I finally decide to write a review after a couple issues with Gaby’s at la Cienega. I ordered grape leaves and found a piece of glass in it at time to bite it. It hurt my lip. I called to speak with manager but he/she wasn’t there, came the next day with the food but manager was not there either. The interesting thing that the cashier came back with a gift certificate for $ 20 signed by the manager. The cashier told me if I wanted the certificate I would have to give them the food. I never had the opportunity to talk to the manager about it. The cashier said that they prepare the grape leaves but when I brought the food and told what happened he said that actually they buy it from somebody else. I hope they follow through this, for the rest just be careful when you eat there.

Worst customer service ever. Not helpful and have nasty attitude and the food is not that good I don’t recommend anybody to go to this place and if anybody says its good food they don’t know what’s Arabic and Lebanese food like and even if it’s good why sunset location shutdown

Dined here while I was out in the area for work. Pretty quick service for lunch. Ordered the chicken kebab pita. Sandwich was a bit small but chicken was cooked well. Could have used more garlic sauce(you can ask for more on the side, no charge for one time) just because I eat middle eastern food a lot and prefer the garlic flavor. There’s a cart that has pickles, pickled turnips(which were great) salsa, etc. for your use. Service was good and owner or manager was very friendly. Gave us a side of hummus on the house. Would come here again!

Hit and miss, plates have small portions and chicken and beef shawarma have been dry. Have ordered falafel and chicken shawarma pita sandwiches which were pretty good. So stick with the pita sandwich, get there least hour before closing for food that isn’t cold and dried, it’s pretty good then.

I ordered a chicken kebob plate to go. When I got there I noticed my order was not right. I could have ordered it wrong vice versa, regardless the nice owner overheard and fixed it right away. Thank you for the great service! Also, the food is delicious! I am obsessed with the garlic butter.

Fast, healthy and packed w flavor. Such a great place for quick lunch or dinner. Very affordable and lots of great options incl beef, rotisserie chicken, lamb etc. mix it up and try their mediterranean sides like Hummus w your main dish. Highly recommended and they have multiple locations in LA.

My office keeps ordering from them, this food is the closest I would imagine to what food would be like in JAIL. It always feel like someone puked on my plate. Everyone’s chicken was undercooked. They always get my order wrong.

Awesome fast fresh and delicious. Wonderful mean for healthy eating. Plus some of LA’s finest were there eating which is usually a good sign. If you know the cops eat there it’s probably good. All the flavored were awesome and the portions huge. I had the Shwarma Combo yum yum yum

I used to give this place 5 *s! What happened guys. I used to come here nearly every day. Not as good as it used to be. Still ok but not star quality like before. Hope it picks up again…

Use to come here alot, but ever since they changed management the place has gone down hill. Customer service is horrible!!! Food is still ok but the service of the girls that work there is unbelievable. Maria A was very rude!!!

My experience at Gabby’s was not as bad as many other Unilocaler’s, but overall, I’d say Gabby’s Express is just okay. There’s a lot of competition in regards to Mediterranean joints, but Gabby’s is not a bad choice if you’re in the area. The advantage they have over similar restaurants is their sides; they have several.

I love the beef kabob. However, I’ve ordered a salad before that was missing several of the toppings that were listed on the menu. Also, I really dont understand why this time they decided to give me pita bread in the packaging. Maybe it would have been fine if it was a singular bag just for that slice, but no it was just the last piece in the bag and they decided to just give me the bag.

The food is ok but not as good as my mom’s cooking . They need to make better quality dishes.

Updating my review dropping from 5 stars because the quality of the food is inconsistent and now I have gotten food poisoning twice because the meat was underdone. First chicken and then beef. I knew what it once was and what it can be so there is still hope of they pay attention to what is being cooked and for how long. I threw up so much that my stomach has nothing else. Trying to resist vomiting on my flight, I had thrown up in the restroom and then on the curb of the GeorgiaTech campus when I finally landed. And now the day before New Year’s Eve, some raw Kafta Kabob.

Avoid. 2nd time giving this place a chance. Dry stale pita, not even warmed. Tough lamb, overcooked and 1 piece was grisley. Dry rice, no flavor. Bad smell when you come in, the menu is hard to order from /confusing. I typically love Mediterranean, but I really disliked this place — wish I’d seen some of these other negative reviews before I went. Seems like they used to be good, but they’ve recently gone way down hill, but their overall rating is still benefiting from previous years — had to leave a negative review to try to reflect current reality.

Here’s why I won’t EVER be going in this place ever again.(And it’s not because of the food. Although the food’s nothing to write home about anyway.) This Gaby’s is right across the street from Davis Bros. Tires, where I just dropped off my car. I work literally right down the street, on La Cienega, and I keep a skateboard in the trunk of my car, so I figured I’d skate over to work. This was about 10:20 am this morning. My light turned green and I kicked off to skate across the street. When I got to the ramp on the other side directly in front of the restaurant, my timing was off or I didn’t hit the lip quite right… Anyway, I went down on the sidewalk– HARD. Right onto my face and chest. Knocked the wind out of me and I was down. Couldn’t move at all. Tried a couple times, but no go. Gradually, I became aware of an odd sound just a few feet away but couldn’t really tell what it was. I figured someone was probably coming over to see if I was alive. After a good minute waiting for my breath to come back and for the stars to stop circling my head, I managed to slowly prop my body up. No one had come to me nor did I hear any voice asking if I was OK– nothing. Surely I wasn’t alone on this busy street corner? Well I wasn’t. There, maybe 15 feet away from me, was the source of the odd sound I couldn’t make out at first. A female Gaby’s employee– sweeping the concrete in front of the store. There was NOWAY she didn’t observe what happened. And not a peep. Not a sound. Not a «geez– oh my gosh are you ok?» Nothing. I wasn’t sure which was the worse shock– the state of my physical being, or the fact that someone could so callously observe it and just ignore it and keep right on with their menial chores. Are we THAT disconnected and dysfunctional that this is how we treat each other now? Like I’m some kind of fkn’ animal? Actually– we treat animals better than this! So I’m lower than an animal to this person at Gaby’s. I’ve been a customer of theirs several times over the years. Not a super regular, but I would go in there occasionally. NEVEREVERAGAIN. (Actually, I might go in there one more time –today– to find this girl and tell her what a sub-human POS I think she is.) ***And please don’t tell me about how you can be sued now for tying to help a stranger. You can’t be sued for asking«are you OK?»

Wow! I found a feather in my beef Shawarma plate just now!!! I was so hungry and was eating fast but stopped once I saw something that looked like a toothpick. I was going to take it to go but decided to stay and eat here. I don’t know what to think right now. I eat chicken but where did this feather come from when this is beef. I asked if they keep their chicken next to the beef. The cashier said no, and she had no idea where the feather would come from. Exactly! Where did it come from? A pigeon??? It’s white and small. She asked if I wanted anything else!?! Um no thanks!!! I’m including a photo! I’ve always wanted to be a Vegan and I think today I will start living it!!! My stomach is turning right now! :(I’m feeling nauseous! This is my first time here at Gaby’s Express. Driven by so many times but never thought it was good food. But I was so hungry and craving Greek food so finally decided to give it a try! Waste of money, time, and food! I’m too nauseous to keep it in! So sad! Would give no stars but the cashier was cute and ok but she just cleaned the trash bin with a towel then put the same towel on one of the tables when she was getting trays. She was about to use it on the table but saw me looking. Ok– going to release this food from my body. Sorry for the TMI Unilocalers!!! Sad wasted $ 13 tonight.
