We’ve gone here about 20+ times. Depends on who is working if you get good service or not and depends where you sit. I was a server for over 7+ years and bartended for 3+ years so I notice all the little things that wait staff should be doing and not be doing. If you sit at the counter you get top notch service. The blonde(mid 20’s early 30’s age) manager is really friendly and she has gotten to know us(my boyfriend more so than me as he comes here after his gym routine more often than me). She has a decent staff, but some of the girls seem so into doing anything but being a server(taking personal calls, texting, etc). I feel the food is really good, but the prices are astronomical for the area-we are in small town Cypress not Huntington Beach people. I would give 5 stars but that isn’t very fair considering the service is not consistent. Another thing? The girls don’t smile much and don’t tell you accurate wait times(I know you can only guess but don’t say 5 min when all tables are full and 9⁄10 have just been sat). We also never really know who our server is. It seems like they pair up(which I see a lot of corporate places doing now) but it would be nice if they said«hi I’m Jenny I will be your server may I get your drink orders?» To me that’s the norm when I served and bartended since I refuse to ever work for places that require name tags. I notice if you are not a regular you won’t get the same service but I guess that’s pretty common at a lot of places but isn’t fair if you think about it. We sat at the counter last week and one server who’s served us a few times offered an older man a piece of homemade cake for free as we sat right next to him she didn’t think to offer it our way too. We wouldn’t have taken it but that shows you if you aren’t «in» you don’t stand out to them… Overall good food, ok service and overpriced menu…

Called to place a phone order and they put the phone down and told me to hold while they chit chatted about there boyfriends and what they did last night. Still on hold while I’m writing this review 8 mins into the call. I’m going to see how long it takes before they realize that they just left the phone on hold and or they just hang up. Smh. Still gossiping I can’t believe this. Finally drove to the location to speak to a manager. Unfortunately no manager available. I love Kimmie’s but the service SUCKS! I will be making a call on Monday.

I would give it 4 stars but the service element is missing. Maybe because they only have two servers for the entire place, and I would say it’s about 85% filled. However, the food remains delicious.

Over priced food for what it is. I was expecting more of a homemade/artisan feel. I would rather go to Black Bear Diner where at least the portion is huge — ANDISSTILLCHEAPER!

This place is very cute. Has a home feel to it and they change it out according to the holidays and seasons. The food is very good and reasonably priced! However this place lacks in customer service. The waitresses and hostess are not personable. They aren’t rude they just aren’t personable. Each time I’ve came the hostess never says«hi» or «welcome» she just lets us stand there until there is a table ready then seats us. Upon leaving I’ve never been told thank you or bye or anything. Very disappointed again. There are other places MUCH better in food with excellent customer service so I guess I’ll be sticking to those places instead.

Let me just start with this, I’ve been serving tables for about 7 years. Kimmie’s service is sub par(to say the least) and is something that needs to be worked on. I’ve gone in there a handful of times during the week days giving the place multiple chances and I just can’t bring myself to go back in there. The waitresses are often discombobulated from a misunderstanding of which waitress has what table. I don’t know if they take turns taking tables or have stations assigned but its awfully annoying being asked by 3 different servers if our order’s have been taken. Another thing that seems like an issue is attentiveness, every time I’ve gone in there each waitress just dropped off my food, magically vanished then returned with the sole intent to drop off the check. There was an absence of «How’s everything tasting?», coffee and beverage refills, no inquiries about anything whatsoever which we all know is a big«No, No» in hospitality. Pretty astounding if you ask me, I have three plus servers asking me if our order’s have been taken but none whatsoever when it comes to upkeep tables. The food at Kimmie’s is alright, the only thing that really stands out to me is the cinnamon roll pancakes and the side of fruit. I’m also seeing a lot of people complimenting their coffee which is surprising because their coffee is not«smooth» at all like everyone has been stating its bitter with an earthy aftertaste to it. The only true coffee i’ve loved from a restaurant however is from Dalton’s Café and Harbor House in Sunset beach, both of which serve Apffel’s Gourmet Coffee. I’m giving this place 2 stars solely because of the décor, presentation of the food, and their cinnamon pancakes other than that I don’t think this place is very special. I have regulars at my work right now boycotting this establishment because of service issues too which doesn’t surprise me.

I like this place because it’s close by and they have breakfast comfort food. Their food is pretty decent and average prices. Try to go when it’s not peak time or be patient and wait. They have a cute counter top which is usually open and you can sit right away. One of my favorites for lunch is the Chipotle Chicken wrap.

Kimmies. Oh kimmie. Your food is fantastic, BUT your wait staff is less than attentive. The pancake combo is less than $ 10 and you get pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage. But the reason I’m taking a star off is because the waitresses are all the same. They are very very inexperienced. So this waitress comes over to refill the water, she spills it all over the table. She gets embarrassed, stares at us and walks away. Yes she fast walks away and leaves the water on the table. So we clean up the water and that’s that. But like I said we come here for the food not the service. If you can handle spotty service and really want excellent breakfast food this is the place for you!

I’ve drove by Kimmie’s numerous times already. This stand alone spot have changed businesses so many times already in the last 10 years. I finally decided to come in to give it a try. First off, there were plenty of people waiting for a table, about a 15min wait. That’s a good sign already. I love the cute décor. Nice and bright. This building definitely needed a woman’s touch. Our waitress was super friendly, she was also a Broncos fan. Go Broncos! As for the food, it was pretty on point as for a typical diner. I ordered the Mexican Scramble and it was a little too much heat for me. I would order it again without the jalapenos. The BF got the Country Sliders and loved it. Portions were big, we took some home with us.

I wish I made a normal breakfast, but I went for the fruit cup plate which consisted of fruit for $ 6.95 and a lettuce. It had a lot of assortment. Anyways I did not feel too guilty of going out to eat. I can not believe this place used to be a burger place, but now a breakfast place, but the remodel has been good and looks wholesome.

Knowing my affection for good food and service, a friend suggested I give this place a try, stating that I «won’t regret it!». She was 100% correct. I’ve only been here twice to date; the first time I ordered something from their«south of the border» segment of the menu. That wasn’t a good judge as I hold Mexican fare to the highest standards. It was good, but there are better options for me in that regard. There is nothing hipster about the place… no corded Edison lights hanging from the ceiling, no Alcantara upholstered seats. Its always bright and cheery inside, a far cry from that plaid-patroned coffee house Downtown.(Ok, they do give you the check in a Mason-type jar mug, but that’s about as close to skinny jeaned beardmongers here.) Today I returned to give the other side of their menu a shot; ahh, there’s nothing like good ol Americana comfort breakfasts. The corned beef hash and eggs did just the trick to get my praise back in line as to what they deserve. The corned beef hash was flavorful, not overly-salty like some places tend to lean toward… my over-easy eggs were perfectly cooked… the hash browns crispy and tender in the same bite. THAT, my friends, is how you satisfy the most discriminating customers. I have never been let down with their service, either visit. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and not overly-droning that you feel rushed to shovel your meal down. It does tend to get busy as the morning crawls toward the afternoon, but plenty of seating at 6am when they open their doors for business. There is plenty of parking, so don’t worry about trying to navigate your urban tank down a side street to parallel park. All in all, Kimmie’s has done quite a job in ranking right up there in my Top 5 for breakky joints. And, as always… MAHALLOO for reading!

Food is awesome! Bone in ham was tender and flavorful. Eggs perfectly cooked to over medium and the red skin potatoes were moist and delicious. Coffee was great. Robust and smooth. I was weary walking in as i read other reviews about the not so great service. When i entered, I was quickly guided to the 4 seater counter. I must say, from the restroom to the kitchen, the restaurant is super clean and well decorated. It was evident though, that the ladies working here were very busy. My waitress approached me and said«are you ready to order?» without a greeting. Still, her and the others were very attentive, always refilling my coffee and checking up on me. I think this restaurant will greatly benefit from a hostess that can help clean tables or a designated busboy. Over all i truly enjoyed the food, and with a little management tweak, this place will be phenomenal. Food is definitely 5 stars.

This place was less than okay, I asked for pumpkin pancakes but got regular pancakes, within the first 15 minutes of me eating there they dropped my check. No one bothered to refill my lemonade. The food was okay, and I’m only talking about the eggs.

My favorite of all the Kimmies locations. I’m a long time Kimmies fan and have visited all the So Cal locations. The Cypress location is just the right size,(not too big or small) with great parking. The food is up to Kimmies usual wonderful standards as is the staff.

My parents & I come here every month because they love Kimmie’s for breakfast. I’m not a big fan of breakfast, but today I ordered the country style French toast & it exceeded my expectations. It was so moist & had the perfect balance of sweet & nutty. The waitresses are so friendly & the food’s presentation always looks so beautiful. We will be back(:

Food here is always greatly priced and has that«home» feeling. The waitresses are always busy, I think they had two one day I went for a packed house. Smdh Because of the poor quality of service, j always question if I should go back or not. The good prices always keep me coming back. The biscuit and gravy. God, they are so dry! Then they add the gravy. Your mouth will burn with pepper, because they always over-Spice it!!!

I’ve been here several times, how have I not left a review yet? I’ll admit, my tip for this place stands true. The service on the weekend is not that great so if you want to try this place out, please do so during the week and give it a fighting chance. If you come on a weekend, chances are you’ll never come back despite how amazeballs the food is. The weekends are terrible because I’m guessing the people they have working are HS or college students that just do not care that much to be honest. Who points you to your seat instead of takes you there? I don’t care how busy you are honey, escort your guest to their table and stop tromping around like a horse swooshing your ponytail like you own the place… you’re a greeter, do your job… ok, end rant. Onto much more important things, like the food! OMG the food is to die for amazing. So fresh and cooked to perfection. Every single one of the Benedict’s are something you need to try. The fruit is always fresh. The burgers taste like ‘Merica between 2 buns. The unsweetened tea, can I just get a moment of silence please! Its oh so fresh and makes me want to sing. Why are you still reading this? GO! you must go and eat all of the things! Or, wait until the weekday because… well, you read what I had to say about the weekend. I’ll allow you to wait 1 more day but your butt best be there come a weekday! If not, you’re missing out on a gem here! I’m like, Kimmie’s Café’s biggest fan! Do I get anything for this?

Stopped in for breakfast this morning. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon and no srambled eggs, they missed putting the cheese on it. Hash browns were very good. Hubby had bacon, eggs, hash browns and the toast was very late in coming. The staff was so so. Atmostshere was very cute. Kind of an expensive breakfast place

Mmm, delicious Cinnamon roll pancakes. Checked these out based on the other positive reviews about them. In town to see Disneyland and this was a good place to eat breakfast on the day after seeing Disneyland. The pancakes are very big, almost plate-sized, so two(«short» on the menu) was more than enough for me. They had a ton of delicious sugary cream cheese frosting on top, most of which I scraped off. You might want to get it on the side. Lots of huge coffee refills which was great since I felt like death when I got up. Good orange juice, tasted fresh. Cute shabby chic décor. There were two groups waiting on a bench when we arrived, confusing since there were so many tables open. We got seated within five minutes. Ok service, not super cheerful, but pleasant.
