This was our first visit to the Americano restaurant located inside the Joule Hotel. We had reservations for 745 on a Saturday and they were packed full of people, we were seated right away but the ones that did not have reservations had to wait quite a while. I definitely recommend making reservations if your going on a weekend. The atmosphere is very nice and seating is quite comfortable. We ordered the olive and cheese platter for an appetizer it was plenty for 2 people and delicious. For my entrée I ordered the butternut squash tortilini it was fabulous but I recommend spending the extra money and getting the large portion, it’s not that large and it’s so good you will wish you had ordered a bigger portion. We ordered tiramisu to go for dessert and that also was a winner! It was soooo yummy! I highly recommend visiting the Americano it’s a little spendy but well worth it.

1st timer! GREAT food! What makes this place special is the service! Staff SUPER friendly and easy to talk to… Especially when you don’t know what to expect… Hillary was fantastic! All of her recommendations were spot on. Being in the service industry for over 20 years, I’ve got to say that I’m happy that customer service if not dead. New place to be when I’m in Dallas! Keep up the great work.

Okay I’m going to put the good things upfront first: it is in a very chic hotel(think W on steroids), the ambiance is decent, and the service was fantastic. The hostess was nice, the waitress was top-notch, and the manager actually came out to talk to our table. It does get busy on a weekend night though, so definitely call in advance. the beverage menu was eclectic, the waitress answered all of our questions and it seemed like my friends were all happy with their beverage selection. Now I’m gonna talk about the things I didn’t like as much: the food. Items we ordered and shared around the table: Caesar salad: good dressing to greens ratio; parmesan crisps on the top were pretty impressive. Only complaint was the leaves are too big, hence difficult to pick up. Cauliflower salad: the dressing was simple, which I appreciate, but overwhelmingly sour. I had to ask my waitress what it was made of and was told«only lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper». oh well, maybe they have extra sour lemons that night. it had good presentation, too, and they are definitely not skimpy on their ingredients or portion. There were plenty of bright green pistachios playing hide and seek in this huge plate of salad Housemade Meatballs: Apparently the only highlight of the night. I didn’t order it, but my friend who did commented on how salty the sauce was. Chicken parmigiana: my friend ordered it and I took a bite. It was made of dark meat and very juicy, while the crest remains crispy despite the generous amount of sauce, which has really good consistency as well. I would like to point out it was a tad bit salty too. That being said, if you’re used to chicken parm made of white meat, definitely avoid it or confirm with your waiter/waitress first. My friend ended up returning the plate to the kitchen for that specific reason. broccoli rabe was a tad bit overcooked and soggy. Grilled swordfish: VERY, VERYSALTY. The fennel was drenched in crazy salty olive juice too, so much that you can’t even taste the fennel. That being said, the swordfish was grilled perfectly, still juicy and tender in the middle, which is hard to accomplish. one of our friends was celebrating his birthday so we got him the chocolate panna cotta plate. And here’s the final hit: there is sea salt in the panna cotta. not just sprinkles of it, but a good chunk. First of all, not everyone is into the sweet-salty dessert scene, so if that was intentional I think it deserves a shout-out on the menu. If that wasn’t intentional then… oh well.

Best meatballs I’ve ever had in my life. I also really like the little streetside patio area. All of the food was really good but you definitely shouldn’t leave without getting the meatballs. Oh but you should definitely get some real champagne flutes. The weird little wine glasses suck. I wouldn’t order champagne there again.

After much back and forth about where to get pizza on our only night in Dallas, we arrived at Americano. We went during the week and were seated immediately; the hostess was very helpful, hung our coats and even got us extra plates before we had to ask. Our waiter was very attentive, refilling our beers(the Aventinus Eisbock), and checking in on how we were doing. We had the cheese plate as well as the Margherita and Pumpkin Blossom pizzas. Thin pizza is great, but theirs was just okay, got cold really quickly and they both tasted so similar. The cheese plate was interesting with its pairing of jam and pickled veggies, but the cheese was average to tasteless. Nonetheless, it’s still a niche spot to have a casual dinner with friends and fun drinks.

Great service and superb food. This isn’t your average Italian restaurant, it’s better! Definitely ask your server for recommendations. Christine took awesome care of us as did the rest of the staff as soon as we were greeted by the hostess. Be sure to try the ricotta and pumpkin blossom pizza. Super thin crust and so YUM! Everyone at my table of 8 raved about each appetizer, entrée and drink!

Came here for a date night with my boyfriend Saturday evening. The place is definitely more casual, but still a cool vibe. There’s also a cool patio space that would fit larger parties. We ended up taking an über to the restaurant and the hostess sat us almost immediately. I’d say you should probably make a reservation on a friday or saturday evening. We ordered a bottle of wine(great wine list by the way) and an order of meatballs to start. The appetizer was awesome! I cannot wait to come back and try the cheese boards. For the main course, I got the shrimp scampi, which was delicious and fresh and my boyfriend ordered the parpadelle, which he loved. Neither of us could finish our portions as they were definitely large. We also ordered a side of cauliflower head, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the weird part was that we didn’t get the cauliflower until AFTER we had finished eating our entrée, which I thought was weird. I had to ask our waiter what happened to our side dish and after he checked with the chef, he came back to tell us it was accidentally burned. Although definitely an oversight on their part, I was just suprised that no one noticed we hadn’t gotten our side dish and that no one offered to take this off our receipt as we barely ate it seeing as we had already finished eating. Overall, a good experience if you’re in the area. Go to midnight rambler before or after for a cocktail!

Went here for apps and wine. They have a selection of wines on tap so you can do a half bottle which is great to split(about 8 – 10 total on tap between varieties of red and white) Tried the artichokes and olives with fennel dust and both were very yummy. Waitress was friendly and service was good. They weren’t super busy because it was New Year’s Day, so we sat in the«outside» area and enjoyed a few hours there. It’s on the street but the entrance is actually through the hotel.

Would give this 4.5 stars if I could. The only reason I wouldn’t give this a 5 star rating is that the dishes themselves are very delicious but represent standard options available at almost any Italian restaurant and lack the uniqueness and creativity of the food at a place like Lucia. Otherwise, the dishes have been executed phenomenally and service was impeccable. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer and the The décor and interior design is awesome and complements the food and ambience very well. This will be my new regular spot for Italian food in Dallas

Grab your friends, a bar/patio seat and an Americano cocktail. A great place to take in the downtown vibe of Dallas. We loved the house-made charcuterie board, and stuffed olives as a starter. Go straight into the succulent pastas and best pizza crust in Texas. Don’t forget the cauliflower salad! Yep, believe it. Americano is where you take your sexy thang for a couple drinks and well thought out dishes — before a hot night out on the town. The vibe is causal yet still invoking swanky Downtown social scene, take a look around because you never know who you might be sitting next to. Yep, I’m looking at you Woody Harrelson. Do yourself a solid and hit up their friends down below at Midnight Rambler before you leave the building. *Pro tip: Free valet right at the front door. You’re Welcome!

If you’re looking for innovative gourmet ITALIAN food in a hip setting I can highly recommend Americano. Wine on taps, Genius !!! I went back 2 days in a row and my favorites were the fried olives that had a nice kick of chili in them. I would bag them up and bring as the best snack ever. Fried chickpeas, eggplant and meatballs were also my favorites. The shaved cauliflower salad is the most innovative salad I’ve ever had. MUSTTRY ! All pastas are home made and my top winner was the linguine with rock shrimp followed by the bolognese parpadelle. Can’t wait to go back and try some more :)

I was part of a party of 6 young ladies a Monday night a couple of weeks ago celebrating taking the boards. We ordered an array of dishes to share. While 90% of the food brought out was amazingly tasty — the music was BLARING like at a night lounge, i had to yell to be heard, could only hear the person sitting immediately next to me, could not hear the waiter if acrossthe table. And the restaurant wasn’t even that full. It totally ruined my experience. Pros: — unique menu for Dallas, I would call it California Italian as it is on the lighter and healthier side. — the crispy pizzas and quail were my favorites — desserts were devoured — personable wait staff — post modern/ultra trendy décor, if your looking for that. Cons: — the kale lasagna, which I was most excited for, was underwhelming — the music was way way way way way too loud Would only go back if I was prepared to have a dinner conversion via text or sign language. Would recommend to the married couple who doesn’t talk to each other at dinner anyway.

A true gem and great addition to Italian options in Dallas. The space is stylish and inviting. Both times I’ve been for dinner and Kyle was our waiter. He is so cheery and kind. To start, you MUST order Arancini(though I will say, they’re a bit mini in size). They are prepared differently from the traditional style — stuffed with mushroom risotto and truffle. YUM. The meatballs are amazing too, doused in a very tangy marinara sauce. As for entrees, I recommend the sausage and broccoli rabe pizza and the pappardelle bolognese. Both the pizza and pasta are a tad spicy but with just enough heat, not at all overpowering. All in all I’ve had delicious and truly enjoyable experiences dining at Americano. I highly suggest it! TIP: If you order a bunch of dishes at the same time, make sure to ask them to stagger when they bring it out.

I love the atmosphere, the décor, the service, and of course the food. My party had the Jewish Style Artichokes, Margarita Pizza with Sausage, Eggplant Caponata with warm bread, Fried Olives stuffed with Calabria chili sausage and pistachio and vanilla gelato!!! Oh my God!!! Everything was so fresh and delicious!!! This was our first visit but will definitely not be our last!!! We had the opportunity to meet Liz the manager and we told her how impressed we were of this new eatery. This is my new«favorite» restaurant. Love Love Love!!!

QUICKHIT: Consider Checking It Out, 3.5 Stars(3.5 stars for the food, 3 stars for the noise) Americano is the newest restaurant at the Joule Hotel downtown on Main Street. I’ve now dined there twice since its opening two weeks ago. I enjoyed both dining experiences at Americano — the food was excellent, the menu has a variety of options, and it is a social atmosphere… all making for a restaurant that you would want to take friends to. My only gripe is that the restaurant is incredibly loud. Beyond usual conversation noise, music playing on ceiling speakers added to a cocophony of deafening sounds that even made it difficult for my usually easily-heard loud mouth to be understood. This is unfortunate since although I do enjoy the food here, I wouldn’t take friends here if I wanted to socialize or «catch up.“I hope they institute some sound deadening measures to really make this restaurant have a top notch dining atmosphere. Other things I noticed: –They are opened for lunch and dinner every day of the week –Although nearby street parking is feasible during the week/weekend, it is scarce, and valet parking will be your likely mode of parking –The Midnight Rambler is an excellent bar to go to in the Joule after dining here(Americano + Midnight Rambler is a solid combo for a weekend evening) –All the service staff and hostesses seemed to have been plucked from a Givenchy advert… some gorgeous looking folks working at Americano Ok, the most important part, the food: Small plates($ 5-$ 12): –Housemade meatballs — Standard –Jewish style artichoke — Terrific, that lemon aioli… –Albacore tuna — Fresh, about five pieces, shareable for two –Arancini — YUM, who doesn’t love fried stuffed rice balls with cheese and meat in them Pizzas($ 11-$ 14): –Pumpkin blossom — The pizza was quite good, more like a flat bread(sans sauce)… Wish I got more pumpkin flavor per bite, but the table enjoyed this one –Four mushroom — Pass, bread + a little cheese + 5 mushrooms. On second visit, my dining company didn’t enjoy this one Housemade Pasta($ 11-$ 16): Pappardelle — Salty, Standard Butternut squash tortellini — MUSTGET. Unique flavors that blend well. For the pastas you can either order a small plate portion size or a full entrée portion size Large plates($ 16-$ 26, one dish $ 75) –Osso bucco(veal shank) — Very tender. Comes with risotto. Was unavailable on the second dining since they ran out of it –Flat iron — Typical steak, comes with onions and potatoes –Swordfish — cooked excellent, flavors came through nicely –Quail — Meh Desserts($ 8) –Semifreddo — Absolutely delicious. Get it. –Dark chocolate pannacotta — Comes with brownie bites, plums, and ice cream Overall, I will continue to come to Americano since the food in general has been quite good Italian fare. Once they work on the acoustics of the restaurant, I do think this will be a hit restaurant with local Dallasites.

We came across the restaurant on Unilocal. It said hot and new… and they were not kidding! They had been open only three days. It was a beautiful day and the glass doors were open on the patio. Beautiful décor. I love the plywood touches. This place makes me think of eating at a trendy place in New York. Everything we had was delish! I posted a few pics of the food. We ordered skinny margaritas and they make their own mixes in house. They were great! Our waiter was awesome, and the gentlemen making the drinks personally came to the table to make sure that our drinks were perfect. This place wasn’t packed, probably bc it was so new… it’s a hidden gem! I would definitely go there again. Everyone around us had different dishes that looked amazing. I heard the other tables commenting on how great the food was!

Great new Italiano-type restaurant attached to the Joule on Main St. I’ve visited twice now and love it! It’s not your typical Italian joint… no red checkered table cloths and no overloaded carb feeling after! They have wines on tap and evens couple cocktails on tap… try the Italian version of the Manhattan… great! The wine is not served in stemware so that tells you the difference. Pasta is served with your entrée or you can make the pasta an entrée portion… I love the choice! Appetizers are unique and delicious! I’ve tried the steaks and spaghetti as well as meatballs and cauliflower… all was great with unique flavors. Meatballs on my second trip were just a bit bland, but good with the sauce. Pizza looks amazing but I’ve not tried it yet… Desserts…I tried several and all were excellent! The price point is fair… not too bad, but not a «cheap date» either. The dining room is unique and simple. The bar gets crowded quickly but is great! They have a couple TVs as well. I’ve not sat on the patio… it’s small but looks great… right on Main Street. Overall great new place and I’ll be visiting often!

This delightful joint is equipped with an elegant patio and pressed ply wood interior, like you smell and see at Home Depot, a bit of lighting, green eall, and plastic chairs. Looks reminiscent of a Thai place, with wine on tap and serves fish and chicken dishes. None of it seems to flow. Maybe we are living with too many expectations. Just enjoy the wonderful service, by walking into the pretentious Joule hotel and hop in. I still prefer the CBD. This is more causal and probably just needs a hammock. I can see it being a hot spot for lunch. Fun energy. Holla back. Let me know. It is all in your head.
