Went there cause I love Einstein. Only to find it’s been closed for a year and taken over by… You guessed it! Starbucks! Please take this page down so people don’t get confused.

I have been going to Einstein’s for years and years, and I have never been treated as poorly as I was today. I went into your store to purchase my usual coffee and bagel, and the purchase price seemed different so when Janie Coronado asked if I wanted a receipt I said yes. It showed a charge for a large coffee, instead of a medium. When I held up the cup and asked«is this a large» she said«oh no that is a medium». Then we stood there and looked at each other for a few seconds before she picked up a large coffee cup and said«do you want a large?». I looked at it and considered, but really I only want a medium because any more than that gives me heartburn. So I said«No, I can’t drink that much coffee.» She said«OK» and turned around to make someone else’s bagel. I went to fill my coffee cup and when she called my bagel order I asked«Can I have a refund for the difference?». She said sarcastically«You want your 22 cents back?» I said«Yes, I would.» I don’t even know if the difference is 22 cents, but this is insane. I ordered a medium, she rang up a large, and then acted like I was being difficult and it was my fault. Instead of refunding the card I used to pay(like I always do) she opened the cash drawer, grabbed 22 cents and held out her hand and said«Here.» Not once did she apologize for HER mistake. I realize 22 cents is not a lot of money. Consider this: 22 cents x 5 days/week = $ 1.10×52 weeks/year = $ 57.20, which to me adds up to a sizable sum for coffee. If she had actually even faked sorriness for her mistake, I probably would have put that 22 cents in her tip jar. The fact that it is only 22 cents is probably why she is irritated, or maybe its because she has to work at the holidays. But guess what, I wouldn’t be going to your store in downtown Dallas if I wasn’t at work 2 days before Christmas too. So Merry Christmas. You just lost a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars at Einstein’s in various cities over the years over 22 cents. By the way, I don’t work in the AT&T building, I don’t make a lot of money, and in this recession I consider GIVING22 cents away a problem for my budget. There are several places to get breakfast and coffee in downtown on the block where I work… Jason’s Deli, Starbucks, 7-eleven(who has GREAT coffee… by the way). I’ll be taking my few dollars to their shops every morning. Absolutely ridiculous.

Their bagels are THEBEST! I recommend getting a Blueberry bagel with regular cream cheese, keep it simple. They also have a great breakfast bagel sandwich thing and the thin bagel toasted ham and swiss. Just ask for a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast bagel. DELISH!
