My last review was glowing. I used them for box lunches to serve at Dr’s offices for over 2 years. This new review can be summed up simply by saying that what a business does when it makes a mistake is the most important factor in customer service… as mistakes are bound to happen. When I pick up the lunches, I am in a hurry. I grab the bags they give me and take out the door to the Dr’s offices. It is always an order for the Dr as well as all their staff and interns. 2 orders ago, they left out all of the salads, which were requested by the Dr. Upon arriving at the Dr’s office and unpacking, I realized they the salads were not in there. I called Beyond the Box, they said that they had accidentally shelved our salads instead of giving them to me. They said it would take an hour to get them to me, but lunch started in 15 min. It took them 45 min to get the replacement salads to the Dr’s office. I was happy to see that they were recognizing and addressing their mistake. The following week I had another order to pickup for another Dr’s office. After finishing that lunch, when I was filing the bill, I noticed a $ 25 charge for delivery. I always pick up our lunches. I believe the delivery charge is for the delivery to correct their error. I wrote the company explaining how they had messed up recent orders and had charged me a delivery fee to fix their mistake. I was expecting them to refund the money and apologize. It has been over a month and I have received no reply. We have stopped using them. In our first order with Panera we realized that the quality was FAR better for only $ 1.50 more. The sandwiches and bread are much better, the cookie is bigger, delivery is inexpensive enough to use($ 15), and the boxes make a much better impression. We will be trying out other caterers.

So let’s chat about Beyond the Box. Overall it’s not a bad spot. Crazy convenient to my office so I usually go for breakfast and lunch. The prices aren’t bad and the food quality is great. Usually after 5pm they offer 15% discount on all the food in the counter and on Fridays after 3pm all the food is like 30% off as they clear out for the week. You can custom order your sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Also do tacos, wraps, etc. They have a custom order sandwich special with a soup or small deli side and tea for $ 8.50. Also a chicken main entrée and two sides for $ 7.50 I think. Don’t quote me. It’s located inside republic center on the first floor next to Advancial Credit Union. You can enter from inside republic center or the street. It’s kind of tight in there where it’s busy so be aware. Oh yeah they turned the frozen yogurt bar into a soup bar so you can make your own soup with a chicken or veggie broth. Here’s the problem: customer service. The ladies in the morning are usually epic and friendly. The manager he’s okay but always in the way. Will walk right in front of you multiple times and not speak nor say excuse me. The younger red head girl with the bob hair cut, well she’s hit or miss. Spends a lot of time on personal conversations while at work and customers wait. Not cool. If they can fix these simple issues they easily would be 4 stars but how you treat customers is everything. If it wasn’t so convenient I would go elsewhere and lately because of these little things I have been venturing out. But great food and the salads are great!

I found this by accident and confirmed with my coworkers that this place is excellent. The food is fresh with a great selection. I even used them for catering a business luncheon since I work across the street. Give it a try you won’t be sorry. By the way, there is no seating that I’m aware of and it’s strictly a «grab & go» place.

Omg I love this place. Their premade salads are awesome(its not just lettuce) and there are many to choose from. They have chicken breast, salmon and fresh veggies you can heat up and theyre delicious and healthy. Prices are very reasonable. They also have a soup bar where you can put whatever you want into a cup and they poor broth over it. Favorite lunch spot for sure.

I love this place. I work down the street and come here all the time for a healthy meal. I usually do the lunch special where you get two sides with a grilled chicken breast. It’s always delicious. I’ve also gotten their salads which are always fresh!

These breakfast tacos are legit. What can I say; I’m always impressed with their quality of ingredients and wonderful flavor. If tortillas aren’t your thing their breakfast egg bowls are amazing. The lunch options are pretty damn good too. If you want a sandwich or soup then they have you covered. Also they have an amazing assortment to partake in their prepared sections.

Had lunch here last Wednesday day and ordered the chef salad. Salad was good. Large salad with house vinaigrette. Comes with ham, Turkey, grapes, bacon, and feta cheese. Everything came together nicely. Would order this again.

My salad was awesome and just what I needed at only $ 6.50 which is a great price for lunch in the city. The workers where also really helpful when I was trying to figure out a good salad dressing. I suggest the herbed balsamic!

Great neighborhood find. They have ready made wraps and salads. Or you can get something a little more fancy, like baked chicken. They even have a small selection of beer and wine. The place is small and the line to pay can get a little crazy at lunch time so get there early.

when you think salads, quick lunch, fast lines, this is where you go if you’re downtown. it even connects to the tunnels if you’re craving other stuff. they have about 10 different salads that are more than enough to keep you full, not to mention the assortment of dressings to top off your green. atop of that, they have an a la carte lunch section where they do lunch specials for an entrée and two sides for 7 bucks. this is the most reasonably priced salad place in the area and there’s plenty enough selection that you won’t get bored of your food. they also have a beer and wine section, if you need something also. 5 stars on a lunch review.

This small downtown gem has so much to offer! I read all the good reviews and had to check it out. When you walk in, it will give you the neighborhood convenience store feel. Coffee is set up on the against the back wall. Beer waiting for you in the nearby refrigerated shelves. Next to the beer are chips and other snacks, then keep going and you’ll find breakfast items, nut butters, bagels, muffins, and beverages. The main attractions are in the middle where you can create your own plate or pick up salads, sandwiches, wraps, or desserts. I liked the apple cinnamon oatmeal and plain bagel. I really, really loved the daily special which is a choice of chicken breast along with two small sides. I’ve had the Cajun and Provencal chicken and tried the cranberry wild rice, honey thyme mixed veggies, penne pasta salad, and fennel artichoke salad. All amazingly good! It’s such a simple concept with so much to offer. Healthy options with so much flavor!

I felt like I needed to check out Beyond the Box since it’s close to my office and noticing the raving reviews. Republic Tower is kind of a big place, so I had a hard time finding the shop. After wandering around a bit, I found a doorway propped open with a handwritten signboard — voila! Beyond the Box. It’s small inside, but packed with lots of choices. I found the flow to be somewhat confusing. I wasn’t sure where to go and what my choices were. Simple signage could go a long way. If I hadn’t read the reviews, I wouldn’t have realized that the sandwich bar was a sandwich bar. But aesthetics aside, the food is really super and a great value. I was totally impressed with the variety of salad dressings offered — and I wasn’t locked into a certain type of dressing for the salad I selected for the day. I’ll probably go back for lunch again. It’s a quick walk from my office and a great value for what you’re getting, plus it’s flavorful. And now that I know what I’m looking for, I should be able to save myself 5 minutes of wandering around an office lobby.

I love this little place. Yes, people have a lot to say about the size, but it is bigger than a food truck. If you work downtown and are looking for a place with healthy options, go here! You can have wraps and meals made to order(think Whole Foods Prepared section), or they have items ready to grab like salads(large around $ 7) and wraps($ 7). You can also get sides of fruit, veggies, boiled eggs, and they have drinks. There are a few tables, as well as a few stools at the front.

With the advent of beach body training season, this tiny deli in the 1950s mod aluminum Alcoa building downtown delivers what no one else in the neighborhood does — fresh steamed vegetables like asparagus and broccoli, fresh fruit, and boiled eggs. For around $ 7 I can imbibe in healthy carbs and follow my strict diet, despite the lack of a local grocery store. Weekday hours only with limited seating, four tables outside and a small stool seating counter inside, this tiny place also offers prepackaged salads, yogurt, and heartier deli meals like fried chicken, and chicken parmigiana. The hot entrees aren’t gourmet but everything is made in house. Most things are fresh but due to the fickleness of office workers, some things tend to set longer, so choose your vices carefully. I believe this place caters. The homemade salsa is really good. I always buy a small cup and douse my eggs with it.

Disappointed in my Strawberry«Shortcake» order last week. The Vanilla Sponge Cake was dry and not very spongy, it was filled with Strawberry Mousse but the filling was tasteless, Strawberry Compote and Fresh Strawberries were there in name only. I ordered it for a birthday party and everyone including the birthday girl let me know NOT to ever order it again.

Decent salads, sandwiches and wraps if you need something quick at lunch. This is more of a take and go type of establishment. It’s not mind blowing but it’s ok if you are in a hurry. I wouldn’t seek this place out unless you are already in downtown and within a block of it. It’s not worth it otherwise.

After Kristi N and myself couldn’t find our original intended lunch venue(Google Maps was wrong!), we decided to pop into Beyond the Box instead for our regular Tuesday lunch. We walked in from the Republic Tower lobby and immediately, I was overwhelmed by the huge variety of a la carte items that they feature here. I ended up ordering three small sides and a bottled water for just under $ 8. Not a bad deal for a fresh lunch Downtown! The pasta salad and veggies were good, and the quesadilla was so-so. On the plus side, I left full and satisfied. My biggest issue with this place is that it’s very poorly laid out and very much on the unorganized spectrum of things. It’s a small space so I can tell they are working with what they got. In the end, I really wanted to give Beyond the Box 4 stars but they just weren’t there. The disorganized store and boring staff were holding me back. It’s a good lunch stop to grab something fresh to go but I wasn’t blown away.

This is the best lunch option I’ve found in my time working Downtown. I am in L-O-V-E with this place! The food is insanely delicious and relatively healthy. The SOB(sex on the beach) Chicken Salad will make you want to slap your mama and the hot options are abundant and fresh. I came out of here for under $ 6 and couldn’t be happier. If you’re looking for fresh food that won’t break the bank, come to BTB for some green love.

I’ve been coming here for almost ten years and live in the building the store is in. I want to give this place more stars, because in theory, it’s so nice to have around, but it’s declined in quality lately and has fallen below average over the last two months. The food is healthy, the selection of drinks is good, and the staff is efficient. Unfortunately, the attitude of the staff leaves something to be desired. It’s the only place I can think of where you are not greeted walking in the door. It doesn’t seem like the openers enjoy coming into work so early(can’t say I blame them), and are usually camped out in the back, making the place seem unoccupied at times. The store manager is a bit of a grouch. The selection of food has not changed at all in ten years. Seems to me to be a bit overpriced, especially considering that the menu was designed in the early 2000s. Salads can be wilted on the bottom, so be sure to inspect them carefully. Remember, you’re at a deli/convenience store, not a real kitchen, and your expectations will be properly set. Unsold food can be had at the end of the week for half price, between 3−5PM on Friday. Beyond the Box is a great concept, but the execution is getting tired(literally, the workers seem exhausted) at this location and it’s time for an update. New menu items, new attitude and perhaps new management are needed to make this place seem fresh and inviting again.

Beyond the Box?! More like Beyond frickin’ amazing! Not only is the food spectacular, it is *GASP* pretty healthy for you! The place is full of hot and cold gourmet options. Salads, cold pastas, salmon, couscous, veggies, lamb shanks, etc. Everything is prepared fresh daily and the variety is completely bananas! I My personal favorite is a barbeque pasta dish. Who knew that unqiue twisted combo could work so well together?! The prices are pretty cheap. And if you are really looking for even more of a discount, I suggest going on a Friday afternoon(after 3pm) or before 11am on weekdays because they offer 50% off all chef-prepared items. The place is cute and clean inside. And although there is limited seating inside and outside, it is more of a takeout spot than anything. Beyond the Box is well worth going out of your way to try. I only wish there were more locations available. Unless you work downtown, it can be a bit of a pain in the arse to find parking.
