Less than expected experience. 6:10 — The greeting for our 615 reservation was«we have a table but will you be done by 730?» That doesn’t sound welcoming. It’s akin to asking a visiting relative when they are leaving even before they set their luggage down. To add insult to injury, a 6:30 reservation(same size party) that came in after us was seated before us and at a better table. Our waiter was adequate. Forgot a few things [water, bread(asked three times), extra napkins]. But overall, pleasant and accommodating. The food was good. However, it was overpriced(especially the appetizers). I say overpriced because for an additional $ 25 – 30 more for our group of four persons and you have the total on your bill from a typical Dallas foodie establishment filled with top notch service and food. Would not recommend this eatery mostly for the pricing. Less for the inadequately trained front staff. For the pricing, one would expect courteous staff throughout, clean seats(there were crumbs), appropriately spaced reservations. Frankly, I am puzzled why this restaurant has not closed down. Dallas is an extremely competitive city restaurant wise.

Food was fine but service was horrendous! I’m guessing our waitress was a first timer. We never got water. We finally get our drinks and the waitress asks how everything is tasting. Well, you just handed us drinks so unless we are chewing on napkins then we don’t know yet. Our appetizer came out after our main course and only after we reminded her about it. We ordered dessert and then waited, waited, waited. When we finally got our cannoli we had to ask for a box to go because we were going to miss our next commitment. As we left we overheard our same waitress apologizing to the table next to us so I have to wonder if there were problems in the kitchen, too?

I recommend the tomato basil soup !!! However the staff is terrible.. the servers take forever and most of the time they don’t know anything … The vibe here is ok … it’s kind of like little Italy at home You can eat in the kitchen which is kinda cool And this place can get pricey !!!

My family had my mom’s birthday birthday party here and it was the last time we eat here! We had a party of 13 and spent quite a bit for our food that was not very good. The fettuccine Alfredo supremo was bland and very dry! We ordered additional Alfredo sauce and was charged for it… not much flavor either! Then our waitress was a no show several times! For the price we will not go back! Do not waste your money! My husband says my Alfredo is much better and flavorful!!!

My daughter has an unreasonable attachment to the fettuccine Alfredo and the Parmesan Chicken which I can only explain by saying that she was raised in Dallas. She likes to drag us to dinners here where we can meet her boyfriend of the month and pick up the check. The food is better than Chef Boyardee, but not by much.(Don’t think of that as a criticism! There are worse things than Chef Boyardee at your supermarket! If you don’t believe me, think about eating canned ham with maraschino cherries or powered mashed potatoes. You see where I am going with this, right?) The ambience tries really hard to be «authentic Italian,» but comes off a little closer to «crammed into a theme restaurant at an amusement park.» It’s always overcrowded, and it helps to have a reservation. Hey, I like it better than a cafeteria. And it’s open on holidays.

Let me backtrack my previous review, I do remember why I stopped coming to Buca. When we came in were ignored by a couple of servers that simply looked our way and kept walking(okay, maybe they were busy.) After about 6 – 7 minutes of waiting, a server told us to pick whatever table we wanted and she would bring us some menus. Easy enough, we did and we waited for the menus. And we waited. And we waited. I have the worst habit of turning on the timer on m phone from the moment I sit down to the moment I am greeted by a server, they don’t have to take my order, a simple«Hi i’ll be right with you.» usually does it. I understand servers get busy, I’ve been a server before, I get it, you can’t be 10 places at once. However, we waited about 15 minutes before my fiancé walked over to the host stand and asked if we had a server and if we could have some menus. The hostess had no idea that we were sitting there and when she asked why we had picked that table we informed her that someone had told us to pick a seat. Eventually(5 minutes after that) a server came by and took our drink order but told us the bartender would actually be taking care of us. After the drinks came and we ordered our food, we were very disappointed with the cold bread that was given to us, the food wasn’t great, and overall I wish I could give this place 0 stars but I can’t. This location seriously lacks what the Plano location possesses. It took me 8 years to come back last time, I don’t think I’ll ever come back.

My family and I went to Bucca di Beppo for Christmas dinner this year(2015). We were thankful that they were open on the holiday, but were utterly disappointed with the service. We’d made a reservation in advance, but despite that, we weren’t seated for at least 45 minutes after our reservation time. Once we were seated, it seemed like it took years for the waiter to come back to even collect our drink orders, and then another decade passed before we got to order our food. Definitely, the restaurant was very busy, so I can understand that things would be delayed, but the delays were excessive. The food was alright. The best dish was the pizza… But the pastas were underwhelming. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend going to Bucca di Beppo on a busy holiday, unless you have all the time in the world.

Bad Experience. 50min waiting for our food(pizza and pasta) and the waiter just told us that they don’t have enough dough for the pizza!!#%# Really??? This is supposed to be a TOP Recognized Italian restaurant, and they don’t have enough pizza dough!!! Amazing… Maybe if I call Dominos I can help. Plates were dirty too… The manager offered free«dessert» but not for everybody… It was a terrible 1 hour and 20 min experience! I am not coming back and it is not recommended!

I will start off by saying, at least the food was hot! Our waitress was horrific. It took over an hour to get served BUT at least the food was hot. We had to ask for bread along with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, asked more than once for to-go containers, and repeatedly asked for water refills, BUT at least the food was hot! Needless to say, there was no monetary tip left and I refuse to return to this establishment!

Seriously disappointed in our experience here last night. The bartender was incredibly rude to us, refused to make eye contact, never said thank you even though we spent over $ 70 at the bar. Terrible beer selection. Service was extremely lazy. It seems like they have food runners but no bussers. Plates just piled up on our already crowded table and staff kept walking by and actively ignoring the piles of dirty plates. Our food started arriving before our drinks… which is a little annoying. Last but not least, the food was utter crap. Cheese in mozzarella sticks wasn’t fully melted, salad tasted like red onion and nothing else, pasta was incredibly under sauced and the meatballs had no flavor whatsoever. People love this place because of the decorations. That’s all it really has to offer.

Way overpriced. $ 13.99 for a small salad? A bunch of very young adults work there… they have no etiquette for waiting tables at an establishment priced like this. My waiter CHANGEDTHETIPAMOUNTONMYRECEIPT from a 7 to a 9 just to score 2 more dollars on an already over 20% tip that I left, despite the mediocre service. It’s a shame but this place just isn’t a nice place anymore…

Yesterday we redeemed a gift card for Buca di Beppo that we received. We walked in to a relatively empty restaurant, past a few un-bused tables and were promptly led to our booth by a bubbly hostess. Our waiter was helpful, polite and offered some suggestions about the menu. There are funky, eclectic vintage images mismatched along the walls, red checkered tablecloths throughout and paper placemats at each setting. We were served warm baked bread alongside oil and balsamic vinegar. We skipped the appetizers and went straight for the family-sized serving of the spicy chicken pasta. It was surprisingly better than I anticipated. Overall, we had a solid experience. Nothing that wowed me, but nothing to prevent me from returning at another time if I happen to be nearby.

Good baked Ziti & chopped Italian Salad(lunch portions) my wife and I shared. Funky décor and a decent lunch menu. Seems that dinner is a family — style operation. We took 1⁄3 of the Ziti home.

The place is very interesting. Random photos and things placed throughout the restaurant. Lots of clutter, but it keeps your eyes entertained. The reason they scored lower in my book? Cleanliness. The first instance was walking through the kitchen. It was a mess. Things all over the floor and counters, the bathroom was horrific and the general feeling of dirt succumbs you as you sit and glance around. I barely ate as I was thinking about it all. Our server was nice, but a hooker off Harry Hines is cleaner than this place.

Decent Italian food. Can’t order a lot of different dishes because portions are large. Restaurant encompasses family style dining. I love their calamari and Shrimp Diablo. Oh, and if you have room, order their brownie. It’s yummy & massive! We(3 adults) can never finish it.

I am not a fan of Italian food especially pasta… but I was dragged here by my friend, so might as well order something I’m familiar with… I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. It was a huge dish, maybe for 2 – 3 people. On top of the spaghetti, there was 2 half pound meatball. Half pound! It was the size of my fist or bigger. The spaghetti was nicely coated… but it was too salty… we didn’t know whether or not it’s the recipe or they gave us the bottom of the pot where most of the flavor settles. Needless to say, we did not enjoy our meal. I did like the meatballs though. but it wasn’t enough to mask the saltiness.

I swear this weekend was the weekend of weird restaurant experiences. And Bucca di Beppo was no exception. A few weeks prior to VDay, I made a reservation for 8pm thinking the crowd would die down and we’d get to hang out for a while. Boy was I wrong! We walked in to a crowded hostess stand where an exhausted hostess poked her head up from her nap to welcome us. Just a couple minutes later, a frantic and sweaty man hollered out my name and we were escorted through the kitchen to our weird little afterthought of a table. We sat at the end of a row with about 6 inches of space between us and the diagonal table next to us. Whatever! We hunkered down and started looking at the menu. Our server appeared quickly and got our drink orders. She also brought us out some bread and came back a few minutes later to take our appetizer order. Now… this entire process could have been 5 minutes or it could have been 25. We were so distracted by the incessant«can I speak to a manager» ringing through the air like mockingjays that I lost all track of time. Suddenly, our server appeared again and we placed our entrée orders. Away she went and we were back to the disorienting haze of kitschy wall art and mockingjay requests. Eventually, our food arrived but our appetizer did not. We told the manager not to worry about it(he was the runner too — poor dude) but he brought it out anyway and took it off our total bill. Overall, the food was meh(we’d eaten at a much nicer italian restaurant the night before). But those poor, poor servers. We left our girl a hefty tip and by the end of the meal, I wanted to hand out hugs Oprah-style. I’m taking it all with a grain of salt knowing we’re likely not to return.

It’s like going to Sam’s Club for dinner. Portions are huge so u end up ordering and paying for way more than u need. Food quality is mediocre and not worthy of pricing but service is good and place is fun so I would go back … with a coupon. I do want to note that the chopped salad is excellent, overpriced but excellent.
