I really wanted to like the pitas, but they really were nothing special. The chicken shawarma and beef kabob were equally flavorless and the pita bread was soft, but almost too chewy and spongy. I like when pita bread is more… bready, thinner yet earthier. It wasnt’ all bad news though. The sauces were very good, the hummus and Greek chili… saved what otherwise probably would’ve not been worth eating.

CLOSED! This Big Fat Pita location closed permanently on 2÷28÷14. Apparently, Westfield Culver City opted not to renew the restaurant’s lease. They still have a location open in the food court at Westfield Century City. It’s a pity. As far as fast food Greek goes, this place was pretty decent. Unfortunately it seems like they didn’t do enough business at the Fox Hills location to stay open.

It’s okay… not as full as a regular Greek restaurant style Gyro, but it satisfies the requiremnt of a «decent» pita(gyro)

As good as it gets for a mall joint. I had the Greek Caesar salad with pita bread. It was excellent and would go back.

You can’t defeat me! You … you’re just a big … fat … pita! I’m not a big fat pita. I’m THE Big Fat Pita. And just like the Dragon Warrior defeating Tai Lung … my hunger was crushed under one hefty stuffed 9″ Grilled Pita loaded with Gyro(Lamb & Beef), Tomatoes, Lettuce, Onions, Pepperoncinis, Fries, Feta Cheese, and Tzatziki Sauce. It’s a monster of a meal for the minions at the Culver City mall. Even if the Big Fat Pita wasn’t «legendary» in flavor, it did bring peace to my churning stomach. To round out the meal, I added a side of Hummus. Like the Big Fat Pita, it wasn’t awesome, but I could see myself getting the Hummus again when I want a cheap snack. Mall Food Court food is usually a collection of over-priced fast food, so, it’s hard to imagine this place being more than it is. If you’re already at the Mall and already made the decision to hit the court for grub, then you might as well get something different or filling … or both. You know what I could go for? A nice, big, fat, juicy…

This place isn’t too bad for a fast food joint. The Classic Beef Gyro is a good size for anyone who was hungry. The total came out to be almost $ 11 for the gyro, 1 side, and a drink. It beats Burger King and Sbarro in my book, but I’m probably never going back.

One time I came to Big Fat Pita and tried their spinach pie and was so disappointed. It was greasy and felt like they just tossed it in the microwave to heat it up. After that experience I never really gave this place another chance and now I am sad for all the times I gave my money to Onos(though I love this place) when I could’ve came here. I never came here because it’s kind of pricey. $ 9.50 for a chicken plate. I got the plato the other day and though the portions were kind of small with very few pieces of chicken, the tzatziki and salad were SOGOOD. Be advised that if you don’t like citrusy things, you probably won’t enjoy it.

Ate here for lunch as I’m trying out some different offerings around my work. I got the Greek Sampler, which came with: three falafels, which I felt were above average(yay!), three dolmas, which were kind of small and not that great(boo, but still edible), some pita which were grilled and as a result bit oily(tasty yay! less healthy, boo), two sauces(I got hummus, which is not really a sauce but it was pretty good, and tahini, which was good). Oh and it came with olives. wait. where were the olives? Awww… they forgot my olives and I forgot I was supposed to get them until I looked at the menu just now. Service was not that great — the lady seemed a bit distracted and asked me three separate times if it was for here or to go, I think she kept forgetting. Oh well. Overall, definitely not bad, although I did pay $ 9 for lunch. I will eat here again, and maybe get a salad next time. Always good to have more options around work!

Decided to try this place out because I love Greek food and I am having withdrawals from when I lived there. I definitely know what top of the notch souvlaki/gyros taste like. I ate 2 everyday when I lived in Athens and over there they are«thavma» or wonderful in Greek. I was hoping this place was a decent place to have Greek food so I could relive my Greek days, but it just doesn’t cut it. I had a lamb gyro and just a big no. I would rather find a different place. The moussaka, spanakopita, dolmathes, and baklava didn’t look too appetizing as well, I didn’t taste them but just from seeing authentic ones I can tell.

Our office has called Big Fat Pita for over two years with big and small orders. The food is great, orders are always correct — even with our special requests, it arrives on time, and the staff is friendly. Those seem like simple requests but it’s hard to always hit those goals and Big Fat Pita does it 100% of the time. The menus have options that are both tasty and healthy. Ordering family style makes it really easy to accommodate all the special diets we have. Dave and the staff have really gone out of their way to make ordering from them a great experience. They also recently added some other catering menus that include sushi and Indian. We just tried the Indian food and it was great too. Hassle-free and awesome! No reason to put up with bad food or a late delivery ever again.

Now… being of middle eastern decent… I know a good pita when I taste it and this is not the place for me. I really didn’t like the pita bread used with the sandwich. It was too doughy and just not my style. I wish they’d change up their pita bread… maybe to the thinner ones? I just felt like it overwhelmed the sandwich and u couldn’t really tell what the insides tasted like. I ended up gutting the sandwich and eating the indies. I dunno… prolly wont come here again…

My inner cougar was naturally drawn to the high school kid waving his giant menu sign at me. Some would say I wish he was waving something else(like his hand) but I beg to disagree. The Greek dishes on the poster board looked adequately appetizing and healthy. Unfortunately, the real thing turned out more healthy than appetizing. But because appetizing usually means loads of carbs and fat, and because cougars don’t get skinny by only eating appetizing, I was satisfied enough with healthy. Seriously though, the salads are not half bad for quick mall food. And the friendly staff is accommodating enough to customize them however you want. My go-to is the Greek chicken salad with the Greek Caesar dressing. #workbesties4ever

I like how the kitchen is in plain view. Makes it harder for an employee to spit on your food and not get caught. The menu takes a minute or two to navigate. There are so many choices for a food court place that it tends to confuse rather than help. But the food is decent, the prices are okay, and the service is friendly.

For what this place is, a joint located in a mall, it is great. The only reason it is not five stars is because it is really expensive and I keep my 5 star ratings for places that are above and beyond in all aspects including taste and price. I like the big fat wheat pita with gyro meat, traditional sauce and a side salad. Quick and friendly service. You can see your food made. You will get full. Lots of combo options. If you are craving good Greek food fast, try this place out. Just be prepared for the hefty price tag.

I love Mediterranean food! Haven’t been to this location nor tried anything other than the moussaka my co-worker brought in. Even reheated a day after tastes yummy! I haven’t had moussaka in many places other than Preveza and now BFP, but it’s definitely as yummy! Hard to believe it’s from a fast food place. Maybe BFP will open a location in the OC or maybe I’ll be in the LA area and get a chance to try other yummy items!

I love Big Fat Pita. It’s the only decent thing in the Fox Hills Mall food court. It’s a bit pricier than the other places, but worth the money. I usually get the Plato combination, which has your choice of protein(I get chicken shawarma or roasted chicken) over rice, with a side(soup, fries or a salad) and white or wheat pita with your choice of sauce. I usually choose the soup as my side. It’s an amazing lemon based soup(forgot the name of it) that is to die for. I usually get the hummus or the tzatziki for my sauce choice which are both excellent. The gyros are delicious as well. If you want to try a bit of everything, the Greek sampler is a good choice. Always fresh ingredients. The staff is always helpful when it comes to picking something good to have and getting your order right :)

For a place located inside a mall’s foodcourt, Big Fat Pita is surprisingly good. I love gyros. Don’t care how it’s made, I just love it. There’s just something about seeing that huge chunk of meat rotating on a stick in a vertical oven. Walked by it one day since I was in the mall and decided to grab a classic gyros sandwich. The sandwich itself is decent sized, and you get to choose your sauce. I went with the classic tzatziki and it’s perfect with the gyros. Onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and feta round out the rest of the sandwich. I’d like to think gyros sandwich is a healthier sandwich compared to what the rest of the food court offers. You can even choose regular pita or wheat to make it healthier! They are running a special for the classic gyros sandwich around $ 5. There’s also the«Big Fat Pita» which is this larger version with a 9 inch pita for around $ 9. I’ve only seen someone ordered it once and if you’re hungry… that’s definitely the way to go! Greek salad is not bad but if you don’t like your salad drenched in dressing, be sure to get it on the side. The other side items aren’t that great. Big Fat Pita is a welcomed addition to the food court that’s usually plagued with super unhealthy fast food!

*** I am not a very big fan of fast food spots … *** So if you’ve gotta stop for a quick bit, I’d suggest the Big Fat Pita. They are quick and inexpensive but they offer some fresh, quality, healthy items. I tried a lamb and a chicken gyro at happy hour. Haha, that’s right … they have even gotta $ 5 gyro happy hour.(t/f) I just had to stop and try this out! I also tried their hummus. I really enjoyed them all. *** I think it’s their tzatziki sauce, it is excellent. ***

Just opened! Lots of food for decent price. I got a big fat pita [yes, that’s the name of the pita] with no drink for $ 9.75. The pita was huge and jam packed with french fries, meat, vegetables, feta cheese, etc. I’d say it’s one of the healthier places in the Fox Hills food court but of course I say that about most things I eat. I think I’ll be a regular here and will update my review with things I try.
