I am so bummed this place closed. It was definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. They had an incredible vegetarian salad bar. The oven baked fresh pita bread was the best I have ever had. I went there to celebrate my last birthday with friends, I liked the food so much! Ah well, guess nothing in life is forever!

I just drove by there. I had a major craving. There were movers outside who let me know this location had closed down. Bummer. I REALLY enjoyed the food at Cedars. The movers told me there is another location in Frisco. That’s too far for me. I hope Cedars will consider opening another restaurant in Dallas.

Great food at a very reasonable price. I will definitely want to come back! Vegan would go nuts at veggies buffet here. The steak buffet was a little bit dry though.

Went for the first time last night, with my wife and son. We’re big fans of Fadi’s and the old Ali Baba’s in Lakewood(R.I.P.) and we’re always looking for more Mediterranean options. My wife had the vegetarian feast(unlimited salad bar) while my son and I both ordered the Cedars Special(unlimited salad bar plus a meat entrée) with baked Red Snapper. We were all very pleased with the food. I’d put the quality a bit higher than Fadi’s. Giving 4 stars as it is a little on the pricey side(it was $ 53 including tip for the 3 of us), and there weren’t any dessert options included with the vegetarian feast. I’d love to see a refreshing kheer(rice pudding) offered in the salad bar. But, with the quality of food and the pleasant atmosphere we are looking forward to going back and introducing more people to Cedars.

First time here. Wanted something that was pretty healthy. Guess what, I found it. Got the falafal plate which was truly amazing. I will definitely return just to try and sample everything on the menu at least once.

This was my first all you can eat meditrranean restaurant. i have read about Afrah’s and would have much rather went there. Here at this place NO meat is on the bar during lunch i dont think it would be for dinner either. You have to pay separately for your meat. The bar was clean plenty of salads and sauces and hummus, its a vegetarian“s dream palace i’m sure but i like meat. The salads were good and fresh, i did order Chicken Shwarma i wasnt impressed the chicken had lots of flavor but kind of dry but my daughter had the Lamb it was really good. The bar had two types of rice and they had breads. The bar is 11.99 just for the salad, to add my meat it was 14.99 all together but at Afrah i read for 11.99 you get all your meats at the bar with the salads. Next time because of price because aint nobody in my camp rich, i2m going to Afrah where I’ll get a better deal. This was a free meal for me by my daughter so i wont complain too much. Oh the place is clean and spacious and they are quick bringing out your meat. Our waiter was awesome in keeping our glasses filled with water. They had plenty of parking i didnt see TV’s i dont knowvif they had Wi-Fi or not but i think they did yes they can take large groups and its kid friendly

Had average expectations for Cedars after being a loyal Fadis and Ali Babas/Terra’s customer for years — but they still let me down. For the«buffet» you order 1 meat and then have unlimited veggies but nothing looked appetizing. I ordered the lamb plate but they were out. Ordered lentil soup, also out. Settled for the beef shawarma which was really bland. Ordered a Diet Coke and when the server brought me a Coke I said I had ordered a Diet, she raised her voice and said«No! You said Coke!» Didn’t think it was worth raising your voice over — kind of weird. Won’t be going back. There are significantly better options in the area.

Nothing in this restaurant is authentic. I don’t understand all the good reviews on the place. If you are looking for high quantity to price ratio, then you come to the right place. ~$ 11 gives you a big plate of food. I give the restaurant 2 stars for the food and 4 stars for the service. I ordered lamb kabob platter. The hummus was delicious but that’s the only positive thing on my plate. The lamb was tasteless, dry and over cooked. In fact, I wasn’t sure if that was really lamb meat. The salad is lightly coated with Caesar salad dressing. Yew~~~ Why complicate the salad, what’s wrong with just olive oil and lemon juice? The rice tasted spoiled. First, the rice tasted like Jasmine rice and looked broken. It smelled like frozen cooked rice got defrosted and was left in the fridge for days before it turned color and mixed with lemon juice. How about some fluffy basmati rice? Since there were no pickles on my plate and someone at our table complained about the hummus being too sour, the waitress brought a plate of pickles and a different hummus. $ 11 for a plate of below mediocre food. I won’t come here for a second time.

Great lunch. Stopped by and had the Lamb Pita with humus and a drink. The meal also came with 2 big pita bread puffs. They were hot and went so well with the hummus. All for $ 11:58 and with tip still under 15 bucks. Yes!!!

Literally every vegetarian’s dream. Even if you’re not a vegetarian, you’ll love this place. If you’ve ever been to whole foods prepared foods section and ordered any of their vegetarian dishes that you can buy by the pound, Cedars serves the same type of wide variety that is just as tasty and delicious. It’s the same kind of quality food, but even better because it’s all-you-can-eat! Since this was my first time eating here, I had the meat(chicken) + vegetarian buffet option. However, that was way too much food because there was so much to choose from in their vegetarian buffet, so by the time my chicken came, I was already full. If you pay for just«vegetarian buffet»(no additional meat), it also comes with a side of falafel. And with a wide array of salads, dips, cold dishes, hot dishes, and even soups, you will definitely feel satisfied and full, and in a good way! The only downside about my experience was that I came with a large party(one large check), and the lady at the cashier messed up our order so we were waiting and waiting for our meat dishes that never came. Fortunately, our server was very understanding and courteous and helped us fix the issue.

3 star for good flavor and none for customer service. They had a bigger from 8:30 pm — 9:30 pm and stopped refilling food at 9:10, as if it’s a first come first serve. We ordered À la carte fries to try with there garlic sauce which was too creamy and not what what we were expecting. We went to get more food from the buffet, when we came back the fries were gone. They cleaned up our table except the silverware that means they knew we were coming back! We were charged for drinks by the lady at the cashier, but she never asked if we wanted drinks or not. We found out from the receipt later. Why she thought she could just decide for us, no clue! Probably won’t go back. Even though food was flavorful, customer service ruined the experience.

As promised in my previous review, the Lebanese kebab was more juicy and tender today, so four stars it is! The fish dish from my previous visit wasn’t available, but there was still a decent selection of vegetables. I used my kebab to make a gyro this time, and it was delicious. Be advised that they DO have my beloved red pepper sauce(shatta, sambal, whatever you want to call it), but you have to ask them for it. It does go great on the gyro. Definitely try this place if you’re a vegetable lover, but if you want half a dozen different meat based dishes, this isn’t the place.

Great for lunch! Food is always fresh and the quality and flavors are great. Good quality overall all but food is fresher during the week and during lunch time.

I absolutely love this place and have been here several times. I have nothing but excellent things to say about the food, however, i feel like there’s a problem with the consistency of how food is prepared. It’s always good, but sometimes it’s out of this world. On more than one occasion the gyro meat has been really dry like it’s sat around all day. While still packed full of flavor, I wish more attention was paid to this. Sometimes when I’ve ordered the rosemary grilled chicken the piece is huge and served on a fluffy bed of rice. Then sometimes it is a tiny little thing with no rice. They have some delicious diced potatoes and sometimes they’re tender and amazing, but this last time they were like hard rubber and could barely chew them. Staff is for the most part friendly and it’s always clean. I love going there, but I always prepare myself that it may not be like it was last time. Some things of note: they have amazing tabouleh and baba ganoush.

Quality is word that comes to mind. The salad bar buffet is top notch so if you like to eat your veggies, this is the place for you! You can add a single meat item for an additional charge bringing your lunch total to $ 15 with tax before tip. The meat is not all you can eat but the portion size is healthy. I got the lamb gyro meat and with all the veggies, I could only finish about half of it so took the rest home. Other meat options like the fish or lamb skewers are not as large though. As far as Mediterranean buffets, I’d rate the salad bar portion as the best the in area but overall, I still prefer Ali Baba because all the meats are included with the buffet and I like meat smörgåsbord. 4 stars!

We’re regulars for lunch at Texas de Brazil on Fridays, but today we wanted to try something different. Cedars Mediterranean Mezza & Grill was perfect for that. If you like Mediterranean buffets, this is a great option. I had the salad buffet and the Beef Shawarma. Large portions, great taste and friendly service. What’s not to love? Have a great weekend and Bön Appetite.

Cedars Med is a cornucopia of fresh, healthy Med goodness. For me, the total experience blows aways Fadi’s, and soundly beats Kalachandji’s in every way except K’s charming outside dining terrace. Although we sprung the extra $ 3 to get a meat protein(baked snapper and lamb schwarma, both plentiful and succulent) with our veggie buffet, it was completely unnecessary, as there were plenty of cheese and seafood(paella) proteins on the buffet. All buffet items were bursting with freshness and flavor– I got a bit of everything, and left stuffed and oh so satisfied. Bring your own wine or beer here, and enjoy it with your meal for no extra house charge. Service is eager to please, and errs on the side of being unobtrusive– just ask for whatever you need. I love this place, and we will be back soon.

The ONLY thing that kept this from being a five-star review is that they are a little heavy-handed with the salt. A quick summary of the premise. The foundation is a giant, giant vegetarian bar. I think it is something like $ 12 for unlimited trips. It has, bread, zataar pies, a cheesy bread thing, greek salad, hummus, babaganoush, tabouli, cucumber and tomato salad, a lentil dip, a chickpea salad, a wonderful mint and cabbage salad, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, little mini wedge salads, rice… and so much more. Then you can choose to add a meat entrée, beef, chicken, lamb, etc. for another $ 5 or so. The meat comes on rice. Other than that, there are a couple of different sandwiches and plates that don’t include the vegetarian bar, but put those out of your mind. The AYCE veggie bar is the way to go. When I read the reviews that recommended that ordering a meat entrée was not necessary, I didn’t believe it. «But I love kebab,» I thought. Listen to me… you do not need a meet entrée. There are more than enough options on the vegetarian bar. The meat almost seemed like an afterthought. YUM!

My wife dragged me to Cedars for months whenever she craved Mediterranean food. She enjoys coming to this place much more than I do. My experience so far with this restaurant is mediocre. For the last three times, I tired to order chicken kebab and each of those times they sold out and I ended up ordering chicken shawarma as of a second choice. The chicken was a bit dry and salty. I was never able to finish one third of the plate because of that reason. On a positive note, their portion is rather large and you wouldn’t be leaving hungry for hours. My father in-law ordered the buffet and he had roasted chicken with tomato and rice. I tasted his plate and the chicken was much better than my chicken shawarma. It was juicier and less salty. I know what I will be ordering next time when my wife drags me here.

So many Med/Middle East restaurants only one tummy and so little time and money. How to choose??? I love Mediterranean food! Although I thought this was a bit pricey compared to Ali Baba’s lunch buffet. There were dishes and flavors that I had not experienced. I really liked the fusion of several different Mediterranean dishes. All of the vegetable dishes were not only pleasing to the eye but delicious. I suspect that they change out their vegetable dishes on different nights because there are some things mentioned in other Unilocal reviews, specifically roasted cauliflower, that were not available on the night I was there. So it would be worth coming back often to experience more dishes. The place is comfortable, well decorated and interestingly has a huge mural of Flamenco Dancers on the back wall. I found that curious since I live in Spain for three and a half years.
