J Korean BBQ

Worst freaking service ever, will skip around on the names no matter who was actually signed in first. They skipped over our name and once we noticed we were told we would be next but they continued to call people who had arrived after us. Food isn’t worth the wait unless you absolutely love kbbq. If you’re just trying or its your first time just go somewhere else.

This place is great. Not too pricy and the service isn’t that bad either. I would recommend going here

As much as I don’t like giving places 1 star, I have to say that this place is one of the worst places I have been too. Completely understaffed, and the service wasn’t reputable at all. It took us 30 minutes to be seated when there were empty tables all over the restaurant. When we were finally seated, we were not offered water or anything to drink and had to wait another 20 minutes to be ASKED what we would like to cook. On top of this, when we asked for more meat or sides it took a long time. The staff was nice, but to be honest, I believe if you own a restaurant you should have employees that will check on customers, not have the customers have to raise their hand for 3 minutes to get attention. I will not be coming here ever again and would advise anyone looking to go to a kbbq place to go elsewhere. Not worth the service, the wait or the cheap food.

Terrible service smh, waiter didn’t let us use Unilocal offer because they had «changed it from $ 60 to $ 90» but our total was $ 96 and he started panicking and had to think for a minute or two for this lame ass excuse «the subtotal has to be $ 90 without gratuity included» someone fire this Billy Lee smh never going here again

it was okay. lunch special was 9.99 for each person. The grill is different. the rice cake was okay except the corners were hard. the Kimchee was good. The meat were okay somehow didn’t seem too fresh. But overall it was decent for the price.

Sara J. is A very UNUSAL Woman (?) or ugly man (?). The review of Sara j. dated 02/​11/​2016 and dated 08/​15/​2015 made a laught with her remarks. I think Sara J.& Austin N. must be a same person & relative of bbq xxxxx nearby.(Her & his 4~5 reviws about J KOREAN BBQ gave only 1star with terribly wicked intent)
I think she or he must not EAT AT J K BBQ again after HER FIRST REVIEW ON DATED 08/​15/​2015, but she made a bad review dated 02/​11/​2016 one more here as if she ate at j k bbq. I AM SURE SHE & HE ARE FILTHY PERSONS FROM JEOLA-​DO & THEY ARE OPERATING FILTHY & PITIFUL K BBQ XXXXX AROUND J K BBQ.

Please avoid this KBBQ place at all costs! They store their meats right next to bottled beverages and their meats are left uncovered. The person who refills your sauces and salad has the salad bowl almost to the ground on her cart. The grills have hot spots and aren’t heated evenly. They also include the tip on a party of 3 or more even if the service is bad. Which it usually is.

Can’t find any good service besides this one. Every time I go down here from Santa Maria, this is my no1 pick. The staff are nice and attentive, a lot of side dishes and menu items. Parking lot is a little bit small, and when it’s busy, the wait is long but worth it. I always plan coming here, usually weekday at lunch when there are not a whole lot of people. Rice is free!

Hey so are you guys still REUSING the meat?
I saw your boss taking left over meat from finished customers and bring it inside the kitchen.
My friend works here and he tells me everything about this place.
How you guys cut meat with bare hands, how he steals tips from the tip box.
I heard he used to cut meat with a glove that is for toilet & dishwash.
(When you get to eat here, check the meat if they have soap in it or maybe shit in it) LOL LOL
The HEALTH needs to check this place for real bcuz you people will get sick someday if you eat here.
If the meat is cheap they have reasons people.

These people don’t honor the voucher they have on Unilocal.It’s states clearly that if you spend $ 60 you get a $ 15 gift card… apparently after spending $ 65 I was told I have to spend $ 90. I’ve been coming here for nearly a decade. Not anymore.

i like the food, and the place wasn’t busy when i was there. I am shocked i found a place i like to eat at first shot. i will have to once again go there for a finale review.

The $ 10 AYCE KBBQ joint is going the way of the public phone, being pushed out by other glitzier places with nightclub décor and $ 20+ pricetags.
If you’re looking to stuff your piehold with wild abandon and don’t care about having Kpop blasting in your ear or pleading with your servers for one more plate of that pre-​plated frozen pork belly shavelings, then this is your spot, ol’ friend.
If you’re looking tor a restaurant with curteous service or anything resembling order, then you’re out of luck. If you think you’re gonna get Gen-​level service and quality while paying $ 10 per patron, not only are you deluded but you’re also the type of Unilocaler fucktard that deducts stars for limited parking.

Where to start?
Haha, I’ve gone to this place for a very very long time. I used to love it back when there was more than 3 sides and when their short ribs actually had bones in them. After the new management, I started noticing how much they have downgraded their sides and even the service. It started to get less packed and the price kept getting lower and lower. Each time we went which was every couple of months, we were really never satisfied which is why we always ended up at Gen or even Mr. BBQ in Fullerton.
Even though I didn’t really like it as much as I did before, these past couple of times that’s I’ve gone with my boyfriend. (Within the past month in half) We actually did enjoy our time there, thanks to SooMin. He was our server and we loved everything about him from his character to what he recommended to us. Usually my boyfriend and I would always come here just to get the thick cut pork belly which is known as «bacon» here, but SooMin actually recommended us the spicy pork which was quite delicious. The sides are just aye okay, but their radish that you eat with the spicy pork is… definitely a must. We just wanted to say thank you for being an attentive server and for making us want to come back even more whenever we do crave for something as simple as pork belly. You shall see us soon again! :)

God bless this place. Just went here twice, and as of Sept 2015 there is still the $ 9.99 AYCE option (and that’s dinner price) and it has great service.
I figure that the service is really good because they are working smarter: they bring a cart around with all the appetizers, sauces, salads, etc. so if you need anything it’s all right there for them to give to you. Even at dinner time they come around a bunch asking if you need anything and often I find myself needing to not be greedy because I can’t really eat all of that sides towards the end of my meal.
This is not a super fancy/​pretty place but it is clean and functional. They’ve got what counts like I see the A/​C machine blasting, the booths seating is looking new (not a single butt-​indentation or rip in the cushion). I will admit that the ventilation fans could be better because of the following reason. They have very traditional looking concave grills that might splatter oil if conditions allow. The first time I was here, I had to switch seats because maybe the drafts made some oil jump onto one side of the table even though we turned down the heat. The second time this didn’t happen at all.
I also love that they have Cass beer because it’s sooo much better then Hite. Overall, for this price and the service, I love it.

$ 10 AYCE KBBQ?! Sign me up. Since it is pretty cheap, the wait can get lengthy, but that’s a given.
Apparently, years ago, you could only get brisket for $ 10 (but that would’ve been good enough for me!) Nowadays, there’s about 10 or so selections for $ 10, but for parties of 3 or more, there’s 15% gratuity included. It’s still pretty cheap, though.
I like the setup of the grill because it’s different. It looks like a little hot pot, except you can’t open the thing! So be careful and don’t touch it :-) It makes it hard to cook the meat somewhat, especially since certain meat is thin, but after a while all the oil on it helps cook the meat! There’s no grill change, so there’s that. The only meat we got was the brisket and beef belly and both were delicious! The beef belly was really crispy and reminded me of bacon, and I don’t usually eat beef belly.
The waiters were always on point with us, despite how busy it was, and my party was really needy. The only thing I was upset with was the fact that when we were splitting the bill up at the cash register, I wanted $ 12 charged to my card, and the older man charged me $ 12.59. It’s only $.59 I know, but THREE times I told him $ 12, yet, he did as he pleased. I don’t get what the issue was.

Side dishes were okay, but for the price of $ 10, the meats were very delicious and fresh.
BUT. TO THE OWNER… Please have more good quality side dishes! Then this place would be packed!!!
The service here is awesome!!! Our server was a young asian boy. Hes very quick and he made us feel welcoming.
Unlike all the other AYCE kkbq ive been to (furasato in Gardena), they have poor quality meat. And service is horrible.

This place has gotten so much better over the years. I remember always going here. Back when they used to have ice creams and whatnot.
Anyways, this is always my AYCE kbbq place to go too! It’s $ 10 unlike those other expensive kbbq’s. I love their sides. They have kimchi, potato salad, and whatever the shredded lettuce things are. But it’s all yummy. I mean sometimes it depends on the day though! Can’t always get the best of everything. Ughh and I just love their brisket & bulgogi! It’s my favorite. Also, don’t forget to ask for onions. Yummms! And love their hot sauce and brisket sauce. Plus the salad? Omg so good.
Service is also very great! They always come here and there to check up on you and give you refills on whatever you want. They’re pretty fast. I love it! Will be back whenever I crave some kbbq :)

I like this place cause they serve simple and affordable KBBQ. Nothing fancy, just you go here and be a carnivore. You literally get what you pay for, $ 9.99 all you can eat, sounds good to me. It’s one of my girlfriend and I’s go to place for a KBBQ if we can’t think of anything to eat that day lol. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the best meats I ever tasted and its not worst either, but if you choose quantity than quality that day, this is the place to be. The sides are good, that noodle looking kimchi is the best.
Their costumer service is way better than before, I think they get rid of those snobby waiters, which is a good thing. Waiters are friendlier and polite than before. Don’t forget to ask for the visiting stamp, it will save you a meal for every 10 visits.

If 10 bucks is all you are willing to spend on some AYCE, if you aren’t pressed for time, enjoy helping yourself to the condiments cart at times and don’t mind torn booth seats and (possibly) below average banchans and meats, this place could be for you.
Sometimes this place is meant to be for my husband and I. As I have stated in many of my reviews, I AM cheap. So this place satisfies my frugality when I am down to a few bills in the bank account.
Our latest visit, it took 15 minutes to get a booth even though they weren’t severely busy. Service was, yes, sometimes horrible. And the one long-​time-​employed, eccentric waitress forgot a few of our requests. Kimchi good, rice paper good, potato salad meh, green salad great and the meat tasted better than they were photogenic.
NOT one of my favorite AYCE KBBQ spots, but when I am close to broke and lusting after KBBQ, their $ 8.99 lunch or $ 9.99 dinner price becomes an acceptable solution.
