Cool Cuts 4 Kids was the only place for me, but since Dora no longer works there its driving me crazy trying to find somebody that cares as much as Dora did for my kid hair cut! If someone knows any info on where she works please let me know???

I saw the reviews and was worried we’d have the same bad experiences. Having read one of the reviews suggesting we set our appointment with Dora, I called ahead of our boys’ appointments and requested her. We arrived at the time of our appointment on a Sunday and were taken at our appointment times with Dora. Great haircuts for both boys(4, 1) and out quickly. Cuts are reasonably priced under $ 20. Should be cheaper for an infant but no complaints. Turned out great. Very clean, great toy train set for waiting, if necessary. Highly recommend Dora.

I took my 6 year old son for a haircut this past Saturday. I had never been here and usually take my son to Groovy Cuts in McKinney. However, I was in the area, which happens to be a nice area of town, and my son loves to play video games as he gets his hair cut. The basic haircut costs $ 18.50. I figured I would get a quality job. The haircut was a hot mess and it was not apparent to me how bad it was until it dried completely and I got home. My son has straight black hair and it literally looks like someone took a pair of scissors and chopped it in straight diagonal lines at various random places. Some of the patches stand out more than others and are different in thickness and placement. I called the Manager and emailed her pictures. She absolutely apologized and said this was unacceptable. She mentioned that there looked like there was some room to fix it and offered to fix it. She also offered me a free hair cut in the future. In the end, she did comply with my wishes and had offered me a full refund. She mentioned that the person who cut my son’s hair is new and she is working with her.

I wish I had read these reviews before today. I will never go back to this place! I’ve been taking my two sons(4&2) to the Lovers Lane location for months. The service seems hit or miss. At times they have cut my son’s hair shorter than I wanted, but I decided maybe I wasn’t completely clear with my instructions. Today I was very clear and he came out with a buzz cut! The stylist asked me how I wanted my son’s hair cut. We have been growing it longer since fall and I was very clear that I wanted just a trim, mostly around his ears and in the front. I told her that it didn’t need a lot taken off, we just wanted to clean it up. She then asked me what number. I said what number for what? She said for the clippers on his hair. I told her that they don’t usually use clippers to cut his hair, they use scissors. She insisted that she must use clippers. I stepped away to check on my other son, when I came back, I could see my son’s skull she had cut it so short! She then proceeded to cut the top giving him uneven blunt cut bangs barely below his hairline. She cut one of his sideburns square and the other in a point. The hairline around his ears and his neck were jagged. If this had been my younger son I might have understood that she couldn’t get the line straight, but my older son was sitting perfectly still while she attempted to cut his hair. I could have given him a better cut with a flowbee! And the sad thing is, now we have to start over growing it out. We have had other experiences here that resulted in good haircuts, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk. Go somewhere else — for $ 20 surely someone out there can cut your kid’s hair the way you want.

I love Cool Cuts Dora is the best, she is friendly and nice and she also does an amazing haircuts. I’ve taken my son to Cool Cuts for the last 6 years and Dora has been the only one that has cut his hair because that’s who my son trust the most with his hair and the scissors and the clippers. I love Cool Cuts and they send out coupons for discounts on haircuts to your email if you sign up with the cashier…

Nothing annoys me more than when someone in this type of industry does not listen. I was very clear that I wanted my child’s hair barely trimmed and even showed a picture of my child with a fresh haircut from my regular salon. Did not matter. The stylist was going to to what she wanted to do like she was on autopilot and I was not even there. I am very unhappy and will never take my children to another«kids cuts» place again. It may cost more to go to a real salon, but I definitely learned my lesson that you get what you pay for this time.

Went here as a child. They always cut my hair way to short. One year so short that I looked like a boy. I never went back and I’m still scarred from it!

Agree with previous posts– Dora is the best! Cool Cuts for Kids takes walk-ins and appointments. Always seems clean and cheerful. The kids have a great time playing with toys while waiting their turn in the play area. Then, they can ride in a little car while getting their haircut! Great styles for all ages :)
