The flavor of the food is good, I had the chicken Panang curry. Seems like dishes are hit or miss with how much chicken you get, mostly miss. Call it Panang veggies with chicken bits. Hope you love rice, mine was over cooked and soggy, but soaked in sauce I was able to fill up on carbs, just what my fat ass needs, more carbs. I reluctantly went here again because they are the only game in oak cliff and they are convenient. A little competition and they would be gone.

Reviewing for 2 different orders. Ordered delivery once and the food was great! The battered fish with green curry appetizer was fantastic. Also very good Thai tea. But, I just called to deliver and was put on hold for 5 minutes then hung up on. Called back and was put on hold for a few minutes then someone came back on the line and put me on hold again. Oh well, great food if you can get through but bad service for delivery. Maybe adding online ordering like Eno’s or Zen would help. That being said I did end up getting Eno’s, gotta be able to take orders or the customer will go elsewhere.

Love this place especially considering they deliver and that is a rarity in my area of Oak Cliff. On days other than Monday’s, Chan Thai will let you combine order off their menu and Phở 88’s menu which is awesome. I always order the yellow curry which tastes great with the cashews and add on an order of Phở 88’s Spring rolls which are a tasty bargain based on their size. I can make 2 meals out of one very satisfying delivery and although they always state it will take 45+ minutes, I have never had to wait more than 35.

Great food and quick service. Minus a star because there is nowhere to park they don’t have their own lot. We came right before closing and they were nice about it and got our food fast. It was really good and the Thai tea was great too.

Lame. OK, first, the food: I ordered mussaman curry with chicken, as well as summer rolls. The summer rolls were adequate, but they contained what tasted like mediocre imitation crab meat, and the peanut sauce that they came with, while tasty enough, was also really oily. The chicken curry was terrible, with an oily, thin sauce and bland chicken. As for the service: I walked in and ordered my food to go. After the waitress took my order, that was the last I saw of her. About fifteen minutes later I saw a bag of food by the kitchen. I walked over and asked if it was mine; turns out it was. Good thing I decided to ask! If not, I would probably have had to wait even longer. I just moved to Oak Cliff and I was glad to find a Thai place close to where I live; now I’m hoping another business decides to give the area a try. Avoid this place.

I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here for lunch for years. Very good lunch specials, price is on par with what would be expected. I like everything I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a good portion of the menu. My dad says their fried rice is the best he’s ever had. I always leave satisfied.

Website is NOT up to date. My cousin & I went here hoping to take part in their happy hour special(which IS advertised on their website as «Bar at Bishop») and we disappointed when 3 employees did not know what we were talking about when we asked for their«bar». We got funny looks and shrugged shoulders. Finally an employee stepped up and pointed us to their«bar» and said they had drinks bit Not a «full bar» and apologized. I tried to clarify and referred to their website & they said that Pho88 took over about a yr & half ago… my cousin & I thanked them & quickly left(embarrassed). Note to establishment: PLEASE keep your website up to date!

I was in town visiting friends, we chose this location due to more vegetarian options for someone in our party. Great food. The quality and taste was very good and up to par with other places I’ve been in other states Not so great beer or drink selection. Our server was very dry.

It’s hard to find authentic Thai food south of the Trinity, and you may not find it here either. There are only a few decent options for Chinese as well. However, Chan Thai here in Bishop arts has some of the best sesame chicken I’ve ever had. So if you’re after a quick sesame chicken fix, try Chan Thai. I ordered the pad thai, sesame chicken and wonton soup. The soup had twice as many dumplings as any typical Chinese place I’ve been to, ever. The pad thai was just fine. But the sesame chicken is special: seems made from scratch with white meat, and is totally awesome. Chan Thai is now my go-to place for a sesame chicken fix.
Thankyou S.

They always say, judge a place by its restrooms. The first thing I do when I walk into any restaurant is wash my hands. If the restroom is not stocked with soap and paper towels… there is a big problem. Chan Thai and it’s neighboring Phở 88 have terrible restrooms. I would like to ask the owners if they would eat food at a restaurant where there is not a clean and well stocked restroom? Twice I have walked out without ordering due to the state of their restroom. Pro Tip — Restrooms without soap or hand towels equals bathroom bacteria getting into the food. Don’t eat here, unless you like Food Poisoning. Sadly, I have eaten here on good days before we started noticing the bathroom trend. Food is barely edible. Good Thai food is plentiful in Dallas, unfortunately Chan Thai is an exception. I am shocked that people like this place. If it weren’t for its convenience, I doubt that it would have stayed open at all. The food is bad. The service is also bad.

I have been eating for a while. And have never had a problem but lately I have been noticing a decrease in quality. Last time I got pad Thai and it was over cooked and was just not up to the quality I have come to expect. Previously this has been some of the best thai food I’ve had. Again today, I ordered another of my usual dishes, the green curry, and it had so much oil in it that the texture was inedible after a while. I ate only half before having to throw the rest out. Please go back to cooking the normal high quality thai food that I used to get

Pros — lunch specials, good portion, good flavor, prompt service Cons — service with a smile would be good, hard to find location as they do not have any sign. Went there for lunch and ordered curry with tofu which was tasty.

fried rice was good. I was very disappointed with the corn patties though. they are usually my favorite part of ordering Thai food but these were terrible!

So this is an update. I really liked this place the first time I came here. But it doesn’t seem like the same place. My wife’s order was extremely oily. She had a noodle dish and I had a curry dish. Mine was just awful. I don’t think we will be back. Sorry Chan Thai — I wanted it to work out.

I sat outside on the patio, weather was beautiful today! I recommend the peanut sauce chicken and spring rolls. Service was a bit slow, but our waiter was friendly and attentive.

one main word really… disgusting. I’ve had food at the restaurant and I’ve had delivery. The experience eating in was better then what I had by delivery or they would be down to one star. Crab pot stickers were ICE cold on delivery and the inside smelled like they were bad. I threw them right in the trash. I ordered the pad Thai extra hot… I don’t know what they put on it, but it changed the Styrofoam to red… like they coated it with dry cayenne pepper? That is NOT how this should be properly made. The food I had dining in was really lack luster and so not worth a return visit. I feel like whoever is cooking just doesn’t know anything about Thai food or spices! I’d rather eat cardboard… This is so disappointing to me since Thai is one of my favorite cuisines and these people delivery.

Great food, my boss often gets delivery. However, PLEASESTOP placing piping hot egg rolls in the styrofoam to-go container. They melt into the bottom of the container and no one wants to eat an egg roll with styrofoam infused into it. Yuck. This has happened twice now. Next time I will ask them to put it in a foil container. This should be common sense. As for the food, it’s awesome. Tastes great, for a good price. Delivery often takes a long time, but worth the wait and the food always arrives fresh and hot. Super nice delivery guy, too. Give him good tips!

I love Chan Thai! The food is flavorful, plentiful & classic Thai. The service is always friendly, and it’s open on Mondays, which in Bishop Arts, doesn’t seem to be the norm. I like the pineapple fried rice & the pad prig khing, but it’s all good. And the prices are reasonable. What’s not to love?

A small restaurant tucked away in Oak Cliff. The façade is less impressive than the interior, which is nicely updated, clean and modern. The restaurant is divided into two spaces, one of which is open during the day and consists mainly of four tops. Lunch-time is particularly busy, so be prepared for a wait. Service is fantastically friendly. The prices are fair and portions are appropriate. Parking: large private lot Food: the massaman curry and the corn patties are incredible!

If there were to ever be a massive hipster-overload-meltdown-apocalypse in Bishop Arts, Chan Thai would still be left standing. I’ve been stopping in Chan Thai since I first moved to Dallas in 2004. There’s nothing like Thai dishes the size of a hubcap to fill your tummy. When everything else in the neighborhood is booked out the door, I can always fall back on a big bowl of Wonton soup and Thai Peanut Chicken. Don’t expect an über-authentic Thai experience but that’s not why I come here. It’s all about the friendly service, wallet friendly prices, generous portions, and the yummy Thai-esque dishes.
