This location is not one of the good ones. I’ve been here a few times over the last few weeks hoping that I just stopped in on a bad day but unfortunately not. Everything is consistently over cooked. The chicken is dry and the rolls are always dark brown and dry instead of the golden and moist they are at most other locations. Chicken Express is generally one of my favorite lunch spots. The location in The Colony is always fantastic. And the radio system is always full of static!!!

How do you forget to make a large sweet tea??? Waited over 6 minutes for mine. Then when I told them it was ok, I was asked what did I order. This is very sad.

SLOWSLOWSLOWSLOWVERYYYSLOW! Just leave it at that! Has to be the slowest establishment I’ve ever been too. The workers are nice which is fine but there is a guarantee wait of at least twenty minutes!

Chicken express is pretty good. The fried gizzards and chicken strip combo is my favorite. I love the white gravy that comes with it. The mixed chicken here is pretty juicy and tender. Only complaint is that it’s super pricey compared to other chicken places. And spicy could be more spicy. Other than that, must at least try it once. Every employee that comes out to the car through drive through has been sweet and very professional.

Tenders are a little salty for my taste but I like the gravy, not too chunky and not too runny.

Food always hits the spot and they have a few cuties as carhops! Great smiles from the entire staff!

Very very slow. That’s all I have to say. The customer service is nice and friendly, but they need to hire more people or work that drive through system out! Because your order will be ready before the car in front of you and half the time the waitress will stand there asking the other car in front of you to pull around or asking what order they had, meanwhile your food is getting cold. Work it out chicken express. Work it out. I DONOTRECOMMENDDURINGLUNCHHOUR

We eat here more than I’d like to admit ;-) We normally go inside, but last night we went through the drive-thru. To keep it short, we watched our food come out and go back in 4 times(approx. 5 mins) before coming g to our car. When she got to out car, the drive-thru girl wasn’t sure if it was our food and what we had actually ordered, but wanted us to take it. My husband asked if it was our order and said he was concerned about the time it took to get it to us. She stated she didn’t know and had to give us that food or her manager would yell at her. We politely stated that we would not accept the food. We then pulled around to go in and discuss with the manager. We did not want FREE food, we just didn’t want the girl to get in trouble for bringing the food back in. We walked in, asked for the manager and the same girl tried to give us the same food from the drive-thru! We spoke to the manager and explained the situation. We ordered, paid and left with food. While the food was good, the service was lacking.

The food is ok. I will say that a large majority of the time the chicken in the tasting like liver and gizzards since they fry it all in the same oil and that turns me off. I think the chicken would be a lot tastier if they used to separate oil.

Chicken is super awesome, just not sure about the whole Express thing. A couple of times i got my food in under five minutes, and a couple of times i was waiting for close to 20 minutes. Not sure how 4 tenders takes a third of an hour, but oh well.

MSG!!! Stay away. Got so sick a couple of hours of eating this chicken. Talked with a manager of one of the franchises that explained to me that they use 5 lbs. of MSG to soak chicken overnight. This is ridiculous and needs to stop!

Visited this location twice in the past week. Ordered chicken tenders and fried okra both times. Both times, I only received chicken tenders. Incompetence at its finest. Good chicken though. If you do decide to visit this location, I would recommend limiting your order to one item. This seems to be all that the staff can handle as far as comprehension goes. The cooks do a good job however. The one item you do actually receive is usually pretty good.

This review for Midway/Frankfort, .Not one of the best franchisee in the chain. Specials vary by location. Manager at this location not customer service oriented. Requested tip on receipt. Tip solicited for fast food? Only location I’ve been to that does that.

I will admit, I’ve never tried their food. But I am a sweet tea addict, and theirs taste just like genuine Georgia sweet tea!

This was my first time here, and I have to say I totally plan to be back. I used to get my fried chicken fix from KFC or other chicken places, but I know where I’m going now. I had the 7 piece tenders, they were perfectly cooked, flaky and juicy. Mashed potatoes and gravy were great, the green beans just needed some salt. I asked the server if they had anything to spice it up, she gave me some seasoning packets. They were SUPER friendly, she even delivered my order to me as the 3 cars in front were ordering for multiple people. The only thing that kept them for a 5th star was the chicken wasn’t hot enough, yet it didn’t slow me down from devouring everything on the plate! I will definitely be back!

I think this was actually my first Chicken Express experience. I have driven by them for years. The inside was somewhat more sparse than I expected. The food was ok and the price was good. I wouldn’t stray away from Chicken Express, but there are also a number of fast food places that I would probably prefer to them. If you are craving fried chicken, it will fit the bill.

Let me say that I am a chicken nut. I love it ! This place is awesome ! I go there sometimes several times a week. The food is always wonderful and taste ver fresh and the staff is very nice and professional. I would recommend it to anyone and will continue to go here as long as I live in the area. Actually just typing about it is making my mouth water, I’m going there now.

Great for a fast relatively inexpensive meal for a family. Their chicken tenders are great and crispy, fried okra is the bomb, thats my favorite part. We dont have places like this in Hawaii so Chicken Express is always on my to do list when visiting family that live in the area. You get a lot of food for little money. The sweet tea is really sweet though so prepare yourself if your not used to southern sweet tea.

I live in the area and when I’m running errands I smell delicious chicken in the air. So one day I decided to stop by and try it out. Since I have heard good things about both their Chicken and fish, I ended up getting a piece of both, some fries, roll, and a drink. The chicken(breast) was sub-par. The skin was more brittle than crispy and not much flavor to it. The catfish was pretty solid. The fries were no big deal. I would recommend trying the catfish meals for sure, they are worthwhile.

Good fried chicken and their cat fish is great! The breasts and thighs at this place are HUGE!(On the chicken I mean… perverts) Wife likes the livers… yuck. Don’t order a jumbo drink unless you have a death wish! It is literally a JUG, not a glass.
