By far the best L&L. They provide a special teriyaki sauce that is a must for foodies. Don’t be fooled by the ghetto appearance of the store. I personally get 4 spam masubi every single day, with Sriracha and their homemade teriyaki sauce. Their food is on point. My dear foodies, this place is a must!

I guess every L&L is different and different menus. Maybe I was spoiled with the Torrance L&L. This L&L is a true embarrassment. Expect more with the prices they charge. Hopefully corporate can review who they franchise with. And I hope the owners take these review seriously.

I stopped by to grab some katsu musubi for my boyfriend and surprisingly, what a disappointing experience. First off, they charge for every katsu sauce you ask for. I ordered 3 of these musubi’s and not even ONE katsu sauce was included… SMH. Even though the sauces were only 50 cents each, I would assume that atleast ONE would be included. but nope.(FYI…other L&L’s don’t charge extra) Also, the presentation of the musubis were extremely sloppy. My boyfriend always orders these musubis and he was shocked at the seaweed ratio. Usually the entire musubi is fully covered and wrapped with seaweed but that’s not what we got. and when you flipped them over to the back, you could see that it wasnt even fully wrapped. Aside from that, there was a huge hole in the back of one of them meaning they didn’t bother to take the few extra seconds to wrap them up nicely either. I definitely will NOT be going back to this location in the future. Sad to see that something so small and so simple can ruin it all for you.

Unilocal Challenge 2015. 251⁄365 This L & L seems to be under rated. Located on Lincoln across from the Post Office. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had any problems. Service has always been friendly. They don’t go out of their way, but if you engage them in conversation, which I usually do, they are responsive. Food is usually out in about 10 minutes after placing the order. So, L &L you think Hawaiian, BBQ, Spam. That’s all fine and dandy but I come here for the burger. By the looks of the burger you would not expect it to be so good. But it is good! Kind of like that date that is really good buttheirface. Execpt your date is the burger. A very sad looking burger. It is on a dinky little bun. The burger is topped with lettuce and tomatoe. It is nothing special. Buuuut… dont let the looks fool you. The burger is soooo good. It has this magical stuff in it. Some kind of secret dry seasoning in the meat that makes it taste so good. When you dip it in the teriyaki sauce… Mmmmmm!!! I love it!!! The single is really small. It was gone in 10 seconds. You may want to get the double. I wish I did. You know what I really wish? I wish I ordered 2 burgers. If I did, my trainer would rip me a good one. The crinkle fries here are the bomb. Best fries I’ve had in years. Super crispy on outside and soft on the inside with a touch of salt. Order a side of gravy and dip them in and out and right into your mouth. The cutlets with double rice is what the hubsters of mine orders with a Masubi. He orders the gravy on the side along with a side of curry. The larger size has always been a perfect portion for him. If I order cutlets I get the mini. Dinner for 2 was under $ 20.00. I AM a fan. #733

This review is only for the Masubi’s. I ordered 5 masubis and waited about 15 – 20 minutes for them. I feel like that’s too long of a wait for just a simple order, and service was not with a smile. The restaurant itself is quite small, and a bit outdated. When I opened up the masubis and ate them, I was slightly disappointed that they lacked flavor — it was missing sauce or something. The masubi fell apart quickly after one bite, and they were kinda small in size. I think there are better places that I can get masubi so don’t think I’ll be coming back.

This is my first time at this L&L location and I probably wouldn’t come back. I went in looking for spicy chicken, which they didn’t have. I know other locations have different menus sometimes, so I understand why they didn’t have it on the menu. My issue is more with everything else. The guy working behind the counter was dull. The prices are a lot higher than other locations. The portioning is laughable compared to other locations as well. Normally, a mini size portion is enough to fill me up, but I was easily able to finish a regular size plate. I ordered a Katsu Curry. The chicken was fine, but the curry was bland and watery. Definitely a huge disappointment from an average chain.

I don’t think this L&L Hawaiian Barbecue even remotely compares to the ones I’ve experienced before. If looks could kill, this place should have been dead a long time ago. It’s in dire need of a makeover, along with some much needed life. It’s a standalone building and from the outside, looks somewhat decent. But, once you step foot inside, you’ll be greeted by a tiny ass dining room that barely fits a few customers at best. You really won’t get a hi from any of the workers, that’s for sure. There’s a soda dispenser to the left with a sign that says not to pour liquid into the drain of the machine. They want you to go ask the cook to do that. WTH? While waiting for my TOGO order, I noticed the empty tables to be quite filthy. At least wipe it down. Don’t you want your customers to feel welcome when dining in? What makes it more intimidating is the brick wall that separates the dining room from the back. Unless, you’re tall, you can’t see over it. God knows what happens behind that thing. Blocked kitchens tend to make me nervous. How can you tell if it’s even sanitary back there? As for the food, unforgettable. I paid $ 8 for a regular sized Chicken Katsu with Gravy. There was enough fried chicken, but I swear the box looked short. As though, you could fit in 2 or 3 more pieces. Overcooked and burnt for sure. Usually, when they give you a tiny scoop of Macaroni Salad, you get at least 2 big mounds of rice. NOPE. Small scoops of white rice. As for the Macaroni Salad, it lacked mayo and I couldn’t even find a piece of carrot anywhere. Bland, with no flavor. They even used puny ass macaroni. What a sorry excuse for Hawaiian food. If you must purposely compromise the customer’s experience, then I don’t consider that being economical to help cut costs. With a two man operation — a cook and a server/cashier, I understand that business might not be so good. But, if you don’t care, then why should I? I won’t be back.
