! 2. Baja shrimp on corn. Also devoured with pablano sauce. Lightly fried shrimp with a slaw/picked onions and jalapeños with queso Fresca.

Everyone I’ve met keeps raving about the queso, and I now understand. The queso is dangerously addictive… one bite will leave you wanting more. For around $ 5 you can get a generous portion of queso that is perfectly cheesy. honestly, I don’t know how to describe it other than it’s freakin’ delicious. Now moving on to the tacos, I got the trailer park, beef and chicken fajitas. The tacos are hearty — plenty of meat to satisfy your hunger! All the tacos are flavorful and tasty, but my only complaint is that the flour tortilla isn’t toasted and gets all soggy from the oil! In case you didn’t know, Torchy’s Tacos also has pretty good happy hour deals, such as $ 4 in-house margarita, $ 6 peg legs(frozen margarita with fruit swirl of choice and coronita) and beer specials that I don’t remember. I got the peg leg and it’s smaller than expected, but still pretty good.

I know people go crazy for Torchy’s, but I guess I don’t really see the appeal. To me, this is a notch above Chipotle with a bit more interesting menu. These tacos are massive. Two is plenty for any reasonable appetite. Toppings are interesting and varied, but kind of overdone. I definitely get the«fast food» feel from this food, and it didn’t super fresh or authentic. Good in a pinch, but didn’t really live up to the hype for us.

Visited Torchy’s for the first time with my brother who lives in Dallas near SMU. BANGIN’. The green chile queso is THE single most delicious, flavorful queso I’ve ever had, I agree with the other reviews. Chips seemed homemade too they were great. I got the Mr. Orange taco(salmon, avocado cream, mango salsa? Delish) on a corn tortilla, and my brother always gets the egg breakfast taco and adds potatoes and chorizo-took a bite and went to heaven. I like their Maine Root soda machines and full bar, too. Soda machine ran out of ice but they fixed it rather quickly. Great place

Hands down the best queso I’ve had. It’s so addicting you don’t realize when you started and when you finish the bowl. The blend of cheeses, fresh herbs, onions, and avocado dissolves in your mouth. Tacos are great. Our favorites: –brushfire –republican –democrat –fried avocado –trailer park Don’t forget to ask about their secret menu.

I am completely OBSESSED with Torchy’s Tacos. I have been for a long time and mostly visited their Austin locations. Now, I’m in Dallas and thankful for their Dallas locations :) This is the only Dallas location I’ve been to and the tacos(and drinks!) have never disappointed. This location always has friendly staff. However, my only complaint is the wait time after you order food. It seems that they are a little slower than most Torchy’s that I’ve been to. This is a great place for all times of the day. I especially love their different daily specials. The only alcoholic beverage I’ve had here is the mango margarita. It is one of my favorites :) Don’t forget about the queso! It’s on my top five queso list!
