The sushi rolls were small. The salmon sushi ala carte was also very small portions. I don’t recommend this sushi restaurant.

I arrived at 2:30 for lunch. I was the only one in the restaurant. Immediately the waitress asked me if I was ready to order. She hovered over me. I ordered quickly and ate pretty fast. At 3 pm the whole staff was sitting at a big table in the back of the restaurant eating, including my waitress. I found myself apologizing for interrupting her lunch to pay my bill! She ran up, did the transaction, dropped it in front of me and ran back to eat. Food’s not bad but I felt extremely rushed. A very unpleasant experience for a $ 15 lunch. Not worth it! I’m done with them.

Food is very good, consistency is very important and they always deliver. The chicken wanton soup is very good and I highly recommend it. The service here is very good as well, they are attentive without being overbearing or rude.

The guy who took my order was rude !!! Plus this place is so overpriced and mediocre at best. There are a million places better for sushi in area. How does this place stay in business . 30.00 for nothing literally

They changed their chicken. The quality is now funky and does not taste right at all. They need to go back to their old receipes.

I always order takeout from this location – the kids love the Chinese dishes, especially the Sesame chicken. Delivery is prompt – always delivered quickly and while the food is hot(or cold in the case of sushi!). One of my favorites.

We went to Hanami during the holidays, excuse the delay of this review. I can’t express how much I enjoy dining at this place. Excellent Chinese and Japanese cuisines! This time I want to highly recommend the Crispy Orange Beef, made with refresh orange peel. The price is a bit high for this dish but it’s made perfectly! After having the first plate, the price was beyond an issue. The four of us had THREE dinner size plates of this with white rice!!! Right amount of sauce; some places flood the plate with it and makes it distasteful. The sauce is very nicely balanced; not too sweet and filled with orange aroma. The beef is so tender and cut to the right size. You must try this at your next visit! To comment the other Unilocalers regarding the service staff here, I’ve never had an issue. They always bring us what we ask for. I never ordered take out here. Why take home if you can dine at a quiet elegant atmosphere and enjoy hot off the plate food?! I had to edit this review adding that they are BYOB! Don’t know why I never thought to mention this before :)

A friend and I revisited Hanami based on the comments from both the owner and the manager in response to our review on Unilocal.I am very glad that we went back as the management was clearly as interested in making things right with us as we were. We are very happy about this outcome as our business is very close and Hanami is a convenient place with a pleasant atmosphere for us to have lunch. It turns out that the person, who I had thought was the manager(and who I complained about his rudeness, actually was not the manager and, in fact, is no longer there. The current manager Michael, and the owner who happened to be there, both seemed genuinely happy that we came back to try again. We were very pleased with our experience today. The staff who were always very nice continue to be so. A note about the food… we ordered the ‘tuna blast’ and singapore style noodles and they were both delicious and presented nicely. The mochi with green tea ice cream filling was a treat. I’m happy to report that we, once again, recommend Hanami to our friends and expect to be back soon.

I have only ordered food from this location and had it delivered but I frequently go to the location in West Wood all the time. I love Hanami because it is the best and freshest Chinese food I have ever had. When I order I am usually with a bunch of my friends and we tend to order a bunch of things to share like sesame chicken with broccoli and white rice, chicken and broccoli, sizzling duck crêpe, edamame, sushi rolls(California roll, spider roll, & Weinberg roll). The spicy mayo here is really tasty and I put it on all of my sushi rolls. The sesame chicken in so crispy and sweet from here I absolutely love it. The chicken and broccoli is pretty good but nothing to write home about, its just your average chicken and broccoli. The sizzling duck crêpe was interesting this time. instead of white bread they served it with these really soft/marshmallow like rolls that I LOVED. The texture was soft and pillowy and really added a nice touch to my usual duck crêpe. Edamame is always good and never over cooked, they could salt it a little more but I end up doing it myself in the end. The sushi rolls are always so fresh and tasty and travel really well. I love ordering from here because its consistently great Chinese food that I can depend on. I will agree on the prices being a little steep but the food is worth it.

Food is good, not great. Prices are expensive, but would be worth it if food was as good as it was 5 years ago. Take out service is fast, but orders are always wrong. Missing items, missing condiments, ect. The mgr Michael, is very polite but told me two years ago its the drivers fault(17 yr old high school kids). Today my wife’s roll was wrong, and my request for extra mustard resulted in one small mustard. When I called back they were very gracious, offered to replace the wrong roll(after first blaming my wife). Unfortunately, they sent more DUCKSAUCE. When I called back Michael said that he was frustrated and upset because they TRY, but wasn’t going to fire his cashier. He also said that he knows that orders are always wrong, and that he told my wife in the past not to order from them. They had my credit card on file and we ordered 3 times a week on average He said that I could not talk to the owner. I’m done. Average expensive food, fast wrong take out, and a manager that doesn’t get it. Mr. Won Ton in Cresskill and Mr. Wok in Tenafly are better balances of food/value/service Please post your reviews

My favorite place in all of New Jersey. Everything tasted great and amazing delivery time. However due to a failed health inspection they have become closed(even though when you call they say they are under construction). I wonder why they failed it… Was such a loyal customer over the past 14 years.

Good Japanese and Chinese fare, including good sushi. Outdoor seating in season. Lots of seating inside, but only a few tables outside. The edamame are always fresh – tasty and crunchy and a little salty!

Below avg(due to high price) Chinese restaurant with some Japanese and Thai offerings. Sesame chicken, as other Unilocalers noted, was decent yet other dishes were disappointing.

Usually love this place, but late night it’s a free for all. States it is open until 10, but we showed up at 915 and were told take out orders only. Got the idea if we showed at 905 the kitchen would have closed at 9. Will not be back based on that customer service

My boyfriend(who isn’t a fan of sushi) absolutely LOVES this place. It is the only sushi place he likes to come to. Great food, a bit pricey but you pay for what you get! BYOB with GREAT service!

Hanami is a Japanese Chinese fusion. It is tasty but it is not the best. The pan fried vegetable dumplings are very good.

Great staff. Awesome chef. Delicious food. Well priced for quality Asian cuisine. I prefer this location to the Westwood one.

My family has been coming to Hanami every weekend for the past 8 years. Granted it has come under new management at least once over the 8 years, Hanami is always consistently delicious and has some of the yummiest sushi I have ever had(and I have had a lot). It’s always fresh and never funky. I highly recommend the Spicy Chicken Wontons, I get them every time I go. The sauce is to die for, and is also amazing to dip sushi into. The kung pao chicken is also almost always perfect. Sometimes it will come out(as it did this past Sunday) VERY garlicky but still always good. Hanami is the only place I would even think of LOOKING at kung pao chicken because it’s beyond nasty at most other chinese food places. Best California roll ever. I don’t even usually like them.

Pretty good Chinese food, but definitely my favorite sushi place in this area! Try some of the special rolls, like the Christian and Victoria or the Maureen roll. I think I have a goal of having a sushi at Hanami named after me… But the basics like the California and the Alaska rolls are also great as well! But yes, a family favorite, and whenever I’m talking to a friend or someone I’ve just met in the area and I say«Sushi?» they answer with«Hanami!»
