Cheeky Taqueria

Let me start by saying that the food was excellent; however, the service was not. I expect the food where I dine to be good and I find that excellent service makes the entire experience great. Poor service makes the experience negative and negates the great food. Tonight at the Forsyth location, our server, B####y was barely adequate. She never smiled, never made any suggestions and was very inattentive. My wife really had her eye on a dessert and was looking forward to ordering it to share with our daughter. However, after clearing the table, B####y just dropped our check off without even making eye contact… we expected her to offer us dessert or at least ask us if she could get us anything else. At that point, the experience was so soured, we didn’t even bother to ask for the dessert.

Only reason to go here is grab mediocre food and watch a game at the bar. The service here is consistently slow and bad unless you sit at the bar for quicker access. The cheese dip is good and their enchiladas are good but the prices for what you get is high. With so many other choices around here, the service must improve or people will just take their business elsewhere

Pretty good food, mediocre service, poor cocktails. Mixes are not fresh, too sour, just not acceptable. Stick with the beers. Good, if you know what to order & avoid cocktails.

Cheeky Taqueria on Peachtree Pkwy in Cumming, GA was a major disillusionment. From the energetic ambiance inside of Cheeky, I was expecting a very nice Mexican dinner, but in its place I received poor service by an inexperienced server and on top of it… my Queso Fundido Burger was cold and had the texture of canned cat food, it was barely edible. Even a store bought burger would have surpassed this fiasco! = \

I have been to Cheekys many times, but recently, I took my girls and their friend for lunch. Our food was taking a long time… So I asked «Where is our food?» Our poor server was beside herself. Apparently, our order ticket was thrown away and since they didn’t know where to take the food, it was discarded also.
The server was so sweet and very upset about the situation. The manager visited our table and comped our whole meal — which was delicious as always. I really appreciated their honesty and the quickness to fix the order.
Try the chicken floutas.

I was going to leave this feedback with the restaurant on their website but it’s offline for updates/​maintenance. In short, horrible experience:
1. The person Q&A’ing all the food had a pen in his mouth the entire time, he would grab it out of his mouth to write notes then handle silverware, condiments and plates. Nasty.
2. The bartender must have messed up two dozen orders because she refused to wash out the mixing tin she was using to mix/​shake drinks. She messed up my drink include in this list.
3. Both bartenders were sloppy and slashed me and my +1 a dozen times with beer and other liquids. Just slinging crap everywhere.
4. Anytime I needed the bar tenders attention I had to shout multiple times to get their attention. When they did hear what I said they wouldn’t acknowledge me, a couple minutes would go by then what I had asked for but thought they had ignored, would show up in front of me.
5. When I asked for the check, apparently the guy printed it out right away and put it near us, but never said anything. I never knew he heard me or even that he printed out the check.
6. We ordered a taco shrimp plate (before we realized item #1), the tacos were just thrown together, each taco had chicken instead of shrimp and maybe 1 small strip of chicken per taco.
Horrible experience!

Best salsa in town, the tacos are incredible! Go for a buffalo chicken taco it’s not like the traditional buffalo it’s got a sweet hint to it and they are absolutely delicious. Guess what? They have TOTS!!!

Their food is great! Service is alright as well. Although, if you’re there late at night, beware. A lot of people get way too intoxicated. It’s usual to see police arresting someone coming out of that place.

The service was the problem here. Our server was somewhat ok, but not really. Just apathetic and clearly longing to be in a crowded hipster bar wearing his hipster uniform beany hat from Urban Outfitters. He already sported the proverbial half-​ass beard and black rimmed glasses. This is when we all looked at each other after he walked by our table three or five times and said «watch him be our server– hahahaha. Oh damn, he is our server.»
So beyond his indifference was the fact that he messed up and forgot an order. The kids burrito was ridiculous. It looked like a taquito– just puny! We all actually laughed while my son was eating it, stomach still growing after consuming it in 3 bites. I seriously don’t remember what I ordered so I have to assume it was just ok.
I’m not a fan of ANY restaurant where the service is sucky. The food would have to be incredible for me to try it again, so I won’t be back.

Worst meal I’ve ever had here! The buffalo chicken tacos were so dry and tough, the steak in the steak tacos was very difficult to chew and the vegetables in the veggies tacos were over cooked. Just all in all a horrible meal. Sad. I used to really like this place. I wonder what the score was?

First impression was good. Love the atmosphere. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup bowl, disappointed by the small portion received. Nothing special, okay.

What a shame — such a great restaurant being run into the ground (new management?). Guacamole was old and inedible, charro beans were watery and tasteless (they used to be amazing).
So disappointing, one of our favorite restaurants gone to seed — food terrible, service terrible. Why don’t restaurant owners ever understand, it’s the food that makes faithful customers?!
If the owner reads this, fire your manager, go back to your roots — great food.

We order from cheekys pretty regularly. They do a good job and the food is your typical mexican. Staff is friendly and attentive.

I love cheeky!!! They have the best cheese dip!!! They have a cute bartender!!! There is an interracial couple there that I ADORE !!! Such amazing team work, I can see them winking at each other and one will say «babe, mind bringing a diet coke to table 42?» And she just smiles and does it!!! This is what I call a cheeky SQUAD!!! Commutation is KEY!!!

Words to describe experience: LAID BACK ATMOSPHERE. DELICIOUS FOOD AND BEER. PERFECT FOR SOCIAL OUTINGS. QUICK AND ATTENTIVE SERVERS. GREAT FOR LATE-​NIGHT OUTINGS TOO, OPEN TIL MIDNIGHT!
I went out here on a double date last Friday, and I had the greatest time! We arrived there around 7 p.m. and didn’t have to wait long for a table, only 15 minutes! They texted my phone to tell me the table was ready. Very convenient. The hostesses were young and talking to each other, ignoring me for a few seconds before I said we were ready. This was the only bad moment of the night and why I only give four stars.
My companions and I decided to have drinks, hang out, order appetizers and talk for a while at our table on the patio before ordering entrees. Our server, Trey, was very attentive and responded to our needs without us having to ask. He was a great server! Our seats on the patio were nice and it wasn’t too hot, too cold, too loud, or anything that would have made us uncomfortable. Sitting inside would probably be louder from the TVs and close tables. We could talk in the outside area and not be disturbed by excess noise.
The beers we ordered were on point (Blue Moon Belgian White, delicious!), and even had some samples of other beers that tasted great (Pumpkin Spice, eh). Calamari and queso dip were delicious as our appetizers, and our entrees were also very good despite the fact we were all full by the time they arrived at our table :) I had a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado, cheese, bacon, and grilled vegetables. My mouth is drooling as I remember this sandwich. Go here and try this sandwich!

We were visiting friends in the area and ate here before we headed out to the airport. The service was friendly but the food was just okay. I’m from San Diego so I didn’t expect good Mexican food in Georgia. It is food for the masses so it does the job. I had the spinach enchiladas and they were okay.
I would suggest that they change the orientation of their long tables so that servers can access each of the diners instead of expecting the person sitting at the end to pass food and drinks down to the person sitting at the end near the window. It makes for an awkward experience.

Just have to share my experience trying something new on the Menu at Cheeky. I was so happy to try the Shrimp & Spinach Quesadilla. It was both tasty and filling and will be my order choice for the near term.

Table for 2 for lunch $ 30 with tip and one beer. Wont be back, too noisy, you gotta shout to have a decent conversation; no décor, the interior looks like marlowes, its nice but «taqueria»? i dont think so, definitely not mexican festive, and the food was split good and bad, my queso burger was ok, my buddy’s steak salad was way off; service was very good, very attentive.

First time visiting Cheeky Taqueria and the food was delicious! I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. Great char-​grilled flavor and the guac was some of the best I’ve had in some time. They add jalapenos and it kicks it up a bit.
Drinks.OMG.I ordered a Texas Margarita and I had to ask for more sweet and sour mix because it was SO STRONG! Anyone who knows me knows that it’s normally just the opposite, I’m asking for more liquor. So, they will give 5 stars off the drinks alone. My girlfriend ordered the peach margarita and loved hers as well.
This location is great because it’s located in The Collection at Forsyth. So get your shopping on and finish it off with drinks and food at Cheeky’s.

Came here on a tip from fellow Unilocaler Jamie. Good guaq, got the Cuban sandwich and the taco trio. The sandwich was really tasty and true to Cuban
Tacos were presented well and had a good choice. Service from Brittney was fantastic while we started to watch the World Cup on one the many TVs — Nearly one per table. Great sports bar. Chips were kinda normal and salsa was par but enjoyed it.
Can get loud– especial with your 80 yr old mom but will certainly go back when in the area. Beer was cold and bar tables had their own taps– but all were empty telling me the serve yourself may not have been the best deal but can’t comment. Liked it either way.
